Francis1reported abstracts of the twenty-four fatal human cases of which he had record up to October, 1928, and in more than one-third of these a diagnosis of intercurrent bronchopneumonia had been made. Simpson2subsequently expressed the opinion that the physical signs in many of these so-called bronchopneumonias were probably due to multiple tularemic necroses.
