Construction of Wushu Routine Training Program for Wellness Promotion in Secondary School Students

Background and Aim: As an important way of small and medium-sized sports communication, the current schools propose to stimulate the physical quality of middle school students in Wushu training. Wushu training is also to train primary and middle school students to enhance their physical fitness, enhance their self-confidence, and improve their emotional conditions. Therefore, the research goal of this paper is to promote the construction of healthy Wushu sports training programs for middle school students. The main research objects of this paper are middle school students. Research method: this study adopts the literature method, questionnaire method, and experimental comparison method of the exercise intervention of middle school students’ physique and mental health, in this paper, a total number of 50 students in Xianyang City, 50 were tested, and 30 could not be tested due to some reasons, such as lower limb injury, cardiopulmonary disease, and other symptoms. Result: After the eight-week Wushu routine exercise training intervention, the lung capacity increased (endurance quality), sitting forward flexion (flexibility quality), high leg lift (coordination ability), and 50 m short distance running (speed strength quality) were all improved and enhanced. the improvement of emotional state, self-confidence, and the improvement of anti-frustration ability to establish a sense of achievement reduce anxiety, and resist depression was significantly reduced. the subjects of lung capacity increase, flexibility, coordination, speed strength and aerobic endurance, anxiety, and depression mood significantly decreased. The results: the main ways to stimulate the physical quality of middle school students through Wushu routine training. It shows that wushu routine training can not only improve the physique of middle school students, but also promote mental health, and provides a certain basis for exercise training practice through exercise intervention experiments. Towards equity & inclusion: a critical examination of genetic Counselling Education on Intersex Healthcare.

Intersex describes a diversity of individuals with variations in sex characteristics (VSC), reflecting underlying differences in reproductive anatomy, hormones, and/or genes and chromosomes. With a shift towards socially-conscious clinical practices, genetic counsellors (GCs) are increasingly needing to provide comprehensive care to individuals with VSC and their families. However, the current quality of training provided to genetic counsellors on intersex health is unclear. Qualitative interviews were conducted between Jan-Feb 2021 with 20 current and graduated students of Canadian GC training programs to assess the quality of GC education on intersex health topics. An agency-based model of VSC health as proposed by Crocetti et al. was used to guide the inductive thematic data analysis. Results revealed three key themes: limited discussions on psychosocial considerations when caring for intersex individuals, enthusiasm for integrating more intersex training into the curriculum, and personal initiative in ensuring equity and justice in the care of individuals with VSC. These findings demonstrate existing knowledge gaps in the GC curriculum, with a need to increase the profession's overall awareness on intersex issues. GC training programs have an opportunity to meet the desires of students while promoting person-centered and validating healthcare for the intersex community.

The impact of a curriculum-based research training program on medical students’ research productivity and future research interests: a longitudinal study

BackgroundIncorporating scientific research into undergraduate medical education is necessary for the quality of future health care. However, providing rigorous research training to a large number of medical students at one institution remains one of the major challenges. The authors studied the impact of a curriculum-based Research Training Program (RTP) for all undergraduate students at Zhejiang University School of Medicine (ZUSM) on research productivity and future research interests.MethodsMedical students (n = 2,213) from ZUSM who completed the course of RTP between 2013 and 2020 were studied. The authors measured the academic performance, research publications, and research projects of students across years, and evaluated potential factors that contribute to student research productivity and increased interest in future research.ResultsAcross the years, there was an increase in the number of student publications, a greater proportion of students with publications, and a greater proportion of projects involving three or more students (P < .01 for all). The academic performance of the course was associated with increased publications (P = .014), whereas overall satisfaction of the course (OR 2.07, 95% CI [1.39, 3.10], P < .001), Skill Composite Score (SCS) (OR 1.70, 95% CI [1.16, 2.50], P = .007), and male gender (OR 1.50, 95% CI [1.06, 2.12], P = .022) were associated with increased future research interests.ConclusionsThe findings suggest that the curriculum-based RTP improved students’ research productivity, and that overall program satisfaction and self-assessed performance were associated with increased students’ intent to participate in future research.

Impact of liminality and rituals on professional identity formation in physician training.

The transition from medical student to practicing physician affects the complex processes of professional identity formation and professionalism, which have a lasting effect on the physician's career development. This study explored two different transitional processes of medical students in Taiwan, the associated rituals during this transitional period (the 'liminal phase') and their effect on the formation of professional identity. Using snowball sampling, we recruited 13 medical students from two training systems: six from the traditional postgraduate year programme and seven from the accelerated postgraduate year (A-PGY) programme. Semi-structured interviews were thematically analysed to identify significant themes that encapsulated trainees' experiences. A consistent and mutually confirmed discussion ensured the identification of robust recurring themes. A comparative analysis of the two training modalities provided critical insights into the relative impact of the training dynamics. The A-PGY cohort, subjected to an altered 'incorporation' ritual, encountered an influx of unexpected symbolic social power, complicating their transformation within the liminal phase. Without a defined internship like in the PGY system, A-PGY trainees exhibited confusion and inconsistencies in professional identity formation marked by conflicting internal and external perceptions. This ambiguity affected their clinical training, social integration and overall development of professionalism. The absence of a structured, sequential liminal phase increased conflict and diminished motivation, culminating in an incomplete self-crafting journey for A-PGY trainees. This study highlights the impact of the well-sequenced implementation of rituals in liminality on professional identity formation. A good transition training programme for medical students should compass sequential rituals in the liminal phase, including clear starting and ending points, supervision by seniors, guided reflection and plenty of opportunities for observation and imitation in context. Optimal training and pivotal elements in a medical training system warrant delicate design and further research when developing and changing the structure of the training programme.

Online Learning Resource Management System Utilization and College Students' Engagement at Zhongshan University

The study aimed to assess the extent of utilization of the Learning Resource Management System (LRMS) and its impact on student' engagement among 218 college students at ZhongShan College. Utilizing a descriptive correlational approach with a quantitative method, the study found that the students perceived a very high extent of utilization of LRMS, appreciating its clear instructions and regular access to reliable internet. Additionally, the students exhibited high engagement levels with the LRMS regarding online activities, academic relevance, collaboration, and social interaction. Notably, a significant relationship was observed between the extent of LRMS utilization and online academic relevance in students' engagement. The study suggests implementing training programs for students and teachers to enhance LRMS utilization, inform school policies, and promote awareness of its benefits. These findings lay the foundation for future training initiatives and policy enhancements within the educational institution.

The Effectiveness and Benefits of Disaster Simulation Training for Undergraduate Medical Students in Saudi Arabia.

There is a growing recognition of the need for disaster management training for medical students in Saudi Arabia, but there is limited research on its effectiveness. Thus, this study evaluated the effectiveness of a disaster simulation training program for undergraduate medical students in Saudi Arabia. A disaster management simulation activity was conducted for 32 medical students. The students attended a 30-minute lecture about mass casualty incidents (MCIs) and completed a pre-simulation survey. They were then randomly assigned to one of three groups (performer, actor, observer) and asked to apply their skills to triage patients after a Level C MCI. A debriefing session was conducted using the plus/delta debriefing method. Then, the students completed a post-simulation survey. The results showed that after the simulation training the students' self-confidence in their ability to respond to a disaster increased from 40.7% to 59.4% (p value < 0.01), to utilize incident command structure increased from 37.9% to 62.5% (p value < 0.01), to demonstrate START triage for victims of a disaster increased from 28.2% to 65.7% (p value < 0.01), and to apply safe search and rescue techniques increased from 40.7% to 59.4% (p value < 0.01). The students' self-confidence in their ability to perform basic first aid skills also increased after the simulation. The study findings suggest that disaster management simulation training can be an effective way to increase medical students' self-confidence and preparedness for disaster response.

Optimizing Digital Entrepreneurship Interest Among University Students: The Impact of SEHATI Program and Halal Certification in The Age of Social Media

The university is committed to developing digital entrepreneurship among students, which is realized through concrete efforts in the classroom by integrating entrepreneurial and Sharia business learning and e-commerce and outside the classroom with digital marketing training programs for students. Despite having interest and potential in digital entrepreneurship, students may face limited access and knowledge related to the halal certification process. The SEHATI program, which offers free halal certification, can be a solution to overcome these barriers. However, the effectiveness of this program in increasing students' interest in digital entrepreneurship still needs to be investigated. This research was conducted to determine the influence of the free halal certification program (SEHATI) and social media on students' interest in digital entrepreneurship. This study uses descriptive analysis with a quantitative approach. Data collection is based on surveys and other relevant sources measuring digital entrepreneurial interest, participation in the halal certification program, and the level of social media use. Then, the multiple linear regression model is used with Significance Tests using T-test and F-test. The research results show that the SEHATI program and social media significantly influence students' interest in digital entrepreneurship both partially and simultaneously

Interdisciplinary Training For Future Leaders Through The Create-Redevelop Graduate Student Program

REDEVELOP is a graduate student training program funded by the NSERC-CREATE grant, starting in 2017. Its goal is to support the training of new professionals and researchers (&gt; 100) who will be the next generation of science and engineering leaders and policymakers in Canada. The program has successfully developed a framework for operating almost completely virtually, well ahead of the world's transition to online learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our psychology lab, The Individual and Team Performance (ITP) lab, has dedicated over a decade to researching and designing tools that enhance specific training and skill growth necessary for effective remote teamwork. In partnership with the REDEVELOP program, we support students in navigating the unique interpersonal and collaboration challenges posed by virtual team environments. We will discuss how a complex and multidisciplinary program succeeds in training graduate students to become stronger academics, practitioners, and communicators of knowledge.

The Healthcare Improvement and Innovation in Quality (THINQ) Collaborative: A Novel Quality Improvement Training Program for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students.

The Healthcare Improvement and Innovation in Quality (THINQ) Collaborative is a uniquely designed program that engages undergraduate and postgraduate students to participate in improving health care and addressing important clinical problems. In 9 years, over 120 THINQ Fellows have been trained in quality improvement (QI) frameworks and methodologies focusing on research skills, social justice, leadership development, and problem-solving. Program evaluation has included surveying current and former THINQ Fellows about their experiences with the program and its subsequent impact on their careers. THINQ's research and outreach initiatives have contributed to improvements in workflows and clinical care on topics such as interdisciplinary team communication, discharge and care transition, sepsis management, and physician burnout. The THINQ Program has equipped future health care leaders to engage with and address QI issues in clinical practice. The structures, processes, and outcomes discussed here can guide other institutions in creating similar QI programs.

Early Exposure of Medical Students to a Formal Research Program Promotes Successful Scholarship in a Multi-Campus Medical School

Abstract Objectives Many physicians today struggle to learn the complexities of the biological basis for evidence-based medicine. To bridge this gap, the Medical Scholar Research Pathway Program (MSRPP) founded in 2019 prepares medical students for analytical reasoning and critical thinking while engaging in faculty-mentored research projects in a community-based public medical school. Methods MSRPP is an application-based extracurricular research program, designed for novice and experienced medical students. Three distinct pathways offer ample opportunities for pre-clinical and clinical students to participate in research on a flexible schedule. The program director guides students in one-on-one coaching meetings to set achievable goals with their faculty mentor, and plan their research deliverables, considering their interests and residency plans. Results We report the implementation of a multi-year and multi-campus research training program for medical students across five campuses. Our results show that five class cohorts (2021–2025) of MSRPP students were twice as likely to seek formal research support than students not in the program. MSRPP students continuously growth their self-confidence to disseminate their research by practicing oral communication in monthly Launch talk research reports and bi-annual research conferences. Moreover, students report they learn technical communication skills and feel inspired to participate in research by interacting with invited faculty seminars. MSRPP students have a significantly higher scholarship output as compared to non-MSRPP students. Early indicators show that students that participate in formal research programs have a measurable difference for matching into competitive residencies. Conclusions MSRPP students report that they have gained research competencies and technical skills to establish a baseline to promote their future research engagement. This study provides other peer medical schools with strategies to create the infrastructure to support and promote medical student research.

ANALYSIS OF FACTORS RELATED TO THE SELF-EFFICACY OF INDONESIAN RED CROSS (IRC) MEMBER STUDENTS IN CARRYING OUT AHA 2020 STANDARD CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION IN DENPASAR CITY

Abstract Background: Cardiac arrest is a condition of the heart that loses its function suddenly to pump blood throughout the body. Cardiac Arrest has events that take place very quickly and cannot be predicted so that it becomes an important concern in the world of health. Cardiopulmonary Resusitatiom (CPR) training programs for IRC students are increasingly emphasized to increase bystander CPR which is very low, while some cause low interest of students in doing CPR, especially mouth to mouth because they are afraid to do CPR because they feel wrong if they do CPR incorrectly, physically cannot do CPR, fear of harming the individuals helped, fear of contracting diseases contagious, the belief that the person has died. Objective: Analyze the factors of self- physicalizing (knowledge, attitude, motivation and awareness) of IRC students in providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in cardiac arrest patients Method: This research is a type of quantitative research with a cross sectional approach with purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out for 2 months once using a direct questionnaire. The number of samples in this study was 300 respondents of IRC member students in Denpasar City. The inclusion criteria in this study are IRC member students from universities who are active in lectures, active as members of IRC Denpasar City, attending basic training IRC members are young and willing to be respondents. Process research directly and also written on the consent sheet becomes a research respondent and is given informed consent. After getting approval, participants can do the entire questionnaire for 30 minutes. The analysis test carried out is univariate analysis, which describes the characteristics of research respondents, analysis using sperm, multivariate analysis using logistic regression tests. Results: The results of the study obtained that knowledge P value = 0.022, attitude p value 0.026, motivation p value 0.017 and awareness p value 0.050. Awareness is the most influential variable with student preparedness (OR= 1,192), which means that poor awareness will cause low efficacy of undergraduate nursing students in helping patients with cardiac arrest by 1 time compared to the efficacy of IRC member students who have good awareness after the variables of knowledge, attitude, and motivation are controlled. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between knowledge, attitudes, motivation and awareness with the efficacy of PMI member students in conducting CPR AHA 2020 where awareness is the most influential variable on the efficacy of IRC member students in conducting CPR AHA 2020.

Performance-based acceptance and commitment training in a collegiate flight program

Students in flight training programs experience high levels of stress and anxiety that may impede their performance on practical exams. The restrictive nature of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and perceived negative consequences of seeking mental health treatment further exacerbates these challenges. This study examined the efficacy of performance-based acceptance and commitment training (ACT) in enhancing psychological flexibility, resilience, and mental well-being as well as improving FAA practical examination outcomes among collegiate flight training students. A randomized controlled trial was used to compare outcomes between students receiving a six-week ACT intervention (n = 23) and a control group (n = 27). The planned sample size of 100 was not achieved, thus, the analyses were underpowered and should be cautiously interpreted. Results indicate significant improvements among intervention participants in anxiety sensitivity (g = 0.43) and psychological flexibility (g = 0.58) compared to those in the control group. However, no significant differences in examination pass rates or time to completion were found between groups. To examine idiographic differences, individual change scores were plotted, demonstrating the heterogeneity of effects between participants. Potential explanations for the intervention's lack of effect on practical exam performance are discussed and suggestions are given to improve future performance-based interventions in this unique context.

Foreign experience of software testing engineers training: analysis of educational standards and programs of American universities

The article aims to explore the U.S. educational system's approach to training software testing specialists, highlighting specific features and methodologies. The study involves analyzing key standards for IT engineer training in the USA, such as the ACM/IEEE Computer Science Curricula, ABET Accreditation Criteria, ISTE Standards for Educators, and CSTA K-12 Computer Science Standards, their overall context and targeting, as well as the inclusion of both fundamental and IT-specific disciplines into their content. In the study of each standard, particular emphasis was placed on defining the place and teaching methods of theory and practice of software testing in the university curriculum guidelines. As it was revealed in the analysis, despite the extremely similar interpretation of basic concepts and practices in the context of software testing, opinions about the methodology of their teaching and the need to study as a separate discipline, differ in a set of reviewed standards. Additionally, the research examines training programs at leading American universities, including MIT, Stanford, and Carnegie Mellon University, to identify how software testing and quality assurance are reflected in their curricula, covering full-time training programs for students in computer science, software engineering and similar related fields. The analysis examined programs in both general and basic disciplines in the context of information technology, and specific to a certain technological or organizational area, such as mobile device development or IT project management. The content of the subjects, the list of modules and lectures, as well as tasks for extracurricular work, available in open sources, was also analyzed and searched for topics related to quality assurance or software testing. As revealed in the study, in most technical universities testing is not covered within a separate discipline, but is taught as a part of ones related to development practices. However, some training programs, in particular the Master's level, still have disciplines, devoted exclusively to quality control, testing management and automation

MANGOU (Miyazaki Advanced New General Surgery of University) Wet Lab Training Relieves Anxiety About Surgical Skills in Surgical Education: A Cross-Sectional Study.

To increase the number of medical students or residents who want to become surgeons, we must evaluate our program that recruits new young surgeons. We planned surgical training programs for medical students and residents that we named the MANGOU (Miyazaki Advanced New General surgery Of University) training project in the Department of Surgery, Miyazaki University, Japan. From January 2016 through December 2022, we asked trainees who attended this training to complete questionnaires to evaluate their interest in surgery, confidence in surgical skills, and training. Scoring of the questionnaire responses was based on a 5-point Likert scale, and we evaluated this training prospectively. Among the 109 trainees participating in this training, 61 answered the questionnaires. Two participants found the training boring, but 59 (96.7%) enjoyed it. All of them answered "Yes" to wanting to participate in the next training. Respective pre- and post-training scores were as follows: confidence in surgical skills, 2.2 ± 1.0 and 3.0 ± 1.0 (p < 0.0001); interest in surgery, 4.2 ± 0.8 and 4.4 ± 0.5 (p = 0.0011); and willingness to become surgeons, 3.9 ± 0.7 and 4.1 ± 0.6 (p = 0.0011). All scores rose after MANGOU training. We planned MANGOU surgical wet lab training for medical students and residents that aimed to educate and recruit new surgeons. After joining the MANGOU training, the trainees' anxiety about surgery was reduced, their confidence in performing surgical procedures improved, they showed more interest in surgery, and they increased their motivation to become surgeons.

The Effectiveness of Circuit Training on Agility and Body Mass Index Among Secondary School Students in Putrajaya

The aim of this study was to determine whether a modified circuit training program for less fit secondary school students based on body mass index could improve their fitness levels. The study was designed as a pre and post quasi-experimental, with 20 students randomly selected, participating in eight weeks of circuit training program. The results showed that there was no significant difference in respondents' body mass index before and after (p=0.39) circuit training. However, there is a slight positive correlation on students' agility (r&gt;0.9). This suggests that respondents' fitness levels has a tendency to increse with a frequent implementation of circuit training program. In conclusion, this study suggests that modified circuit training can improve the agility of less fit students if implemented continuously.

Student interactions with ethical issues in the lab: results from a qualitative study

Student researchers encounter ethical issues daily, but little is known about their unique perspectives. This article presents the results of 30 qualitative semi-structured interviews exploring students’ views and experiences around ethical issues in research groups. During the interviews, students were asked to describe challenges and successes they have encountered in their lab, their conception of what counts as an “ethical issue in research,” and how they handle these issues when they arise. Against this background, the article discusses students’ conceptions of ethical issues in research environments, the types of issues students reported facing, how these issues were ultimately resolved, and finally, the factors, internal qualities, and lessons learned that help students thrive in research environments, as well as some of the challenges students face – especially international students. Many of the ethical challenges interviewees discussed focused on interpersonal issues, highlighting the intense collaboration most graduate students have with their colleagues and supervisors. Findings from this study point to the need for targeted training programs for students and faculty supervisors focusing on building mentoring relationships and finding space in the lab where open communication can occur around ethical research practices.

Autoethnography study: how I learned to do 3D printing as a rehabilitation practitioner

Additive manufacturing (3D printing) is increasingly utilized in healthcare. Some rehabilitation professionals employ 3D printing for orthoses, prostheses, and assistive technologies (AT). However, anecdotal evidence suggests that many practitioners have reservations about adopting 3D printing into their practices, and empirical research in this area is limited. The aim of the study was to document my experience while learning 3D printing. In this autoethnographic study, journal entries and photos of the artifacts were collected during the process of learning 3D printing. These data were analyzed using reflexive thematic analysis. Three themes were identified: Being motivated to learn 3D printing, Experiencing challenges and implementing possible solutions, and Achieving developmental milestones in learning 3D printing. These milestones offered practical insights and solutions for new learners by providing a roadmap for navigating the journey of learning 3D printing. This personal experience offered opportunities and posed challenges in the context of learning to use 3D printing in the rehabilitation field. It is hoped that this study will inspire others to explore 3D printing and potentially contribute to the development of 3D printing training programs for students and rehabilitation professionals.
