The authors report differential elastic cross section measurements for electron scattering in helium at incident electron energies of 7.5, 10.0, 12.5, 15.0 and 17.5 eV and at scattering angles of 0-130 degrees . The measurements were made using a new type of electron spectrometer employing co-axial cones to analyse the electrons. A phaseshift analysis is applied to the data and the results are compared with recent theoretical and experimental work. Total elastic and momentum transfer cross section values are also derived from the present measurements and compared with recent measurements and calculations.
