THE TREATMENT of glomus jugulare tumors will depend upon the size of the tumor at diagnosis, the amount of destruction the tumor has produced, and the accessibility of the tumor. The treatment modalities are limited, and consist of surgery, radiation therapy, and cryotherapy. Analysis of the results of treatment seem to indicate that optimum results are achieved by variations in extent of the surgery and combinations of modalities. Analysis of Cases The following observations regarding the selection of therapy were drawn from an analysis of the University of Michigan series of 32 cases by the authors when each was at that institution, and a further nine cases in the past three years at the University of Iowa.
