PLANNING SCHEDULING, TRACKING AND APPLICATION ADMINISTRATION USING PRIMAVERA WEB LOGIC P6

Proper planning, scheduling, tracking and application administration are the major parameter in construction industry. The systematic flow of work is adopted by using techniques called Critical Path Method (CPM) and Programme Evaluation and Review technique (PERT). The state for management of the project .and the goal intended to attain project planning is to bring forth a time table of work with each activities. The main goal intended from the project is to complete with proper plan and schedule within the gross budget allotted for actual project. The complete process of using resources and to achieve quality in construction can be done by proper project management. The Oracle primavera p6 software includes all possible details to scale with multi-project planning control even for a wide range of projects, thus proper resource allocation and project portfolio management can be achieved by sitting on single system. Planning, scheduling, tracking and administration application in primavera is an advance technology in construction industry which requires the study of material, manpower, improved design and hence improves the construction management technique.

A Study on Strategy for Activating the Standardization in Construction Technology in Connection with Construction R&D Technology

Recently, there is a growing interest in technical standardization all over industry, it is very important for survival in the global market to secure standard patent in almost all of company. Technology in construction industry is essential for quality of people's life and have large impact on national economy development. However, there is lack of investment and low interest in technical standardization in construction industry in comparison with another industries. Therefore this study aims at developing strategies for activating the standardization in construcion technology. Specially, this study carries market analysis and case study for domestic construction R&D Cases. Then, a structured survey and analysis is performed for standardization in construcion technology market to suggest alternative to secure national competitiveness.

Building Information Modeling Comprehensive Overview

The article is addressed to provide a comprehensive review on recently accelerated development of the Information Technology within project market such as industrial, engineering, procurement and construction. Author’s aim is to cover the last decades of the growth of the Information and Communication Technology in construction industry in particular Building Information Modeling and testifies that the problem of a choice of the effective project realization method not only has not lost its urgency, but has also transformed into one of the major condition of the intensive technology development. All of it has created a great impulse on shortening the project duration and has led to the development of various schedule compression techniques what becomes a focus of modern construction.

Application of BIM Technology in Green Building Engineering Construction

BIM is a direct application of information technology in construction industry. It covers the whole life cycle of engineering construction, including project planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance. BIM improves the engineering quality, saves cost and improves production efficiency. Review: optical fiber sensors for civil engineering applications

Optical fiber sensor (OFS) technologies have developed rapidly over the last few decades, and various types of OFS have found practical applications in the field of civil engineering. In this paper, which is resulting from the work of the RILEM technical committee “Optical fiber sensors for civil engineering applications”, different kinds of sensing techniques, including change of light intensity, interferometry, fiber Bragg grating, adsorption measurement and distributed sensing, are briefly reviewed to introduce the basic sensing principles. Then, the applications of OFS in highway structures, building structures, geotechnical structures, pipelines as well as cables monitoring are described, with focus on sensor design, installation technique and sensor performance. It is believed that the State-of-the-Art review is helpful to engineers considering the use of OFS in their projects, and can facilitate the wider application of OFS technologies in construction industry.

The Obstruction to the Use of Building Information Modeling in China

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an innovative tool and Production Process,which is a typical application way of information technology in construction industry. The rapid development of BIM has brought about a gigantic revolution in construction industries of Europe and the United States and other developed countries. In China, only some big design institutes are or have been applying this technology.This paper concretely analyses the situation and the barrier of using BIM in China, expounds its application prospect in China based on the relationship between BIM technology and the related parties.

Application and efficacy of information technology in construction industry

In the 21st century, information technology (IT) is seen as a tool that assists companies to perform more efficiently and effectively. However, many studies have posed the question whether the benefits outweigh the investments. The issue is more serious in the construction industry where there are factors that limit performance such as inadequate training, ineffective use of IT infrastructures, maintenance inadequacies and less than positive staff perceptions concerning IT implementations by management. Malaysia is a rapidly developing country and IT integration has to be efficient to help accelerate development. This study aims to analyze IT effectiveness in construction companies focusing on small and medium contracting enterprises (SMCE). The study reviewed literature related to IT implementation and its services in the construction industry with the objective of highlighting the appropriate conceptual IT effective model in the context of the Malaysian construction industry. The review was also performed to identify important factors attributed to performance and hindrances of performance of Malaysian construction companies. The paper concludes with tentative implications for IT implementation with the necessity to comprehend operational and process-level changes as well as impact isolation of specific IT application types concerning firm’s dynamic capabilities, which mediate IT impacts on firm performance. Development of low-carbon economy is an important approach to adjust industrial structure. With the gradual acceptance of low-carbon economic concept, borders of industries gradually become unclear and construction industry steps into the phase of combination. This paper gains the result that the profit of implementing low carbon technology is increasing function or decreasing function to the actual value and by adopting efficient low carbon technology in construction industry in two different fusing stages, and considering the market competition situation through the return condition of referral encouragement. It also gains the situation that the government provides referral encouragement or does not provide referral encouragement by analyzing the relationship between the profits and the average benefits of low carbon in the market, and finally proposes the fusing countermeasures of construction industry in the low carbon economy age. And it gave the accelerate in-depth development of modern construction industry.

Role of Advanced Computer Technology in Construction Industry

The construction industry currently does not undertake the research and development of advanced computer technology needed to maintain or improve production performance in the modern world. This technical note describes the possible areas of application and probable benefits resulting from the proper usage of computer-integrated construction. Although several examples are referenced, no attempt has been made to promote a particular method. Each construction firm has different goals and needs for the handling and improvement of information and production. The goal of this technical note, then, is to establish a knowledge base for construction firms, so that customized versions of computer integration can be envisioned and harnessed in the near future.
