ANEKA DISRUPSI PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA ARAB DI PONDOK PESANTREN

<p style="text-align: justify;"><em>Islamic boarding schools, as traditional Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, play a central role in preserving and promoting Islamic religious and cultural traditions. One of the important elements of education in Islamic boarding schools is the teaching of Arabic. Arabic is not only a means of understanding the teachings of Islam but also a gateway to the rich intellectual heritage of the Islamic world. This qualitative research uses open questionnaires as a data collection technique. The questionnaires were distributed to Arabic teachers in seven Islamic boarding schools in Situbondo. The results cite the strengths of Islamic boarding schools in the form of their long-standing tradition of teaching Arabic and Islamic culture, the presence of knowledgeable teachers, a focus on memorizing the Quran, and a communal learning environment. However, weaknesses in the traditional curriculum may overlook practical aspects such as the use of digital technology in Arabic language learning in the modern world. To improve Arabic language learning in Islamic boarding schools, it is important to address the practical aspects of the language, maximize opportunities for collaboration and adoption of technology, and address challenges such as cultural and social change and competition from formal educational institutions offering Arabic language instruction.</em></p>

THE ISLAMIC INTELLECTUAL NETWORK BETWEEN NUSANTARA AND CENTRAL ASIA IN THE 19TH AND 20TH CENTURY: AN IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS OF INTELLECTUAL TRACES, GENEALOGY AND KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER

This research investigates the Islamic intellectual network between Nusantara and Central Asia in the 19th and 20th centuries. The study examines the Islamic intellectual network pattern between Nusantara and Central Asia, including the underlying factors of the connection and its influence on Nusantara’s traditional Islamic educational institutions, namely Islamic Boarding School (pesantren). This research employs the historical method and cultural diffusion theory to help the analysis. The research identified a clear influence of the Islamic intellectual network on Nusantara ulama's scholarly output in the 19th and 20th centuries, evident in their works covering various subjects such as 'aqīdah, ḥadīth, fiqh, and tasawwuf. These works, known as Kitab Kuning, derived their name from the yellow papers on which they were commonly written and printed. We also found that al-Azhar (Egypt) and Ḥaramain (Mecca and Medina) were crucial in mediating the Islamic intellectual network between Nusantara and Central Asia. The establishment of pesantren by scholars returning from their studies in Egypt and Ḥaramain marked the final step in linking intellectual genealogy between Nusantara and Central Asia. The formation of the network primarily occurred through two key patterns: knowledge transfer facilitated by teacher-student relationships and the transmission of knowledge through the sanad (knowledge chain).

Transformation of Public Services at Nurul Huda Mosque Through Synergy Between the Smart Surau Program and Social Charity

Padang Panjang City, known as the “Kota Serambi Mekkah”, is determined to become one of the smart cities in West Sumatra. According to Mayor Regulation Number 37 of 2019 concerning the Smart City Masterplan, Padang Panjang City has initiated the smart surau program. The smart surau program aims to restore the pivotal role of surau (mosques) as traditional educational institutions collaborating with internet technology to guide the behavior of adolescents vulnerable to social issues. Masjid Jami’ Nurul Huda has been chosen as the pilot mosque in Padang Panjang to implement the smart surau program due to its collaboration with Amal Sosial program initiated by the mosque administrators. The research methodology utilized in this study is qualitative descriptive. Data collection techniques encompass direct observation, interviews, documentation, and audiovisual materials. Informant selection is performed using purposive sampling obtained from the interview results. Research findings indicate that the transformation of public services at Masjid Jami’ Nurul Huda through the smart surau and social welfare programs has a significant impact on meeting the spiritual, social, and religious needs of the surrounding community. Masjid Jami’ Nurul Huda has successfully adapted to the changing times and taken on a broader role in enhancing quality of life and strengthening social bonds within the community.

Baḥtsul Masāil at a Traditional Islamic Educational Institution in Aceh: Teungku Dayah's Contribution to the Development of Islamic Law

The global world has implications for the emergence of various contemporary problems and demands legal certainty for every Islamic legal issue. This research aims to examine Baḥtsul Masāil in Dayah as a traditional Islamic educational institution in Aceh, especially its contribution in responding to developments in contemporary Islamic law. This research uses a qualitative-normative method with a sociological approach to Islamic law. Data was obtained through interviews, observation and document study. The informants interviewed were Tengku Dayah in Aceh, observing the activities of Baḥtsul Masāil and the documents studied were journal articles, textbooks and books. The research results show that teungku dayah is able to answer contemporary Islamic law problems through Baḥtsul Masāil. This activity took the form of a focus group discussion involving professional staff from Islamic boarding schools and discussed various current issues from a legal perspective. In Baḥtsul Masāil uses the method of ilhaq and contextualization of the turats text. Ilhaq is achieved by equating law with problems that have not been answered by Islamic texts with problems that have been answered by Islamic texts, while contextualization of Islamic texts is achieved by interpreting Islamic texts in a contemporary context. The results of Baḥtsul Masāil are then disseminated to the community through community learning processes, recitations, or religious lectures. Thus, in terms of the sociology of Islamic law, Teungku Dayah and Dayah educational institutions as actors are able to contribute to contemporary Islamic problems and the problem of the vacuum of Islamic law in society can be overcome.

Research on the Impact of Organization Commitment on Traditional Chinese Medicine University Teachers' Innovative Work Behaviour

As a result of an imbalance of innovation, several countries' increase in productivity has stopped, which is why Education 4.0 promotes development. A world-class system of education that develops outstanding learners and cutting-edge concepts is essential, and talented teachers serve a key role in development—results from the current study on Innovative Work Behaviour (IWB) at Traditional Chinese Medicine University. Professors are discussed online. These research outcomes show that HE institutions significantly impact Organisation Commitment (OC) and IWB, with OC functioning as an initial step towards IWB. The paper intended to provide insight into how Higher Education (HE) institutions in the nation of China employ the principles of Traditional Chinese Medical Education Innovative Work Behaviour (TCMEWB) along with factors that might impact IWB analysis. The medical education on-the-job teachers' TCMEWB is investigated regarding their respective emotions, strengths, and adaptability. Similar to previous studies and current hypotheses, outcomes show that stress and unreasonable assumptions affect the relationship between self-confidence and TCMEWB, with both theoretical and practical impacts. The investigators in the southwest region of China analysed 500 teachers (F=75.5%; M = 24.5% ) and reported that IWB and the impact of OC dramatically improved academic achievement. The results of the study were examined using Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) and SPSS. Studies from the two statistical tests of weight (t-test and analysis of deviation) indicate that the mean OC of teachers at China's Traditional Chinese Medicinal Higher Education Institutions depends on demographic factors such as Experience, Education, and Salary. In order to figure out the level of OC among teachers, investigators evaluated several factors, including emotions, strength, and adaptability. The correlation and coefficients for these factors vary from 0.24 to 0.57.

Revolutionizing Business and Marketing Education: The MECCDAL Model and a Case Study from the American Institute of Business Experience Design

This article provides an in-depth analysis of the evolving landscape of business and marketing education, accentuated by technological advancements, globalization, and the emergence of digital competitors. I underscore the challenges confronting traditional educational institutions arising from tech giants like Google and innovative e-learning platforms such as Udemy. The exacerbation of these issues in the post-pandemic environment is marked by escalating mental health concerns, a deficiency in practical skills acquisition, shifting student preferences, and debates surrounding the value proposition of college tuitions and business qualifications. Despite efforts to integrate immersive technologies and experiential learning strategies, a noticeable absence of pragmatic skills and learner-centric pedagogies persists within higher education paradigms. I introduce MECCDAL—a holistic, execution-oriented seven-pillar framework tailored to navigate contemporary challenges within an AI-infused, mental wellness-aware post-pandemic context. MECCDAL is an acronym derived from Latin terminologies: M ens (mind), E xecutio (execution), C or (heart), C orpus (body), D igitus (digital), A nima (soul), and L ingua (language). Through a detailed case study conducted at the American Institute of Business Experience Design, I illustrate MECCDAL's efficacy in augmenting business and marketing educational delivery mechanisms while fostering both collective and individual well-being alongside enhanced innovation and implementation competencies among students.

PERAN PONDOK PESANTREN DALAM PENGEMBANGAN MASYARAKAT DI ERA GLOBALISASI

This article aims to analyze the role of Islamic boarding schools in community development in the era of globalization. So far, Islamic boarding schools are known to be limited to traditional religious educational institutions with kyai and santri components. However, currently, Islamic boarding schools have made great progress in various ways, not only as traditional religious educational institutions but also as pioneers of social transformation. Therefore, this research is important as a vehicle for communicating to the government or the wider community about the role of Islamic boarding schools in their development. Community development is a fundamental concept that underlines many well-established terms such as resource development, rural community development, community economic development, rural revitalization and community-based development. The method used in this research uses a qualitative approach with the nature of library research with data collection techniques obtained through relevant literature: journals, textbooks and online literature. The research results show that the role of Islamic boarding schools has been implemented well in community development, which shows the quality of social relations and planned and gradual progress, such as improving public services and facilities, increasing local government accountability, increasing community participation, improving leadership, building new institutions, and initiate economic and physical development. Initiating a Modern Pesantren with Agribusiness Skills as an Effort to Prosper the Community Ciherang Village, Kec. Ciomas, Kab. Bogor, West Java

Islamic boarding schools are traditional Islamic educational institutions that exist only in Indonesia, have become an integral part of the culture of Islamic education in Indonesia and are synonymous with studying the yellow book away from the hustle and bustle of the business world. The purpose of this research is to determine the education process, design an education model in a modern Indonesian Agro Boarding School with agribusiness skills. This research also conducted a SWOT analysis to determine management strategies, as well as the internalization process. The object of research is a modern boarding school in West Java. The research method used qualitative analysis using SWOT analysis. Collective data is done by distributing questionnaires and indept interviews. Informants used as data sources are boarding school administrators. The results prove that the educational process in pesantren is grouped into two parts of learning religious knowledge and enterpreunership skills. The enterprenership education model is designed according to the talents of the students in the field of agribusiness with each accompanied by a tutor. Based on the results of the Swot analysis, the management strategy that can be applied is a growth strategy and strengthens the internalization of management. Predisposition of Teachers in Turkey for Democratic School as An Alternative School Type

This research aims to uncover the perceptions of classroom teachers regarding the concept of 'democratic schools,' which have emerged as an alternative to traditional educational institutions. To achieve this objective, researchers developed a semi-structured interview form. Insights were gathered from 20 classroom teachers working in public primary schools in four districts affiliated with Izmir Province, selected through maximum diversity sampling method. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques. The primary findings obtained are as follows: The characteristics of stakeholders associated with the democratic school in teachers' minds are largely consistent with the features found in existing democratic schools. 'Love and respect,' 'equality and justice,' and 'honesty' are the predominant values delineated by teachers in their conceptualization of the democratic school. Participants believe that decision-making in the school entails equal voting rights for everyone, and each individual is responsible for the decisions made. Most teachers envisage democratic schools as being rich in classroom materials and equipment. Participants envision a classroom climate in a democratic school as 'peaceful and joyful,' characterized by 'mutual respect among individuals.' More than half of the teachers conceptualize that there are no examinations or assessments in the envisioned democratic school, while some imagine the implementation of multiple assessments. In the minds of participating teachers, decisions concerning student graduation or progression to the next grade in the democratic school are determined by the teacher, contingent upon specific conditions being met. In managing discipline within the democratic school as perceived by participating teachers, methods such as 'establishing communication and collaboration,' 'applying problem-solving strategies,' and 'focusing on the student' are employed. Despite the lack of experience in working within democratic schools and the majority's limited knowledge about them, teachers demonstrated a considerable inclination towards the concept of the democratic school in various aspects based on these findings.

Keberadaan Pondok Pesantren terhadap Masyarakat Sekitar

Pesantren is a traditional Islamic educational institution that serves various functions, such as instilling religious values, fostering creativity, and playing a role in community development. Pesantren also influences the religious attitudes of the surrounding community through quality religious education and the shaping of social attitudes. This research aims to analyze the impact of the presence of Pondok Pesantren Alfattah on the religious attitudes of the surrounding community. Pondok pesantren is an Islamic educational institution with a crucial role in shaping religious and moral values in society. This study discusses Pondok Pesantren Alfattah as the object of study, located in the Buduran Subdistrict. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data is gathered through in-depth interviews with community leaders, pesantren instructors, and several residents living around the pesantren. Additionally, participatory observation is used to understand the day-to-day activities at the pesantren and their impact on the surrounding community. The research results reveal the positive impact of the existence of Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) on the religious attitudes of the community within a radius of 0.2-2.2 kilometers from Pondok Pesantren Al-Fattah. Data collection methods involve interviews, observations, and the collection of relevant documents. Data is analyzed inductively to draw general conclusions about the pesantren's impact on the religious attitudes of the surrounding community.

The Evolution of Islamic Educational Institutions in North Sumatra Indonesia

This article explores the transformation of Islamic educational institutions in North Sumatra, Indonesia, focusing specifically on pesantren and madrasahs. This article used a qualitative approach that integrates historical, social, and philosophical analysis to examine changes and developments in the Islamic education system. The findings reveal that the evolution from traditional educational institutions to modern ones significantly impacts Islamic education approaches and practices, including management, learning strategies, and curriculum development tailored to contemporary educational needs. The discussion highlights the importance of pesantrens and madrasahs within Indonesia's national education framework and how these institutions adapt to the challenges of the times. The conclusion emphasizes the critical role of Islamic educational institutions in shaping and maintaining Indonesia's cultural and religious identity while providing education relevant to modern demands. This research offers insights into how Islamic educational institutions in North Sumatra endure and thrive amidst social and educational changes.

Pondok Pesatren are the oldest traditional educational institutions in transferring Islamic values to Indonesia. So when we see how the Salafiyah Islamic Boarding School Sidogiri Pasuruan, East Java, which is very consistent with its traditional pesantren education, was able to develop a modern business within the cooperative space of the Sidogiri Islamic Boarding School, and has even established three subsidiary companies within it, namely: PT. Sidogiri Mitra Utama, PT Sidogiri Mandiri Utama, PT. Sidogiri Pandu Utama. Based on the reality above, researchers want to understand the processing of Pondok Pesatrenin encouraging independence. This research intends to find answers regarding: first, how are the efforts to manage the Sidogiri Islamic Boarding School so that it can become an economically independent Islamic boarding school; second, how is the business analysis of the Sidogiri Islamic Boarding School Canvas Model. Based on its character, a qualitative approach was used in this study, through Peter L Barger's social construction theory analysis framework, while the research data was obtained from various sources through in-depth interviews, participant observation or observation, field notes. (fieldnotes) and documentation. This research resulted in the following results; the efforts of the Sidogiri Islamic Boarding School to reconstruct its management so that it can become an economically independent Islamic boarding school is carried out by running a business professionally. With the support of human resources for students who have good morals and a good work ethic, the management of the school unit. In the business model canvas of the Sidogori Islamic Boarding School, from all elements it is very clear that alumni play a very important role in expanding channels and customer relationships. SWOT analysis of social entrepreneurship-based Pondok Pesantren management at Pondok Pesantren Sidogiri can formulate future strategies for business management that will run well in the future One of the strategies proposed based on the SWOT analysis carried out is, open branches in various strategic locations, not only around the Pondok Pesantren Sidogiri.

Pendidikan Pesantren di Zaman Teknologi antara Tradisi dan Modernitas

Islamic boarding schools, as traditional Islamic educational institutions, have become an integral part of the history of education in Indonesia. However, with the emergence of modern technology, Islamic boarding schools are faced with new challenges that require adaptation to current developments. This article explores the dynamics of Islamic boarding school education in facing the technological era, exploring how these institutions try to maintain traditional values while still taking advantage of technological advances. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and participant observation at several leading Islamic boarding schools. The findings show that Islamic boarding schools face a dilemma between preserving traditions and responding to the demands of the times. Several Islamic boarding schools have succeeded in integrating technology into their curriculum without sacrificing fundamental Islamic values. However, challenges in managing the impacts of modernity are also visible, including the potential for changes in social and spiritual values among santri. This article provides insight into Islamic boarding schools' efforts to bridge the gap between tradition and modernity. The practical and strategic implications of this research can provide guidance for Islamic boarding schools and other stakeholders in developing education that is relevant to the times without losing the essence of Islamic boarding school education which has become a characteristic of educational culture in Indonesia.

Dinamika Radikalisme di Pesantren: Tinjauan terhadap Isu dan Tantangan

Islamic boarding schools, known as pesantren, play a crucial role as traditional Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia and have been a focal point in discussions surrounding radicalism. This research aims to uncover the dynamics of radicalism that may occur within the pesantren environment and analyze the contributing factors to the spread of radical ideologies among the students. The research methodology employs a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and content analysis of relevant literature. The findings indicate that while pesantren play a significant role in shaping Islamic character and identity, they are also susceptible to the influence of radical ideologies. Factors such as economic inequality, social dissatisfaction, and a lack of inclusive education contribute to the emergence of radical attitudes among the students. Addressing the challenge of radicalism in pesantren involves enhancing understanding of moderate Islamic teachings, strengthening critical education, and fostering collaboration among the government, society, and pesantren. Prevention efforts should also focus on improving the well-being of pesantren, enhancing teacher capacity, and implementing inclusive educational approaches to minimize the potential for radicalization within pesantren communities. This research contributes to a better understanding of radicalism issues in pesantren and provides a foundation for the development of holistic and sustainable policies and prevention programs.

Strengthening the Disciplinary Character Education of Santri through Discipline Development in Islamic Boarding Schools

Strengthening disciplinary character education through disciplinary development is an inseparable part of Islamic boarding schools. As traditional Islamic educational institutions, Islamic boarding schools have broader goals than simply transmitting religious knowledge. One of the main goals of Islamic boarding schools is to form an Islamic character in students. Discipline is a means of creating attitudes and behaviors that are contrary to the teachings of the Islamic religion, including obedience, patience, and responsibility. This research aims to find and explain discipline development activities in strengthening character education in Islamic boarding schools. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with a field focus at the Al-Istiqamah Ngatabaru Modern Islamic Boarding School, Central Sulawesi. Data collection methods are carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis method uses data reduction techniques, presentation, verification, and conclusions. The research found that strengthening disciplinary character education and developing disciplinary character were two important activities at the Al-Istiqamah Ngatabaru Modern Islamic Boarding School, South Sulawesi. Through these two activities, the disciplined character of students can be realized to support various religious activities in Islamic boarding schools. From this disciplined character in participating in religious activities, students become individuals who master a lot of religious knowledge and always behave well in everyday life.

Institutional Pesantren in the Coil of Kurnas and Divine Mission

Research explores the institutional role of Islamic boarding schools in developing "Kumparan Kurnas" and fulfilling their divine mission. Using a qualitative approach, the study analyzes the internal dynamics of the Islamic boarding schools, particularly in managing and implementing "Kumparan Kurnas," as well as how they understand and actualize their divine mission. Results indicate that Islamic boarding schools are not merely traditional educational institutions but also function as spiritual and cultural centers. "Kumparan Kurnas," as a form of institutional development, serves as a means to support the sustainability of Islamic boarding schools in fulfilling their divine mission. The involvement of stakeholders, including students, kyai (teachers), and the local community, also plays a crucial role in the successful implementation.

Reconstruction of Tafsir Learning in Dayah Aceh

Dayah or pesantren as a traditional Islamic educational institution that has given birth to many Acehnese scholars. The existence and number of dayah in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam is increasing. However, the fact is not balanced with innovations in learning methods, especially interpretation learning. This study aims to provide a detailed picture related to tafsir learning in Dayah Aceh. This research uses qualitative methods with a library research approach. Based on the results of the study, it was found, among others, that the learning of interpretation of most of Dayah Aceh uses the qodim (non-classical) system so that the role of students is limited. The existence of this phenomenon requires the reconstruction of interpretive learning in Dayah Aceh through the use of discovery or inquiry-discovery learning strategies; mastery of learning strategies; Unit Learning Strategies and Reception Learning Strategies

Strengthening Brand Identity: Embracing Local Wisdom through Character Education Management

The focus of this study is to investigate the role and implementation of character education planning in Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School in maintaining the institution's brand identity and strong local values. This study discusses the dynamics of communication in the pesantren environment and the application of attribution theory in understanding community perceptions. This study aims to explore how communication takes place in the context of pesantren and how attribution theory is used to understand the way people interpret messages and actions from pesantren. The research method used is a case study by analyzing communication interactions in certain pesantren and interviewing related community members. The results showed that communication in pesantren produces; self-awareness, optimization of communication, building a positive image, public education, and collaboration. Attribution theory helps understand how society assigns meaning and interpretation to information received from pesantren. These findings provide valuable insight into the importance of effective communication in building a positive image and increasing public understanding of pesantren. The implication of this study is to provide guidance for traditional Islamic educational institutions in strengthening brand identity and local values through a planned character education approach.

Guardian Foster Service Program: Patterns of Handling Student Bullying Using An Ethnoparenting Approach

This research aims to analyze the Guardian Care Service Program as a strategy for handling student bullying by implementing an ethnoparenting approach in Islamic boarding schools. Qualitative research methods were used to gain an in-depth understanding of how foster carers involve cultural values in handling bullying cases and guiding students according to the local context. Research findings show that the Foster Care Service Program is an approach that responds to cultural dynamics in Islamic boarding schools, where foster carers play a central role in creating a safe and supportive environment. This program integrates local cultural and ethical values in developing santri, creates contextual anti-bullying policies, and increases community involvement. The results of this research provide valuable insight regarding the effectiveness of the ethnoparenting approach in overcoming bullying and supporting students' positive growth in the Islamic boarding school environment. The implications of these findings can help develop similar programs in traditional Islamic educational institutions and contribute to further understanding regarding the role of foster carers and ethnoparenting approaches in creating an educational environment that is inclusive, safe, and based on local cultural values.
