Rapid foresight: Information technologies in Physics lessons

Abstract This research, conducted as part of the curriculum in the discipline of Modern Learning Technologies, explores strategies for improving the training of future teachers in response to the dynamic educational landscape. The discipline is an integral component of the educational program designed for students aspiring to become educators. A total of 12 students participated in the study, engaging in a collaborative and iterative process to identify key areas for enhancement in teacher training. The rapid evolution of learning technologies necessitates a proactive approach in preparing future teachers for the challenges and opportunities in the educational landscape. In this study, students enrolled in the educational program for prospective teachers played an active role in the research process. The objective was to leverage the insights and perspectives of these students to identify areas for improvement in teacher training. Twelve students participating in the study were enrolled in the Modern Learning Technologies course. This cohort engaged in a rapid foresight approach, involving activities such as focus group discussions, brainstorming sessions, and collaborative workshops. The methodology aimed to gather diverse opinions on emerging trends in education and technology and to envision potential future scenarios. The findings of the study highlighted key trends in modern learning technologies, including advancements in educational technology, shifts in learning preferences, and evolving classroom dynamics. Students actively contributed to scenario-building exercises, providing valuable input into the skills and competencies they deemed essential for future teachers. The assessment of current teacher training programs revealed areas where adjustments and enhancements were deemed necessary. The active involvement of students in the research process proved to be instrumental in gaining firsthand insights into the needs and expectations of future educators. Collaborative workshops facilitated a co-creation of strategies for improving teacher training programs, ensuring that the enhancements were aligned with the dynamic nature of the educational environment. This research, conducted within the framework of the Modern Learning Technologies course, emphasizes the significance of involving students in the foresight process for enhancing teacher training. The collaborative and iterative nature of the approach ensures that the strategies developed are responsive to the evolving trends and needs in education. As the educational landscape continues to evolve, incorporating student perspectives into teacher training becomes imperative for fostering effective and adaptive educators.

FORMATION OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE OF STUDENTS OF TECHNOLOGICAL EDUCATION

This article explores the processes and pedagogical strategies required to develop the professional competence of students in technological education. It emphasizes the relevance of integrating professional knowledge, skills, and values essential for preparing future specialists in technology-related fields. Using contemporary educational paradigms, the article identifies key components influencing the formation of professional competence, including the role of practical activities, interdisciplinary integration, and digital tools. It also provides recommendations for educators and institutions to effectively nurture competencies that align with the evolving demands of the workforce.

Application and Effect Evaluation of Information Technology in Physical Education

The Kalman filter and extended Kalman filter algorithm are widely used in physical education video processing, but their performance still needs to be improved for complex backgrounds or high dynamic targets. This paper presents an interactive multi-model algorithm. The displacement detection Kalman filter is used to track moving objects. This method can solve the problem of a single model not being able to match the motion features well. Finally, the simulation experiment of football match video proves that the proposed method can significantly improve the tracking accuracy of moving objects in video.

THE IMPORTANCE OF TEACHING NATURAL SCIENCES WITH THE HELP OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES

In today's digital age, integrating Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in natural sciences education has become essential for fostering scientific literacy, enhancing student engagement, and preparing learners for a technology-driven world. This article explores the multifaceted benefits of ICT in teaching natural sciences, focusing on its role in improving conceptual understanding, promoting interactive learning experiences, and supporting data-driven research skills. By leveraging tools such as simulations, interactive models, and virtual labs, educators can create dynamic environments that encourage critical thinking and practical application of scientific theories. Additionally, ICT facilitates personalized learning by adapting to individual student needs and learning styles, thereby supporting differentiated instruction. This article discusses the challenges and strategies in implementing ICT effectively in natural science classrooms and offers insights into future trends in technology-enhanced science education. Emphasizing the importance of teacher training, infrastructure support, and curriculum alignment, the article argues that ICT is a supplementary tool and a transformative force in modern science education.

Navigating techno-stress: A qualitative exploration of university faculty's experiences and perspectives in the Peruvian context amidst the return to classes and the post-COVID-19 era

Background: Technology serves as a potent tool that enhances the quality of teaching and learning experiences. However, when educators lack proficiency in utilizing technology, it leads to obstacles in providing effective education, resulting in emotions of frustration, diminished self-assurance, and uncertainty regarding their teaching abilities. This study aims to investigate the experiences of university faculty members in relation to the impact of technology on their mental well-being. Methods: For this qualitative study, ten professionals engaged in university-level teaching, encompassing research domains, were selected for interviews. Inclusion criteria were based on teaching experience, tenure, specific courses or subjects taught, and active involvement during the research phase. The guiding question for the study was framed as follows: "What are the experiences and perceptions of university faculty members concerning techno-stress?" Additionally, the study identified four subcategories: work overload, social and emotional interaction, adaption to new technologies, and expectations and teaching quality. Results: Techno-stress is a composite of emotional and physical reactions triggered by the improper use of technology. Faculty members’ encounters with techno-stress have substantial implications for their quality of life. The subcategories shed light on different aspects of the faculty’s experiences, including the burden of excessive workload, the influence of social and emotional interactions, the process of adapting to evolving technologies, and the connection between expectations and the quality of their teaching. Conclusions: This research underscores the significance of technology in higher education, highlighting its potential to positively impact teaching and learning. Nevertheless, faculty members’ struggles with techno-stress indicate a pressing need for effective training and support. Establishing limits on connectivity with technology and others emerges as a crucial step in maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Ultimately, addressing techno-stress and providing appropriate guidance are essential for safeguarding the well-being of university faculty members and, consequently, enhancing the overall educational experience.

FOREIGN EXPERIENCE IN USING INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES IN MUSIC EDUCATION

This article analyzes the necessity and benefits of using innovative technologies in music education. On the basis of foreign experiences, issues of modernization of music education, introduction of new pedagogical approaches and use of interactive tools are considered. The article also demonstrates how innovative technologies can be used to develop students' creativity, musical skills and knowledge. Examples will be given to improve the effectiveness of music education through innovative pedagogical methods, distance learning platforms and digital tools. This research provides useful resources for teachers and educational institutions in shaping the modern music education system.

Transforming Inclusive Digital Pedagogy in Malaysian Tertiary TVET: Adapting to a New Educational Landscape

The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly sped up the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education. The aim is to create a more inclusive and fair system, especially in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for individuals with special needs. This approach focuses on personalized learning, high-quality information, and employer involvement, even though it is challenging to replicate traditional classroom experiences. Using the fuzzy Delphi technique, the methodology adapts inclusive digital teaching to changing needs, stressing infrastructure, accessibility, personalized learning, digital skills development, and teacher capabilities. Malaysia is working to become a global leader in education by using ICT to support student-centered learning and develop digital skills, in line with the National Digital Policy. The results show a strong potential for building a thorough digital education system. This integration has important effects on improving educational infrastructure, accessibility, and teacher skills, helping Malaysia establish itself as a leader in the global education scene.

Virtual Reality in Waste Management: Evaluating Its Impact on Community Classification Behavior

The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of virtual reality (VR) technology on improving community garbage sorting behavior through a questionnaire survey. Targeting residents of varying ages, educational backgrounds, and lengths of residence in the community, the study utilized VR technology for garbage classification education and behavior guidance. This comprehensive method evaluated improvements in individuals' willingness, cognition, and practices regarding garbage classification. We designed a multi-dimensional questionnaire and employed a random sampling method to select residents who met specific classification criteria as survey subjects. The research involved analyzing the influence of VR technology on enhancing garbage classification cognition across different demographics, exploring how VR can shift attitudes and willingness towards garbage classification, and investigating its role in promoting actual sorting behavior and frequency. Methodologically, we implemented an immersive VR experience that simulated various types of garbage and classification scenarios, followed by preand post-intervention surveys to measure changes in cognition and behavior. Additionally, we examined the interrelationship between VR technology and other influencing factors, such as policy advocacy, educational background, and community environment. The findings indicate that VR technology significantly enhances residents' understanding of garbage classification standards and improves classification accuracy. Furthermore, the visual representation of the negative environmental impacts of garbage, depicted through VR, profoundly heightened residents' environmental awareness and willingness to engage in garbage classification. This study confirms the practical application value and significant impact of VR technology in improving community garbage sorting behavior, providing a scientific basis for its further promotion and application in community waste management practices.

Teaching and Learning to Support Climate-Neutral Transitions: Exploring Opportunities and Challenges for Interdisciplinary Design Courses

Students’ individual and collective learning processes in interdisciplinary teaching and learning activities that integrate prototype-oriented courses present an opportunity for further exploration. This is particularly relevant given the broader need for capacity-building to support climate-neutral transitions. This contribution draws on an exploratory workshop-in-workshop (WiW) approach to understand and evaluate students learning experiences in an experimental and interdisciplinary design course setting. This experience was embedded in the ENHANCE Alliance, a European network cooperation to innovate research and education in science and technology. The inductive analysis and results from the WiW approach draw upon surveys, group discussions, mapping exercises, and reflections with students. These indicate strong appreciation for problem-based and prototype-oriented teaching along with learning experiences as a part of their individually differentiated but collectively shared learning trajectories. The final insights acknowledge the method as an effective way to enhance instructor-student relationship dynamics and interdisciplinary opportunities. Future improvements to the interdisciplinary design format are discussed and highlight students desires for open and safe learning environments that are more transdisciplinary in nature.

Determining the needs of teachers for teaching geometry education activities to children with visual impairments in early childhood using digital learning tools

The purpose of this research is to determine the needs of teachers for teaching geometry education activities to early childhood children with visual impairments using digital learning tools. The data for the study was collected during the fall semester of 2024-2025 through need analysis forms filled out by a total of 9 preschool and special education teachers working in state schools for the visually impaired located in Turkey's three largest cities: İzmir, Istanbul, and Ankara. The study is designed as a case study, one of the qualitative research designs. A single embedded case design was used in the study. In a single embedded case design, there are often multiple sub-units or layers within a single case (Yıldırım and Şimşek, 2018). The data collected in this study was analyzed using the content analysis method. When the results obtained from this research are generally examined, it was determined that the needs of teachers regarding the process of teaching and learning geometry to early childhood children with visual impairments are composed of the sub-themes of achievements, activities, and materials under the theme of the geometry teaching and learning process, and the sub-themes of learning and teaching under the theme of difficulties experienced in the geometry teaching and learning process. Additionally, the needs of teachers concerning the use of digital tools and technology in the geometry teaching and learning process were identified under the sub-themes of benefits, in-service training, and recommendations.

Evaluation of Academic Enhancement Program for Low-Income Students in Rural Malaysia

Malaysia National Science, Technology and Innovation policy 2021-2023highlighted thatScience, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education plays an important role for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). Many countries are now keen on integrating STEM into TVET education to maintain competitiveness and prepare the workforce to be more effective and productive in the knowledge-based economy. Penang Regional Development Authority (PERDA) initiated the B40@PERDA Academic Enhancement Programme to enhance the academic performance of primary and secondary school students from the B40 group, focusing on critical subjects.The study aims to evaluate the program's effectiveness and gauge student and teacher satisfaction. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected via questionnaires from students and teachers at various educational institutions. Respondents were randomly selected to ensure accurate representation. Analysis results showed that more than 95% of primary school students achieved the minimum proficiency level in EMAS with a minimum of 10% reaching the highest proficiency. For secondary school students, at least 50% attained at least a C grade in EMAS and 45.77% did so in Elective Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Additional Mathematics). This study concluded that the B40@PERDA programme significantly improves EMAS proficiency among rural students and helps reduce dropout rates in these subjects. Furthermore, this programme is crucial for fulfilling the minimum requirements for TVET. By enhancing proficiency in critical subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Science, the B40@PERDA Programme ensures that students are better prepared for TVET pathways, ultimately contributing to their future career opportunities and the development of skilled labor in the region.

First Insights into the Coverage of Conversational Agents in LIS Sources

ABSTRACTThis poster addresses the research question of whether conversational agents (CAs) play a role within the Library and Information Science (LIS) publication sources and provides preliminary insights. At the time of research, the Scimago Journal & Country Rank (SJR) database included 271 LIS publication sources. Twenty‐seven percent of these sources related to research topics on conversational agents. In total, the dataset included 351 documents extracted from Scopus. With 59 publications, the journal Education and Information Technologies listed the greatest number of articles. A ranking by the number of authors showed China (N = 239), the United States (N = 222), and India (N = 87) as the top three countries.

Applying Media and Virtual Approaches to the Institutionalization of Puzhou Opera

Puzhou opera, also known as Puju, originated in Puzhou in ancient China, which is now renamed as Yuncheng city, Shanxi province. Puju has been recorded since the Yuan dynasty and has become one of China’s most important operas because of its long history and influence on surrounding opera styles. This article explores challenges related to the institutionalization of Puju and how to use the modern technology of virtual media to ensure the sustainable development of traditional opera. In addition, as an insider of Yuncheng University, the researcher explored the application process of virtual media in promoting the institutionalized development of Puju and how to realize the learning, preservation, and inheritance of education and modern technology. To summarize, this study investigates the existing problems and challenges in using this virtual and media approaches and applies the media through virtual approach in the institutionalization of Puju to expand audiences and provide a new dissemination of opportunities.

Development of the Volcanic Disaster Risk Reduction Education Program Using the ICT Tool “YOU@RISK Volcanic Disaster Edition” —Practical Verification at a Junior High School in the Mt. Nasu Area—

This study developed a volcanic disaster risk reduction education program that aims to help junior high school students visually understand the risks of volcanic eruptions using map information and acquire independent assessments and actions to protect their own lives from eruption disasters. First, this program analyzed the present state, problems, and educational needs of volcanic disaster risk reduction education in Japan, and thereafter designed the learning content to fuse information and communication technology (ICT) education based on the Global and Innovation Gateway for All (GIGA) School Initiative promoted by Japan with disaster risk reduction education from a geographical viewpoint. We adopted the ADDIE model from instructional design theory to develop the program. An important feature of this program is the realization of geography learning using the “YOU@RISK Volcanic Disaster Edition,” a web-based GIS application developed by the National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience (NIED), as an ICT tool. Learners use YOU@RISK on their tablets and perform operations such as visualizing the risk range in the event of a volcanic eruption and searching for appropriate evacuation sites and routes, while acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary for geographical literacy and emergency response actions. The program is able to realize interactive learning, which is a step ahead of education that relies on conventional paper-based hazard maps. Among active volcanoes nationwide, Mt. Nasu was selected as target volcano for this study. In addition, a junior high school located in the area surrounding Mt. Nasu, Nasu Junior High School in Nasu Town, Tochigi Prefecture, was selected as the target school. The program was implemented by teachers using tablets provided for each student at the school. We evaluated the effectiveness of the program by measuring and analyzing the effects of learning through the practice. Consequently, the effectiveness of the volcanic disaster risk reduction education program using ICT was confirmed.

The Role of Financial Technology in Enhancing the Efficiency of Legal Services

With the rapid development of financial technology (FinTech), its application in the legal service sector is gradually becoming a key force in driving industry innovation. This paper uses both qualitative and quantitative research methods to explore the interaction and synergistic effects of financial technology, regulatory technology (RegTech), and intellectual property protection (IP Protection) in the legal service industry. The study analyzes the current status of financial technology in contract law, compliance checks, and dispute resolution, and evaluates its actual effect on improving the efficiency of legal services. The study found that financial technology has optimized the contract execution process through technologies such as smart contracts and blockchain, improved the level of automation in compliance work, and provided new ways for dispute resolution. Although facing challenges such as technology integration, data security, and legal regulation, these challenges can be effectively controlled through effective risk management and strategic response. The study proposes a series of strategic recommendations, including technological innovation, policy support, education, and training, to promote the collaborative development of financial technology, regulatory technology, and intellectual property protection in the legal service industry. (Beck, R., Bugnion, F., & Pohl, M., 2018) The conclusion of this paper emphasizes the positive role of financial technology in enhancing the efficiency of legal services and points out strategies to cope with challenges, providing valuable insights and suggestions for legal service providers, technology developers, and policy makers to promote the modernization and digital transformation of the legal service industry.

THE ROLE OF COMMERCIAL BANKS IN FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF BUSINESS ACTIVITY

This article examines the main directions of entrepreneurship support in the new Uzbekistan. After the political and economic reforms initiated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, there have been serious changes in the business environment in Uzbekistan. The article discusses the main strategies and policies implemented by the government to develop entrepreneurship and attract investments in various sectors. It emphasized the importance of creating a favorable business environment, reducing bureaucratic obstacles, and providing financial support to entrepreneurs. In addition, it examines the role of technological innovation, education and skills development in promoting entrepreneurship. At the end of the article, special attention is paid to the problems and opportunities that may arise for entrepreneurs in the developing landscape of the economy of Uzbekistan.

Challenges and opportunities: Implementing diversity and inclusion in software engineering university level education in Finland

Considerable efforts have been made at the high school level to encourage girls to pursue software engineering careers and raise awareness about diversity within the field. Similarly, software companies have become more active in diversity and inclusion (D&I) topics, aiming to create more inclusive work environments. However, the way diversity and inclusion are approached inside software engineering university education remains less clear. This study investigates the current state of D&I in software engineering education and faculties in Finland. An online survey (N = 30) was conducted among Finnish software engineering university teachers to investigate which approaches and case examples of D&I are most commonly used by software engineering teachers in Finland. In addition, it was researched how software engineering teachers perceive the importance of D&I in their courses. As a result of the quantitative and thematic analysis, a framework to identify attitudes, approaches, challenges and pedagogical strategies when implementing D&I themes in software engineering education is presented. This framework also offers a process for integrating D&I themes for the curriculum or at the faculty level. The findings of this study emphasize that there is a continuing need for diverse-aware education and training. The results underline the responsibility of universities to ensure that future professionals are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to promote D&I in the field of software engineering.
