In general, this research aims to produce a product in the form of a supplement teaching materials for the Science and Social subject on Harmony and Ecosystems students grade Vth as accompanying teaching materials in the learning process at State Elementary School 17 Pontianak City. The method used in this research is R&D (Research and Development) with a mixed method and using the ADDIE model with five stages analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. All data obtained in this research came from the homeroom teacher, 27 students and two experts. The techniques in this research to get all the data used interviews, test and questionnaires. Validation results by the first validator for products obtained an average of 4.93 with a percentage of 98.6% (Very Valid) and the second Validator obtained an average of 4.86 with a percentage of 97.2% (Very Valid). The results from the small group product trials obtained an average of 4.74 with a percentage of 95% (Very Good) and the large group product trials obtained an average of 4.65 with a percentage of 93% (Very Good). The results of the response questionnaire to homeroom teacher obtained an average of 4.53 with a percentage of 90.6% (Very Good).

Influence Of Principals’ Supportive Leadership Style On Tutors’ Support For Implementation Of Performance Appraisal Of Tutors In Public Primary Teachers Training Colleges In Kenya

The study objectives sought; to establish the influence of principals’ supportive leadership style on tutors’ support for implementation of performance appraisal in public primary teachers training colleges in Kenya. The study employed descriptive research design. The target population comprised of 840 tutors and 21 principals drawn from the 21 public teachers training colleges in Kenya as of 2021. Stratified proportionate random sampling was used to select 271 tutors in teachers’ training colleges in Kenya. Census was used to select all the 21 principals of training colleges in Kenya. Primary data were collected using questionnaire for tutors and interview guide for the 21 Principals. The study findings demonstrated that supportive leadership style of principals showed a significant positive effect on tutors' support for performance appraisal (β = 0.386, p < 0.001). The study concluded that principals' leadership styles supportive is critical determinants in enhancing tutors' engagement and commitment to the appraisal process. There is need for the college management to provide the necessary teaching and training materials to support the effective implementation of performance appraisal programmes. There is also need for tutors to present their past output so that it can inform supportive principal what is necessary for a better working environment. The study also recommends that the MoE, alongside college management, prioritize the creation of policies that promote a supportive and safe working environment. This could include mentorship programs for tutors, flexible scheduling, and recognition and reward systems to acknowledge tutors’ professional growth and accomplishments

This research discusses the development of a Canva-based interactive e-book for my morals material in class VI MIS Hidayatul Ilmi Kalitata. The research uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. The subjects are class VI students of MIS Hidayatul Ilmi Kalitata for the 2023/2024 academic year. Data was collected through observation, questionnaires and interviews, then analyzed descriptively qualitatively and descriptively quantitatively. The research results show that this Canva-based interactive e-book is valid with a high score, namely 90.90% by media experts, 85.71% by material experts, and 91.66% by language experts. In terms of practicality, this e-book was also rated highly by teachers (82.8%) and students (83.8%). Thus, this interactive e-book is suitable for use in the process of learning my morals material at the school. This research contributes to developing teaching materials that are more interactive and relevant to technological developments, as well as providing empirical evidence regarding the validity and practicality of their use in the learning context of class VI MIS Hidayatul Ilmi Kalitata.

The Impact of Teaching Materials for Pupils with Mental Disorders in Public Primary Schools at Mvomero District Council, Tanzania

The study aimed to examine the impact of teaching materials for pupils with mental disorders in public primary schools. The study employed a mixed approach and a case study design, and the social cognitive theory was used as a guiding tool. A sample size of 20 respondents was drawn from 30 populations through purposive and simple sampling technique. The data collection methods were through interviews, observation and questionnaire. Descriptive statistical analysis and content analysis were used to analyze the collected data. The study revealed that, there is shortage of teaching materials like game puzzles, visual aids, audio visual, video visual and building blocks as indicated in selected four public primary school at Mvomero District Council, where each learner has different level of mental disorders. The study concludes that the government should provide a sufficient fund to these public primary schools so that pupils with mental disorders get better education services and conducive environment which will facilitate all teachers and pupils to improve teaching and learning process

From Teaching with Cases to Teaching through Case Development: Making Purchasing Managers and Students the Designers of Learning Journeys

The prevailing approach to producing and teaching case studies in purchasing and supply management (PSM) education involves faculty members’ creating and providing finished cases for course participants to work with. This traditional approach still has merit; but PSM education also must evolve to meet the increasing and changing demands that PSM executives face in practice. We offer an advanced and experiential learning method, wherein participants both in degree courses and in executive education programs develop a case study and the accompanying teaching material based on their engagement with real-life PSM challenges. In particular, the process of crafting a teaching note requires participants to adopt a teacher’s mindset and competencies, enhancing their effectiveness in practice as facilitators of ecosystems and as change managers. We also encourage faculty members to broaden the application of case studies beyond working on past situations. Case studies can be the end-product of field projects (consulting cases), and their development and use can be an integral part of a change management process when they become the means to gain employee commitment for ongoing strategic initiatives (implementation cases). The latter approach is particularly fruitful when case development is used in customized executive education programs because it allows the participants’ learning to feed directly into major ongoing change projects in their company. As such, cases and the case development process have the potential to develop participants’ competencies and to create direct business impact in far broader ways than traditional case study pedagogy allows.

A PICTURE WORD INDUCTIVE MODEL TO ENHANCING VOCABULARY ACQUISITION AT THE PRIMARY LEVEL

The current research investigates the effect of using the Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) Strategy on Vocabulary Acquisition at the Primary Level. The research's null hypotheses have been formulated to be tested in light of the aim. The design of two equivalent groups, namely the experimental and control groups with pre and post-tests, has been adopted. The research sample included 60 female pupils from two primary schools intentionally selected from the center of Nineveh Governorate. They were divided into two groups: the experimental group included 30 female pupils taught according to the PWIM strategy at Al Talai Primary School. The control group included (30) female pupils taught according to the Subscribed method at Al Shaqa'ik Primary School. Both groups were equalized according to a set of variables: pupil's date of birth, pupil's general average of the preceding academic year, pupil's scores in English of the preceding academic year, and parents'. Moreover, the main requirements of this research were prepared, such as determining the teaching materials and preparing the teaching plans as well as; the researcher had prepared an instrument to collect the data based on the dependent variables of this research, namely the vocabulary Acquisition test of a passage followed by five questions. The result reveals a statistically significant difference (0.05) between the experimental and control groups in the Post-Test of Vocabulary Acquisition in favor of The Experimental group. Finally, recommendations and suggestions for further research are presented concerning the necessity of applying the (PWIM) in teaching the English language.

EKSPLORASI PENOKOHAN DAN KONFLIK INTERPERSONAL DALAM NOVEL PERANG BUBAT KARYA AAN MERDEKA PERMANA

The urgency for innovation in senior high school literature teaching materials has prompted this research. Historical novels with a psychological literary perspective are still rarely used as teaching materials. Hence, this research focuses on analyzing the characterization and conflicts in Aan Merdeka Permana's novel Perang Bubat as an alternative teaching material for senior high school literature. Employing a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, this research gathered data in the form of words and analyzed it using Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory. The analyzed characters include Dyah Pitaloka, Hayam Wuruk, Gajah Mada, and Prabu Lingga Buana. The findings reveal unique character traits in the characters of Aan Merdeka Permana's novel Perang Bubat. These unique characteristics are classified into the id, ego, and superego. The research results were then transformed into senior high school literature teaching materials in the form of teaching modules and handouts. It is recommended that Aan Merdeka Permana's novel Perang Bubat be used as a teaching material for senior high school literature, particularly for grade XII, as an alternative to outdated teaching materials. The proposed teaching materials in this research are teaching modules and handouts designed to facilitate the understanding of the novel.

초등학교 사회 수업에서 노동인권교육 실천 경험에 관한 자문화기술지

The purpose of this study is to explore the experiences of researcher who have practiced labor related human rights education in elementary school social lessons with an autoethnography and to provide implications for the operation of labor related human rights education linked to social studies. To gather evidence for this study, I complied a collection of lesson plans, student evaluations, and classroom observation records from a single semester. In addition, my own personal reflections and experiences as both a researcher and participant in the classroom served as a primary source of data. The research results are summarized as follows. First, I reorganized the curriculum by linking and integrating various subjects and creative experiential activities to practice labor related human rights education in social lessons, and conceived class activities by referring to various teaching and learning materials, but labor related human rights education could not be systematically dealt with. Second, the number of social lesson hours alone was not sufficient to deal with labor related human rights education. Third, it is not easy for fellow teachers to unite together, although the identity of a teacher who is a worker citizen must be established as a social textbook. Based on these research results, I would like to present implications for the practice of labor related human rights education in social studies lessons. First, it is necessary to develop teaching and learning materials for labor related human rights education centered on social studies achievement standards. Second, opportunities for understanding and experience of labor related human rights must be accompanied throughout educational activities. Third, it is necessary to change teachers’ perception of labor related human rights education.

Students need to develop their critical thinking skills, which include the 4Cs of the 21st century: creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking. These 4Cs are qualities that are essential for success in the modern world. So it's important to acquire knowledge that can sharpen critical thinking abilities. In three high schools in Sungai Punuh City, the pupils' critical thinking abilities were not as good as anticipated. The first research revealed that the lack of connections between the teaching materials and the usage of physics in daily life was the root of the students' poor critical thinking skills. 77% of students said that the professors' teaching resources did not incorporate real-world applications of physics. Textbooks predominate in the instructional resorces utilized, however they do not promote critical thinking or self-learning. Therefore, in order to develop students' critical thinking abilities, autonomous learning tools are required that meet their demands. In order to enhance critical thinking abilities, research was done on the construction of integrated e-modules using the CTL technique on material elasticity. The findings of expert validity tests are especially communicated in this study. Three experts from the Faculty of mathematics and natural sciences UNP Physics Department conducted the validity test, which had an average validity score of 85.7% in the extremely valid category. According to the validity test results, the e-module is combined with the CTL method to resources elasticity to improve critical thinking abilities that are prepared to be evaluated for applicability and efficacy in the actual world.

Feminism is a social movement that has managed to bring about great changes in society in recent decades. Even so, the gender perspective has not been adequately inserted in the classroom in many areas, especially in educational textbooks. With the aim of going deeper into the subject and finding out the current situation in Primary Education classes, ten didactic units about the Middle Ages, belonging to Social Science books for 5th year of Primary Education that are currently being used have been analysed. From the results obtained, a lack of equity in terms of male and female representation was detected. Thus, it is established that there is a need for a review and change in the teaching material so that it participates in the creation of a fairer, more equitable and critical society.

Validity and Effectiveness of STEAM-Based Food Microbiology Electronic Booklet to Improve Critical Thinking Skills of Biology Students

Objective: This research and development aims to determine the validity and effectiveness of STEAM-based food microbiology electronic booklets based on the assessment of validators and the results of student critical thinking skills tests. Method: This research is an R&D study using the ADDIE development model. The developed product was tested on students using the One Group Pretest-Posttest research design. The validity test was carried out by giving a questionnaire to the validator, and the effectiveness test was carried out by giving a test in the form of 20 fill-in questions to 15 Biology students. Results: The results of this study are that STEAM-based electronic booklets are very feasible to use as teaching materials and learning media and are effective in teaching food microbiology because they can improve students' critical thinking skills. This study is recommended to carry out STEAM-based electronic booklet development innovations in other food microbiology materials. Novelty: The novelty of this study lies in the research variables, which focus on the validity and effectiveness of food microbiology electronic booklets integrated with the STEAM approach to obtain teaching materials that encourage students to be active in learning activities.

Analysis of the Needs of Cognitive Conflict-Based Teaching Materials Integrated with Augmented Reality on Heat

In the 21st century, the increasing development of technology and informatics has brought significant changes in the world of education. The independent curriculum is a response to the demands of education in the era of evolving technology. The main goal is to deepen concept understanding and strengthen student skills. Concept understanding is one of the basic competencies in the independent curriculum that students must have. But in fact, based on research of preliminary, it was got that the problem of concepts understanding from students was still low and tended to occur misconceptions, the use of cognitive conflict learning could contribute to improving understanding of concepts in the independent curriculum. The research purposes was to analyze the characteristics, validity, and practicality of teaching materials based on cognitive conflict. This research type is preliminary research. Three Padang City High School teachers were given a questionnaire to complete in order to assess how physics is being taught in classrooms. Subsequently, the survey was distributed to 130 students in class XI F across two distinct high schools in Padang City, with the objective of examining the requirements for physics educational resources in the classroom. Journal analysis was done in addition to the questionnaire to examine high school students' conceptual grasp of heat topic. Both quantitative and qualitative analyses were done on the data. Misconceptions about hot content and low concept understanding among students are the outcome of an analysis of multiple published papers. Furthermore, there are still few teaching resources available, less technology-integrated learning media, and a teacher-centered approach to education. Consequently, based on the findings of preliminary research, physics instructional materials integrating augmented reality technology and cognitive conflict must be developed

Using Duolingo Application In Learning Vocabulary: A Descriptive Qualitative Study At The Fifth Grade Of An Elementary School In Sumedang

The use of technology in education, particularly in language learning, has become increasingly prevalent. Among the numerous language learning applications available, Duolingo has gained significant popularity. The research titled "Using Duolingo Application in Learning Vocabulary" aims to analyze students' perceptions and to investigate the benefits and challenges that students and teachers find using the Duolingo application in teaching and learning vocabulary. This research was conducted in the fifth grade of an elementary school in Sumedang and data were obtained from 18 students namely 10 females and 8 males. The research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method, which used observation, questionnaires, and interviews as instruments. The findings show that students' perceptions of the use of the Duolingo application in vocabulary learning received a positive responses. The benefits of Duolingo were also identified (1) students can feel that motivation to learn English by using the Duolingo application, (2) students can learn new vocabulary after using the Duolingo application, (3) students find it easy to memorize and remember new vocabulary, and (4) students can use vocabulary in daily conversations. However, this research also revealed several challenges, such as a mismatch between the material taught at school and that in the Duolingo application, as well as limited access to technology such as laptops and speakers when used in class. The implications of this research show that, with appropriate adjustments and support, Duolingo can be an effective tool in improving students' English skills, especially vocabulary. Moreover, it demonstrates the need for improved technological infrastructure and alignment of learning materials.

일반계 고등학교에서 체육계열 전문교과 운영 경험에 대한 현상학적 연구

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to recognize the current situation, analyze the difficulties, and propose improvement measures for the effective operation of specialized subjects in physical education in general high schools. Methods: This study utilized Colaizzi's phenomenological analysis method to draw conclusions from five physical education teachers who had experience of operating specialized subjects in physical education in a general high school. Results: First, the specialty departments recognized the need for specialized practical subjects and in-depth training for career advancement. Secondly, the cases of poor teaching due to cumbersome course organization, insufficient budgetary support, harsh teaching environment due to complex teaching conditions, arbitrary application of teaching, and lack of teaching materials were identified as difficulties in the operation of specialized subjects in physical education. Third, it was concluded that teachers' willingness to personalize education and learner-centered elective courses are necessary for the continued operation of specialized subjects in physical education. Conclusion: In conclusion, in the upcoming 2022 revised curriculum, physical education specialty courses will be more accessible to students as general education electives, so it is necessary to find more effective ways to operate them through the experience of operating specialized subjects in physical education.

Building Trust to Study Trust: Paving the Way for Applied Trust Research in Social and Resocializing Institutions

Trust plays a pivotal role when aiding individuals in vulnerable positions. However, understanding the practical dynamics of trust remains limited. Empirical research on trust, particularly in collaborative and applied settings, is scarce. Trust in communications training is often treated as a nebulous concept, complicating its operationalization. This article delineates the initial stages of an applied research project on trust building in encounters between practitioners and citizens in vulnerable positions, outlines our project’s design, and details our experiences with cultivating trust with our participants. Employing an applied conversation analytic approach, we use video- and audio-ethnography to capture everyday interactions between employees and residents in social and re-socializing institutions. Combining a trust-building approach to get access to the field with rigorous analysis, we eventually aim to identify indicators of trust and distrust. Our distinctive approach, combining design, execution, and collaboration with inspiration from participant-oriented research, ensures relevance, accessibility, quality, and feasibility of our research will contribute to the conceptualization of trust as a social interactional phenomenon. It fosters co-ownership with practitioners, enhancing the impact of our findings, and allows us to rewrite the teaching material for future generations of social workers.

WEAVING THE HARMONY OF CULTURES INTO THE INFINITE TAPESTRY OF MATHEMATICS

This study explores Ethnomathematics as an innovative and transformative approach to teaching mathematics, highlighting its potential to promote inclusive and culturally relevant education. Ethnomathematics challenges the traditional view of mathematics as a neutral and universal science, proposing it as a cultural construct that reflects the practices, values, and needs of different social groups throughout history. By integrating students’ cultural realities into the school curriculum, this approach not only enriches mathematics education, making it more accessible and meaningful, but also serves as a catalyst for social inclusion and educational equity. Ethnomathematics promotes a dialogue between formal academic knowledge and diverse cultural practices, suggesting that mathematics education should be deeply contextualized and connected to students’ everyday experiences. This transforms mathematics education into something more relevant and engaging, while valuing and acknowledging the cultural traditions that shape students’ identities. This integration is seen as a form of social justice, as it challenges the hegemony of Western mathematical knowledge and values ​​the contributions of other cultures. To understand how Ethnomathematics can be effectively incorporated into the school curriculum, the study uses a rigorous bibliographical analysis, based on works by renowned authors such as Ubiratan D'Ambrósio, Milton Rosa, and Daniel Clark Orey. This detailed analysis allowed us to identify the main theoretical and practical contributions of Ethnomathematics, as well as highlight pedagogical strategies that value students' cultural traditions and adapt teaching materials for a more inclusive mathematics education. The study points to Ethnomathematics as a promising path for an education that respects and values ​​cultural diversity, promoting the development of critical and socially engaged citizens. This approach contributes to the construction of a more just and egalitarian society, where all forms of mathematical knowledge are recognized and celebrated.

A importância do aprofundamento teórico-metodológico na formação docente e nas produções de materiais didáticos dialógicos no curso de Letras

The Bakhtinian approach has been present in Brazilian official curricular documents since the 1990s. However, its pedagogical appropriation has been guided by the linguistic structure to the detriment of social interaction (Faraco, 2009), demanding efforts in Portuguese school subject teacher training. In this article, the objective is to show how the dialogic discourse theory deepening can contribute to teaching materials production, based on Portuguese language major training experience at the University of São Paulo in 2020. In this experience, the theoretical-methodological approach includes the concepts of speech genres (Bakhtin, 2016 [1952-1953]) and theme (Volóchinov, 2018 [1929]) and on the production of didactic proposals aligned with the Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC) (Brasil, 2018) and with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (Unesco, 2017). In this work, we analyze the proposal “Gênero do discurso e produção de texto: editorial” [“Speech genres and text production: editorial”], identifying the authors' observance of Bakhtinian discursive referents: i) sphere/field of human activity; ii) speech genre; iii) its relative stability; iv) multiple voices in statements; v) thematic totality. The results indicate dialogical quality in the material with the presence of elements that express social dynamics, confirming the relevance of theoretical deepening and its practical application in undergraduate teacher training.
