Kinetics of the reaction of oxides of magnesium, silicon and aluminum with melts in the trinary system CaO-SiO2-Al2O3

Using a method involving equally accessible surfaces on a rotating disc and cylinder, we measured the rate of solution of oxides of magnesium, silicon and aluminum in molten silicates. It was found that in the 1200–1600°C range the velocity is limited by diffusion.
