The Role of Posyandu Cadres in Reducing Stunting in the Community

The general background stunting is a major health issue that threatens the quality of human resources in Indonesia. Specific background posyandu cadres play a crucial role in disseminating health information and educating mothers to prevent and reduce stunting in communities. Knowledge Gap: While previous research has focused on general health initiatives, there is limited evidence on the specific role of posyandu cadres in reducing stunting in rural areas. Aims this study to examine the role of posyandu cadres in reducing stunting rates in the local community. Results the findings demonstrate that posyandu cadres have successfully carried out their role by conducting regular health programs such as providing supplementary food, vitamin A, blood supplements for pregnant women, and monitoring child growth. These efforts have contributed to a steady decrease in stunting rates. Factors influencing the success of the programs include the knowledge and active participation of trained cadres, high community involvement, and support from local health workers and officials. Novelty this study highlights the importance of community-based health initiatives and posyandu programs in addressing stunting, emphasizing the need for well-trained cadres in achieving long-term health outcomes. Factors Related to Compliance with HBsAg Screening Among Pregnant Mothers in Bengkulu Province

Background:The low number of Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) screenings indicates that the people of Bengkulu Province have a limited understanding of the importance of such examinations. In Bengkulu, 1.61% of pregnant women, or approximately 47.550 individuals, are positive for hepatitis B infection. This is partly due to the low rate of HBsAg screening among pregnant women. Objective:To determine the prevalence of HBsAg screening compliance among pregnant women and the factors influencing it. Method:This research utilized a cross-sectional study design. A multistage random sampling method was used to select 488 pregnant women from nine districts and one city in Bengkulu Province. Data analysis was performed using multiple logistic regression. Results:The findings showed a non-compliance rate for the HBsAg test of 77.87% (95% CI: 73.95-81.34). Factors associated with non-compliance included maternal perception (adjusted OR: 7.01, 95% CI: 3.62–13.57), quality of life (adjusted OR: 6.19, 95% CI: 2.98–12.88), husband's support (adjusted OR: 2.16, 95% CI: 1.11–4.18), and health worker support (adjusted OR: 3.68, 95% CI: 1.91–7.08). Conclusion:It is crucial for pregnant women to increase their awareness of the importance of HBsAg screening, supported by their husbands, with additional counseling on the negative impacts of hepatitis B during pregnancy. Cultural perceptions should be addressed to foster more positive attitudes. Enhanced collaboration between health service providers, traditional or community leaders, and the public is necessary to improve overall public health outcomes. Improving possible serious bacterial infection (PSBI) management in young infants when referral is not feasible: lessons from embedded implementation research in Ethiopia and Kenya

BackgroundSepsis is a leading cause of neonatal mortality, despite the availability of effective treatment of possible serious bacterial illness (PSBI), including when referral to a hospital is not feasible. Gaps in access and delivery worsened during COVID-19. We conducted embedded implementation research in Ethiopia and Kenya aimed at mitigating the impact of COVID-19 and addressing various implementation challenges to improve PSBI management.MethodsThe implementation research projects were implemented at the subnational level in Ethiopia and Kenya between November 2020-June 2022 (Ethiopia) and December 2020-August 2022 (Kenya). Guided by the implementation research frameworks, both projects conducted mixed formative quantitative and exploratory research from April to May 2021, followed by summative evaluations conducted between June and July 2022. Frameworks encompassed Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR), Reach, Effectiveness, Adoption, Implementation, and Maintenance (RE-AIM), as well as health systems framework that incorporates cascades of care and World Health Organization Health Systems Building Blocks. Results were synthesized across the projects through document review and sharing cross-project measures and strategies through a project community of practice.ResultsDespite differences in settings across the projects, cross-cutting facilitators included community health worker program and support, and existence of guidelines for PSBI management at primary care levels. Barriers included community attitudes towards seeking care for sick newborns, COVID-19 risks and fear, and lack of health care worker competence. Country-specific contextual barriers included supply chain issues, civil conflict (Ethiopia), and labor strikes (Kenya). Strategies chosen to mitigate barriers and support implementation and sustainability in both settings included leveraging community health workers to address resistance to care-seeking, health workers’ training, COVID-19 infection prevention measures, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy to integrate PSBI management into existing programs, policies, and training. Other strategies addressing emerging project-specific barriers, included improving follow-up through a community health desk and PSBI mobile app (Kenya) and supply chain strengthening (Ethiopia). Both projects improved PSBI management coverage, increased adoption and uptake, and informed national policy changes supporting potential for sustainability.ConclusionsPragmatic embedded implementation research effectively supports the identification of barriers and mapping to strategies designed to increase effective coverage of PSBI management when referral is not feasible during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite differences in context, cross-cutting strategies identified could inform broader scale-up in the region, including during future health system shocks.

Relationship Between Health Worker Support and Youth Activity Integrated Youth Service Posts in Purwosari, Surakarta

However, adolescent participation in posyandu activities is often low. The support of health workers is considered an important factor that can influence the level of activeness of adolescents in these activities. This study aims to determine the relationship between health worker support and adolescents' activeness in Youth Posyandu in Purwosari Village, Surakarta. This study used a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study were 818 adolescents aged 15-19 years in Purwosari Village, Laweyan District, Surakarta City. The sample of this study was 80 adolescents using snowball sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires. Data analysis was performed using the chi-square statistical test to see the relationship between variables. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between health worker support and teenagers' activeness at the Youth Integrated Service Post in Purwosari, Surakarta (p-value=0.023). The highest value was when leaders and health workers visited adolescents, and adolescents, and the lowest value was when leaders and health workers only persuaded adolescents to participate in the programs of the Youth Integrated Service Post. Most adolescents have a regular intention to join the Integrated Youth Service Post programs. Language Validation and Cultural Adaptation of the Italian Version of the Family Caregiver Quality of Life Scale.

Heart failure significantly impacts healthcare systems and society, affecting quality of life (QoL) due to its symptoms and continuous care needs. Nurses are crucial in managing heart failure, supporting both patients and caregivers who face physical, emotional, social, and spiritual challenges. The Family Caregiver Quality of Life (FAMQOL) scale evaluates caregivers' QoL across all dimensions. This study aims to translate and culturally adapt the FAMQOL from English to Italian, enhancing its utility in nursing research and practice to better identify and support caregiver well-being. Following EORTC guidelines (2017), the FAMQOL underwent linguistic validation and cultural adaptation. This included independent forward translations from English to Italian, back translations, and reconciliation discussions to produce a testable translation. A pilot test with 15 caregivers assessed the questionnaire's acceptability and comprehensibility. Linguistic adjustments ensured the questionnaire's understandability in Italian. Interviews confirmed its acceptability and comprehensibility, with minor modifications enhancing clarity. The translation process successfully adapted the FAMQOL for Italian caregivers. This tool is essential for nursing research and practice, providing a culturally relevant assessment of the burden of care. It allows targeted interventions to support health workers, intercepting the QoL of caregivers early and, consequently, the well-being of patients with heart failure.

Primary healthcare providers' knowledge, practices and beliefs relating to preventive sexual and reproductive health care for women from refugee and asylum-seeking backgrounds in Australia: a national cross-sectional survey.

Background Many refugee women and women seeking asylum arrive in high-income countries with unmet preventive sexual and reproductive health (SRH) care needs. Primary healthcare providers (HCPs) are usually refugee and asylum seekers' first point of care. This study aimed to identify HCP characteristics associated with initiating conversations and discussing SRH opportunistically during other health interactions. Methods An anonymous online survey was distributed nationally to representatives of health professional organisations and Primary Health Networks. Hierarchical logistic regression analysed factors including HCP demographics, knowledge and awareness, perceived need for training and professional experience with refugee women were included in the models. Results Among 163 HCPs, those initiating conversations ranged from 27.3% (contraceptive care) to 35.2% (cervical screening). Opportunistic discussions ranged from 26.9% (breast screening) to 40.3% (contraceptive care). Positively associated factors included offering care to refugee women or women seeking asylum at least once every 2months 7.64 (95% CI 2.41;24.22, P P P P P P Conclusions Direct professional experience, frequency of service provision, years of practice, and part time work positively influence HCPs' SRH care practices. Enhancing bilingual health worker programs, outreach, education, and support for SRH and cultural competency training are essential to improving the preventive SRH care of refugee women and women seeking asylum.

Household Latrine Utilization Behavioral Model as an Effort to Improve Open Defecation-Free Program

Background: Healthy latrine-using behavior indicates healthy behavior. However, many people still practice open defecation, which can cause illness and increase death risk. Self-efficacy is a dominant predictor of health behavior change. Aims: The study aims to develop a household latrine utilization behavior model based on self-efficacy to improve an open defecation-free (ODF) program. Method: The study was a descriptive-analytic with a cross-sectional design. The sample size was 138 respondents with cluster random sampling. The study variables were endogenous (household latrine utilization), exogenous (predisposing, enabling, and reinforcing factors), and intervening variables (self-efficacy). Data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed using SEM-PLS. Result: The household latrine utilization behavior-based self-efficacy model is fit (SRMR=0.098; NFI= 0.910; Q2=0.334). Valid and reliable indicators were education (predisposing), clean water availability and latrine maintenance (enabling), and health worker and family support (reinforcing). Path analysis showed exogenous factors, directly and indirectly, influence latrine utilization behavior through self-efficacy. Predisposing and reinforcing factors had a direct and significant effect (p = 0.025; p = 0.001) while enabling factors were insignificant (p = 0.438). Enabling and reinforcing factors indirectly and significantly affected latrine utilization behavior through self-efficacy (p = 0.033; p = 0.004), while predisposing factors were insignificant (p = 0.141). Self-efficacy significantly influenced latrine-using behavior (p = 0.023). Conclusion: The household latrine utilization behavior-based self-efficacy model is a fit model with good predictive relevance in predicting household latrine use behavior. Health workers can use the model to enhance household latrine utilization behavior and improve the ODF program and public health status.

Psychosocial factors affecting the adherence of chronic kidney disease patients to undergo a hemodialysis program: a cross-sectional study

Introduction: This study aims to analyze the effect of psychosocial factors on hemodialysis program adherence. Methods: The study was cross-sectional, with a sample size of 90 respondents, obtained through simple random sampling. The study’s dependent variable was hemodialysis program adherence and the independent variables were knowledge, motivation, coping, depression, perceived family support and health worker support. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression. Results: Most respondents adhered to the hemodialysis program (90%). The level of knowledge, motivation, coping, family support, and health worker support was in the good category (93.3%; 100%; 91.1%; 90%; 88.9%, respectively), and did not experience depression (90%). The independent variables (knowledge, motivation, coping, family support, health worker support) simultaneously significantly affected the dependent variable, namely adherence to the hemodialysis program by 94.5% (R2 = 0.945; F = 236.613; p = 0.001). Partially, the factors of knowledge, motivation, coping, family support, health workers support, and depression also had a significant effect on hemodialysis program adherence (t = 2.234, t = 5.344, t = 3.473, t = -4.190, t = 6.457, t = 4.887, t = 4.190, respectively; p = 0.001). Conclusions: The study results showed that psychosocial factors (knowledge, motivation, coping, family support, health worker support, and depression) simultaneously or partially influenced the adherence of CKD patients to undergo a hemodialysis program, with the most dominant factor affecting adherence to hemodialysis as perceived family support. Analysis of Factors That Influence Adherence to Taking Medication in Elderly People with Hypertension in the Working Area of Pakpak Bharat District

Hypertension is still a health problem that must be followed up, World Health Organization (WHO) data in 2022 estimates that currently the global prevalence of hypertension is 22% of the total world population. Meanwhile, the hypertension report at the Salak Health Center in 2021 was 275 cases, in 2022 there were 324 cases, in 2023 there were 397 cases. Objective research to analyze the factors that influence adherence to taking medication in elderly people with hypertension in the Working Area of ??the Salak Health Center, Salak District, Pakpak Bharat Regency. The research design used Analytical Survey method with Cross Sectional approach. The population in this study were all patients The population in this study were all elderly hypertensive patients in the Salak Health Center Working Area, namely 73 patients who were all made into research samples with total population techniques. Data analysis used univariate analysis, bivariate with chi-square test and multivariate with logistic regression. The results of logistic regression research show that there is an influence of knowledge p = 0.014, motivation p = 0.006, family support p = 0.004 and health worker support p = 0.031. While the dominant factor influencing compliance with taking medication in elderly people with hypertension is family support p = 0.004 with Exp (B) 90.993. The conclusion of this study is that there is an influence of knowledge, motivation, family support, health worker support and those that do not affect the length of suffering from hypertension and affordability of access to health services. The dominant factor, namely family support, influences compliance with taking medication in elderly people with hypertension in the Salak Health Center Working Area, Salak District, Pakpak Bharat Regency. It is suggested that the Salak Health Center is expected to be taken into consideration and input for the health center to be active in field counseling activities and use social media as a promotional medium, conduct home visits to patients' homes in an effort to monitor compliance with taking medication in order to increase the acceleration of healing of hypertension in the elderly, so as to improve health status in the elderly.

“It's normal to be afraid”: attacks on healthcare in Ouaka, Haute-Kotto, and Vakaga prefectures of the Central African Republic, 2016–2020

IntroductionAttacks on healthcare have further weakened the already fragile health system in the Central African Republic. We investigated attacks on healthcare in three conflict-affected prefectures—Ouaka, Haute-Kotto, and Vakaga—from 2016 to 2020. The study aim was to gain an in-depth understanding of the immediate and long-term effects of attacks on healthcare workers, facilities, supply chain, quality of care, and other components of the health system. We provide a qualitative description of the incidents, assess their impacts, identify mitigation efforts, and discuss challenges to recovery.MethodsWe used purposive and snowball sampling to identify participants in the study. Semi-structured key informant interviews were conducted with administrative and health authorities, front-line personnel, and staff of non-governmental organizations. Interviews were done in Sango, French, or English. Recorded interviews were transcribed and notes taken for non-recorded interviews. Transcripts and notes were analyzed using inductive coding, allowing participant responses to guide findings.ResultsOf 126 attacks identified over the study period, 36 key informants discussed 39 attacks. Attacks included killings, physical and sexual assault, abductions, arson, shelling with grenades, pillage, occupations, and verbal threats. The violence led to extended closures and debilitating shortages in healthcare services, disproportionately affecting vulnerable populations, such as children under five, or people who are elderly, chronically ill, or displaced. Healthcare workers faced psychological trauma and moral injury from repeated attacks and the inability to provide adequate care. Personnel and communities made enormous efforts to mitigate impacts, and advocate for assistance. They were limited by failed reporting mechanisms, ongoing insecurity, persistent lack of resources and external support.ConclusionEffective strategies to safeguard healthcare from violence exist but better support for communities and health workers is essential, including measures to assess needs, enhance security, and facilitate recovery by quickly rebuilding, resupplying, and re-staffing facilities. CAR’s government, international organizations, and donors should make concerted efforts to improve reporting mechanisms and end impunity for perpetrators. Their investment in community organizations and long-term health system support, especially for health worker training, salaries, and psychosocial care, are vital steps towards building resilience against and mitigating the impacts of attacks on healthcare.

Implementation of Community Health Worker Support for Tobacco Cessation: A Mixed-Methods Study.

Adults with serious mental illness have high rates of tobacco use disorder and underuse pharmacotherapy for tobacco cessation. In a previous randomized controlled trial, participants receiving community health worker (CHW) support and education for their primary care providers (PCPs) had higher tobacco abstinence rates at 2 years, partly because of increased initiation of tobacco-cessation pharmacotherapy. The authors aimed to determine the association between CHW-participant engagement and tobacco abstinence outcomes. The authors conducted a secondary, mixed-methods analysis of 196 participants in the trial's intervention arm. Effects of the number and duration of CHW visits, number of smoking-cessation group sessions attended, and number of CHW-attended PCP visits on initiation of tobacco-cessation pharmacotherapy and tobacco abstinence were modeled via logistic regression. Interviews with 12 CHWs, 17 patient participants, and 17 PCPs were analyzed thematically. Year 2 tobacco abstinence was significantly associated with CHW visit number (OR=1.85, 95% CI=1.29-2.66), visit duration (OR=1.51, 95% CI=1.00-2.28), and number of group sessions attended (OR=1.85, 95% CI=1.33-2.58); effects on pharmacotherapy initiation were similar. One to three CHW visits per month across 2 years were optimal for achieving abstinence. Interviews identified CHW-patient engagement facilitators (i.e., trust, goal accountability, skills reinforcement, assistance in overcoming barriers to treatment access, and adherence). Training and supervision facilitated CHW effectiveness; barriers included PCPs' and care teams' limited understanding of the CHW role. Greater CHW-participant engagement, within feasible dose ranges, was associated with tobacco abstinence among adults with serious mental illness. Implementation of CHW interventions may benefit from further CHW training and integration within clinical teams.

Readiness and Service Model Exploration for Chronic Kidney Disease Telemonitoring at Public Hospital in Bengkulu, Indonesia

Public hospitals in Bengkulu lack health workers in hemodialysis units, making services not optimal, and the quality of life of chronic kidney disease patients is not controlled. Thus, telemonitoring should be an alternative to a remote health service. This study aimed to determine readiness and explore the telemonitoring service model needed in public hospitals in Bengkulu. This qualitative research used group discussion forums and in-depth interviews with 24 informants, consisting of management and health workers in the hemodialysis unit, recruited by purposive sampling. Audio recordings, verbatim transcripts, and thematic analyses were carried out. Public hospitals in Bengkulu are ready to carry out telemonitoring services regarding potential reasons, expectations from health workers, and benefits to implement as alternative solutions to improve service quality—inhibiting factors such as support tools, patients, health workers, organization, and low understanding of telemonitoring. Supporting factors are the adequacy of basic infrastructure facilities, the allocation of funds, and the required service models such as materials, supporting devices, and service settings. In conclusion, a public hospital in Bengkulu meets the readiness indicators of telemonitoring services for chronic kidney disease patients from a health worker’s perspective. Potential supporting factors need to be improved, inhibiting factors need to be anticipated, and the required service model needs to be described.

Hubungan Tingkat Pengetahuan, Sikap dan Dukungan Tenaga Kesehatan pada Calon Pengantin (Catin) Tentang Penyakit Sifilis di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Kotabaru Kecamatan Keritang Kabupaten Inhil Riau Tahun 2023

Syfillis cases in Southeast Asia in 2015 amounted to 3 million. The areas that have the highest rates of syphilis transmission are Sub-Saharan Africa, the United States and Southeast Asia. Studies conducted in Africa show that there are 30% positive antenatal syphilis cases and 50% result in infant death in congenital syphilis. This research is a type of quantitative research with an analytical observational research design with a cross sectional study approach. The population in this study were all prospective brides and grooms in Keritang District, the working area of the Kotabaru Community Health Center in 2023, as of January, as many as 36 people who had bridal injections (catin) at the Community Health Center. The sampling technique used in the research was accidental sampling. Data was collected using a questionnaire and data processing using the SPSS program. Data analysis in this study was univariate and bivariate analysis using the chi-square test formula with a confidence level of 95% (0.05). The results of the study revealed that the level of knowledge of the prospective bride and groom (catin), the attitude of the prospective bride and groom (catin) and the support of health workers had a value of each variable less than 0.05 or a significance value of p<0.05, which indicated that there was a significant relationship of these three variables in prospective brides (catin) regarding syphilis in the working area of the Kotabaru health center, Keritang District, Inhil Regency, Riau in 2023.

Gender income differences among general practitioners with compulsory services in early career stage in underdeveloped areas: evidence from a prospective cohort study in China

BackgroundGender equality and the gender income gap in medicine are long-standing global problems. Although gender-related differences have been widely studied in developed countries, they remain unclear in underdeveloped regions. In 2010, China initiated a national compulsory service program (CSP) to train qualified general practitioners in rural and remote areas. This study aimed to evaluate gender income differences for early career CSP and non-CSP (NCSP) graduates in underdeveloped areas.MethodsA cohort study was conducted with 3620 CSP and NCSP graduates from four medical universities in Central and Western China. Baseline surveys and six follow-up surveys were conducted between 2015 and 2022. Incomes, including monthly mean income and proportion of performance-based income, were measured as the key outcome variables. Multivariate linear regression models were used to identify the gender income gap.ResultsNCSP graduates had higher average monthly incomes than CSP graduates. In the seventh year after graduation, the average monthly income for NCSP graduates was 7859 CNY while was 5379 CNY for CSP graduates. After controlling for demographic characteristics, the gender monthly income gap for CSP graduates was expanded from the fourth year (3.0%) to the sixth year (5.9%) after graduation, and that for NCSP graduates was expanded from the fifth year (11.9%) to the seventh year (16.3%) after graduation. Regarding performance-based income, it was 58.9% for NCSP graduates and 45.8% for CSP graduates in the seventh year after graduation. After controlling for performance-based income proportion, the gender income gap was reduced from 5.9 to 4.0% in the sixth year after graduation for CSP graduates, and from 16.3 to 14.4% for NCSP graduates in the seventh year after graduation.ConclusionAn extensive and ever-increasing gender income gap exists among young doctors in the early stages of their careers in underdeveloped areas of China. The high proportion of performance-based income among men is one of the main explanations for the observed difference. A more explicit compensation system must be established to enhance support for female health workers.

Working conditions and common mental disorders in nurses facing Covid-19

Introduction: The Coronavirus disease pandemic represents the biggest public health emergency faced globally in decades, with repercussions on the mental health of nursing professionals. Aims: This study analyzed working conditions and their impact on the mental health of nurses facing COVID-19. Methods: A total of 192 nurses answered an electronic questionnaire. Screening for Common Mental Disorders (CMD) was performed using the Self-Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ-20), and associations between the dependent and independent variables were tested. Results: The prevalence of suspected CMD was 53.1%, and this outcome was associated with female gender (p<0.005), insufficient personal protective equipment in quantity and quality (p<0.006), insufficient biosafety standards (p<0.045), being at risk of transmitting COVID-19 (p<0.001), and having a family member with COVID-19 symptoms (p<0.029). Discussion and Conclusions: The study demonstrates the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on nurses' mental health and reinforces the need for psychological support for health workers.

Factors Associated with Women's Awareness of Early Detection of Cervical Cancer

Background: About 70% of women with cervical cancer present to health services at an advanced stage, making it difficult to treat and leading to high rates of female cancer mortality. Women's awareness of early detection of cervical cancer remains a problem. Objective: To determine the factors associated with women's awareness of early detection of cervical cancer. Methods: This type of research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. The population in the study were all mothers in Padang City. The sample in this study amounted to 320 with simple random sampling technique. The analysis method used was univariate analysis to see the frequency distribution, bivariate analysis was performed to evaluate the relationship using the chi-square test with a confidence level of 95% (α = 0.05), and multivariate logistic regression analysis to identify independent variables that had the most significant effect on the dependent variable. Data were analyzed using a computer. Results: The study showed that cadre support, health worker support and motivation were factors associated with women's awareness of early detection of cervical cancer. Health worker support was the factor most associated with early detection of cervical cancer. Conclusion: Health worker support is the most important factor in sensitizing women to do cervical cancer early detection.

Factors Influencing Early Detection of Breast Cancer Through Clinical Breast Examination (SADANIS) at the North City Health Center, Gorontalo City

Early detection/screening is a secondary prevention effort that is considered the most rational to reduce the death rate due to breast cancer. Clinically early detection of breast cancer is carried out in the target group of women of childbearing age, but the priority for the early detection program in Indonesia is women aged 30-50 years. The research aims to analyze factors influencing early detection of breast cancer through clinical breast examination (SADANIS) at the North City Health Center, Gorontalo City. Analytical survey research method with a cross-sectional study design. The population is women aged 30-50 years who visited the KIA-KB services at the North City Health Center in February 2024, amounting to 136 visitors. Sampling used the Slovin formula, so the total sample was 101 people. Analysis was carried out using the chi-square test and multiple logistic regression test. Based on a multivariate test using a multiple logistic regression test on variables that influence early detection of breast cancer with SADANIS, namely family/husband support, health worker support, and exposure to information, the results obtained are that the family/husband support variable has a significant value of 0.027 <0.05 with a value of Exp(B) = 12.522 which means that family/husband support has a 12.52 times higher risk of influencing early detection of breast cancer. The conclusion of this study is The variable family/husband support is the variable that has the most influence on the early detection of breast cancer with SADANIS

The Associated Factors with Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Among Breastfeeding Women in Kalimantan Utara

Exclusive breastfeeding is important for the quality of children's health. Nevertheless, the proportion of exclusive breastfeeding at the Malinau City Health Center stands at a mere 45.6 percent, falling short of the 50 percent benchmark set by the World Health Organization (WHO). nursing self-efficacy is a significant element that affects nursing behavior. This study aims to determine the factors related to breastfeeding self-efficacy. This study was cross-sectional, with a sample of 147 mothers obtained by purposive sampling. Breastfeeding Self Efficacy (BSE) is measured using the Breastfeeding Self Efficacy Short-Form. Data was analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between breastfeeding problems (p-value equals 0.001), family support (p-value equals 0.001), and health worker support (p-value equals 0.001) with breastfeeding self-efficacy. It is concluded that breastfeeding problems, family support, and health worker support were factors related to breastfeeding self-efficacy in breastfeeding mothers. Therefore, health workers and families are expected to support mothers when they have breastfeeding problems

Twitter Analysis of Health Care Workers' Sentiment and Discourse Regarding Post-COVID-19 Condition in Children and Young People: Mixed Methods Study.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant global impact, with millions of cases and deaths. Research highlights the persistence of symptoms over time (post-COVID-19 condition), a situation of particular concern in children and young people with symptoms. Social media such as Twitter (subsequently rebranded as X) could provide valuable information on the impact of the post-COVID-19 condition on this demographic. With a social media analysis of the discourse surrounding the prevalence of post-COVID-19 condition in children and young people, we aimed to explore the perceptions of health care workers (HCWs) concerning post-COVID-19 condition in children and young people in the United Kingdom between January 2021 and January 2022. This will allow us to contribute to the emerging knowledge on post-COVID-19 condition and identify critical areas and future directions for researchers and policy makers. From a pragmatic paradigm, we used a mixed methods approach. Through discourse, keyword, sentiment, and image analyses, using Pulsar and InfraNodus, we analyzed the discourse about the experience of post-COVID-19 condition in children and young people in the United Kingdom shared on Twitter between January 1, 2021, and January 31, 2022, from a sample of HCWs with Twitter accounts whose biography identifies them as HCWs. We obtained 300,000 tweets, out of which (after filtering for relevant tweets) we performed an in-depth qualitative sample analysis of 2588 tweets. The HCWs were responsive to announcements issued by the authorities regarding the management of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom. The most frequent sentiment expressed was negative. The main themes were uncertainty about the future, policies and regulations, managing and addressing the COVID-19 pandemic and post-COVID-19 condition in children and young people, vaccination, using Twitter to share scientific literature and management strategies, and clinical and personal experiences. The perceptions described on Twitter by HCWs concerning the presence of the post-COVID-19 condition in children and young people appear to be a relevant and timely issue and responsive to the declarations and guidelines issued by health authorities over time. We recommend further support and training strategies for health workers and school staff regarding the manifestations and treatment of children and young people with post-COVID-19 condition.
