An exploration of in-service teachers’ framing, instrumental, and core design judgments in dynamic decision-making for technology integration

Dynamic decision-making plays a critical role in teachers’ instructional design and technology integration processes; it directly influences the design and development of teaching practices, student learning experiences, and learning environments. However, limited studies have investigated how teachers engage in dynamic decision-making processes in designing instruction and technology integration, wherein teachers are involved in multiple types of design judgments that inform their design decisions for instruction and technology integration. The purpose of this study was to explore teachers’ framing, instrumental, and core judgments that were intertwined in dynamic decision-making for technology integration. The study utilized the critical decision method approach to investigate teachers’ three prioritized design judgments in dynamic decision-making. The findings of this study helped us gain a better understanding of teachers’ dynamic decision-making processes, pedagogical reasoning, and design judgments while designing instruction for technology integration. It also informs professional development strategies to develop teachers’ instructional design decision-making skills for technology integration.

The coupling and coordination of digital economy and manufacturing transformation and upgrading for industry 5.0 in Hebei Province

In the context of the widespread application of digital technologies such as the Internet, big data, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing, digital transformation in the manufacturing sector has become an important engine to promote high-quality economic development in Hebei Province. This paper aims to objectively analyze the current situation of industrial integration between the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei digital economy and the manufacturing industry, and conduct level measurement, so as to promote the in-depth integration and development of the digital economy and manufacturing industry in Hebei Province, so that the manufacturing enterprises in Hebei Province can rebuild their competitive advantages in the future development, finally realize digital transformation, and promote the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry in Hebei Province. Therefore, it is very important to carry out empirical research on the integrated development of digital economy and manufacturing industry in Hebei Province. First of all, this paper constructs the index evaluation system of digital economy and manufacturing industry respectively, takes the relevant data of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region in recent five years as data samples, uses entropy weight-TOPSIS method to measure the level of digital economy development and manufacturing industry transformation, and uses the coupling coordination degree model to measure the level of industrial integration of the two. The final results show that: (1) The development level of digital economy in Hebei Province fluctuates greatly, and there is still a certain gap with Beijing and Tianjin, but the future development potential of digital economy is huge. (2) The transformation level of manufacturing industry in Hebei Province shows a trend of fluctuation and rise on the whole, and the development trend is good, and the gap between Hebei Province and developed regions is gradually narrowing. (3) The integration of digital economy and manufacturing industry in Hebei Province has a good development trend, but there is still a certain gap with Beijing and Tianjin, and there are problems of inadequate, unstable and unbalanced industrial integration. Finally, based on the research conclusions, suggestions are put forward to promote the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, improve the level of digital economy and manufacturing integration of industrial convergence development, raise the level of digital infrastructure construction, and raise the level of science and technology innovation. This paper reveals the mechanism of digital economy affecting the high-quality development of manufacturing industry, studies the whole process of digitalization, information technology and intelligence integration into the development of manufacturing industry, and fully releases the positive effect of digital economy driving the high-quality development of manufacturing industry, which has important theoretical and practical significance for promoting the high-quality development of manufacturing industry and formulating relevant industrial policies.

CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS FOR SCALING DATA FLOWS IN THE INDUSTRY 4.0 ECOSYSTEM IN INDUSTRY AND BUSINESS

The information technology integration processes into manufacturing and logistics are often described by the term "Industry 4.0". This term includes various approaches in digitalization, automation and interconnection in various industrial sectors. The integration of advanced technologies into manufacturing creates large flows of data that conventional industry information systems are often unable to process and respond to in a timely manner. That can create delays and errors that can lead to inefficiencies in supply chains, delays in production, and communication between industrial sectors in addition in problems of transparency and accountability of information systems in the "Industry 4.0" ecosystem, problems with security, data integrity, real-time process tracking, etc. Therefore, it is an important task to research new methods of managing data flows in information systems in the "Industry 4.0" ecosystem, which can improve interaction and accelerate the adoption of information technologies in industry and logistics.

The Role of Modern Information Technologies in Financial Analysis and Market Forecasting

"Modern information technologies have undergone significant transformations and have become a key element in financial analysis and market forecasting, which have created new tools for influencing the dynamics of the development of global economic processes. The strengthening of the role of technologies of big data analysis, processing of communication and information networks create new approaches to the implementation of financial analysis, ensuring greater accuracy of forecasts and efficiency of investment management. The purpose of the article is to study the role of modern information technologies in the transformation of financial analysis, forecasting and identification of trends facing financial analysts. The article describes the process of technology integration, which significantly increases the efficiency of financial market analysis and allows governments and companies to better adapt to the changing conditions of the global economic environment. The obtained research results indicate a steady trend towards increasing the role of information technologies in the financial sector, which requires specialists to constantly update their knowledge and skills for the effective use of these tools. The conclusions of the conducted research emphasize the importance of integrating technologies into financial analysis and forecasting, and strengthening the need to develop new strategies and approaches for using digital innovations in the financial sphere. Special attention in the article is paid to the prospects of development of software, information and communication sphere in providing financial analysis and forecasting to improve future innovative trends and challenges that may face the economic global space."

A multi-centric investigation of technology integration in health professions education: The importance of educators’ Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge

The widespread acknowledgment of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as a fundamental component of educational strategies is a key context for understanding the findings of our study, which focused on the use of technology by educators in higher education, particularly in the health professions domain. This study examines technology usage patterns and factors influencing active implementation of technology among health professions educators. A cross-sectional survey involving 202 educators from six institutions in Morocco reveals their high confidence in their Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK), notably in Pedagogical and Content domains. The study highlights a prevalence of passive digital learning activities over active approaches. Educators actively employing technology display enhanced TPACK, emphasizing the significance of TPACK development for effective technology integration in teaching practices. Among those with a good level of active technology use, a majority (102 out of 119) have a high TPACK level, and 54 out of 83 of those categorised as low-level participants have a low TPACK level. The findings contribute valuable insights with both theoretical and practical implications for educators in the health professions, emphasizing the significance of aligning technology use with effective instructional practices in this specialized field. Further research should be pursued with diverse methodological approaches to gain a deeper comprehension of the technology integration process in the health profession domain.

Enhancing Student Engagement and Learning Outcomes through Interactive Approaches in College Vocal Music Instruction

This study investigates the enhancement of student engagement and learning outcomes in college vocal music instruction at Bozhou University, Anhui Province, China, through the implementation of interactive approaches. Recognizing the pivotal role of music education in shaping artistic and academic development, the research addresses the current challenges in student engagement and identifies the pressing need for innovative instructional strategies. The study employs a qualitative research design, conducting in-depth interviews with 25 undergraduate students to explore their perceptions of current vocal music instruction and the impact of interactive methodologies. Findings reveal diverse student perspectives on teaching methods, engagement levels, collaborative learning, technology integration, and assessment processes. The study highlights the potential of interactive elements, such as active learning strategies and technology-assisted instruction, to positively influence student engagement. Furthermore, it explores the implications of interactive approaches on learning outcomes, emphasizing holistic skill development and leveraging technology for effective learning facilitation. The discussion outlines practical implications for curriculum design, educator professional development, and the creation of a supportive learning environment. The findings contribute valuable insights to the ongoing discourse on effective music education strategies, providing a foundation for curriculum refinement and innovation in the evolving landscape of collegiate music education.

The Influence of Context Factors on Cooperation in IS Integration Projects for Horizontal Mergers

IS integration projects for horizontal mergers of large organizations have received scant attention from IS researchers. This study addresses this shortcoming by collecting and analyzing Technology and Social integration process data during the integration planning and implementation phases of a multi-year IS integration project for the horizontal merger of two large competitors. Using a power-dependence perspective to interpret our findings, we develop a mid-range propositional theory to explain how and why organization-level context factors influenced the cooperative behaviors of legacy employees participating in horizontal mergers and the success of IS integration processes.

Exploring Thai EFL pre-service teachers’ technology integration based on SAMR model

This study investigated how Thai EFL pre-service teachers (PSTs) use technology in their classrooms and the level of substitution, augmentation, modification, and redefinition (SAMR) they implement. Seven English education majors enrolled in the course “teaching internship 2” in their fourth year at a Thai university participated in the study. Due to COVID-19, the participants were trained to teach online, but during their teaching practicum, they were required to teach in a traditional on-site setting. Because of this novel arrangement, it was essential to investigate how these PSTs incorporate technology into the classroom. For the purpose of analyzing the process of educational technology integration, this study employed SAMR model. Observations and semi-structured interviews were used as data collection methods. Throughout the semester, observations were conducted twice. SAMR observation form was used to investigate how PSTs used technology in their teaching. Participants were asked to participate in an interview after each observation. The interviews included open-ended questions based on the conceptual framework of SAMR. Observation results show that technological tools were used to engage students, check comprehension, create teaching content, and evaluate students’ understanding. For the study, the participants were divided into three groups based on the extent of technological tools used. One participant was deemed to be in the substitution stage, five participants in the augmentation stage, and only one participant in the modification stage. The results of the interviews indicated that teacher motivation and the availability of ICT equipment, as well as familiarity with technological tools, played a significant role in PSTs’ integration of technology into the classroom.<b> </b>The study’s conclusions are helpful in developing PSTs’ technology integration in EFL classrooms. SAMR model should be introduced to PSTs to let them critically reflect on and develop their own technology integration.

Management of Digital and Intellectual Technologies Integration in Education Informatization

The aim of the study is to analyze, systematize, and formulate scenarios for managing the integration of digital and intelligent technologies in the informatization of education based on the influence of the factors of the existing external environment. It was shown that digital transformation is a process of digital technology integration into all aspects of business activities, requiring fundamental changes in technology, culture, operations, and principles of creating new products and services. Simulation models of digital and intelligent technologies in informatization of education are proposed. Possible scenarios for the development of the education system are described: inertial and transformational. A new viable base scenario is proposed, which can be called a divergent, or school dilution scenario. It is illustrated that these three rather general scenarios show the possible place and role of digital and intellectual technologies in the changes taking place in the informatization of education today.

Leveraging digital technology in nursing

The expansion of nurse-led digital technology in acute and critical care hospital units holds promising potential for improving the quality and efficiency of patient care. Recognizing the need to adapt traditional models of care to accommodate a growing shortage of nurses and higher acuity patients, this article outlines three virtual nursing initiatives that provide real-time support to bedside caregivers and enhance patient safety. A new hybrid model of nursing care, which integrates virtual intensive care nursing, acute care telenursing, and remote telesitting services into clinical nursing workflow, maximizes the size and skill mix of both the remote and bedside nursing teams. Thoughtful stakeholder planning and a collaborative technology integration process has also enhanced sustainability efforts. In this way, new virtual nursing services complement and extend the impact of the primary clinical nursing team, offering tools and structural support that streamlines care delivery processes and eases workload burden without sacrificing the quality of patient care.

Sports Training Management Model Based on Big Data Digital Technology under Complex Human Environment

Data physical education process is also the practical process of information technology and college physical education curriculum integration. In order to improve the accuracy of college sports training management evaluation, we propose a golden sine algorithm (GoldenSA) based on back propagation neural network (BPNN) model whose performance is affected by its parameter selection to optimize BPNN (GoldSA-BPNN). The quality evaluation model of physical education in higher education institutions is based on GoldenSA. Firstly, a multi-indicator evaluation system of university sports training management based on hierarchical analysis was constructed from four dimensions, including teaching contents, teaching methods, teaching attitudes, and teaching effects; secondly, the scores of 12 secondary indicators of university sports training management evaluation were taken as the input vector of BPNN.

The relationship between Turkish high school administrators' technology leadership self-efficacies and their attitudes and competencies towards technology use in education

A correlational study was conducted to examine the relationship between high school administrators’ technology leadership self-efficacies and their attitudes and competencies towards technology use in education. The participants were 338 school administrators (67 administrators and 271 vice administrators) working in 112 high schools located in the Anatolian side of Istanbul and the data were collected through a questionnaire. According to the findings, the school administrators' technology leadership self-efficacies were all sufficient and they had positive attitudes and sufficient competencies towards using technology. In addition, there were positive relationships between school administrators' technology leadership self-efficacies, their attitudes towards the use of technology and their competencies in using technology in education. Similarly, there was a positive relationship between the attitudes and the competencies of school administrators towards using technology. Conducted with a group of school administrators, accepted as the technology leaders of the school, this study sheds light on the relationship between the necessary school administrator characteristics in technology integration processes. The present study is indeed valuable in exploring the relationship among these three critical factors influencing the school principals’ effectiveness in the technology integration process. Examining these important school administrator characteristics, this study will cast light on the ways through which creating a digital school culture by improving their leadership qualifications may become possible.

Technology-integration experiences in ELT classrooms as an effective tool: a theoretical study

The aim of the research is to highlight the importance of ICT tools in the learning process and to present a way for integrating English language instruction with technology. EFL classrooms are becoming increasingly dependent on technology, hence this study will focus on the theoretical issues of integrating technology into the classroom. English education and learning must incorporate the use of technology in order to improve students' listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills. Using hardware and software technology in English language instruction and learning can provide teachers and students with a number of advantages, including the ability to access materials at any time, cost-effectiveness, and the ability to learn quickly in a short period of time. Consequently, the EFL classroom must embrace digital technology. Unfortunately, a great number of teachers are not technology savvy. The paper will use exhaustive theoretical study of the previous research to exemplify the importance of technology so that teachers could be acquainted with the importance of digital technology and able to implement it in language class. This study showed that the process of technology integration has to be deliberate and planned so that the use of technology, which is a fundamental task for instructors, can make a major contribution. Therefore, it should not be forgotten that technology must be incorporated properly into teaching and learning English and, unless integration is in effect, technology may have a detrimental influence on the learning process of students.

From digital competences to technology integration: Re-formation of pre-service teachers’ knowledge and understanding

In this study, a training was carried out in order to improve pre-service teachers’ digital competences with regards to technology integration based on the DigComp framework. In this regard, participants’ progress in digital competence and technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) were analysed. In addition, what kind of digital knowledge and skills they utilize in the technology integration process were investigated. As a result, it was found that while pre-service teachers showed progress in the sub-dimensions of TPACK-deep, they made use of their skills in information and data literacy, communication and collaboration, content creation, safety, and problem-solving. In addition, positive correlations were found between digital competences and TPACK competences. Consequently, the roles of digital competences should be considered for successful technology integration.

Structural transformation of the economy: practical aspects

The purpose of the article is to consider the practical aspects of the structural transformation of economy. Over the past few decades, absolutely all national economies have undergone structural changes, regardless of their size, economic system and all other political or economic differences. The transformation of structures was associated with many factors, including institutional changes, technological changes, the widespread introduction of the results of scientific and technological progress, globalization and integration processes. At the same time, it should be noted that not all structural changes had a positive effect for all countries, even though the changes had almost the same trend of growth in the share of the service sector, a decrease in the share of agriculture and manufacturing. This article is an attempt to systematize the main trends and consequences of structural transformations in the world. The authors put forward the hypothesis that the world economy tends to “servicization” and deindustrialization, which has dialectical significance for the world economy. To assess the structural changes, we analyzed the data of the World Bank to study the dynamics of changes in the sectoral structure of the countries of the world in the period from 1990 to 2019. A very great influence on these processes was exerted by globalization, which through its mechanisms made possible a rapid change in industry proportions not only in the developed world, but also in developing countries, while forming a global trend of “servicization” of the economy. The authors tried to conduct a comparative analysis of the impact of each economic sector on GDP using a regression model based on panel data from more than 180 countries of the world presented by the World Bank.

Sourcing external digital solutions: Digital technologies' architecture and knowledge exchange

Sourcing of external digital solution has become an important strategy incumbent firms are using to accelerate their digital transformation. However, external knowledge and technology sourcing is a complex, multi-phase process that requires exchanging various kinds of knowledge across cognitive, technological and organizational boundaries. Using a longitudinal in-depth qualitative analysis of 15 early-stage pilot projects between startups offering digital solutions and electric utilities seeking to adopt them as empirical setting, we develop a framework of external digital technology sourcing. This framework explicates how and why knowledge exchange patterns differ given a derived set of digital technology integration processes - positioned along the digital technology stack. We show that service enablement at the data-application interface triggers a parallel knowledge iteration pattern, system harmonization at the data-network interface triggers a concurrent knowledge co-creation pattern and assuring hardware efficacy at the network-device interface triggers a sequential knowledge validation pattern. We discuss contributions to the literature on digital innovation and external knowledge sourcing.

Three Internal Barriers to Technology Integration in Education: Opinion, Attitude and Self-Confidence

It is known that teachers’ negative opinions, attitudes and lack of self-confidence towards technology in education negatively affect the technology integration process as an internal barrier. In this study, in order to understand the holistic effect of these internal barriers, the relationship between teachers ‘views on students’ use of technological tools, their attitudes towards technology and their Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) self-confidence was investigated. 378 secondary school teachers participated in the study, in which relational screening model was used. The data of the study were collected through the Scale of Attitudes Towards Technology (SATT), TPCK Confidence Survey, and Personal Information Form. Multivariate Kruskal-Wallis H Test was employed in order to identify the relationships between teachers’ opinions and the factors of the scales, Pearson Moments Multiplication Correlation Coefficient was used so as to identify the relationship of the factors with each other, and multiple linear regression analysis was performed in order to determine the level of teachers’ attitudes predicting their TPCK confidence. It was determined that there was positive and significant relationships between the teachers’ opinions about the students’ benefiting from technological tools and their attitudes, and between the teachers’ opinions about the students’ benefiting from technological tools in the lessons and their TPCK confidence. In addition, it was understood that there were positive and significant relationships between all factors of the attitude scale and confidence scale, and that the teachers’ attitudes towards technology was a significant predictor of their TPCK confidence.

Information technology integration processes for the sustainable development of construction

The paper discusses the issues of creating a single information space for all participants in the investment and construction project, from the investor to the equipment manufacturers. The analysis of the existing information technologies used in the ICP management made it possible to distinguish four main classification groups. Of particular interest are the so-called integrator systems focused on combining the solution of tasks of certain functional areas of ICP management on one digital platform. Integrator systems, with all their merits, are a set of local information technologies and specialized software performing the functions of exchanging information between them using agreed protocols. At the same time, the main issue that was and remains on the agenda in the field of digitalization of the ICP management system is not being resolved - the creation of an information base that suits both designers and builders in terms of completeness and detail. At the Don State Technical University (DSTU), work is underway to create an intelligent ICP management system, which will ensure the integration of all stages of ICP management by creating an information base at the design stage in the BIM process that allows solving all organizational and technological problems both at the stages of COP, WPP and during operational management of the erection of construction facilities.

Analysis of Documents Published on Mobile Technology of Hearing Impaired in Web of Science Database

The aim of this study is to determine the latest trends in mobile technologies used in the education of the hearing impaired. Technology integration studies in the literature generally focus on visual dictionaries, sign language, word exercises or story books. In addition, it is seen that the studies report the results, not the process. However, there are few studies that describe the holistic technology integration process with a holistic approach. The study was conducted using qualitative research methodology, document analysis and related content analysis. Working with the keywords "mobile technology and hearing impaired" in Web of Science database is based on the analysis of published documents. All articles published in Web of Science have been examined. Affiliated universities of the distribution, subject areas, document types, country / regions and author themes by years were examined. Various findings reveal in terms of determining the importance of the analysis of the studies published in Web of Science database on the hearing impairments through mobile learning in terms of content. A total of 54 studies were analysed. It was concluded that the most studies related to technology were carried out in 2001 and 2019. It turns out that the first study was carried out in 2001.When literature review was done, it was concluded that most studies were conducted in 2019. It was also concluded that the most studies were in the field of Computer Science Theory Methods. It is mostly published as a full text. When looking at the scanning areas in the Web of Science index, it was seen that the most study area is in the Conference Proceedings Citation Index-Science area. When the universities of the researchers were analysed, it was also concluded that the researcher who carried out the most research was from Anadolu University. Although technology is very important in education, the effects of mobile learning on the hearing impaired should be further investigated and results should be shared.

A Suggestion of a Framework: Conceptualization of the Factors That Affect Technology Integration in Mathematics Education

The aim of this study is to identify the main factors that affected the process of technology integration in mathematics education. The methodological approach taken in this study is a structured grounded theory. The participants of the study included two secondary-school mathematics teachers, four students selected by the teachers, and two school administrators who were responsible for technology implementation. The data collection tools included two semi-structured interview forms based on a literature review, whose pilot studies were conducted, to identify the opinions of teachers, students and administrators separately. The data analysis method of the study was the constant comparative method that requires to collect data constantly and create codes and categories suggested by the grounded theory. For the analysis of the data, the qualitative data analysis software, MAXQDA 2020, was employed. Based on the findings of the study the factors that affected the process of technology integration in mathematics education were examined as teacher-driven and non-teacher driven factors. The results of the study highlighted that teachers were highly effective in the integration process. Therefore, 20 factors that affected the teachers were identified. These factors included perception of technology, technological awareness, self-confidence, planning and technological materials; and 9 factors that were related to non-teacher-driven aspects including physical conditions, administrative support, student readiness, economic situation, mathematics curriculum and mathematics curriculum approach. These factors were associated with each other, and a framework related to the factors that affected technology integration in mathematics education was suggested.
