Herein, a novel supramolecular gel, OGW, is successfully synthesized by the rational introduction of long alkyl chains and Schiff base groups. Strikingly, OGW exhibits a bright blue-white aggregation-induced emission under UV light and and was utilized as a chemosensor for the detection of Fe3+ and Cu2+. The lowest detection limits were determined to be 5.37 × 10-8 M and 5.18 × 10-8 M, respectively. The gel OGW was systematically characterized by SEM, FTIR, XRD, XPS, rheological measurements, and fluorescence spectroscopy. Additionally, the prepared OGW-based film was employed as an excellent fluorescent writing material for the detection of Fe3+ and Cu2+.
