The Aceh Besar District Land Agency is a government agency that has the task of administering affairs in the agrarian or land and spatial planning sector in government to assist the president in administering state government. The Department of Land Affairs manages state property, namely land. Management is done by means of measurement. Measurements are usually done manually. This requires quite a long time because you have to take measurements by spreading a tape measure according to the plot of land and requiring more than one person to measure it. In this study, the calculation of land area uses the haversine formula method, the haversine formula is a method for determining the distance between two points by taking into account that the earth is not a flat plane but is a plane that has a degree of curvature. The haversine formula method calculates the distance between 2 points based on the length of the straight line between the 2 points on longitude and latitude. The system is designed web-based so that the results of a GIS-based application are obtained to be able to map and carry out land surveying measurements on digital images.

The Accuracy of the Titan 1+ 10 Hz Global Positioning System for Measures of Time, Distance, and Top Speed

Introduction: Global Positioning System (GPS) technology provide quantifiable data concerning the number and types of movements athletes complete across training session and match player. The Titan 1+ is a novel GPS device that has not been investigated to establish measures of accuracy or reliability. The purpose of this study was to establish device accuracy for metrics including distance, top speed, and time between the Titan 1+ 10 Hz GPS device and criterion measures. Criterion measures include tape measure, stopwatch, and radar gun for measures of distance, time, and top speed, respectively. Methods and Materials: 16 male NCAA collegiate soccer players completed running protocols of varying distances and speeds, including long and short duration straight-line running (100m Run and SLR), tight and gradual change of direction running (COD T and COD G), and a team-sport simulated circuit. Results: The Titan 1+ was not significantly different from tape measured distance during the SLR protocol for 10m jog and all movements speed across 20m and 40m (p < .05). The Titan 1+ was significantly correlated to radar gun top speed measures for all distances and movement speeds during the SLR (p < .01). The Titan 1+ was significantly different from the stopwatch for measures of time accuracy (p < .0001), however significant correlations were identified for all jogging distances (p < .01), the 20m and 40m strides (p < .01), and the 10m sprint (p < .01). COD G and COD T distances were accurately measured between the Titan 1+ and tape measure (p < .05). The Titan 1+ revealed correlations for time measures during jogging and striding during the COD G (p = .001 and p < .0001) and during the COD T (p < .0001 and p< .0001). Device accuracy was established for measure of time during the TSSC (p < .05), with time measures significantly correlated between the Titan 1+ and stopwatch (p < .01). Top speed for the TSSC was significantly different between the radar gun and Titan 1+ device (p = .001), but both devices were significantly correlated (p < .01). Conclusions: The results of the present study indicate that the Titan 1+ demonstrates accurate measures of time, distance, and top speed when compared to criterion measures.

Detection of body shape changes in obesity monitoring using image processing techniques

Body measurements are primarily made with a tape measure. In measurements taken with a tape measure, the inability to take measurements from the same part of the body each time, incorrect positioning of the tape measure, the occurrence of incorrect measurements, and the need for a person to take the measurements are significant problems in the traditional measurement method. Due to the social distancing rule that must be followed during the Covid-19 pandemic, the close contact between the person to be measured and the person taking the measurement became the starting point of this study. This study focuses on the detecting body shape changes using image processing techniques with 2D imaging. The novelty of the work is that non-contact body measurements are taken more accurately and reliably using the cosine theorem. Regular monitoring of obese patients is important in combating obesity, which is also the source of many health problems. In the monitoring of obese patients, it is necessary to determine the rate of slimming in areas where fat accumulation is intense. The error margin between the real measurements of human models and the calculated measurements was calculated as an average of ± 5.16% for waistline and an average of ± 4.58% for hip size. The cosine theorem was used instead of the ellipse formula used in the literature, and it was observed that the cosine theorem obtained results closer to reality. It is also thought that the developed system will be beneficial not only for extracting body measurements but also for extracting body measurements contactless in the textile sector. The study demonstrates the feasibility of image processing for non-contact body anthropometry and shape tracking.

Features of the use of unmanned aircraft during the inspection of the scene of the incident during the investigation of violations of the road safety rules or vehicle operation

The article highlights the procedural and tactical features of the inspection of the scene of a traffic accident with the use of an unmanned aerial vehicle. To achieve this goal, the forensic features of conducting an inspection of the scene during the pretrial investigation of crimes of violations of road safety rules or vehicle operation at each of the preparatory, working, and final stages are revealed. The current state and prospects of the use of unmanned aerial vehicles by the bodies and units of the National Police during the inspection of the scene of a traffic accident were studied. The advantages of using an unmanned aerial vehicle during the inspection of the scene of a traffic accident are given, the concept of an unmanned aerial vehicle is defined, the methods and tactical methods of using an unmanned aerial vehicle. Scientific and practical recommendations are given on the procedure for recording crimes with the help of an unmanned aerial vehicle regarding violations of the rules of road traffic safety or vehicle operation during the inspection of the scene of the incident. It was concluded that the use of an unmanned aerial vehicle in the activity of the investigator during the investigation of traffic accidents is legitimate and provides much more advantages than the use of other methods of recording, such as measuring with a manual or laser tape measure, taking photos or video recording with cameras or video cameras. The use of UAVs during the inspection of the scene of the incident significantly reduces the time of its inspection, while providing the opportunity to obtain high-quality and sufficient evidentiary material.

The impact of an organized physical activity program on the health indicators of students from differ-ent cultural groups in second chance school setting

The primary objective of this research was to assess the impact of a structured physical activity program on the health indicators of adult students attending a multicultural Second Chance School (SCS). The study encompassed a total of 62 SCS students aged 19 to 57, who were divided into two groups: experimental and control. The intervention program consisted of two sessions per week spanning 20 weeks, with each session lasting 60 minutes. The exercise intensity ranged from 65% to 85% of HRmax and included various activities such as aerobics, weight exercises, dumbbell routines, and hiking. Measurements were taken at both the commencement and conclusion of the organized physical activity program. Specialized equipment, including a wall-mounted stadiometer, precision scales, a unique tape measure, an automated sphygmomanometer, and the DXA machine, was employed for data collection. Data analysis involved ANOVA variance analyses, descriptive statistics, and T-Tests utilizing the SPSS software. The results revealed a statistically significant primary influence attributed to the 'measurement' factor (p<.001) across all health indicators, except for total BMD and total BMC, when comparing the experimental and control groups. In terms of gender disparities, men exhibited higher measurements in body mass, fat-free mass, belly size, and blood pressure, while women displayed greater fat mass and total body fat. To conclude, the intervention program had a positive impact on improving the health indicators of adult SCS students. Future research endeavors should explore the implementation of Physical Activity programs in other SCSs throughout Greece. Mismatch between fixed classroom furniture and anthropometric measurements among university students: Relationships to ergonomic risk.

Appropriate arrangement of classroom ergonomics is necessary for maintaining health and improving academic performance, learning, and motivation. We aimed to determine the anthropometric measurements and ergonomic risk levels of students during a handwriting activity on a fixed desk and chair and to analyze the mismatch and relationships between these factors. This study included 149 university students (female:73, male:76). Anthropometric measurements (lower and upper extremity length, shoulder height, elbow-rest height, hip-popliteal length, popliteal height, knee height, the distance between tragus and wall, and between acromion and wall) were done with a tape measure. The Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) tool was conducted to determine the ergonomic risk level while students wrote a standard text on a fixed desk and chair as if they were taking notes in the classroom. The mismatch was evaluated between backrest height and sitting shoulder height, seat height, and popliteal height. The Pearson Chi-Square and the Spearman Correlation test were used for statistical analysis. The median values of the participants' age, height, weight, and BMI were 22 years, 1.70 m, 68 kg, and 23.18 kg/cm2, respectively. Most students had inadequate ergonomic posture while writing on fixed furniture at the university (Median RULA grand score: 4). More mismatches for seat height (54.4%) were found in high ergonomic risk levels but mismatches for backrest height did not follow a similar result. More investigation should be conducted with prospective studies including interventions like adjustable furniture.

Timing of Breast Cancer Related Lymphedema Development Over 3 Years: Observations from a Large, Prospective Randomized Screening Trial Comparing Bioimpedance Spectroscopy (BIS) Versus Tape Measure.

The PREVENT randomized control trial monitored progression to chronic breast cancer-related lymphedema (cBCRL) following intervention for subclinical breast cancer-related lymphedema (sBCRL) assessed by bioimpedance spectroscopy (BIS) versus tape-measure (TM). This multi-institutional trial demonstrated a 92% risk reduction of developing cBCRL. This secondary analysis reviews the timing of sBCRL and cBCRL following breast cancer (BC) treatment. Women at risk of cBCRL (n = 919) were screened regularly up to 36 months after BC treatment using either BIS or TM. Following diagnosis of sBCRL, patients underwent a 4-week compression sleeve intervention. The time in months from BC treatment to detection was reviewed at 3-month intervals. In total 209 patients developed sBCRL (BIS: n = 89, TM: n = 120) and were eligible for intervention. 30 progressed to cBCRL postintervention (BIS: 7, TM: 23). More than half of patients had measurements consistent with sBCRL within 9 months of BC treatment. Patients continued to have initial detections of sBCRL, regardless of screening method, with rates remaining consistent in years two and three (p > 0.242) post surgery. Additionally, 39 patients progressed to cBCRL without developing sBCRL or receiving intervention across the 3-year period. The timing of sBCRL detection demonstrates that patients continue to be at risk years after treatment and may continue to progress to cBCRL years after surgery. Early detection of sBCRL allows for early intervention decreasing the likelihood of progression to cBCRL. Patients should continue to be monitored for a minimum of 3 years following completion of cancer treatment. Specifically, careful targeted monitoring over the initial 9-month period is important.

Efficacy of Percussion Massage Therapy Applied to the Lower Extremity on Pain, Edema, and Quality of Life in Pregnant Women: Randomized Controlled Trial

Background: Pain and edema in the legs are the most common problems in pregnancy. This study examined the effect of percussion massage therapy applied to the lower extremities on pain, edema, and quality of life in pregnant women. Methods: Sixty pregnant women between 24 and 36 weeks of pregnancy were included in the study. Pregnant women were randomly divided into two groups: the percussion massage treatment (PMT) group (n = 30) and the control group (n = 30). Twelve sessions of percussive massage therapy were administered to the bilateral medial gastrocnemius, lateral gastrocnemius, peroneus longus, and tibialis anterior muscles of pregnant women included in the PMT group, three times a week for four weeks. The lower extremities of the pregnant women in the control group did not get any massage therapy. A Visual Analog Scale (VAS) was used to assess pain. A tape measure was used to measure the ankle, knee, and thigh circumference. The Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS) was used to evaluate fatigue, and the Short Form-36 (SF-36) was used to assess quality of life. Results: When comparing pre-treatment and post-treatment results within each group, statistically significant differences were found in both groups in terms of right/left ankle, knee, and thigh circumference measurements, and SF-36 physical function (PF) measurements (p < 0.05). When the difference measurements between the groups were compared, a statistically significant improvement in the PMT group was detected in VAS (p = 0.000), right/left ankle (p = 0.002/p = 0.006) and right/left hip circumference measurements (p = 0.006/p = 0.008), FSS (p = 0.009), and SF-36-role emotional (RE) (p = 0.000), mental health (MH) (p = 0.005), social function (SF) (p = 0.005), and body pain (BP) (p = 0.003) measurements. Conclusions: PMT was more effective than the control group in parameters such as pain, ankle and thigh circumference measurements, fatigue, and some sub-parameters of quality of life. PMT could be preferred to enhance the quality of life of pregnant women by improving parameters like pain, edema, and fatigue. Sewerage and drainage manhole measuring using terrestrial laser scanning techniques

ABSTRACT A common method for measuring sewer and drainage manholes with tape measure lacks precision in cases of sediment accumulation or deep manholes, impacting data accuracy. This paper proposed a method for measuring sewer and drainage manholes using terrestrial laser scanning. This method first utilizes a plane fitting equation and the RANSAC method to determine the ground and segmentation planes, enabling automatic trimming of the point cloud of the manhole. Subsequently, the pipe’s inlet and outlet extraction is done using the point cloud combining Region Growing method. Finally, according to the feature of cylinder pipe and elliptical cylinder pipe, the inlet and outlet are reconstructed using the extracted point cloud. Experimental results show that the radius of pipe’s inlet or outlet can be measured by the proposed method with an accuracy of 5.20 mm, the height difference of the manhole can be measured with an accuracy of 7.05 mm, meeting the requirement of a permissible deviation of 10 mm for measuring the lowest point of manhole specified in the “ Code for construction and acceptance of water and sewerage pipeline works “ (GB50268-2008).

Influence of Bust Size and Waist Circumference on Electrocardiographic Left Ventricular Voltage Index in Blacks Africans

Background: Several studies have investigated on relationship between anthropometric characteristics andelectrocardiographic left ventricular mass (LVM). These studies, performed mainly in Caucasians, have mostlyfocused on influence of body mass index on left ventricular voltage indices (LVVI), and rarely on bust size and/or waist circumference.Aim: To determine influence of bust size and waist circumference on LVVI in healthy sedentary people of blackAfrican origin.Method: Experimental, prospective, cross-sectional descriptive study including 66 volunteers (20 women) aged 18to 35 years. They were received in morning on empty stomach. Bust size and waist circumference were measuredwith tape measure. Standard electrocardiogram was performed at rest. R and S wave amplitude and QRScomplex duration were measured. Sokolow-Lyon, R in aVL, Cornell and Cornell product indexes were calculated.Correlation was sought between each LVVI and anthropometric characteristics studied.Results: Bust size and waist circumference were positively correlated with LVVI. Correlation with bust size wasstatistically significant for all LVVI except for R in aVL index, while for waist circumference it was only significantwith R in aVL index.Conclusion: This study confirms relationship between anthropometric characteristics and LVVI. Therefore,interpretation of LVM anomalies from LVVI should also take into consideration morphotype of each individual.

Ribs with Anterior Protrusion (Winged Ribs) Treated Using Percutaneous Chondroplasty.

Thoracic features play a significant role in determining various plastic surgery techniques. Particularly, the thorax has potential for excessive anterior projection, commonly referred to as winged ribs. This study aimed to describe a treatment method for addressing winged ribs for aesthetic purposes using percutaneous chondral management. Thirty-two female patients underwent FrontXribs from February to March 2023. Two angular measurements were obtained: (1) the angle formed by lines intersecting tangentially to the shoulder and the lower gluteal border; and (2) the angle formed by a line tangential to the greatest anterior projection, intersected by a vertical line on the standing axis. Length measurements were obtained using a tape measure at the position of the greatest thoracic projection. Pulmonary function studies were conducted. All variables were measured before surgery and 6 months postoperatively. On average, patients were 25 years old. The average operative time was 51.1 minutes, and all patients underwent general anesthesia. The average increase for angular measurement 1 was 26.1 degrees, whereas that for angular measurement 2 was 3.43 degrees. The average decrease in anterior chest length during the postoperative period was 9.66 cm (P < 0.001). Spirometric tests showed no significant changes 6 months postoperatively. The FrontXribs technique for treating winged ribs effectively reduces anterior costal protrusion, as evidenced by the angular variation of projections and the reduction in thoracic length at this level. No adverse effects on respiratory function were observed 6 months postoperatively.

High Current Measurement of Commercial REBCO Tapes in Liquid Helium: Experimental Challenges and Solutions

Recent advances in high-temperature superconductors (HTS) have made them extremely attractive for low-temperature, high-magnetic-field-power applications such as in fusion technology, where the advantages over traditional low-temperature superconductors (LTS) allow for the design of fusion reactors operating in different and more convenient regimes. However, the performance enhancement exhibited by novel conductors poses several challenges for the measurement of their superconducting properties. The high critical currents coupled with the relatively low thermal stability of the conductors and their mechanical fragility render this task a challenge, as the angular anisotropies complicate the experimental setup. In this work, we describe the development of our novel high-current measurement facility, focusing on the solutions introduced regarding critical aspects such as the superconducting leads and the sample holder design. We show how simple but effectively designed solutions can be adopted to combat the complexity of the measurement. The results reported in this work guide the development of a measurement system able to withstand high critical currents (I &gt; 1500 A) at high magnetic fields (µ0H &gt; 12 T) by evaluating the angular response of 4 mm wide short samples (L ~ 7.5 cm) in a robust and reproducible manner.

RESPON PRODUKSI TANAMAN BAWANG MERAH (Allium ascalonicum L.) TERHADAP BOKASHI KOTORAN SAPI DAN PUPUK ROCK FOSFAT PADA MEDIA GAMBUT

The development of shallot cultivation in Riau needs to be done by optimizing peatlands. However, problems such as low pH and low nutrient availability need to be addressed. The use of cow manure bokashi can increase the availability of soil nutrients and the addition of P fertilizer from rock phosphate is expected to increase the availability of P in peat soil. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of cow manure bokashi and rock phosphate fertilizer in increasing the production of shallot plants in peat media. This research was carried out at the UIR Experimental Garden, Pekanbaru, from September to December 2022. The materials used in this study were Brebes shallot seedlings, cow manure bokashi, rock phosphate, urea, KCl. The tools used in the research included hoes, tape measure, cutter knife, analytical scales, camera and stationery. The research method used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The first factor was the dose of cow manure bokashi with 4 treatment levels: without cow manure bokashi, 40, 80 and 120 g/polybag Bokashi cow manure. The second factor was the dose of rock phosphate fertilizer with 4 treatment levels: 0, 0.8 g/polybag, 1.6, 2.4 g/polybag. Each experimental unit was repeated 3 times. Observational data were analyzed statistically and further tested for HSD the 5% level. Application of cow manure bokashi with rock phosphate can increase shallot production. Application of cow manure bokashi 80 g/polybag with rock phosphate dose of 2.4 g/polybag increased the wet and dry shallot bulb weight.

Atomic structures of a bacteriocin targeting Gram-positive bacteria

Due to envelope differences between Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, engineering precision bactericidal contractile nanomachines requires atomic-level understanding of their structures; however, only those killing Gram-negative bacteria are currently known. Here, we report the atomic structures of an engineered diffocin, a contractile syringe-like molecular machine that kills the Gram-positive bacterium Clostridioides difficile. Captured in one pre-contraction and two post-contraction states, each structure fashions six proteins in the bacteria-targeting baseplate, two proteins in the energy-storing trunk, and a collar linking the sheath with the membrane-penetrating tube. Compared to contractile machines targeting Gram-negative bacteria, major differences reside in the baseplate and contraction magnitude, consistent with target envelope differences. The multifunctional hub-hydrolase protein connects the tube and baseplate and is positioned to degrade peptidoglycan during penetration. The full-length tape measure protein forms a coiled-coil helix bundle homotrimer spanning the entire diffocin. Our study offers mechanical insights and principles for designing potent protein-based precision antibiotics.

Using mid-upper arm circumference z -score measurement to support youth malnutrition screening as part of a global sports and wellness program and improve access to nutrition care.

Historically, mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) has been instrumental to identifying malnutrition in children under 5 years living in resource restricted settings. Less attention is directed to at-risk, school-aged youth. Updated and validated pediatric age- and gender-specific MUAC growth curves expand malnutrition screening opportunities (2 months-18 years) including overweight/obesity. An innovative partnership was created to integrate MUAC z-score measurement trainings and screenings in the Real Madrid Foundation's (RMF) Social Sports Schools (S3) program, which provide sports and wellness programming to under-resourced communities. This work aimed to investigate the feasibility of leveraging non-healthcare professionals (non-HCPs) to identify malnutrition risk as part of RMF S3. This global, two-part program on malnutrition risk identification included training adult facilitators and screening children attending RMF S3. RMF facilitators were trained with didactic lectures on malnutrition, and practical hands-on learning of proper MUAC z-score tape measurement. Aggregate data on facilitators and the number of times to correctly administer the MUAC z-tape were recorded. Aggregate data on child malnutrition risk screenings were collected. Nine countries participated representing Europe, Pacific Asia, Africa, Latin America, and North America. In total, 143 RMF facilitators were trained, and 318 children were screened across 11 sites. More than half of facilitators were male (56%, n = 80), and majority were coaches (41.3%, n = 59), followed by staff (25.2%, n = 36), and volunteers (16.1%, n = 23). Facilitator attempts ranged from 1 to 4 times for proper MUAC z-score administration with mean 2.12 (± 0.86). There were no significant differences for attempts among RMF facilitator types (p = 0.10). Sixteen percent (n = 51) of children screened were recommended for HCP referral, with concentrations in Pacific Asia (68%, n = 35), Latin America (24%, n = 12), and Africa (8%, n = 4). Findings from our sample demonstrate that integration of MUAC z-score based malnutrition risk screening within community sports and wellness programming among non-HCPs is feasible, and that some regions with less frequent access to routine health care may experience greater benefit from these programs. Equipping non-HCP facilitators in community sports and wellness programs with training on malnutrition screening provides a means to meet under-resourced families where they live to begin conversations around malnutrition risk with the hope of establishing additional pathways to care.

A CROSS-SECTIONAL CADAVERIC STUDY OF THE PREVALENCE AND MORPHOMETRY OF PSOAS MINOR MUSCLE IN WESTERN MAHARASHTRA

Introduction:The Psoas minor muscle is a long, elongated, spindle-shaped muscle thatis rarelypresent in the human body. Despite its relatively minor role in human biomechanics, understanding its prevalence and morphology can be crucial in certain surgical and diagnostic contexts. Aim:The primary aim of this cross-sectional cadaveric study is to investigate the prevalence and describe the morphometry of the Psoas minor muscle in a population from western Maharashtra. Materials and Methods:63 well-preservedformalin-fixed and soft-embalmed human cadavers were examined during routine dissection. The prevalence, sexual dimorphism, morphology, morphometry, and laterality of Psoas minor muscle were assessed.Digital vernier calipers and tape measure were used to measure the psoas minor muscle morphometry. Result:The study reveals a prevalence rate of 33.33% for the Psoas minor muscle in the studied population. The muscle was present in 21 cadavers out of 63 cadavers. It was bilateral in 17.46% (11/63) cadavers and unilateral in 15.87% (10/63) cadavers. In all the examined cases muscle took origin from a T12-L1 vertebra, and was distally connected to the iliopubic eminence.The muscle was found unilaterally in 05 males and 05 female cadavers, and bilaterally in 07 males and 04 female cadavers. Conclusion:The study provides valuable insights into the presence and anatomical characteristics of the Psoas minor muscle among the population of Western Maharashtra. The prevalence as well as morphometry and morphology of this muscle is of significant academic interest for anatomists, surgeons, radiologists, kinesiologists, and physiotherapists for diagnostic purposes.

Advancements in Face and Neck Contouring: Integrating Radiofrequency-Assisted Liposuction with FaceTite and Buccal Fat Pad Excision for Facial Slimming.

The integration of neck liposuction with FaceTite Manipulus Radiofrequency (RF) technology and buccal fat pad excision for enhanced neck rejuvenation promise heightened precision and efficacy in sculpting the neck and jawline. Neck liposuction, coupled with RF technology, provides controlled thermal energy for adipose tissue treatment and collagen remodeling, while buccal fat pad excision offers refined contouring of the lower face and neck. This integrated approach aims to optimize patient outcomes and advance the field of esthetic plastic surgery. A prospective study was conducted from 2016 to 2023 on 80 consecutive patients who presented to the author's private clinic and required neck remodeling surgery for esthetic purposes. Patients were monitored and clinic appointments were scheduled at intervals of 0, 1, 3, 6 and 12 months post-treatment for evaluation. A tape measure recorded submental length at 1 and 6 months, and a satisfaction survey was administered one week before surgery and after six months. Physicians assessed improvement using a five-point scale for patient satisfaction and a four-point scale for overall improvement. All patients underwent successful RFAL treatment, consistently achieving satisfaction with the outcomes. The average reduction in submental length measured 23 mm during the 6-month follow-up period. Additionally, the removal of buccal fat pads played a pivotal role in facial slimming and enhancing the esthetics of the upper cheek region. Accurate height and length estimation in hospitalized children not fulfilling WHO criteria for standard measurement: a multicenter prospective study

In hospitalized children, height should be measured. When world health organization (WHO) height measurement gold standards is impossible, the ideal height estimation technique is still unclear. We conducted an international prospective study in eight different pediatric intensive care units to assess the accuracy, precision, practicability, safety, and inter-rater reliability of 12 different height estimation techniques, based on body segment measurement extrapolation, or other calculations using previous or projected heights. All extrapolation techniques were performed on each child, and later compared to their WHO gold standard heights. A total of 476 patients were enrolled. In the < 2-year subgroup, board length use and growth chart extrapolation performed best. In the ≥ 2-year subgroup, growth chart extrapolation and parents’ report were the most accurate, followed by height measurement alongside the body with a tape measure. In both groups, body segment extrapolations were poorly predictive and showed mean bias and limits of agreement that varied a lot with age. Most body segment-based techniques presented with frequent measurement difficulties, but children’s safety was rarely compromised. The inter-rater reliability of body segment measurement was low in the < 2-year subgroup.Conclusions: To accurately estimate height in hospitalized children, health care professionals should integrate the accuracy, precision, practicability, and reliability of each measurement technique to select the most appropriate one. Body segment-based techniques were the least accurate and should probably not be used. Identification of Potential Factors Associated with Cellulitis Following Lymphovenous Bypass Surgery in Breast Cancer Survivors.

Breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer, with around 2.3 million cases diagnosed in 2020. One in five cancer patients develops chronic lymphedema caused by multifactorial triggers and treatment-related factors. This can lead to swelling, skin infections, and limb dysfunction, negatively affecting the patient's quality of life. This retrospective cohort study aimed to determine the associations between demographic and breast cancer characteristics and postoperative cellulitis in breast cancer survivors who underwent lymphovenous bypass surgery (LVB) at Mayo Clinic, Florida. We performed a retrospective chart review. Data were collected retrospectively from 2016 to 2022. Sixty adult breast cancer survivors who underwent LVB were included in the final analysis based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. Patients were excluded if they did not meet the inclusion criteria or had incomplete follow-up data. Demographic and surgical data were extracted, including body mass index (BMI), type of anastomosis, number of anastomoses, and preoperative cellulitis status. Lymphedema measurements were performed using tape measurements. Fisher's exact test was used to determine statistically significant associations between variables and postoperative cellulitis. Postoperative cellulitis was more common in patients aged 60 to 69 years (43.2%), whites (75.0%), overweight or obese (90.9%), with one to four anastomoses (81.8%), and nonsmokers (79.5%). The mean International Society of Lymphology (ISL) criteria for both postoperative cellulitis and no postoperative cellulitis was 1.93. Statistically significant associations with postoperative cellulitis were found for the number of anastomoses (p = 0.021), smoking status (p = 0.049), preoperative cellulitis (p = 0.04), and the length of years with lymphedema diagnosis variable (p = 0.004). Our results suggest that a greater number of anastomoses, smoking, preoperative cellulitis, and years with lymphedema are significantly associated with an increased risk of postoperative cellulitis. Awareness of these risk factors is crucial for monitoring and early treatment of infections following surgery.
