Implementation of Educational Supervision in Improving Teacher’s Competency

Educational supervision is one effort that can be made to improve teacher competence. High teacher’s competency will have a positive impact on quality of learning. This research aims to analyze the implementation of educational supervision in improving teacher’s competency at SMP Negeri 5 Prabumulih. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The research subjects were the principal and teachers of SMP Negeri 5 Prabumulih. Data was collected through interviews, observation and documentation. The research results show that: (1) the implementation of academic supervision is carried out by the school principal once every semester, the principal also acts as a coordinator, leader, consultant and evaluator; (2) teacher’s competency is characterized by the application of pedagogical competency indicators, which include student characteristics, subject matter in accordance with the curriculum, theory, teaching modules, learning implementation plans, syllabus, mastery of the learning process with technology, reflection, assessment and evaluation; (3) the implementation results show that the implementation of educational supervision in improving teacher competence has gone well, as evidenced by the results of the recap of educational supervision assessments. It contributes to the school’s principal applies educational supervision comprehensively to get reputable teacher’s competency.

MENTORING FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL SCIENCE TEACHERS IN PADANG CITY FOR CARRYING OUT DIY-SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS WITH LOCAL MATERIALS

The centralization of learning through a platform called Geschool to support Learning-From-Home in Padang city gives significant impacts to students’ learning competency, especially for science subject. Geschool provides the same materials and try-outs to all students and each lesson is scheduled at one time for all schools in the city. At this rate, there is a concern that science lesson could not be presented as its nature which is a process of gaining new knowledge which usually include laboratory work. This could lead to difficulty achieving the goal of science learning according to Kurikulum 2013. To address this concern, our team initiated a program to assist science teachers in SMP Negeri 15 and 34 Padang to conduct simple experiments with easily found local materials. Each participant was equipped with a pocket book containing 18 experiments relevant to the material for seventh, eight, and ninth grade. After the program ended, participants were required to submit a video of science experiment they did at home. Students’ responses to quiz and presentations of their own science experiments were taken as a measurement of scientific inquiry. Feedbacks from participants indicate eagerness to include these simple experiments as a part of science lesson onward..

Sosialisasi Dampak Bahaya Penyalahgunaan Narkotika Kepada Pelajar di SMP Negeri 4 Sesulu, Kecamatan Waru, Penajam Paser Utara

The purpose of the socialization activities held is to provide education, understand and reminder of insight to students about the impacts and dangers that can arise from drug abuse based on a review of legal, health, economic, social and community aspects. This activity was carried out at SMP Negeri 4 Sesulu, Kecematan Waru, Penajam Paser Utara (PPU) Regency on July 31, 2023. The participants who participated in this activity amounted to 40 people, consisting of students, teachers of SMP Negeri 4 Sesulu and representatives from the Sesulu Police Station. The method applied to this activity is by lecture techniques, and question-and-answer (discussion). Through this activity, it is expected to provide a comprehensive increase in understand and insight into the impacts and dangers that can be caused by drug abuse to students from legal, health, economic, social and community aspects as well as the negative impacts caused to the future of Indonesia's young generation.

PENGARUH REINFORCEMENT TERHADAP KEDISIPLINAN BELAJAR SISWA DI SMP NEGERI 05 BALIKPAPAN

This paper argues about the relationship between reinforcement and learning discipline of State Junior High School (SMPN) 5 Balikpapan students. As for the background in this research is the importance of reinforcement in the sense of positive or negative reinforcement in the process of creating student learning discipline. The problems discussed in this thesis can be formulated in the form of questions, namely how is reinforcement At SMP Negeri 5 Balikpapan, how is student learning discipline at SMP Negeri 5 Balikpapan, and is there a relationship between reinforcement. Based on the results of the research analyzed, it shows that the reinforcement given by the teachers of SMP Negeri 5 Balikpapan is in the very high category with a frequency of 55. 56%. The remaining 5. 56% are in the high category, 5. 56% are in the medium category, 1. 85% are in the low category. Meanwhile, the level of learning discipline of SMP 5 Balikpapan students is in the high category with a frequency of 7. 41. The remaining 5.56% is in the very high category, 3.70% is in the medium category and 3.70% is in the low category. Because the frequency results obtained at all levels are almost the same, it can be concluded that the learning discipline of SMP 05 Balikpapan students is in the high category. The results of the hypothesis test show that there is no relationship between reinforcement and student discipline at SMP Negeri 5 Balikpapan with a product moment correlation coefficient (r) of 0.606 in the interpretation table of correlation data, which is at a level between 0. 600-0. 800 the correlation is in the high category. The table value of the correlation coefficient for 5% is 0.666 and at a significance level of 1% is 0. 789. With the r count r table. Thus, it is concluded that there is no correlation between reinforcement and student discipline at SMP Negeri 05 Balikpapan.

PENGARUH PENGUNAAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN BAGI PROSES PENDIDIKAN SISWA SMP NEGERI 2 KOTA SORONG

Abstract: Basically education, Indonesian education has existed since 1901 during the Dutch occupation of Indonesia and in general education in the 2nd century after the colonial period, early education was formed in families where parents were the first educators before the child became acquainted with the world of education. As for the background of the writer's interest in writing this thesis, it is based on the results of observations and the initial interviews the writer conducted with students and teachers of SMP Negeri 2 Kota Sorong where there are still factors that influence the teaching and learning process. Laziness, student mortality, and the standard of school infrastructure is still limited. The research method used, research method description analysis with data collection techniques, field studies which include observation, interviews and questionnaires. Adapyn in determining the final result uses an analytical technique, namely correlation. Based on the results of the analysis and conclusions in the Discussion chapter, the writer moves away from the creativity of students in class during the teaching and learning process, the teacher is more creative in choosing media during the learning process. So it should be divided again so that it is in accordance with the explanation of the material that is applied during the teaching and learning process.

Training on The Use of Edmodo as A Learning Media

The purpose of this training is to train teachers to use the online learning media platform Edmodo to make it easier for teachers to learn. The method used in this training was training and workshops. The participants in this training were teachers of SMP Negeri 3 Huamual, West Seram Regency, totaling 30 people, with a male percentage of 36% and a female of 64%. The steps in conducting the training are as follows: Conducting a survey at Huamual 3 Public Middle School, West Seram Regency, and identifying the problems faced by schools related to distance learning. (1) We analyze the needs of schools for widely used E-learning platforms. (2) Conduct a literature study on the use of the Edmodo application. (3) Prepare training support tools and materials. (4) Determine and prepare the material to be delivered. Training on the use of Edmodo Media in the learning process went well and smoothly. The results of this activity are: After this training, teachers will acquire new knowledge and skills in using the Edmodo-based learning environment in the teaching and learning process. The results of the evaluation through observation during training using Edmodo, the teacher was very enthusiastic, this was seen during the question and answer during the work practice.

The Influence of the School Principal’s Leadership Style and Teacher’s Motivation on Teacher’s Discipline in SMP Negeri at Penukal Utara District

This study aimed to determine the influence of the principal’s leadership style and the teacher’s motivation on the discipline of SMP Negeri teachers in Penukal Utara District. This type of research was quantitative research with a research design using an ex post facto research design. The sample in this study was a total of all SMP Negeri teachers in Penukal Utara District, consisting of 97 teachers. Data collection techniques used a questionnaire data analysis techniques include quantitative descriptive analysis techniques and multiple regression. The results of this study stated that 1) there was a significant influence of the principal’s leadership style on the discipline of teachers in SMP Negeri in Penukal Utara District; 2) there was a significant influence of teacher motivation on the discipline of SMP Negeri teachers in Penukal Utara District; and 3) there was a jointly significant influence of the principal’s leadership style and teacher’s motivation on the discipline of teachers of SMP Negeri in Penukal Utara District.

The Impact of Socio-Economic Status on Teachers' Performance in SMP Negeri 2 Parigi Gowa Regency

This study aimed to determine the impact of socio-economic status on the performance at SMP Negeri 2 Parigi, Gowa Regency. This study uses a correlational with a quantitative approach. The population in this study was SMP Negeri 2 Parigi teachers in Gowa Regency, totaling 18 teachers, Collection technique data by questionnaire. Data processing techniques using SPSS t test, namely for looking for a correlation between the variables X and Y. In calculating the hypothesis obtained value Sig 0.031. Data collection techniques through questionnaires. These results indicate that the Sig value is less than 0.05 (0.031 less than 0.05). This means that the hypothesis proposed by the researcher is accepted, namely there is positive and significant influence in the study entitled "Status Influence Socio-Economy on the Performance of Economics Teachers in SMP Negeri 2 Parigi can be tested the truth. Thus it can be concluded that socioeconomic status is very influential and significant on teacher performance. In the sense that this research able to answer the truth of the hypothesis proposed.

Peningkatan Penggunaan Social Learning Network Bagi Siswa-Siswi SMP Negeri 2 Syamtalira Aron Kab. Aceh Utara

Today the development of the internet is increasing rapidly and has penetrated into several fields, including the field of education. Learning media also develops and creates a Social Learning Network. Edmodo is an online learning medium that combines several Learning Management Systems and Social Network features into a Social Learning Network specifically made for educational purposes. To obtain an effective learning process, teachers and students must have innovative and interesting learning media, this is what is experienced by SMP Negeri 2 Syamtalira Aron North Aceh Regency. Teachers of SMP Negeri 2 Syamtalira Aron North Aceh Regency have carried out training on increasing the use of Edmodo learning media, but students still have not used social network-based learning media. This is the background for the service team to provide training on "Increasing the Use of Social Learning Network for Students of SMP Negeri 2 Syamtalira Aron North Aceh Regency ". This activity was held at the Syamtalira Aron 2 Public Middle School Computer Lab using lecture methods and hands-on practice. The participants of this training were 30 people, all of whom were students of SMP 2 Syamtalira Aron North Aceh Regency. The activity lasts for one day with a duration of four hours. Through this activity, it is hoped that the participant's skills and understanding will increase regarding the use of the Edmodo learning social network

Efektivitas Manajemen Sekolah Dalam Mengimplementasikan Diversifikasi Kurikulum (Studi Kasus Di SMP Negeri 2 Kota Sibolga)

The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of school management in implementing curriculum diversification (a case study at MSP N 2 Sibolga). This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Jalan JL. Oswald Siahaan No. 35, Sibolga ILIR, Kec. North Sibolga, City of Sibolga Prov. North Sumatra. With observation data collection techniques, interview documentation. Data analysis used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The result of the research is that the curriculum is ideally implemented life-oriented, at the level of basic abilities for development purposes such as reading, writing, and critical thinking. Furthermore, a curriculum that is oriented to the lives and experiences of its students can be used as an alternative curriculum that adapts to regional conditions and the environment around the school. All teachers of SMP Negeri 2 Sibolga are given the freedom in compiling the syllabus even though there are syllabus provisions from the education office. The preparation of this syllabus is not centered on the education service but a modified syllabus, meaning that the syllabus is adapted to the character of the students. In the implementation of the school management program, the strategies applied to achieve the implementation of learning include: program socialization, problem solving, quality improvement, and monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of school programs. The teaching and learning process (PBM) or interactions that occur between teachers and students at SMP Negeri 2 Sibolga are very accurate, this is because the teaching process is harmonious. Evaluation of the curriculum in implementing learning that needs to be assessed starts from the aspects of the objectives to be achieved, both curriculum objectives, learning objectives and student learning objectives. Each value evaluation is based on what abilities to be developed, while each ability contains elements of knowledge, skills and attitudes and values. Determination of the assessed aspects refers to the success criteria that have been determined in the curriculum.

Pelatihan Penggunaan Aplikasi Mendeley untuk Sitasi Artikel Ilmiah pada Jurnal Bereputasi Nasional

This article contains the results of training on using the Mendeley application conducted by Jambi University lecturers and students. This training needs to be carried out to help teachers master the use of the Mendeley application to cite scientific articles in nationally reputable journals. This paper aims to improve the writing of scientific articles for teachers at SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi. The method used in the implementation of this service is participatory story action research (PAR). The participants in this training were teachers at SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi. From the results of the implementation of activities, teachers can understand well about 1) basic material related to plagiarism; 2) material for using the Mendeley application; and 3) skilled at using the Mendeley application for citation of scientific articles in nationally reputable journals. The conclusion of this activity is that it has a positive impact in the form of mastering the use of Mendeley application citations to improve scientific article writing among teachers of SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi.

INCREASING TEACHERS' CREATIVITY IN TEACHING THROUGH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF AUDIO VISUAL MEDIA IN SMP NEGERI 4 DUMAI

This paper is based on the teachers’ low creativity at SMP Negeri 4 Dumai. Therefore, it is necessary to take an action to overcome this problem through the implementation of audio-visual media. Based on the description regarding the identification and limitation of the problem, this paper is focused on increasing teacher creativity. Hence, the formulation of the problem is whether there is an improvement in teacher creativity through the implementation of audio-visual media at SMP Negeri 4 Dumai. In accordance with the background and formulation of the problem, this paper aims to increase the creativity of teachers in SMP Negeri 4 Dumai through the implementation of audio-visual media. This type of research is school action research (PTS) which aims to determine the success of teachers’ creativity improvement in teaching through the use of audio-visual media at SMP Negeri 4 Dumai. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that teacher creativity in teaching at SMP Negeri 4 Dumai can be increased through the use of audio-visual media. Thus, the teacher acceptance rate increased. Comparison of teacher creativity in teaching in cycle I increased in cycle II. If cycle I that achieved 65% was increased to 71.5% in cycle II.

PELATIHAN PEMBUATAN SOAL BERBASIS KOMPUTER DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN WONDERSHARE QUIZ CREATOR

Evaluation of learning carried out by teachers of SMP Negeri 1 Tinondo so far is still conventional and has not touched the maximum use of technology. Limited knowledge about technology-based learning and evaluation causes teachers to be less innovative and creative in carrying out learning and assessment. In addition, this is also because teachers think that the use of technology in learning and evaluation is quite difficult. In this regard, it is necessary to conduct training for SMP Negeri 1 Tinondo teachers so that they have knowledge and skills in using information technology in learning evaluation. The purpose of this training is for teachers to have information technology knowledge and skills in learning evaluation so that the assessment of learning outcomes is more effective and efficient. The method of implementing this activity consists of four stages, namely: (1) preliminary analysis, (2) preparation, (3) implementation and (4) evaluation. The results of the training showed that the teachers of SMP Negeri 1 Tinondo had understood and were able to compile computer-based evaluation questions using the wondershare quiz creator

WRITING INDONESIAN ARGUMENTATIVE TEXT: A DEVELOPMENT OF EFFECTIVE TEACHING MODULES AT SMPN 6 IN GORONTALO, INDONESIA

This study aims to (1) describe the design of the teaching module, (2) to develop the teaching module, (3) explore the quality of the teaching module, and (4) produce a practical teaching module, "Writing Argumentative Texts" for Indonesian Language Subjects to support learning at Junior High School in Gorontalo City. The research method is Research and Development (R&D). Data collected by conducting a needs analysis through field observations and interviews with students and teachers of SMP Negeri 6 Gorontalo City in 2022 concerning Teaching Modules for Writing Argumentative Texts in Indonesian Language Subjects used in the learning process, difficulties experienced during carrying out the learning process and material which students have not mastered. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive statistics. The results showed that all aspects of the module assessment, including linguistic, visual, content feasibility, and presentation, met the applicable and valid criteria with an average of 3.77. The results of the first and second phase trials showed that the teaching modules were attractive to students. In addition, the evaluation results of the test subjects met the specified Minimum Completeness Criteria so that it could be concluded that each test subject could understand the material for writing argumentation texts. These results show that the module was effectively used in a limited trial of two small groups. Thus, the teaching module developed is valid, practical, and effective for learning Indonesian in the material of writing argumentative texts.

The Effect of Reward Punishment System and Work Culture on Teacher Job Satisfaction

Teacher job satisfaction is one of the incentives for teachers to do their job well to achieve school goals. Of course, in order to educate high-quality students and achieve the goal of running a school, schools must pay attention to the level of teachers' job satisfaction. The purpose of this study was to describe the impact of reward system and work culture on job satisfaction among teachers in SMP Negeri 1 Aceh Tengah. This study used quantitative methods and research design (survey). The population used in this study was teachers from SMP Negeri 1 Aceh Tengah. The techniques used in this study were questionnaires, observations and recordings. The data analysis technique used in this study was multiple regression analysis. The result is shown below: 1). The reward and punishment system has an impact on teachers' job satisfaction, the t value is 3.576, and the t table of 1.683 indicates that 3.576>1.683, then reject Ho and accept h1. 2). Work culture has an impact on teacher job satisfaction, t-count is 3.443, t-table is 1.683, indicating that the value is 3.443>1.683, then reject Ho and accept H1. 3). The reward system and work culture have an impact on teacher job satisfaction, the calculated f value is 16,733, and the f table value is 3.23, indicating that the value 16,733 > 1,683, then Ho rejects and H1 accepts becomes . Therefore, the reward system and work culture had a significant impact on the job satisfaction of SMP Negeri 1 Aceh Tengah teachers.

Principal's Role in Improving Teacher Performance in SMP Negeri 3 Way Bungur, East Lampung Regency

The purpose of this study was to reveal the principal's role in improving the teachers' performance of SMP Negeri 3 Way Bungur, East Lampung Regency. This study uses a descriptive-analytic method with a qualitative approach. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 3 Way Bungur, East Lampung. The research subjects were the Principal and Teachers of SMP Negeri 3 Way Bungur. This data collection technique was obtained from observations, interviews and summary of field notes. The analytical techniques used in this study are: (1) data collection, (2) data reduction, (3) data presentation, (4) and drawing conclusions. The results showed that there are 7 roles of principals in improving teacher performance including, 1) principals as educators; 2) the principal as manager; 3) The role of the principal as administrator; 4) The role of the principal as a supervisor; 5) The role of the principal as a leader; 6) The role of the principal as a motivator; and 7) The role of the principal as an innovator.

THE INFLUENCE OF INFRASTRUCTURE LEARNING MOTIVATION STRATEGIES ON STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT SMP NEGERI 2 CAMPALAGIAN MANDAR POLEWALI DISTRICT

This study aims to examine the effect of learning strategies, learning motivation, infrastructure on student achievement in SMP Negeri 2 Campalagian, Polewali Mandar district. This study uses quantitative methods using primary data obtained from questionnaires. The population in this study were teachers of SMP Negeri 2 Campalagian, Polowali Mandar Regency. The number of samples in this study was 39 respondents. The analytical tools used include validity and reliability tests, normality tests, multicollinearity tests, heteroscedasticity tests, multiple linear regression analysis tests, f tests, t tests, and R² tests. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that: the variables of learning strategy, learning motivation, and infrastructure have an effect on student achievement at SMP Negeri 2 Campalagian, Polewali Mandar Regency.

Supervisi Akademik Berkelanjutan Dapat Meningkatkan Kompetensi Guru dalam Menyusun Silabus dan RPP di SMPN 6 Bathin Solapan

This research was conducted from March to April 2022. This research aims to provide benefits for school principals as researchers in solving the problems of students who arrive late and problems that are not appreciated, so that it becomes better and provides a conducive atmosphere at SMP Negeri 6 Bathin Solapan . The subjects of this research were teachers of SMP Negeri 6 Bathin Solapan. This research was conducted using classroom action research methods which lasted for 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of the stages of planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The research method used by researchers is to carry out academic supervision which includes traditional supervision and clinical supervision. The results show that continuous academic supervision has been scientifically proven to be able to increase teacher competence in preparing syllabus and lesson plans at SMP Negeri 6 Bathin Solapan. This is proven by the increase in the number of good teacher syllabuses from 31% to 83% after academic supervision. In addition, the number of good quality lesson plans also increased from 31% to 89%.

Pengaruh Kompensasi, Motivasi, Dan Budaya Organisasi Terhadap Kinerja Guru (Studi Pada SMP Negeri 1 Ngluwar Magelang)

This study was conducted to analyze and describe the effect of compensation, motivation and organizational culture on teacher performance at SMP Negeri 1 Ngluwar.The population in this study were all teachers of SMP Negeri 1 Ngluwar as many as 50 people, with the sampling technique used was saturated sampling. Data collection with a questionnaire in the form of a google form link sent via the WhatsApp application. The hypothesis testing tool uses SPSS For Windows Version 17.0 software.From the results of the regression test, the motivation variable (X2) has the largest beta value, namely 0.405 organizational culture variable (X3) has a beta value of 0.374 compensation variable (X1) has a beta value of 0.026. The value of R Square shows a value of 0.573 or 57.3 this number means that the variation of the dependent variable (Y) can be explained by the independent variable (X) by 57.3%, while the remaining 42.7% is explained by other variables not in this study. In conclusion, all teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Ngluwar are influenced by compensation, motivation and organizational culture. However, the most dominant factor influencing teacher performance is the motivation variable.

Development of Interactive Teaching Materials at SMP Negeri 3 Nusawungu Cilacap Regency

The purpose of writing is to develop interactive teaching materials as material for teachers and students in the implementation of the learning process. Therefore, it is necessary to develop innovative teaching materials, so that students can achieve mastery learning. The research subjects were teachers of SMP N 3 Nusawungu grades 7, 8 and 9. Data collection tools were used through observation and interviews. The research data analysis technique is interactive analysis which includes data collection, data presentation and conclusions. The results showed that: there was awareness of the teachers of SMP Negeri 3 Nusawungu in developing interactive teaching materials. It can be seen that the teacher is able to create a variety of teaching materials with the style and competence of each teacher. The tangible form appears in the form of various interactive teaching materials.
