Examines problems of tactical-criminalistic complexes in the theory of criminalistics and practice of combating modern crime. Critical analysis of scientific approaches and discussion of the perspectives of individual scientists on study issues proposed author’s vision of solving the above problems. It is proved that a tactical operation along with a tactical combination are variations of tactical-criminalistic complexes, is a relatively new, specific activity categories, revealing the functional aspect of complex forensic tools and tactics used by the investigator (judge) in the process of criminal proceedings.
 Considered scientific approaches to the understanding of tactical operations and tactical combinations, criteria of their differentiation. It is noted that a tactical combination and tactical operation dynamic categories, the essence of which is manifested in the procedural and non-procedural actions (events) that are in interaction and mutual influence. Despite some external similarity, they are separate tactical means, and their distinction is based on certain criteria, the list and content of which are proposed for consideration.
 It is proved that a tactical operation should be considered as a special kind of tactical and forensic complexes the investigation of crimes and prosecution of criminal proceedings as a separate category of criminalistics. It is proved that in modern conditions of reforming of the criminal procedural legislation, the criminal justice system study the problems of complex use of tools are relevant and demand-driven practices. Suggested a promising direction of research for further research on the problems.
