This is a simple splint which I have found very effective. It is useful in the treatment of baseball finger, mallet finger<sup>1</sup>or "drop phalangette,"<sup>2</sup>and arthritic flexion of the end phalanx. The principle may be useful in the treatment of hammer toe. It is made of aluminum, although duralumin, copper, brass, German silver or silver may be used. It is very light, self-retaining and easily adjustable to any position, including hyperextension. It is permeable to the roentgen ray, can be immersed in water, and is inexpensive. The splint can be made to fit so snugly that it must be "soaped" or wet to be removed, like a tight band ring. It can be worn under a glove, and one of my patients drives her car while wearing it. A pattern is made as shown in Figure 1. The pattern is then shaped to that of Figure 2
