The development of teaching materials based on problem solving exploration with microsoft kaizala applications

The effectiveness of implementing online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic has not been satisfactory in terms of problem-solving abilities. The presentation of teaching materials presented in the online platforms used has not been able to identify the extent of student understanding in problem-solving exploration. Therefore, this research aims to produce Kaizala teaching materials based on problem-solving exploration. The ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model was used in this research to produce these teaching materials. The subjects of this research trial were grade VIII junior high school students in a public school in Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, Palembang. The choice of the place for this research was based on the fact that the mathematics learning carried out at the school was by utilizing social media platforms. The instruments used in this research consisted of validation sheets of material, language, presentation, and problem-solving integration, a questionnaire on the practicality of teaching materials, and a problem-solving ability test to assess the effectiveness of the developed teaching materials. The results showed that: (1) the developed teaching materials were in the valid criteria; (2) the practicality of the developed teaching materials are at very high and high criteria; (3) The developed teaching materials also meet the criteria of effectiveness, whereas many as 82 percent of the test subjects obtained a score of not less than 75 and the effect size value belongs to the large category. Thus, it can be concluded that the developed teaching materials are suitable for supporting and facilitating students in problem-solving exploration activities.

DESKRIPSI HASIL BELAJAR SISWA DITINJAU DARI KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIKA

This study describes students' mathematics learning outcomes in terms of their problem-solving abilities in rectangular material. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Suwawa in the odd semester of 2019/2020, with 22 students as research subjects. The research instrument used an essay test to measure students 'mathematics learning outcomes and interviews to obtain further information regarding students' mathematics learning outcomes. The indicators used to determine students' mathematics learning outcomes in terms of problem-solving abilities are 1) the ability to understand the problem; 2) the ability to plan problems; 3) problem-solving skills; 4) recheck ability. The results showed that the percentage of completeness of students' mathematics learning outcomes with high problem-solving abilities was 18.18%, the percentage of students' mathematics learning outcomes completeness with moderate problem-solving abilities was 68.18%, and the percentage of students' mathematics learning outcomes completeness with low problem-solving abilities was 68.18%. 13.64%.

Students’ Errors in Mathematical Problem-Solving Ability on the Triangular and Quadrilateral Materials at Junior High Schools (SMP) Jakarta

This research was aimed to analyze student's errors on triangular and quadrilateral material in terms of problem-solving ability. This research was motivated by the low problem-solving ability and errors often made by students during the mathematics learning. The research approach was descriptive-qualitative that was done by analyzing the students' difficulty in solving description problems. The techniques of data collection were observation, learning outcomes tests, and interviews. The data were analyzed qualitatively based on Newman Error Analysis. Based on the results of the research, it was found that students' reading errors were in the high, medium, and low categories. Students' comprehension errors were in the medium and low categories, students' transformation errors were in the high, medium, and low categories, students' process skills errors were in the high, low, and medium categories and students writing errors (encoding error) were in the high, medium, and low categories.

Effects of a System Thinking-Based Simulation Program for Congestive Heart Failure.

This study evaluated a system thinking-based simulation program for the care of patients with congestive heart failure. Participants were 67 undergraduate nursing students from a nursing college in Seoul, South Korea. The experimental group was given a 4-hour system-thinking program and a 2-hour simulation program, whereas the control group had a 4-hour case study and a 2-hour simulation program. There were significant improvements in critical thinking in both groups, but no significant group differences between educational methods (F = 3.26, P = .076). Problem-solving ability in the experimental group was significantly higher than in the control group (F = 5.04, P = .028). Clinical competency skills in the experimental group were higher than in the control group (t = 2.12, P = .038). A system thinking-based simulation program is a more effective learning method in terms of problem-solving ability and clinical competency skills compared to the existing simulation program. Further research using a longitudinal study is needed to test the long-term effect of the intervention and apply it to the nursing curriculum.

Comparison of Classification Judgments Scaling Methods (2018 sayısına kalacak)

In this study, 264 performance tasks 6, 7 and 8th grade secondary school students answered will be examined by the scaling method with classification criteria to determine whether classification judgements differ or not obtained from the scores of 0-15 by four raters with analytical and holistic rubrics (“0-3” beginning level, “4-6” developable, “7-9” apprentices, “10-12” headworker, “13-15” master). The research is based on descriptive research with the dimension of not aiming generalization and revealing the present situation. In the study, data were collected with two performance tasks, including evidence of validity and reliability and rubrics related to these tasks. As a result of the research, it is seen that scale values and orders of classification judgements of four raters for 264 performances in terms of problem solving ability can be partially changed according to rubric type and the method used. While the scaling method does not cause any difference in the order of scale values in the case of using holistic rubric; it is seen that the rank order of the scale obtained from the B full data matrix and the scale sequences obtained from the B rank numerical solution and D state full matrices are different in the case of using analytical rubric.

Effects of a Resilience Enhancement Program on Self-efficacy, Problem Solving Ability, and School Adjustment of Middle School Students

Purpose: This study was done to examine the effects of a resilience enhancement program for middle school students. Methods:The research design was a quasi-experimental pre-and-post-test control and experimental groupmethodological comparison study. The participantsfor thestudy were 124 (experimental=60, control=64) middle school students in G city. The experimental group received the program for eight sessions. The control group did not receive any treatment. From April to June 2009 data were collected using self-report structured questionnaires, andwere analyzedusing theKolmogorov-Smirnovtest, x 2 -test, Fisher'sexact test, and t-test with SPSS/WIN 15.0 program. Results: After the treatment, significant differences were found between the experi- mental and control groups in terms of problem solving ability (t=2.52 p=.007) and school adjustment (t=1.66, p=.004), but not inlevel of self-efficacy (t=0.80, p=.212). Conclusion:The findingsindicate that thisprogramcan be used in school based practice as an effective nursing intervention for adolescents.
