Transformational Leadership and Team Synergy in Improving Communication and Collaboration in Educational Settings

This study explores the impact of transformational leadership on team synergy, communication, and collaboration in educational environments. The purpose of the research is to examine how transformational leadership enhances team dynamics by fostering trust, communication, and participatory decision-making among teachers and staff. Utilizing a qualitative phenomenological methodology, in-depth interviews were conducted with school leaders, teachers, and administrative staff, complemented by participatory observation and document analysis. The results reveal that transformational leadership significantly improves collaboration by encouraging open communication and empowering team members to take initiative. Teachers reported feeling more motivated to innovate in their teaching methods and engage in interdisciplinary collaboration. However, challenges such as staff resistance and limited resources hindered the full adoption of collaborative practices in some schools. The study also highlights varying levels of team participation, which indicates that the effectiveness of transformational leadership depends on the leader's ability to engage all team members. The major conclusion of the study is that transformational leadership positively influences team synergy through enhanced trust and collaborative problem-solving. The findings provide important practical insights for educational leaders, suggesting that transformational leadership fosters a more inclusive and innovative school environment. This research contributes to the field by emphasizing the need for flexible leadership approaches that adapt to team dynamics and the critical importance of institutional support and resources to fully realize the benefits of transformational leadership in educational settings.

The Impact of Teacher’s Transformational Leadership on Learning Commitment and Academic Achievement among College Women Majoring in Beauty

The leadership of instructors is very important in effectively conveying new skills and knowledge in the beauty field. In particular, transformational leadership, which promotes learner growth and enhances creativity, is gaining attention in recent times, and the need for research on its impact on beauty education is emerging. Through this study, it was found that the transformational leadership of the instructor has a significant impact on the learning immersion and academic achievement of female students majoring in beauty. This suggests that the role of the instructor in the beauty education field is very important, and that instructors can enhance the learning outcomes of learners by demonstrating transformational leadership. This study aimed to empirically investigate the impact of the transformational leadership perceived by female students majoring in beauty on learning immersion and academic achievement, and to present it as basic data necessary for the establishment of teaching strategies to improve learner outcomes. The limitation of this study is that by limiting the research subjects to female students, it does not consider the perceptions of learners with diverse backgrounds and experiences, which limits the generalization of the research results. Therefore, future research should consider various factors such as gender, age, and region to select a more comprehensive research subject and to derive more generalized results.

Hubungan antara Transformational Leadership dan Quality of Work Life dengan Employee Engagement pada Generasi Z

Generation Z is the generation that's less engaged in the workplace. Transformational leadership and quality of work life are two of the other factors that can affect employee engagement. This research aims to find out the relationship between transformational leadership and the quality of work life simultaneously and partially towards employee engagement. Participants of this research are 60 employees of generation z at PT. Kalimantan Prima Persada. Simple random sampling was used to select employees with the criteria of Generation Z employees and permanent employees. The instrument for data collection used a scale of employee engagement with reliability 0.911, and then a scale of transformational leadership with reliability 0.953, and scale of quality of work life with reliability 0.842. This research using online questionnaires for data collection, and data analysis techniques using multiple linear regression. The result of correlation between variables is R 0.667. The results show that there is a relationship between transformational leadership and the quality of work life both simultaneously and partially towards employee engagement. Therefore, it would be useful for companies to increase their employee engagement.

Transformational Leadership as a Strategy to Improve Working Relations in Schools through Islamic Values

The research investigates the role of transformational leadership as an effective strategy for improving working relationships in schools by integrating Islamic values. The study explores how leadership that motivates, inspires, and empowers individuals within the educational environment can create a positive work atmosphere. Islamic values such as honesty, cooperation, mutual trust, and responsibility are central to building harmonious relationships among teachers, students, and the broader school community. The research employs a systematic literature review methodology, gathering data from academic journals, books, and relevant articles. The principal findings suggest that transformational leadership based on Islamic values not only enhances collaboration but also fosters a warm, empathetic, and supportive school environment, contributing to both character development and academic success. In conclusion, transformational leadership, underpinned by Islamic values, plays a critical role in fostering a cooperative and trust-based school culture. This leadership model positively impacts the broader educational system, making it a significant contribution to the field of educational leadership, especially within Islamic education contexts.

Intellectual Stimulation of Women's Transformational Leadership in Improving Institutional Brand Image

Education is one of the efforts to improve human quality. One of the elements that makes education more qualified, Various problems that are inseparable from life as an organization. These problems cover several aspects, such as defining goals, determining policies, developing programs, employing people, providing facilities, achieving results and coordinating separate activities. All of these activities require the involvement of people with different ability backgrounds, such as professional supervisors, and other personnel. This study aims to describe: Intellectual stimulation of women's transformational leadership in improving institutional brand image at the Bahrul Ulum Mambaiyyah Islamic Boarding School (BUM) in South Lampung Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach. This type of research can be used to find and understand what is hidden behind a phenomenon that is sometimes difficult to know or understand. Data collection in this study uses in-depth interview techniques, observation, and documentation where the data sources are from people, documents (paper) and places (place). While to obtain data obtained from informants in various forms such as written notes, interviews, observations and photos. Both from leaders, staff, stakeholders and also those involved in the management of the Bahrul Ulum Mambaiyyah Islamic Boarding School (BUM) in South Lampung Regency. The results of this study can be concluded that; In intellectual stimulation, Mbah Nyai is seen from her intelligence, tenacity, relationships, willingness to sacrifice and uniqueness in her preaching. As well as the charismatic and revolutionary leadership model approach and policies based on the mandate of the vision, mission and objectives of the institution and the mandate.

Analysis of Women’s Leadership Style (Case Study of the Leadership Style of the President Director and Country Chair of PT Shell Indonesia)

Every leader, whether male or female, has their own characteristics and leadership style. There are twelve characteristics of female leadership and four styles of female leadership. The four female leadership styles are masculine leadership style, feminine leadership style, transformational leadership style, and transactional leadership style. The aim of this research is to determine the female leadership style applied by the leaders of PT Shell Indonesia. This research is a descriptive qualitative study that uses data collection methods through interviews. The technique for determining informants uses purposive sampling. To test the validity of the data, researchers used source triangulation. The results of this research show that leaders only apply three of the twelve characteristics of female leadership. Between masculine-feminine leadership styles, leaders apply a masculine leadership style. Meanwhile, between the transformational-transactional leadership styles, the leader applies a transactional leadership style. But between masculine and transactional leadership styles, leaders apply a masculine leadership style. This is because the leader is a firm and task-oriented leader.

Leadership actions that enable or constrain accommodation of education for sustainable development

ABSTRACT This paper presents an empirical study on leadership actions related to education for sustainable development, i.e. education that embraces ecological and socio-economic perspectives to foster students’ awareness of the importance of long-term sustainable development. The aim is to identify leadership actions that enable or constrain permanent implementation of such educational perspectives. Empirically, the study is based on data acquired in a school improvement project on sustainability, involving five schools in a Swedish municipality during the years 2016 to 2021. Data were collected in two rounds, in 2018 and 2020, through interviews with school leaders. A theoretical framework including the coupling mechanisms concept and previously identified organizational routines is applied in analysis of the rich data acquired to explore the school leaders’ reported actions, associated routines and their outcomes. The results reveal leadership actions that enable, and others that constrain, long-term establishment of education for sustainable development. The study confirms the importance of early establishment of a holistic educational idea embracing education for sustainable development, and both communication and feedback systems for leaders on its compliance. The study also shows the value of collegial structures and transformational leadership actions that prevent the fading or failure of intended implementation.

Improving employee performance through leadership, motivation and job satisfaction at PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara Meda

This study aims to analyze the influence of Transformational Leadership, Work Motivation, and Job Satisfaction on Employee Performance and Organizational Commitment at PT. Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara Medan. Data were collected through a survey of company employees and analyzed using relevant statistical methods. The results showed that Transformational Leadership (X1) and Work Motivation (X2) have a significant influence on Employee Performance (Y), but do not affect Organizational Commitment (Z). Conversely, Job Satisfaction (X3) has a significant influence on both variables, namely Employee Performance and Organizational Commitment. Furthermore, Employee Performance (Y) is also proven to have a significant influence on Organizational Commitment (Z). However, the Organizational Commitment variable cannot act as a mediator between Transformational Leadership, Work Motivation, and Job Satisfaction with Employee Performance. This finding indicates that while the right leadership and motivation strategies can improve performance, increasing organizational commitment requires a more comprehensive approach. Based on these results, it is recommended that companies focus on developing transformational leadership, increasing work motivation through incentives, and periodically monitoring and providing feedback to improve employee satisfaction and commitment. This study also recommends comparative studies and the development of more holistic models in further research.

The nexus between green transformational leadership and financial performance of hotels: the mediating effect of environmental management practices

PurposeThis study sought to examine the effect of green transformational leadership (GTL) on financial performance (FPef) of star-rated hotels in Addis Ababa and also delving into the mediating effect of environmental management practices (EMPs) on GTL–FPef nexus.Design/methodology/approachThe study used survey data, and analysis was done using SPSS 25, AMOS 24 and PROCESS Macro to determine the mediating effect of EMPs on the GTL–FPef nexus in hotel sector (n = 100).FindingsThe study found that the hotels under investigation have little access to green financing, lack environmental policy and strategy, perceived low stakeholders’ pressure to embrace eco-friendly practices and implemented EMPs to a lesser extent. Regression results demonstrated that GTL had a positive effect on EMPs and FPef. Furthermore, the result of a mediation test conducted using SPSS PROCESS macro revealed that the relationship between GTL and FPef is partially mediated by EMPs. Finally, one-way ANOVA result revealed that luxury hotels adopt EMPs better than budget hotels.Practical implicationsThis study provides valuable practical insights for hotel owners, managers and policy makers regarding the importance of adopting GTL style and investing in EMPs to remain environmentally responsible and ultimately improve FPef levels.Originality/valueUnlike previous studies that focused on individual-level intermediate variables to explain the indirect relationship between GTL and FPef, this study examined the mediating role of EMPs in the relationship between GTL and FPef at organizational level.

Utilizing a quantitative research approach, data were collected through surveys administered to leaders and staff. Regression analysis was employed to explore the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational performance. Findings suggest that transformational leadership significantly enhances organizational performance, providing valuable insights for leadership practices in these institutions.

The Mediating Role of Institutional Culture in Transformational Leadership and Organizational Performance in Faith-Based Higher Education in Kenya

This study investigates the mediating role of institutional culture in the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational performance in private, faith - based higher learning institutions in Kenya. A quantitative research design utilizing self - administered questionnaires was employed, targeting leaders and staff across selected institutions. Data analysis involved regression and mediation testing. The findings provide insights into the dynamics of leadership, culture, and performance within faith - based higher education contexts in Kenya.

Trust in leader and positive employee outcomes: To transform or to serve in cross-cultural leadership

Considering the potential impacts of context-specific value systems in individuals’ perceptions of phenomena, this study seeks to investigate whether and how cultural differences could influence the effectiveness of leadership styles in establishing trust and positive employee outcomes (PEOs) as well as the relationships between such outcomes based on the GLOBE project. The sample consisted of 1647 valid responses from 128 independent hotels’ employees in four countries from two GLOBE clusters (Anglo and South Asia). Multilevel structural equation modelling has been used for the analysis. Significant but different relationships were found between Servant Leadership and Transformational Leadership with Trust, and PEOs in the two clusters, which could be potentially attributed to societal and contextual factors as a deeper layer mechanism. Our findings have significant implications for both academics and hotel managers in terms of the critical role of alignment between context-specific contingencies and the selected leadership style in establishing trust and PEOs.

How Digital Transformational Leadership Promotes Digital Creativity: A Dual-path Mediation Model

This study explores the dual-path mechanisms for the influence of digital transformational leadership on employees’ digital creativity. A questionnaire survey of 300 knowledge-based employees in several Chinese firms was conducted, and 219 valid questionnaires were obtained. We conducted structural equation modeling using Mplus to analyze our data. The results show that digital transformational leadership has a significant positive effect on digital creativity. Openness to change and change self-efficacy mediates the relationship between digital transformational leadership and digital creativity. Importantly, openness to change and change self-efficacy play a chain mediating role in the effect of digital transformational leadership on digital creativity—that is, digital transformational leadership increases their openness to change and change self-efficacy, which in turn contributes to their digital creativity. By enriching research in the field of creativity, this study is also instructive for guiding and promoting employees’ digital creativity.

Learning Motivation as Mediating Variable on The Effect of Transformational Leadership on Job Performance

This study examines and analyzes the effect of transformational leadership on learning motivation and job performance and the effect of learning motivation as a mediating variable. This research was conducted by distributing questionnaires to research respondents, namely employees in factory 1 grade 5, 6, and 7 (operator level) at PT. Petrokimia Gresik, Indonesia, with 207 employees as the respondents. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) Partial Least Square (PLS). Findings: The results of this study state that transformational leadership has a significant positive effect on learning motivation and job performance. Learning motivation also has a significant positive effect on job performance. In addition. The existence of this research has implications that state that in increasing employee job performance, transformational leadership and learning motivation need to be improved. Learning motivation acts as a partial mediating variable in mediating the relationship between transformational leadership and job performance, which later becomes a new finding in this study.

State civil apparatus performance model: The role of transformational leadership, work autonomy, and work involvement

The performance of local government employees plays an important role in carrying out government functions and providing quality public services. This study aims to analyze the relationship between Transformational Leadership and Job Performance, focusing on the mediating role of Work Engagement and moderating Job Autonomy in the context of employees of the Sumenep Regency Government. Although the Sumenep Regency Government achieved an Unqualified Opinion (WTP) on the financial report, challenges in the form of ethical violations and low productivity remain. The research method used a questionnaire to collect data from 81 employees with the Slovin sampling technique, ensuring the representativeness of the results. The results of the analysis showed that Job Autonomy had a significant effect on Job Performance (O = 0.555; T = 5.551; p = 0.000), while Transformational Leadership did not contribute directly to Job Performance (O = 0.038; T = 0.468; p = 0.320). This study is expected to provide new insights into the mechanisms that affect employee performance in the public sector and suggest the application of the transformational leadership model as a strategy to increase employee work engagement and performance, as well as increase accountability and transparency in the management of public resources.

The Role of Heads of Departments (HODs) in University Management: Leadership and Accountability in Academic Success

The important role that heads of departments (HODs) play in university administration is examined in this article, with particular attention paid to their responsibility and leadership duties in promoting academic achievement. HODs now have a major role in determining the operational results and strategic direction of their departments as well as the evolution of academic institutions and the conventional administrative roles that they once held. Successful HODs strike a balance between administrative and academic responsibilities, fostering a climate that supports academic performance via transformative and collaborative leadership approaches. But along with this leadership comes a big accountability burden: HODs must make sure that faculty performance, research, and teaching meet high standards. The tactics that HODs may use to improve their leadership skills and maintain accountability are discussed in this article. These tactics include professional development, delegating, and fostering a transparent culture. The article also discusses the difficulties HODs encounter, including those related to institutional politics and resource limitations, which can make it difficult for them to carry out their duties in an efficient manner. This article provides a thorough understanding of the function of HODs in university administration and their vital role in ensuring the academic success of their institutions through a combination of theoretical ideas and real-world experiences.

Towards Malaysia MADANI: Do Leadership Styles Influence Innovative Work Behavior? A Conceptual Framework for the Malaysian Public Sector

Transformational leadership, known for inspiring and motivating employees, has been positively linked to creativity and innovation, while ambidextrous leadership, which balances exploration and exploitation behaviors and supports both idea generation and implementation. This article provides a conceptual framework for the influence of transformational and ambidextrous leadership on innovative work behavior (IWB) among PTD officers as middle managers in Malaysian public service. The first proposition is transformational leadership positively influences innovative work behavior. The second proposition is ambidextrous leadership positively influences innovative work behavior. This model will be further tested using a quantitative research method, survey questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS and PLS-SEM. Accordingly, understanding of IWB in public sector settings is enhanced. The findings demonstrate the application of Social Cognitive Theory (SCT) and thus offer new theoretical insights and practical suggestions. Thus, this study highlights the importance of work behavior that drives innovation and positive values among employees in determining productivity and efficiency in the public sector, offering valuable insights for policymakers and practitioners.

The Association between Organizational Factors of Health Promoting Schools and Teachers' Health Lifestyles: A Multilevel Analysis.

Schools are both learning environments for students and workplaces for faculty. Recognizing the role of organizational factors in staff health in school environments, the study aimed to explore which factors, including transformational leadership, teachers' perceived management support and HPS accreditation awards, were most associated with promoting a healthy lifestyle for teachers. A cross-sectional study was undertaken of 137 elementary schools in 2014, involving 433 directors and 2090 teachers. Data were collected using an anonymous structured questionnaire. Hierarchical linear modeling was used to analyze both teacher- and school-level factors associated with health-promoting lifestyles. There was a significant positive correlation between teachers' overall health-promoting lifestyle profile (HPLP-II) scores and both perceived management support (coefficient = .98, p < .001) and transformational leadership (coefficient = .38, p = .039). All 6 HPLP-II subscales also showed significant positive correlations with perceived management support (coefficients .12-.24, p < .001). Supporting a healthy working atmosphere and strong principal transformational leadership are keys to enhancing teachers' health-promoting lifestyles. Future research could explore how transformational leadership and management support influence teachers' health behaviors and identify effective strategies and interventions.

The Effects of Managers' Leadership Styles on Employee Performance in Four-Star Hotels of Arusha City Council

Employee performance in four-star hotels in Arusha has been inconsistent, partly due to varying managerial leadership styles. This study investigates the effects of these leadership styles on employee performance in Arusha City Council. The research is grounded in a positivist philosophy, utilizing a mixed-methods approach with a dominant quantitative descriptive design based on multiple linear regression. The study draws upon key leadership theories, including transformational and transactional leadership theories, and examines the impact of specific leadership styles: democratic, autocratic, and laissez-faire. Stratified random sampling was employed to ensure representation across various departments, targeting a total population of 287 employees, with a final sample size of 167 participants. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistics with the aid of SPSS (version 20). Notable hotels included in the study are Mount Meru Hotel, Arusha Serena Hotel, and Kibo Palace Hotel. Regression analysis indicated that all leadership styles significantly affect employee performance, with democratic leadership having the most positive impact. The study concludes that contingent leadership is essential for creating a work environment conducive to better performance in four-star hotels.
