Experimental research on English vowel errors analysis

Our paper analyzed relevant acoustic parameters of people’s speech samples and the results that compared with English standard pronunciation with methods of experimental phonetics by phonetic analysis software and statistical analysis software. Then we summarized phonetic pronunciation errors of college students through the analysis of English pronunciation of vowels, we found that college students’ English pronunciation are easy occur tongue position and lip shape errors during pronounce vowels. Based on analysis of pronunciation errors, we put forward targeted voice training for college students’ English pronunciation, eventually increased the students learning interest, and improved the teaching of English phonetics.

Percepciones sobre el aprendizaje del diseño gráfico en los estudios universitarios de Periodismo en España: contenidos, utilidad y nivel de capacitación

This study aims to examine the situation of graphic design in the Journalism university students training in Spain through the perceptions of professionals and professors specializing in this area. The research tries to evaluate the presence of this field according to three main thematic viewpoints (contents, utility and training level), in order to discover how the abilities offered by these programs respond to the professional requirements. From the analysis of these parameters with a quantitative survey methodology, the article concludes that these studies are insufficient compared to the work demands.

A Proposed Model on Developing Students' Academic Writing Based on Critical Thinking

The acquisition of the four language skills; listening, speaking, reading and writing in English is a priority for students’ success at universities. Writing, in particular, represents one of the hardest skills to learn for students. However, most of the departments at universities insist that students should be skillful enough to write their essays, papers, and reports in English. The present study aims at developing university students’ writing skills by proposing a model that adopts critical thinking strategies in developing students' academic writing skills. The model is divided into three parts that correspond to the main characteristics of an academic paper. It covers the external framework of the academic paper and the analytic and persuasion throughout the paper, self-assessment suggestions of the written essay, and general guidelines. The method used is the descriptive method which depends on analyzing the literature and describing the adopted models to produce the proposed model. The instrument is a questionnaire consisting of the subcores of the model and the subjects are staff members at Department of European Languages and Curriculum and Instruction Department at University of Jeddah. In order to measure the validity and reliability of the model, the researcher use many types of validity measures like intrinsic validity, internal consistency validity along with seeking the opinions of university staff members which added weight to the model validity in training students to write academic papers. The results deduced prove that the model has reached an acceptable level of validity and reliability and can be used to train university students to write academic essays.

Formation of Legal Competences of University Students in the Condition of Education Informatisation

The ongoing dynamic changes in economic, political and social spheres reinforce the need for active, legally competent minded graduates of any type who can independently promote, plan and solve diverse social and professional tasks. The purpose of the article is aimed at improving the effectiveness of training university students for work and life in a rapidly changing information society. The article describes the didactic conditions of formation of legal competence of university students of non-legal areas of training with the use of information and communication techniques. There are presented results of experimental studies of the effectiveness of the proposed technique. This article is intended for teachers, researchers, heads of educational institutions involved in the design and implementation of the legal training of university students.

RELATION BETWEEN LEARNING STYLES, METHODS FOR OBTAINING INFORMATION AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS OF TURKISH UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

The aim of this descriptive study is to determine relation between learning styles, learning methods and academic achievement of university students. This study was conducted in 2014 and the sample was consisted of 130 university students training in second and forth levels from School of Health. We used Turkish version of VARK scale for determining learning styles. In this study, 60.0% of the students were using of multimodal and 40.0% were using unimodal learning styles. The kinesthetic modal was the most preferred among the unimodal learning styles. We found that the usage of visual and auditory learning styles was very low despite the content of nursing education programs. Nursing programs necessitate skills on problem solving in clinical education from first to fourth years which were based on patient education, treatment and care. Therefore academicians in nursing schools should encourage to students using active learning styles.

Влияние информационных технологий на физическую подготовленность студентов, занимающихся футзалом при спортивно-ориентированном физическом воспитании

Purpose: to determine the influence of usage informational technologies in sport-oriented physical education on physical background level of students engaged futsal. Material and Methods : in the research students (young man – n=40 ) of 18–20 year old were engaged. Methods : Analysis of literature sources formatted pedagogical experiment, maths statistics. Results: upon sum of two terms experiment with purposeful usage of informational technologies in sport-oriented physical education proved true improvement ( р <0,05– р <0,001) of test result that characterize strengths development (“Horizontal bar pull-ups ” – by 33,3%, “Sitting-ups of the body per 1 min” – by 21,1%), flexibility (“Sitting bend forward” – by 26,8%), speed and speed-and-strengths qualities (“100 m race” – by 4,6%, “Standing long-jump” – by 4,8%). Conclusion: the results confirm the arguments and prove the feasibility of the use of information technology in the sports-oriented physical training of students in universities.

Implementation of Pedagogical Innovations in the Electronic Educational Environment of the University

The relevance of the study is caused by the need to improve the training of university students on the basis of unification and amalgamation of various innovative tools and technologies into a single high-tech electronic educational environment. The article is devoted to a brief overview of innovative concepts of e-learning. Theoretical and empirical research methods were used in the study. The main content of the study is the analysis of innovative concepts of the development of modern e-learning: Personal Learning Environments, M-learning, BOYD, MOOC. The basic characteristics of these concepts, the benefits of their implementation, the basic requirements for the organization of educational process with their use are discussed. The model of implementation of pedagogical innovations which contributes to the development of smart-learning in electronic educational environment of the university is introduced. Due to the relevance of the issues discussed in the work, it may be interesting and useful to teachers and tutors of higher and secondary educational institutions in both theoretical and practical aspects. Participación social científico-tecnológica en la formación para la investigación de pregrado

La actividad investigativa de la universidad, no solo tiene la responsabilidad de formar para la investigación a los futuros profesionales sino que debe intervenir en la solución de problemas sociales en el orden empresarial, comunitario y grupal. En el presente artículo, se reflexiona sobre esta realidad y analiza las acciones que correlacionan la participación social en ciencia y tecnología con la formación para la investigación de los estudiantes universitarios. La revisión de la literatura se orientó a la búsqueda de textos científicos e investigaciones inéditas que abordan el tema a partir de los estudios de Ciencia, Tecnología y Sociedad (CTS). Dentro de los principales resultados se identifican iniciativas de investigación científico-estudiantil, consultorios de ciencia y tecnología, así como actividades de transferencia del conocimiento, lo que permite concluir que existe una correspondencia entre el proceso investigativo y el participativo, a través de los diferentes modos de producción de conocimiento en las universidades.

The Process of Building the Abstract of a Paper in the Context of a Writing Workshop for PhDs

Current studies agree on the need of training university students in various competences. Among them, writing stands out as an essential competence. This study analyzes the abstract produced by Spanish PhD candidates in the context of an academic writing workshop. These abstracts were rewritten as a result of peers’ and supervisors’ reviews. The purpose is to analyze the construction of this type of text in relation to its content categories. The results attest a series of challenges faced by students and help teachers in the design of their teaching instruction.

Absence of National Culture in Foreign Language Teaching and Intercultural Communication Competence Training of College Students in China Frontier Minority Areas

The absence of Chinese culture in foreign language teaching has a strong impact on the exchange between different cultures, and is also an obstacle to intercultural communication competence training. In general, English teaching level in China frontier minority areas is far behind that in developed areas, and shows its own teaching and cultural characteristics. In this paper, the composition of intercultural communication competence, the absence of foreign language teaching culture of college students in China frontier minority areas and the strategy of improving intercultural communication competence of college students were discussed. The characteristics of intercultural communication competence of college students in China frontier minority areas and the law of their intercultural communication competence training were then investigated in depth.

Aspects of Applying Distance Education Technologies in the System of University Students Training

~ ~ ~ The processes of informatization of education require considering changes of the informational space of the educational system. Taking into consideration Federal Law On Education in the Russian Federation, N 11-FZ dated February 28, 2012, Concepts of Development of Research and Innovation Activities in Russian universities, the main benchmark in the field of modernization of educational process should be real integration of education research, developments, introduction of new forms of practice. Universities' efforts on organization of profile distant education of pupils is worth noting. The article describes an approach to implementation of distant learning technologies for creating conditions for modernization of the educational process in the given context.

Використання засобів загальної та спеціальної фізичної підготовки у річному циклі підготовки студентів вищих навчальних закладів, які тренуються у секціях спортивного плавання

Purpose: to justify ratio means general physical training and special physical trainingin the annual cycle of training university students who train in sports sections swimming. Material and Methods: the study involved students G. S. Skovoroda HNPU aged 16–17 years, who were involved in the sport of swimming section. In the paper we used the following methods: analysis of scientific and methodological literature, teaching observations, educational testing, pedagogical experiment; methods of mathematical statistics. Results: by volume of training loads and improved ratio means general physical training and special physical training at different stages of the annual cycle of training university students who train in sports sections swimming. Conclusions: rational relationship means general and special physical training allows you to find the most effective ways of improving the process of preparing students fins and helps to improve the absolute athletic performance

Methodological Confluence to Understand Flor De Ceibo Ana María Casnati Guberna, Dr. Cognitive Analyst Abstract From 2007, Uruguay implanted a policy of Information and Communication Technology – ICT, which has three important features: i) universality in public education; ii) provision of computers for all students in primary and secondary education; iii) free access to ICTs for all families in the country. Learning, electronically mediated, is not restricted to the educational institutional environment because the insertion of telematics in everyday life is also promoted. In this scenario the Universidad de la República (UdelaR) creates Flor de Ceibo (FDC), a project that has two main objectives: i) to contribute to the training of college students committed to the reality of the country; ii) to collaborate with the development of this policy, generating spaces of learning and intervention. Professors guide a group of students from different degrees to work on telematics mediation in schools and communities. The research problem is to identify educational processes in line with the emergence of interactivity, considering a new communication dimension in relation to knowledge construction. It is assumed that relations with the knowledge and processes of construction and socialization of knowledge, in Multireferential Learning Environments mediated by ICTs, are tools that enhance new ways of learning for a intercultural citizen. The purpose of this article is to research the opportunities of university students’ training quality control efficiency increase. The presented article contains offers of optimization of students training quality monitoring systems. Industrial plans of goods optional quality control, adapted for system of professional education act as the basis of the presented work. Optimization of the automated testing procedures of knowledge by mathematical modeling and use of methods of consecutive quality control is made in the article. Influence of Cultural Conditions on the Use of ICT for Learning

The use of technology is widespread in all areas of life, particularly among young people and particularly in learning environments. In this sense, college students have incorporated these technologies in different media and used them for many years. The use of ICT among students taking the same subjects is very different because of the sociological diversity thereof and, in particular, their different cultures and countries. This is the case of Erasmus students, who must take the same subjects and with the same instruments than the national ones. Although both groups must show the same academic performance, their conditions are very diverse, including difficulties related to language. This article analyzes the relationship between learning styles (active, reflexive, theoretical and pragmatic) and the use of ICT in training university students, comparing between Erasmus and domestic ones. The REATIC survey was conducted among 37 third-year students from the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of A Coruña (Spain), distinguished four different modules: knowledge of ICT, use of ICT, assessment of ICT and ICT as learning style. Results showed differences in all modules and especially in the last module that analyzes the use of ICT for learning.

University basketball teaching is in need of feasible plans to cultivate compound talents to meet the social needs. The public basketball teaching design has also been constantly innovated to train university students into compound talents to satisfy the demand of today's society. Based on investigation and study on the basic situation of ordinary university basketball teaching, and combined with rich teaching experience, it proposes to innovate the old teaching mode of ordinary university public basketball class, and to construct the a mode that can satisfy the social needs. By doing so, it will improve the teaching quality and in turn make positive contribution to university basketball teaching.

Funding of person experience as a basis for professional and applied orientation of technical university student training

The article shows funding of "arithmetic operation" method for solving of linear equation systems in units of "Linear Algebra" and "Linear programming". It promotes understanding of relevant material by students of technical and economic institutes of higher education. Methods of Jordan- Gauss, Kramer and inverse matrix can be realized by a single scheme in Gauss table to provide significant savings in time and place of the solution of linear systems.
