The Internet of things (IOT) will drive the whole community from the binary model of human societyphysical world to the triple model of human societyinformation space physical world, and promote the information industry into the third wave. In this paper, we analyze the multiple attribute decision making (MADM) problems for evaluating the industry development potential of the IOT with triangular fuzzy information. Then, we extend the grey relational analysis (GRA) model to triangular fuzzy multiple attribute decision making for evaluating the industry development potential of the IOT with triangular fuzzy information. According to the concept of the GRA, a fuzzy relative relational degree is defined to determine the ranking order of all alternatives by calculating the degree of fuzzy grey relational coefficient to both the triangular fuzzy positive-ideal solution (TFPIS) and triangular fuzzy negative-ideal solution (TFNIS) simultaneously. Finally, an illustrative example for evaluating the industry development potential of the IOT is given to verify the developed approach. Through analysis and evaluation, the paper demonstrates the industrial current situation and development trend of IOT, as well as provide an important reference to the IOT industry development plan and the way of promoting the development for relatively behindhand provinces.
