The asymmetric rotor model with the admixture of two quasiparticles is used to describe the 32 66,68,70Ge and the 30 64,66Zn isotopes. The single-particle space contains the N = 3 p 3 2 f 5 2 p 1 2 and N = 4 g 9 2 proton and neutron levels. They are coupled to the Davydov core by the quadrupole-quadrupole and the Coriolis force. Blocking of the single-particle levels by the core is taken into account by pairing. The quasiparticles interact via the surface delta interaction. The positive- and negative-parity states including their transitions are described well. Special emphasis is put on the alignment of g 9 2 neutron and proton pairs. Inclusion of the γ-deformation in the description improves the results considerably.
