Implementation of P5 in Schools for Student Development: A Literature Review

This study investigates the implementation of the Pancasila Learner Profile in the Merdeka Curriculum in terms of its contribution to the character and competency development of the students. This study looks at how the Pancasila Learner Profile (P5) is used in the Merdeka Curriculum and how it helps students become more competent and morally upright. This study assesses the literature on P5 implementation in schools using the literature review approach. According to the findings, P5 contributes significantly to the development of critical thinking abilities, creativity, teamwork, and moral principles via a student-centered, contextual, and multidisciplinary approach. Among the difficulties noted are resource availability, community participation, and teacher preparedness. Among the suggestions include enhancing teacher preparation programs, providing facilities for assistance, and creating locally relevant initiatives.

Proposing the Integration of Scrum and ESP for EFL Tourism Students: Theoretical Framework and Methodological Approach

A holistic approach to kitting cart optimization and steel receiving analysis for process improvement

This paper investigates the optimization potential within the steel-receiving process and kitting cart management in modern manufacturing facilities. As evidenced by a 20% improvement at Asuruf Industrial, the study indicates how the increasing popularity of kitting, with its capacity to reduce assembly time and space through pre-sorted kits, synergizes with vital efficiency gains in steel receiving. “Emun Berangkat”: Exploring Teamwork in Organizations through Local Wisdom Narratives

This paper is a response to the limitations of previous studies regarding teamwork and its relationship with effectiveness in the workplace, communication in teamwork, and the role of leadership in teamwork. This paper will find local wisdom narratives regarding teamwork principles so that they can guide actions when working in teams. The research method used was qualitative with an ethnographic approach, conducting interviews with 12 people using a purposive sampling technique, who were selected based on expertise such as cultural figures, Gayo traditional councils, academics, community and religious leaders, education practitioners, and managers. Ethnographic data analysis emphasizes understanding the cultural context so that it can be seen how everything is interconnected and meaningful. Data were analyzed through three stages, namely data restatement, data description, and data interpretation, and ended with a conclusion. The results of the research show that the principles of teamwork are based on local Gayo wisdom, namely the importance of having a vision, being well organized, making decisions through consensus, ethics, mutual welfare, altruism, common goals, coherence, values, meaningful, proportional, job assignment and specialization, monism or non-overlapping, integrity, consolidation, synergy, esprit de corps, solidarity, cohesion, loyalty, effective leadership, interdependence, interconnectedness, mutual trust, mutual development, collaboration, mutual benefit, normative, optimistic, firm, empathetic, harmonious, full of affection, mutual respect.

Demanded interdisciplinary subjects for integration in medical education program from the point of view of graduated medical physicians and senior medical students: a nationwide mixed qualitative-quantitative study from Iran

IntroductionThis study aimed to detect interdisciplinary subjects for integration into the medical education program of Iran.MethodsA qualitative-quantitative method was used. Firstly, interdisciplinary subjects demanded by medical graduates and senior medical students were defined by qualitative study. In the second stage, questionnaire was developed which based on the findings of qualitative stage, experts’ opinion and reviewing of the national general guide of professional ethics for medical practitioners. Questionnaire consisted of demographic, occupational and thirteen interdisciplinary items. These items consisted of social determinants of health, social and economic consequences of disease, social prescribing, physicians’ social responsibility, role of gender, racial, ethnic, social and economic issues in approach to patients, role of logic and mathematics in clinical decision-making, philosophy of medicine, maintaining work-life balance, self-anger management, national laws of medicine, religious law in medical practice, health system structure, and teamwork principles. Level and importance of knowledge and self-assessed educational needs were asked about each item. In the third stage, a national online survey was conducted. SPSS 25 was used for statistics.ResultsBy content analysis of data in qualitative stage, 36 sub-themes and 7 themes were extracted. In the quantitative part, 3580 subjects from 41 medical universities across Iran participated in this study. 2896 (80.9%) were medical graduates and 684 (19.1%) were senior medical students. Overall, knowledge about interdisciplinary items was low to intermediate, while high to very high knowledge ranged from maximally 38.7% about socioeconomic consequences of disease to minimally 17.2% about social prescribing. Participants gave the most importance to the having knowledge about self-anger management (88.3%), maintaining work-life balance (87.2%) and social determinants of health (85.8%), respectively. However, national laws of medicine (77.6%), maintaining work-life balance (75.4%) and self-anger management (74%) were the first top three educational demands by participants.ConclusionThis study revealed a low to moderate level of knowledge about interdisciplinary topics among both graduated medical physicians and senior medical students. These groups showed a strong demand and tendency to know and to be educated about these topics. These findings underscore the urgency for educational reforms to meet the interdisciplinary needs of medical professionals in Iran.

Teaching Teamwork: Online Technical Writing Courses with Engineering Students

Using a pragmatic approach, this case study aims to incorporate communication skills in team teaching in light of the literature, describes how communication and teamwork principles play out in online third-year technical writing courses with ethnically diverse international students and faculty from engineering and other STEM majors at an institute of technology in the USA (n = 48). The data were collected using weekly assignments for the semester-long course; and student evaluations of course outcomes. The findings showed that because students wrote weekly short analyses and received weekly feedback, they most often improved their writing skills, such as editing their writings according to American English rules, and transferred learning of rhetorical principles from one setting (analyzing other people’s writing) into another setting as they learnt to work as a team of productive writers.

Organizational culture and management practices at technical vocational education and training colleges

<span lang="EN-US">Building an effective organizational culture of high performance has proven to be elusive amongst strategic and operational managers of selected public technical vocational education and training (TVET) colleges in the Gauteng province in the post-merger period of 2007 to 2010. Poor organizational culture demonstrated by a lack of the Ubuntu principles of humanness and teamwork; management inefficiency and instability undermined the role of public TVET colleges in the Gauteng province, South Africa. The identified knowledge gap is a paucity of information on how the values of Ubuntu are infused into management practices to improve organizational management practices. A mixed methods research approach that adopted multiple case studies, unstructured interviews and survey questionnaires was undertaken to assess an organizational culture and management practices by strategic and operational managers, and lecturers at selected public TVET colleges. Descriptive statistical and thematic analyses were employed to generate, interpret, and analyze the findings from participating managers and lecturers. The findings revealed the need to re-purpose public TVET colleges in South Africa to align with the strategic priorities and goals of the National Development Plan: Vision 2030. Strategic and operational managers should also be capacitated with stakeholder relations building and management skills to create student workplace opportunities with businesses and industries.</span>

Intervention to optimize guideline-recommended interdependent care delivery in breast and lung cancers with the 4R Oncology model.

34 Background: Team-based care improves quality, reduces fragmentation and lowers clinician burnout related to ad hoc care coordination. A key teamwork principle is managing timing and sequence of interdependent care (Vogel JOP 2016). The 4R Oncology model featured by the NCI ASCO Teams initiative fosters effective teamwork by facilitating systematic timing / sequence of interdependent care.1 4R is Right Info / Care / Patient / Time. Using a 4R intervention, a large health system created a high-functioning care team and conducted optimizations of guideline-based interdependent care in breast and lung cancers Oct 2020 - Dec 2021.2 We present results of these optimizations. Methods: We compared data from electronic health record on timing and sequence of care between historical control cohorts of patients who received care pre-4R (breast n=274, lung n=173) to the post-optimization 4R cohorts (breast n=211, lung n=140). Patient and tumor characteristics between control and 4R cohorts in both cancers were similar. Results: Timing and sequence of care for 6 of the 7 breast cancer metrics and all 7 lung cancer metrics was significantly improved between the control and 4R cohorts (Table). Despite significant increase, the rate of timely care for some metrics remained low, such as referrals based on distress screening in breast cancer and palliative care consult in lung cancer. Conclusions: The 4R Oncology model is effective in applying teamwork principles and improving timing and sequence of guideline-based care. Opportunities for further care optimizations exist to expand the 4R benefit to a higher number of patients. A learning system established in our institution will inform iterative optimizations. 1. How the Game of Soccer can Foster Creative Research in Natural Sciences

The systems science approach based on exploration of analogies between distinct fields of inquiry can lead to the creation of new interdisciplinary branches of knowledge. In this essay, a series of such analogies between soccer and natural sciences is elaborated with the objective of recognizing the scientific elements intrinsic to the game of soccer and transcribing them to the creative practice of science. The sources of analogies are multifold, involving the tactical setups of the teamwork, the geometry and cybernetic principles governing the coordination of the players, the kinesthetic intelligence thereof and various psychological factors. The essay also intends to inspire the crafters of academic curricula to consider building courses around the intersections of a sport such as soccer and natural sciences so as to promote sportier and more spirited scientific communities. Along with the humanization of sciences via their cross-fertilization with soccer, the enlightenment of the latter profession may also result from this interdisciplinary marriage, so that the animalistic competitiveness in this sport gets suppressed and its artistic elements accentuated. Parents’ apreciation of the impact of strategic games introduced in physical education classes

The curriculum at the American International School of Bucharest (AISB) centres around the principle of teamwork, serving as the foundation for this study. This research aims to be presented, examined, and refined to engage students actively and emotionally in the instructional process. Essential elements contributing to achieving the proposed objectives involve the use of experimental methods, emphasizing teamwork principles, and creating an environment rooted in safety, trust, engagement, and cooperation. The study assumes that the quality of the teaching process is enhanced through the application of internationally-used strategic games, validated by the perspectives of students, parents, and teachers. We find it appropriate to consider the views of parents, who believe that physical education class is extremely important for both the balanced development of children and its positive effect on their mental health as a result of exercising on a daily basis. A comparative study was conducted between a sample of Romanian middle school children and a sample of AISB students, revealing a multitude of effects induced by internationally-utilized strategic games, including the development of social skills, elimination of stress and intellectual fatigue, improvement of motor skills, and increased knowledge about different sports. These games also promote teamwork, involve all students in learning, and instil an understanding of game rules and sports competition, fostering respect for teammates and opponents. Additionally, strategic games contribute to socialization, fun, relaxation, all within a backdrop of maintaining a positive attitude.

Interprofessional Healthcare Themes derived through Critical Discourse Analysis

One of the four primary learning competencies of Interprofessional Education (IPE) is Interprofessional (IP) Communication. Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science (RFUMS) partnered with the University of New England (UNE) to offer an IP Team Immersion (IPTI) telehealth simulation (tSIM). IPTI aims to provide opportunities for IP teams of students to increase understanding of each other's roles, responsibilities, demonstrate teamwork principles and skills, and apply integrated communication skills for team-based, patient-centered practice in a simulated setting. We hypothesized that IPTI provides an opportunity for students to learn communication skills in an interprofessional team setting and that CDA can be used to identify incidences of verbal and non-verbal communication.In this experience, groups of students formed IP teams and worked together to plan their approach to a standardized patient (SP) case. Nine student teams across two universities and ten health professions participated in the virtual sessions and simulations. At the end of the tSIM activities, IP student teams were given 45 minutes to debrief and discuss their performance.CDA can be used to understand how communication among a team of IP healthcare students contributes to student learning in a simulated clinical environment. This study used CDA to analyze communication during the debrief sessions and the main themes identified were Verbal Communication, Non-Verbal Communication, Working Relationships, and Telehealth.Our results indicated that IPTI provided an opportunity for students working in a team to learn communication skills used within an IP team.

Radiographers' decision-making processes in the movement of pain-afflicted adult trauma patients in planar diagnostic imaging.

The need to balance pain management and radiographic image quality is at the forefront of patient care in diagnostic radiography. This study aimed to identify the decision-making that radiographers employ when undertaking planar diagnostic imaging for pain-afflicted adult trauma patients and the factors that influence these decisions. A virtual focus group interview was undertaken with six experienced Australian radiographers using a realistic scenario and questions based on it. Thematic analysis was employed to explore how radiographers approached planar diagnostic imaging of trauma patients and what influenced decisions regarding patient movement. Five key factors in radiographers' decision-making were identified: assistance from the multidisciplinary team, understanding the patient, pain reduction methods, the patient being informed and radiographer competence. Radiographers were found to further utilise professional knowledge of image interpretation and anatomy and physiology, in conjunction with interpersonal capabilities, to undertake radiographic examinations. The decision-making process that informs the movement of pain-afflicted adult trauma patients is multifactorial, aligning with the broad healthcare principles of multidisciplinary teamwork, holistic management of the patient and professional knowledge and practice. Further research is needed to explore correlations with different patient groups to validate this research.

MOTIVATION THEORIES AS THE KEY TO MANAGEMENT OF MEDICAL STAFF.

The aim: To identify positions that are relevant for practical use in improving the process of human resource management in healthcare. Materials and methods: Comparative analysis of motivation theories. Conclusions: Human resources are a key intangible resource of a society or any organization. In today's post-industrial society, the development of a knowl¬edge-based economy with the introduction of innovative technologies, principles of teamwork; improving the educational, cultural and qualification level of employees, democratization of socio-economic life in the country against the background of increasing population mobility and competition in the context of globalization, sets requirements for human resource management in such an important area as health care, in particular, in terms of activities to increase their motivation. Understanding the essence of motivation theories proves that people have different needs, so knowledge of different motivation theories can be used to manage medical staff.

Engineering a Clinical Microsystem to Decrease Workplace Violence for Medically and Psychiatrically Concurrently Decompensated Patients.

Hospitalized medical patients with concurrently decompensated psychiatric and medical conditions experience worse clinical outcomes. Health care providers caring for this patient population are at increased risk of workplace violence. The authors sought to understand the effects of a clinical microsystem specifically designed to care for patients too psychiatrically ill for medical units and too medically ill for psychiatry units. The research team performed a quality improvement study in which a medicine-psychiatry co-managed clinical microsystem incorporating high performance teamwork principles was engineered in an urban academic medical center to improve patient and staff safety, as well as operational outcomes. Poisson regression was performed to determine differences between workplace violence events, falls, 30-day emergency department (ED) revisits, and hospital readmissions, comparing the baseline period to the intervention period. There were 321 patients discharged in the baseline period and 310 during the intervention period. Workplace violence events decreased by 65.6% (incidence rate ratio [IRR] 0.34, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.20-0.57, p < 0.001) after implementation of the clinical microsystem when compared to the baseline period. The rate of ED utilization at 30 days postdischarge also decreased from 30.6% at baseline to 21.0% postintervention (adjusted odds ratio [aOR] 0.60, 95% CI 0.42-0.87, p = 0.006). No differences were detected in falls and 30-day readmissions. For patients with concurrently decompensated medical and psychiatric conditions, the incidence of workplace violence and postdischarge ED utilization can be improved by creating a clinical microsystem that integrates changes to both the physical environment and teamwork processes.

Teamwork Training With a Multiplayer Game in Health Care: Content Analysis of the Teamwork Principles Applied.

In health care, teamwork skills are critical for patient safety; therefore, great emphasis is placed on training these skills. Given that training is increasingly designed in a blended way, serious games may offer an efficient method of preparing face-to-face simulation training of these procedural skills. This study aimed to investigate the teamwork principles that were used during gameplay by medical students and teamwork experts. Findings can improve our understanding of the potential of serious games for training these complex skills. We investigated a web-based multiplayer game designed for training students' interprofessional teamwork skills. During gameplay, 4 players in different roles (physician, nurse, medical student, and student nurse) had to share information, prioritize tasks, and decide on next steps to take in web-based patient scenarios, using one-to-one and team chats. We performed a qualitative study (content analysis) on these chats with 144 fifth-year medical students and 24 health care teamwork experts (as a benchmark study) playing the game in groups of 4. Game chat data from 2 scenarios were analyzed. For the analysis, a deductive approach was used, starting with a conceptual framework based on Crew Resource Management principles, including shared situational awareness, decision-making, communication, team management, and debriefing. Results showed that most teamwork principles were used during gameplay: shared situational awareness, decision-making (eg, re-evaluation), communication (eg, closed loop), and team management (eg, distributing the workload). Among students, these principles were often used on a basic level. Among experts, teamwork principles were used with more open forms of speak up and more justification of decisions. Some specific Crew Resource Management principles were less observed among both groups, for example, prevention of fixation errors and use of cognitive aids. Both groups showed relatively superficial debriefing reflections. Playing a multiplayer game for interprofessional teamwork appears to facilitate the application of teamwork principles by students in all important teamwork domains on a basic level. Expert players applied similar teamwork principles on a moderately high complexity level. Some teamwork principles were less observed among both students and expert groups, probably owing to the artifacts of the game environment (eg, chatting instead of talking). A multiplayer game for teamwork training can elicit the application of important, basic teamwork principles, both among novices and experts, and provides them with a flexible, accessible, and engaging learning environment. This may create time for exercising more complex skills during face-to-face training.

A case study of a strategic initiative in pediatric rehabilitation transition services: An insiders' perspective on team principles and practices.

The aim was to describe an innovative initiative that took place in a pediatric rehabilitation hospital. The goal of this organization-wide strategic initiative, called the Transition Strategy, was to improve service delivery to children/youth with disabilities and their families at times of life transition. The research question was: What are the key elements that have contributed to the success of the Strategy, from the perspective of team members? The objectives were to describe: (a) the guiding principles underlying team functioning and team practices, (b) key enablers of positive team functioning, (c) the nature of effective team practices, and (d) lessons learned. A holistic descriptive case study was conducted, utilizing historical documents, tracked outcome data, and the experiences and insights of multidisciplinary team members (the authors). Reflecting an insiders' perspective, the impressions of team members were key sources of data. The perspectives of team members were used to generate key teamwork principles, enablers of team functioning, team practices, and key learnings. Team members identified four guiding humanistic principles (respect, support, partnership, and open communication). These principles underpinned three novel practices that contributed to team effectiveness in the eyes of team members: supportive relational practices, human-centered co-design, and solution-focused communication. Key enablers were the relational style of leadership, and a team climate of innovation, autonomy, and trust, supported by the organizational vision. This team climate fostered a sense of psychological safety, thereby encouraging both experimentation and learning from failure. This article provides information for other healthcare organizations interested in understanding the Strategy's value and its implementation. It provides a practical example of how to adopt a humanistic approach to health care, leading to both innovative service development and thriving among team members.

Teaching Social Skills Interventions with Digital Cognitive and Language Machines to a Student with Autism

The present paper, through a case study of a student with autism, refers to the diversity in language and social skills and the communication difficulties across the lifespan.It aims to support the social skills based on the pedagogical principles of teamwork and student-centeredness according to the Framework for Analytical Special Education Program (FASEP) in secondary inclusive education. The main hypothesis examines the meaning of teaching in autism for philologists (Greek language teachers) who use -a] differentiations with targeted individual-structured "social stories" and -b] interventions in the emotional organization by verbalizing feelings with digital cognitive and language machines in a student with autism. The methodology of the inclusion intervention programs use the pedagogical tool TISIPfSEN (Targeted, Individually Structured, and Inclusive Intervention Programs for Students with Special Educational Needs). Accompanied by a questionnaire which given to (N = 104) philologists. The individually targeted social skills instructional interventions with digital cognitive and communication machines were implemented with a rubber band folder and a digital folder for a student with autism. With structured, graded-difficulty learning readiness exercises, the understanding of the meaning of language rules of cooperation with others was supported. Philologists have understood that autism difficulties following through the semantic aspect of language affect the individual’s social skills in abstract thinking and the multiple meanings of social stories' words. Finally, they confirmed the usefulness of TISIPfSEN for students with autism by teaching language interventions in social skills and the multimedia approach with a conventional and digital dossier.

Conduct a Collaborative Effort of Teachers to Strengthen Students’ Creative Thinking Skills

This research aimed at developing the creative thinking skills of students by using Participative Action Research methodology. The research was done in two cycles, one semester each in the Academic Year of 2021. The expected results of the study should result in changes in learning and the knowledge gained from action in the specific context of the Faculty of Education of Mahamakut Buddhist University (MBU). The research participants were 15 professors, who were responsible for bachelor's degree programs in the fields of teaching the Thai language, the English language, and Social Studies. In addition, 258 students were the group targeted for development. The results showed the following expected changes. Firstly, a comparison of the mean of the participants' performance assessment and the assessment of the creative thinking skills of the students was conducted in 3 phases (before and after the first cycle and after the second cycle). For both cases, the means were higher. Secondly, the research team, co-researchers, and educational institutions learned by taking an action, especially with regard to the benefits of using participatory principles and teamwork principles, both of which make work more efficient than when individuals take an action alone. Thirdly, knowledge was gained by utilizing the conceptual framework of Force-Field Analysis, which is a model called the Driving Forces that Affect the Success of the Project entitled ‘Conduct a Collaborative Effort of Teachers to Strengthen Students’ Creative Thinking Skills at MBU.’

Facilitating Accountable Critical Thinking (FACT): A Perspective from a Novel Facet of Critical Medical Anthropology

A profession is not just a source to provide occupations to serve people by simply utilizing the knowledge as taught in the curriculum but to serve people with reproducible and verifiable facts. Professionals should be ready to abandon any indoctrinated knowledge if found worthless or harmful when applied. Not only that, the professionals should let the world know about the impracticality or harmfulness of any indoctrinated knowledge, and engage in critical thinking to generate better sustainable alternatives. In medical profession, rendering unbiased evidence-based support to the scientific facts is not possible without experimentations using similar methodologies. Though the greatest achievement of any medical invention (diagnosis, treatment procedure, prophylaxis, public health measure) is its generalizability, the tendency of the health care professionals to generalize a finding of someone or themselves without repeated applications in real-life situations has been an impediment. Critical thinking is the precursor for evidence-based practices in medical profession. It is highly difficult to shape the public health system into an evidence-based noble ‘School of Thought’ (preferably, nation-specific ‘School of Thought’) in order to eradicate iatrogenesis, pseudoscience, health inequities, statistical malpractices, quackery, professional degradation etc., for which important ‘Health Activism’ initiatives incorporating the principles of Salutogenesis, Homeostasis, Lifestyle medicine, Evidence-based practice, Transdisciplinarity and Teamwork, are needed. In fact, health care professionals should possess profound and flawless foundational knowledge about homeostasis. Anthropologists with any medical degree background could be competent enough to reveal various unexplored facets of critical medical anthropology to support standardization of the medical education and health care practices.
