NOVOS PARADIGMAS AOS DOCENTES DO ENSINO SUPERIOR COM O USO DA INTELIGÊNCIA ARTIFICIAL PELOS ESTUDANTES, O CASO DO CHATGPT

This communication deals with “New paradigms for higher education teachers with the use of artificial intelligence by students, with the specific case of ChatGPT”, which aims to analyze the new roles that teachers must adopt with the use of artificial intelligence by students. Recently, the use of the famous ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence tool created by OpenIA, by society with access to technology, has been frequent. This practice has had a positive and negative impact on Teaching and Learning Process (TLP) in Higher Education institutions, requiring a general and specific analysis. about how teachers can adapt to this reality. Exposing this communication makes teachers aware of taking new positions and pedagogical measures during their Teaching and Learning Process. Furthermore, some results from surveys submitted to some higher education teachers from various national institutions will be presented. There will also be recommendations on how teachers can adapt to the new pedagogical reality without changing the real meaning of the Teaching and Learning Process.

Development Of Self-Use Module For The Problem-Solving Framework Of The Number And Mathematical Operations In The Form Of Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) Using The Bar Model

The curriculum transformation implemented in the Malaysian Education Development Plan (PPPM) 2013-2025 PPPM emphasizes the concept of high-order thinking skills (HOTS) applied in Mathematical problem-solving skills. However, it is seen to surprise the pupils and was not handled well. The level of achievement of the majority of the pupils in this country in Mathematics is still unsatisfactory. Pupils have difficulty getting good performance in Mathematics especially in public examinations in Malaysia. The mathematical problem-solving framework in the form of HOTS (KP2MK) using the Bar Model strategy that has been developed is seen to help overcome this problem. Therefore, this self-use module developed to ensure that KP2MK using the Bar Model strategy can be used optimally. It can be used as a guide for teachers and pupils in applying KP2MK using the Bar Model strategy in the teaching and learning (TnL) process in the classroom. The self-use module of KP2MK using the Bar Model strategy has been developed based on the Sidek and Jamaludin Module Development Model (2005). This self-use module has obtained validation from 5 experts in the field of Mathematics education. To ensure it has high reliability, a pilot study was conducted involving 35 pupils. The findings indicated that this self-use module has good content validity of 93% (content validity coefficient > 0.70) and good reliability (Cronbach's Alpha coefficient value = 0.96). The implications of the study show that this self-use module definitely can be used as a guide for teachers and students in applying KP2MK using the Bar Model strategy optimally in the TnL process in the classroom.

Development Of Website and Moodle Learning Management Systems at a YPPI-II High School

In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, school management continues to strive to maintain the quality of academic services so that Teaching and Learning Process (TLP) activities always run as they should. However, there are some barriers to TLP with the Distance Learning (DL) pattern, either from the preparative aspect of Human Resources (HR) or network technical aspects. Also, the partner schools do not yet have the official website facilities and significant DL media. Meanwhile, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is currently the main medium to reach students in DL. Teachers need to reconsider when, where, and how online learning occurs, and adapt their methodological approach. Therefore, through the Community Partnership Program (CPP), the implementation team offers the development of a school website and the use of a Moodle-based Learning Management System (LMS) in partner schools at SMA YPPI-II Surabaya. This community service activity is done to support the website as a medium of information and promotion and to maintain an efficient and effective existence. Likewise, the Moodle application is used as a support for online TLP in addition to direct learning through video conference with the digital platform, like Zoom or Google meets. The method of implementing CPP is by presenting, training, and mentoring the Moodle application and website for teachers and partner staff who will later act as users. The results of this activity made a positive contribution to the improvement of HR skills and access to school information with the related parties.

Effect of Problem Solving Method on Learning of Periodic Table by Using Game Instruction

The purpose of study was to investigate the effect of problem solvingmethod on learning of periodic table by using game instruction. Studyobjectives were (i) to determine the effect of game instructions onstudent’s problem solving skills; (ii) to investigate the effect of gameinstructional approach on student’s academic achievements: (iii) tocompare the mean score of high achiever students and low achieverstudents taught by game instruction approach. Design of the study waspretest posttest equivalent group design and study was experimental innature. Population of the study was comprised of the entire GovernmentGirls’ High Schools grade-IX chemistry students of District Nowshera.Sample of the study was 40 students of a Government Girls’ High School,District Nowshera. Twenty students were assigned to each control groupand experimental group on the basis of pre-test through paired randomsampling technique. Duration of treatment was 2 weeks. Data werecollected personally by the researcher. Analysis of data was done throughmean, SD and t-test. The following suggestions and recommendationswere made on the basis of findings. The results clearly show that theverities of teaching approach such as use of educational games in teachingand learning process can help to improve student achievement in learningof periodic table, moreover, use of educational games in chemistryclassroom during teaching learning process enhance student interesttoward chemistry. This study was significant for teachers, students andcurriculum development.

MANAGING THE PROCESS OF FORMATION OF THE CARIBBEAN CULTURAL IDENTITY IN THE HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

In nowadays society, the importance of knowing who we are and of where we go is essential to face the globalisation. It is in the teaching and learning process that professors can contribute to the formation of values, beliefs, customs which are a part of the cultural identity that allows self-recognition and recognizing the cultural diversity of the world we live in. The cultural identity is seen as a social necessity that goes beyond educational process and the formation of professional. According to this basis, the investigation is focused on the management of the process of formation the Caribbean cultural identity in students of the English Language career. To carry out this investigation several methods were applied, among them, the analysis - synthesis, the induction- deduction, observation, interview to get to know the core of the management in forming the Caribbean cultural identity and the current level of the variable. The investigation in progress favors the correct management of the Caribbean cultural identity taking into account the four dimensions of educative management: institutional, administrative, pedagogical, and extensions in the four components of the process. As a result of this investigation the content of Caribbean cultural identity has been incorporated in the strategy of career as well as in the academic year. Putting into practice a correct management of the Caribbean cultural identity allows to provide for high quality education, supports the students with a solid identity to face the digital era and globalization.

Implementation of Competency Based Education through Blended Learning approach in TVET sector of Pakistan: Critical Analysis using Literature Review

The teaching and learning process (TLP) has been reshaped in a timely manner as per need, for better understanding. Technical and Vocational Education & Training is one of the main sectors, delivering education and training simultaneously for the socio-economic development of every nation. The sector has been facing different types of challenges in different contexts. Competency Based Training and Assessment is one of the major domains, to maintain the demand and supply ratio of the market to cover the need. The normal delivery of TLP is interrupted when COVID – 19 pandemic situation occurs. To ensure the delivery of TLP in the situation blended approach was introduced to carry on the process without any disturbance, whereas the underdeveloped countries suffered from the pandemic, due to multiple issues. This research article covers the different scenario, and find out the gaps in the proposed conceptual framework that the disbalancing of developed and underdeveloped countries would be maintained. After finding, recommendations were also made that there is an acute need for online, offline, and face-to-face approaches for teaching and learning along with the transformation of Competency-Based Education (CBE) in the TVET sector of Pakistan to live, with sustainability and also for socio-economic development.

Hubungan Antara Kondisi Lingkungan Sekolah Dengan Aktivitas Belajar Siswa SMA Shailendra Palembang

The learning process is carried out by explaining and student activities are only limited to listening, taking notes and answering when asked questions by the teacher. This teaching andlearning process clearly does not encourage students to be active and creative. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the condition of the school environment and the learning activities of high school students Shailendra Palembang. The research method used in this study is the correlational method. The variables of this study consisted of the independent variable, namely the condition of the school environment and the dependent variable, namely learning activities. The population in this study were all students of class X at SMA Shailendra Palembang, while the sampling technique was based on a total sampling of 47 students. The data collection technique used a questionnaire technique, while the data analysis technique used the product moment formula. The results showed that the average condition of the school environment was 126.19 and the average learning activity was 127.77. This means that the average learning activity is higher than the school environment. Based on the results of the study, the condition of the school environment has a significant relationship with student learning activities at SMA Shailendra Palembang, as evidenced by the results of hypothesis testing with a value of rcount = 0.543 > rtable = 0.288.

Development of Information and Communication Technology Infrastructure in School using an Approach of the Network Development Life Cycle Method

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has become an essential requirement for the wider community, including in the educational environment. ICT has a vital role in supporting activities ranging from planning, operations, supervision, analysis to evaluation. In recent years, ICT has been considered mandatory for its existence in the educational environment. ICT can simplify the activities of teaching and learning process (TLP). ICT also closes distances apart and maintains the quality of TLP standards. This paper will describe the results of ICT development in a school using the approach method of network development life cycle. The result is that the connection to one Internet service provider being split into two networks, i.e. wired and wireless local area network. The selected bandwidth management methods are both simple queue and per connection queue. Besides, the terrace area on the 1st and 2nd floor can be served with very good to excellent quality. Whereas the terrace area on the 3rd floor can only catch low-quality signals without Internet connection. Moreover, applying the same service set identifier and password to both wireless routers allows users to handover between two wireless networks without having to re-register and reconnect to the serving network.

FIRST LANGUAGE INTERFERENCES INTO ENGLISH WRITING SKILL OF THE XIITH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMA NEGERI 1 KUPANG IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2017/2018

This project entitled “FIRST LANGUAGE INTERFERENCES INTO ENGLISH WRITING SKILL OF THE XIIth GRADE STUDENTS OF SMA NEGERI 1 KUPANG IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2017/2018.” This research is aimed at; 1) figuring aspects of first language (L1) interferences; and 2) the affecting factors of L1 interference into English writing skill. By applying descriptive qualitative approaches, there were some strategies using in both compiling and analyzing data. In collecting data, triangulation was applied such as interviewing teacher and students, classroom observation, and students’ writing assessment. The data were obtained by interviewing students and teacher and assessing writing skill of students of SMA N 1 Kupang in academic year 2017/2018 in the third grade of language program. Typology was applied in analyzing data using contrastive analysis. The result of this investigation proved that there are four levels of L1 interference found in students’ English writings. They are phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics. There are also four affecting factors that cause the occurrence of L1 interferences. They are mental process happening in students’ brain, students’ L1, Teaching and Learning Process (TLP) model in classroom, and under-frequency of English use. Mental process in Students’ brain and students’ L1 are novelty dimensions of this research.

The Application of Task-Based Learning to Improve the Quality of The Teaching and Learning Process of Reading in Indonesian Secondary Schools Context

This paper aims to discover the feasibility and the applicability of task-based learning in improving the quality of the teaching and learning process (TLP) of reading in Indonesian secondary schools in relation to the teaching of genre or text types as required by the national curriculum. This is an action research study which is qualitative in nature. The data were obtained through observations and interviews with the students and the collaborators. They were in the forms of field notes, interview transcripts, and photographs. In addition, this research applied the investigator triangulation, the theoretical triangulation and the time triangulation. The actions implemented in this research are discussing new vocabulary items and guessing meaning from context, applying skimming and scanning strategies, discussing grammar related to the text, conducting a question/answer game, providing various materials from different sources, and applying group/pair work. The results of the research show that the students’ motivation increased. They were more enthusiastic in learning reading. Moreover, the students were interested in various materials presented by the teacher. They could get involved actively in the reading learning process. In addition, the classroom interaction also increased. The students could interact very well with other students and the teacher. In conclusion, the use of task-based approach with its accompanying actions is effective to improve the teaching and learning process of reading.

Speech Acts Analysis on Teaching and Learning Process Used by the Teacher in MAN 2 Mataram in Academic Year 2016-2017

This study was aimed at finding out Speech Acts Analysis on Teaching andLearning Process used by the Teacher in MAN 2 Mataram in Academic year 2016/2017. The method of this research is qualitative research The data of this research were the utterances performed by the Teachers of MAN 2 Mataram. The research instrument was the researcher himself. Participant is the subject from which the data obtained (Arikunto, 2010: 172)The Researcher’s participant actively classification speech act by the Teachers on teaching and learning process.T he instrument of data by using video camera and observation. To analyze the data Based on Louis (2005:181). This study used observation and video recording as an instrument of data collection, the researcher applied coding system. In this research, there are two validity principles applied by the researcher. The results of the research show that there are three classifications of speech act performed by the Teachers in the aching and learning process . The results of the research show that there are three classification of speech act performed by the Teachers in the aching and learning process. they are 4 data of locutionary act , 30 data of Illucotionary act, 7 data of Perlocutionary act . So the total of data were 41 data of speech act are used By the Teachers in MAN 2 Mataram.

Perception of Teachers about Cultural Intelligence: An Essential skill in Global Economy

Culture in Organisation is as good as an ecosystem. A teacher with high cultural intelligence proves to be an asset to the Institute because he or she gets well adapted to the cultural differences, he/she absorb the cultural shocks and mingle in multi-cultural environment and helps to improve work performance. As the student follows the Teacher, the teacher imbibes good things in the student similarly the cultural intelligence of a student can be increased with the help of focused cross cultural or diversity training through workshop, culture displays, traditions, forming teams with diversities etc. The study is pursued to know the awareness of Cultural Intelligence (CI) and role of (CI) in Teaching and Learning Process (TLP) and also to know whether Teachers recommend more research in this concept.

DEVELOPING A LESSON PLAN FOR TEACHING ENGLISH FOR SPECIFIC PURPOSES TO ADULT LEARNERS AT A PRIVATE UNIVERSITY

Lesson plan is the written procedures of activities in the teachingand learning process. Some components which create lesson plan at leaststandard competence, basic competence, objective, and learning activities,also assessment. An observation found that lesson plan mismatched toteaching and learning process. Consequently, students did not meet goodcompetences in their learning. Considering this condition, the developedlesson plan is highly needed to overcome above problems. This article dealswith R n D research design proposed by Borg and Gall (1983). The steps ofresearch-based design focused on preliminary and information collecting,planning, and develop preliminary product of form. The instrument wasused is interview. The result of this study shown that developed lesson planis more attractive, applicable, and informative than previous one. In linewith result, development is very important in education. Educationaldevelopment is way to build creative and innovative thinking. Forms, Development and The Application of Music Media in The Kindergartens: A Comparative Study of Two Kindergartens

<p>This study was aimed at investigating the form of music media employed in the teaching and learning process (TLP) in the kindergartens, and the teachers’ effort to develop and apply music media in the TLP. The researchers used a qualitative approach. The research was conducted in TK Hj. Isriati Baiturahman and TK Negeri Pembina Semarang. The subjects of the study were principals, teachers, staffs and students. In collecting the data, the researchers used three different techniques: interview, observation and documentation. Then, the researchers used data reduction, categorization and data interpretation to analyse the data. The result shows that the teachers in both schools have utilized varied music media in the TLP. In TK Hj. Isriati, the teachers used music media in the form of music composition and electronic equipment; and the new music instruments were used by the teachers in extracurricular activities. Meanwhile, the teachers in TK Negeri Pembina utilized music media including music composition, music instruments and electronic equipment. The development of music media by the teachers was done by modifying lyrics, composing simple songs, utilizing rhitmical music instruments and employing electronic equipment in the TLP.</p>

Penerapan Pendekatan Kontruktivisme dalam Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SMP Negeri I Remboken

This study is conducted in order to describe the development model ofconstructivistic teaching in Indonesian language for the sake of maximizing thestudents’ attitude in critical thinking. Operationally this study is done inorder to describe the concept and strategy model and the materials of constructivisticIndonesian language teaching developed by the teachers in SMP Negeri 1 Rembokenfor the sake of maximizing the students’ attitude in critical thinking. TheIndonesian language teachers’ concept on the planning and the conduction ofconstructivistic teaching related to what Indonesian language teaching is, howthe textbook and the materials are used, the purpose of Indonesian languageteaching is, the role of the teacher, the role of the students in the teachingand learning process, the use of teaching methods and media, and the procedureof the conduction of constructivistic Indonesian language teaching and learningprocess in the classroom, was not done by the teachers when they were observed.Their constructivistic teaching attitude is very minimal.

It influenced the internalization of Islamic Educationvalues to students. According to the above background, contextual approach was assumed to create amore meaningful and effective teaching and learning process. The study revealed that most teachersdeveloped instructional material merely based on Teacher Association for Islamic EducationReference, a discrepancy between lesson plan and the implementation was found due to insufficienttime and too-much material, and a problem in applying various methods was found due to student’sbasic competence diversity ranging from the 75-80% to 20-25% mastery creating less conduciveatmosphere for effective teaching and learning process. Improving Coherence of The Students’ Sentences by Applying Thematic Progression And Personal Blog In The Sentence-Based Writing Class

This study was aimed at describing what kinds of thematic progressionpatterns mostly employed by the students, describing how to applythematic progression theory and personal blog in the sentence-basedwriting class, and finding out whether the use of thematic progressiontheory and personal blog give positive significances to coherence of thestudents‘ sentences. This is an action research study employing twocycles. The subject of the study was 24 students of group 2, in a class ofsentence-based writing (SBW), and the object of the study was students‘sentences created by the students in the teaching and learning process(TLP). The result of the study shows that thematic progression patternsmoslty employed by the students are constant theme pattern followed byzig zag and multiple theme patterns. In TLP, the materials were devidedand given to the students in two cycles. The first cycle focused onintroducing the thematic progression theory and its kinds of patterns.Then, in the next cycle the students focused on sharing ideas with otherclassmates via individual blogs. Based on the result of the study, teachingSBW using thematic progression theory gives its positive significance byvaried patterns used by the students. It can be seen from the analysis ofthe students‘ sentences from pretest, paragraf 1, paragraf 2, paragraf 3and posttest. The students also give positive responses upon its teaching and learning process using thematic progression and personal blogs basedon the pre and post test questionnaire data. It is hoped that the result ofthe study gives positive contribution to the students in preparing them towrite in bigger contexts - paragraph-based writing, genre-based writngand academic writing in the next coming semesters.Keywords: Mind mapping ; writing skills ; Class Action Research.

A National Research Survey of Technology Use in the BSW Teaching and Learning Process

The purpose of this descriptive-correlational research study was to assess the overall use of technology in the teaching and learning process (TLP) by BSW educators. The accessible and target population included all full-time, professorial-rank, BSW faculty in Council on Social Work Education–accredited BSW programs at land grant universities. BSW educators did not appear to be using technology in the TLP at an advanced or even moderate level. However, they were found to be more likely to incorporate technology in the TLP as the amount of technology available increased and as their constructivist teaching philosophy strengthened.
