Modelling using unified software development process (USDP) method for repository system in Mulawarman University

Lack of academic document storage or academic electronic-based data in Mulawarman University is the basis of this research. As a Republic Indonesia Regulation in No. 82/2012 on Electronic System and Transaction Act. 3. Therefore, Mulawarman University is required to provide electronic document or electronic-based data storage thus easy for those who need it. In this study, Unified Software Development Process (USDP) methodology as a modeling system has been implemented. Meanwhile, PHP and MySQL as a system development tool have been explored. A document storage system or website-based data called a repository information system has been created as a result of this research. Furthermore, this repository has ten types documents that can be stored and retrieved, consisting of journals, books, proceedings, articles, university regulatory, guidance, reports, course materials, letters, and other academic data for Mulawarman University.

Multipotent stem cell-derived retinal ganglion cells in 3D culture as tools for neurotrophic factor gene delivery system development

Non-viral neurotrophic factor (NF) gene therapy is a new paradigm in glaucoma treatment with the potential for neuroprotection and regeneration of damaged retinal ganglion cells (RGCs). To improve nanoparticle gene delivery systems and generate a suitable RGC cell model to facilitate in vitro investigations, we have developed mouse multipotent retinal stem cell (MRSC)-derived RGCs (XFC-3 cells) that express key RGC characteristics as demonstrated through biomarker expression profiling and stimuli-inducible neurite extension evaluation. Dicationic gemini surfactant-, single-walled carbon nanotube-, and K2-lipopolyamine polymer-based gene delivery systems were formulated and evaluated in three-dimensional (3D) A7/XFC-3 and XFC-3/XFC-3 co-cultures to validate the model for transfection efficiency (TE) and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) bioactivity measurements, which helped identify the K2-NPs as having high TE (63.1% ± 1.4%) and high cell viability (94.4% ± 0.4%). Overall, XFC-3 cells are suitable for the construction of 3D in vivo-like tissue models and enable the screening of RGC-aimed gene delivery systems for neuroprotective treatment of glaucoma.

Virtual Learning Platform with Short Message Service (SMS) Notification

This study aimed to analyze, design, develop and evaluate a virtual learning platform with short message service text notification for SLSU. Co-Model, a combination of Waterfall model and ADDIE model was used as a framework of the system’s development. PHP and MySQL were used as primary systems development tools. An online SMS API provider was also used for sending SMS text messages. The system was launched online before the gathering and evaluation of data. It is accessible using the web address, www.lmsdemoweb.com. A descriptive survey method was used in gathering the data and adopted questionnaires were used to evaluate the performance of the developed system. The developed system was found to be outstanding in terms of functionality and debugging; it was also good in terms of complexity, interface design, and support services. The results of the functionality assessment conclude that the system is a good platform for virtual learning.

Modeling Zika Virus-Associated Birth Defects in Nonhuman Primates.

In utero infection with Zika virus (ZIKV) during pregnancy can lead to the development of birth defects and postnatal deficits. A nonhuman primate (NHP) model of congenital ZIKV infection can help fill the gaps in knowledge where tissue studies are required to define viral pathogenesis and identify targets for therapeutic intervention. This model system has already identified critical features of ZIKV pathogenesis in congenital infection. Before translating these NHP studies to human clinical trials, we must understand the similarities and differences between human and NHP fetal immune system development, neural development, and infant assessment tools. Because of the overall similarity between fetal and infant development in humans and NHPs, this NHP model can complement human clinical trials by defining immune correlates of protection and evaluating therapeutic interventions.

Software Quality Methodology to Train Engineers as Evaluators of Information Systems Development Tools

To have software tools that facilitate the rapid development of applications and generate information systems is a requirement in a globalized world. Worldwide in the engineers training field it is basic to apply measurements and evaluations to the rapid design tools used to obtain applications faster and generate quality information systems in order to determine the best for this purpose. This paper revises MECRAD and proposes its introduction in the formation programs of engineers which is a methodology for the technical evaluation of the visual environments tools to generate information systems where this type of commercial products are evaluated using as reference basic elements of international standards. With this methodology one can evaluate and select in an effective and easy way, those tools and development platforms best suited to create applications in visual environments, in order to generate information systems with quality and sustainability. It is useful for higher education institutions, organizations, companies and system’s end users, among others.

AbstracCorn Seed is a very popular commodity crop planted by farmers especially Indonesia because many who use this plant besides many benefits it is also a panga plant. Users usually have difficulty choosing corn seeds that they want to buy because of the many types of corn seeds, soil construction, and prices. So that a decision support system is needed that can help users determine Corn Seed according to the alternatives and desired criteriaIn this study, the method used is the Analitycal Hierarchy Process (AHP), System development methods are made using the Prototyping method using a Unified Modeling Language (UML) system development tool consisting of Use Case, Activity Diagram, Sequence Diagram, and Class Diagram and using the PHP programming language and using the MySql database.This method is used because it is able to choose the best alternative so as to produce optimal decisions in accordance with the specifications and funds owned by the user.

In the world of education, technology is not only used to seek information and disseminate information, but technology is also used for the assessment of the achievement of learning objectives. At this time, to determine whether or not a learning goal is achieved, it is usually measured only on the value derived from the manual tests performed. Through the process of making the value is done manually, then the time required for decision making becomes inefficient. Therefore, it is necessary to design an application of the value-taking system using the Digital Worksheet (LKD). System development tools used include: process model, data flow diagram, and data model. With this application is expected students can complete the task better and help the process of taking the value to know whether or not achieved learning.

Requirements engineering of Malaysian radiological medical emergency response simulator

ABSTRACTThe development of the Malaysian radiological medical emergency response simulator emphasized human factors according to the stakeholder's tacit and explicit knowledge. These human factors criteria were usability tested and analysed according to the socio-technical components. These analyses and interpretations were corroborated by the statistical criteria which emphasized on business process-based requirements modelling and simulation system development tools. Recent findings suggested that there were no differences of risk perceptions among these multi-agency stakeholders in the respective emergency planning framework and simulator. However, the stakeholders had differences in knowledge and experiences in the radiological and nuclear emergency planning framework (RANEPF). This paper analyses the proposed conceptual framework for further enhancement of the current RANEPF simulator. This development was in concurrence with the proposed hypothesis of the process factors and response diagram. The majority (75%) of the stakeholders and experts, who had been interviewed, witnessed and accepted that the simulator would be effective to resolve various types of disaster and resource management issues. We suggest further investigation to establish the additional functionality of the simulator as a strategist, condensed, concise, comprehensive public disaster preparedness and intervention guidelines to be a useful and efficient computer simulation.

Design of an Interactive Mobile Application for Maternal, Neonatal and Infant Care Support for Tanzania

Reducing maternal and infant deaths’ rates in the developing countries, particularly in sub-Sahara Africa, remain a big challenge. Despite efforts by governments, the reductions have been unsatisfactory. To accelerate the reduction in maternal and infant deaths, m-health has been proposed as a viable, economical and effective intervention, able to reach the low income and disadvantaged groups. Mobile phone-based applications are among the m-health interventions that have been found to have positive outcomes for different healthcare challenges, such as improving clinical attendance and skilled delivery, and reducing perinatal mortality. However, the adoption of smartphone-based applications for health in Tanzania has been slow. Some of the likely contributing factors might be low technology exposure by the majority of the population and English language skills’ limitations. In this work, we developed a mobile application for providing interactive support to users, thus complementing other solutions available such as SMS and other smartphone apps. The main advantage of this app is the presence of interactive features that enable patient-provider communication. We adopted the Rapid application development (RAD) model for developing the application. We used UML modeling language tools for designing the application. The mobile application’s technical architecture uses various technologies and system development tools such as PHP programming language for the web application, MySQL database management system and Android Studio mobile application development platform.

Variations on Agent-Oriented Programming

Occurrence of the agent paradigm and its further applications have stimulated the emergence of new concepts and methodologies in computer science. Today terms like multi-agent system, agent-oriented methodology, and agent-oriented programming (AOP) are widely used. The aim of this paper is to clarify the validity of usage of the terms AOP and AOP language. This is disclosed in two phases of an analysis process. Determining to which concepts, terms like agent, programming, object-oriented analysis and design, object-oriented programming, and agent-oriented analysis and design correspond is accomplished in the first phase. Analysis of several known agent system engineering methodologies in terms of key concepts used, final resulting artifacts, and their relationship with known programming paradigms and modern tools for agent system development is performed in the second phase. The research shows that in most cases in the final phase of agent system design and in the coding stage, the main artifact is an object, defined according to the rules of the object-oriented paradigm. Hence, we say that the computing society still does not have AOP owing to the lack of an AOP language. Thus, the term AOP is very often incorrectly assigned to agent system development frameworks that in most cases, transform agents into objects. DOI: 10.15181/csat.v5i1.1361

Research on architecture of intelligent design platform for artificial neural network expert system

Based on the review of the development and current situation of CAD technology, the necessity of combination of artificial neural network and expert system, and then present an intelligent design system based on artificial neural network. Moreover, it discussed the feasibility of realization of a design-oriented expert system development tools on the basis of above combination. In addition, knowledge representation strategy and method and the solving process are given in this paper.

Architecture Approach in System Development

The purpose of this paper is to describe a practical solution of architecture approach in system development. The software application is the system which optimizes the transport service. The first part of the paper defines the enterprise architecture, its parts and frameworks. Next is explained the NATO Architecture Framework (NAF), a tool for command and control systems development in military environment. The Development of Multimedia and Interactive System, through Network for Learning in Opportunities School

This research focused on the development of multimedia and interactive system, through network for learning in the opportunities school. This system was used as a channel for students to learn outside the classroom and as a teaching management tool for teachers. Tools for system development were Microsoft Visual Studio program while the database management system was MySQL. PHP and Java scripts were for writing commands. To evaluate the efficiency of the developed system, sample group and questionnaires were processed. The population of this research was a group of teachers and students of the Bankamwa school (Weboonratsamakee) in total of 97 people. The result of experiment shows that group recognizes the performance of system in the higher level and the system is efficient for its purposes.

Development of the model and method of selecting the description of rational architecture of information system

The results of research of the model and method of selecting the description option of the rational architecture of the developed information system are considered. The method of synthesis of description options of the architecture of the developed IS based on the CLOPE algorithm is proposed. The following is developed: a) formal descriptions of the functions of the Provider's and the Customer's objectives that maximize the degree of satisfaction of their functional requirements to IS; b) the game-theoretic model of selecting the option of description of the rational architecture of the developed information system, which is a bimatrix noncooperative game of the IT service Provider and Customer; c) the method of finding a solution to the game of the Provider and the Customer to select the option of description of the rational architecture of the developed information system based on pure strategies by finding the Nash equilibrium point, which is a sequence of actions aimed at finding the option of description of the architecture of the developed IS, which to the greatest extent meets the Provider's and the Customer's requirements. The proposed solutions allow considering the process of designing the architecture of the developed IS as the decision-making problem of selecting the rational option of description of the architecture of the given system. The initial data for solving this problem are formal descriptions of the knowledge obtained from the descriptions of the system requirements. In the course of solving this problem, it is proposed to synthesize a set of descriptions of the architecture of the developed IS on the basis of formal descriptions of knowledge about individual requirements. Then, it is suggested to select an option in the set that to the greatest extent meets the expectations of the Provider and the Customer of the developed system. This approach to designing the architecture of the developed IS is unique in current research and existing requirements management systems. The formal descriptions of the functions of the Provider's and the Customer's objectives, game-theoretic model and method allow automating the process of designing the architecture of the developed information system. This is achieved through the development of formal models and methods, describing the operations of forming the representations of IS requirements on the knowledge level, synthesis of a set of the architecture description options on the basis of the generated representations of requirements and selection of the description option of the rational architecture of the developed IS. These methods allow transition from the synthesis of descriptions of the information system as a plurality of individual functional requirements to the synthesis of a unified description of the information system, taking into account the overlapping of individual functional requirements. This will improve the system-wide effect of the developed system through harmonizing the descriptions of individual functions of this system in the early stages of its life cycle. The developed model and method, as well as information system development tools on their basis, allow unifying and simplifying the processes of pre-project survey and design of information systems. This, in turn, reduces the time and cost to implement IT projects of development and upgrading of information systems. In addition, the use of the developed methods allows adapting the Provider's previous solutions to the peculiarities of the Customer's new requirements.

Формирование приоритетов развития персонала в автоматизированной системе управления

The article discusses the automation features of information processing system for human resource develop-ment management in the machine-building enterprise. The author brings up an issue of the need to improve this process through the development of a common approach to information processing and decision-making. The author also suggests a model of information processing based on the Shewhart-Deming cycle of continuous improvement. A staff development lev-el analysis is described in detail as a problem of handling a complex structure of indicators which are difficult to formalize. According to the author, the main feature of staff criteria is the fact that they have critical levels. To account this feature, an indicative approach to the problem as well as a corresponding methodology is suggested. The methodology determines the construction of a priority vector for staff development in the task on the basis of the analysis of the level of development of group criteria, as well as a global criterion. The article presents an algorithm of implementing a software package and de-scribes its features. The choice of Delphi 7.0 environment is explained using the Oracle databases tools for software system development. Based on the consistent application of the competency approach, the author proposes a universal structure of staff data for analysis. A base for information structuring is the concept that is typical for constructing professional standards. The software package is designed for HR managers who plan staff development activities. The developed software package has been tested in a machine-building enterprise and showed its effectiveness.
