Research on High-quality Development of Premade Food Industry from the Perspective of Supply Chain Management -- Take Freshippo as an Example

In recent years, with the acceleration of people's pace of life, the concept of premade food continues to be hot, the premade food industry has developed rapidly as well as the market scale has expanded. Supply chain is a crucial link in premade food industry chain. The proper supply chain management is of great significance to the high-quality development of the precooked dish industry. At present, there are still a series of challenges and deficiencies in the supply chain management of the prepared dish industry. Perfect food safety supervision system, sinking cold chain logistics network and intelligent supply chain management have become the focus of sustainable development of this field. This paper selects Freshippo as the research object, studying the challenges and development opportunities faced by the current premade food industry in the supply chain management through the case analysis method, and then proposes corresponding supply chain management optimization countermeasures to solve these problems, aiming to help the healthy and vigorous development of the premade food industry.

Optimization of Waste Power Battery Recycling Process from the Perspective of Supply Chain

With the rapid popularization of electric vehicles, the recycling of used power batteries has become an increasingly prominent issue. Recycling of used power batteries not only involves environmental protection, but also relates to the efficient utilization of resources. The current recycling system faces problems such as low recycling efficiency, high cost and resource waste. From the perspective of supply chain management, this paper analyzes the current situation and problems in the recycling process of used power batteries, and puts forward a series of optimization strategies, including recycling network optimization, logistics management improvement and inventory control strategies. This paper aims to provide theoretical support and practical guidance for the optimization of waste power battery recycling supply chain, and promote the sustainable development of recycling industry.

The impact of China certified emission reduction market resumption on manufacturers' stock market valuations: The role of OSCM factors

The research investigates how the resumption of the China certified emission reduction (CCER) market affects Chinese manufacturers' stock market valuations from an operations and supply chain management (OSCM) perspective. The paper draws from a resource-based view to examine the moderating effects of supply chain concentration (SCC), operational slack, and operational efficiency (OE) on the relationship between the CCER market and manufacturers’ stock market valuations. This paper employs the event study method to examine market responses to CCER. The results reveal that the resumption of the CCER market significantly enhances the market valuations of high-pollution manufacturers to a greater extent than those of manufacturers with lower pollution levels. Additionally, the research findings indicate that SCC and operational slack attenuate the positive effect of CCER market resumption while OE amplifies it. This paper contributes to the OSCM literature by urging businesses to focus on the roles of SCC, operational slack, and OE in the CCER framework to harness the advantages of the CCER system better.

Inventory Management and Strategy Optimization from The Perspective of Green Supply Chain Management

With the increasing severity of global environmental problems, the business community has begun to seek more sustainable business models. Green Supply chain Management (GSCM), as an important strategy to achieve this goal, emphasizes the integration of environmental protection and resource conservation concepts throughout the supply chain. This paper analyzes the impact of traditional inventory management on the environment, discusses the new model of inventory management under the perspective of GSCM, and puts forward the corresponding optimization strategy. This paper finds that green inventory management not only helps to reduce resource consumption and pollution emissions, but also improves the competitiveness and social image of enterprises. Therefore, the promotion of green inventory management is an important way to achieve sustainable development of enterprises and environmental protection.

Towards a cleaner and sustainable Europe and Central Asia: An investigation of the logistics‐environment nexus

AbstractThe logistics industry is the backbone of global trade and is crucial for the attainment of economic progress across the world. However, the industry involves activities that increase the consumption of energy resources including fossil fuels, which harms the environment. Thus, with a special focus on Europe and Central Asia, this study explores the logistics‐environment by evaluating the impact of logistics performance (LP) on environmental performance (EP) while controlling for key macroeconomic indicators such as income, trade openness, foreign direct investment, and industrialization. The motivation for this study is derived from the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs‐11 and 13) which highlight sustainability and climate change mitigation. Using Poisson pseudo maximum likelihood with high‐dimensional fixed effects (PPMLHDFE) for 47 European and Central Asian countries over the period 2007–2018, the findings revealed that the overall logistic performance, and some of its components—customs, trade, and transport infrastructure, and tracing and tracking have a significant positive impact on the overall EP, environmental health, and ecosystem vitality. Additionally, the study confirms the detrimental effects of economic growth, trade, and industrialization on environmental quality and health from logistics and supply chain management (SCM) perspectives. Further policy caveats and suggestions are elucidated in the concluding section.

Industry 4.0 in the Perspective of Supply Chain Management: Evolution and Future Research Agenda

With the rise of Industry 4.0 (I4.0), there has been a shift from traditional to digital ways of running businesses by bringing the real and virtual worlds together. This study examines I4.0 literature in Supply chain management (SCM) over the last five years, finds essential research areas and gaps, and suggests a roadmap of new possibilities and opportunities for further research. First, a performance analysis was undertaken in which the most relevant or productive authors, leading journals, and top countries were examined. Second, a science mapping analysis involving citation, co-citation, and keyword analysis was conducted. Third, a thematic analysis was performed in which numerous themes were discussed in the direction of I4.0 in SCM. The authors examined 260 research publications published during the last five years. The authors used the R package bibliometrix, biblioshiny application, and the Vosviewer to visualize the structure of over 19,000 different references. Finally, the paper suggests a framework for implementing I4.0 in the supply chain (SC). The outcome of this study will help academic scholars, industry practitioners and engineering managers to identify significant themes and areas and implement I4.0 standards in SCM.

Exploring robotic devices and self-governing mechanisms in food and beverage management: A comprehensive review

Resource use and food security are the major worldwide problems due to an expanding global population. This article explores how robotics and autonomous systems (RAS) might improve supply chain operations. RAS has been used to increase productivity. The adoption and integration of RAS into the food business have been investigated by researchers. All recent research, has concentrated on the technical implications of RAS. The primary focus of this work is on the use of RAS from a supply chain management perspective in the food business. Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) method was selected for this study. The outcome of this phase was 74 papers for full-text examination. The process produced a final list of 20 publications for data synthesis and analysis. The application of RAS in connection to five crucial aspects of the food supply chain, food waste, supply chain efficiency, food safety, food quality and supply chain analysis was examined in this study. RAS application in food supply chains is examined in relation to the significance of skill competency, cyber security, data accessibility and financial issues.

Digital Intelligence Enables Silicon Carbide Supply Chain Upgrade

From the perspective of supply chain management, the silicon carbide supply chain currently exists in the technical force is low, the development situation is poor, as well as the traditional silicon-based devices still occupy the relevant areas of the market, silicon carbide in addition to the urgent need for breakthroughs in the field of technology, due to the adjustment and transformation of the industrial structure as well as the upstream production capacity expansion makes the silicon carbide industry is also faced with the lack of supply chain management capabilities and the backwardness of the management structure. This is also the core element that this paper will focus on. The research theme of this paper is how to complete the transformation and upgrading of the silicon carbide supply chain through the role of digital intelligence, to effectively increase the production capacity of silicon carbide and change the current production dilemma. To this end, this paper focuses on the feasibility of solving the existing problems of the silicon carbide supply chain by upgrading the supply chain empowered by Digital Intelligence. The results of this paper are based on the successful reform experience of the steel industry, through management restructuring, supply chain expansion, industry chain extension, improving industrial technology, manufacturing to service transformation, and the combination of digital intelligence technology for industrial restructuring, to increase the production capacity of the silicon carbide industry.

Paying Living Wages in Supply Chains: The Effects of Uncertainties, Coordination, and Competition

The living wage (LW) movement is part of the fight against forced labor: It aims to ensure that workers receive an income that can cover their daily subsistence needs. Our study expands the current understanding of LW pay by shifting from the traditional labor-capital view to an operations and supply chain management perspective. We use a game theoretical approach to explore the different responses of two competing supply chains to LW accreditation. We find that a moderate LW standard allows for Pareto optimality where key stakeholders (i.e., manufacturers, retailers, consumers, and workers) have a collective interest in promoting the LW movement. From a multistakeholder lens, the LW movement is only sustainable if the LW standard is neither too aggressive nor too conservative. We further demonstrate the following points. (1) Not all types of uncertainties are harmful to supply chains with LW pay. Yield uncertainty slows down the progress of the LW movement, whereas demand uncertainty encourages the voluntary adoption of LW pay among all stakeholders. (2) Supply chain coordination may slow the adoption of voluntary LW pay, which implies that the classic coordination paradigm is not a panacea in alleviating the plight of underpaid workers. (3) From the perspective of competition intensity, greater monopsony power hinders the progress of the LW movement, and we provide evidence for the positive effects of a competitive environment on incentivizing voluntary LW pay.

Determinants of the transition towards circular economy in SMEs: a sustainable supply chain management perspective.

Small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) increasingly know the benefits of improving resource efficiency and closing loops. These benefits include lowering material costs, establishing competitive advantages, and gaining access to new markets. As a consequence of implementing new regulations, manufacturing companies, particularly those in the automobile industry, are compelled to modify and change their business practices related to the circular economy (CE). More stringent the implementation of environmentally responsible policies and strengthening environmental regulations. CE is the most important factor in improving environmental conditions since it reduces waste and boosts output. This facet calls for the attention of fresh academics and policymakers with years of relevant expertise. Recent studies have investigated how green logistics management might improve a company's overall performance in terms of environmental responsibility. However, we believe that the connection between environmentally responsible companies is not a direct one but rather one that is mediated by the practices of circular economies. We investigate the direct and indirect effects of the environmentally responsible impact of proper logistics management on organizations' overall environmental performance via the application of circular economy practices. Our theoretical underpinnings are the resource-based viewpoint and the resource dependence theory. This research also investigates whether or not the traceability of the supply chain has a mitigating influence on the connections. We evaluated the hypotheses using the PLS-SEM method, drawing on the empirical data provided by 245 Chinese factories considered modest or medium size. The results demonstrate that the management of green logistics has a constructive effect on circular economy practices and businesses' sustainability performance. In addition, although it greatly impacts circular economy practice among SMEs, supply chain traceability does not attenuate the connection between eco-friendly supply chain management and environmental impact. Green logistics management in SMEs is linked to improved sustainability performance via the circular economy practice. To further verify the efficacy of the mediation, we also ran the sober test. Our results strengthen knowledge of circular economy, environmentally friendly logistics management practices, and sustainability performance while advancing natural resource-based planning and the resource dependence theory, which are the two approaches. Given the scarcity of information research analyzing the interplay between these factors, our results are very significant.

The role of digital transformation in supply chain efficiency and economic output.

From the perspective of sustainable supply chain management (SSCM), this research looks at the key elements influencing how small- and medium-sized companies (SMEs) move toward a circular economy (CE). This research aims to understand the elements that influence SMEs to embrace CE principles and determine the real-world applications of SSCM practices. This research gathered and analyzed data from diverse European SMEs working inside CE networks using a mixed-method approach. We received answers from several of these firms using a survey form sent and emailed to them. The replies were then assessed using an independent t test to account for any biases. We used confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) for the validity assessment, compound consistency, and corrected-item-total association measures to validate the model's validity and reliability. According to our research, SMEs are influenced significantly by societal pressures, green economic incentives, and environmental dedication when deciding whether to adopt CE practices. Our study further emphasizes the importance of SSCM for SMEs' successful transition to a CE model, especially regarding resource and waste management efficiency. This work contributes to the corpus of research on the topic by providing empirical support for the function of SSCM in easing the transition towards CE in the setting of SMEs. The results might serve as a reference for managers and policymakers as they create plans to encourage SMEs to embrace CE practices and to emphasize the advantages of such a change on the economic, social, and environmental fronts. Putting a particular emphasis on the vital roles that public pressure, green financial incentives, and ecological dedication play, this research provides insights into the complex interactions between SSCM and CE transition in SMEs. Further study is needed to examine how these determinants could fluctuate across various industries and geographies.

Analysis on SHEIN's Overseas Success During COVID-19 from the Perspective of Supply Chain Management

During the epidemic, cross-border e-commerce became the world's main mode of trade, and it drove a large part of the economic flows during the epidemic. At the same time, however, the supply chain for cross-border e-commerce was very unstable due to the epidemic, with supplies and orders being hampered by the epidemic. The purpose of this paper is to use a case study on SHEIN to provide suggestions as it successfully stood out with cross-border e-commerce during the dilemma of Covid-19. The involved suggestions majorly focus on the optimization of information sharing management to respond quickly to demands and quality management to achieve zero detection in products. Innovative ideas on logistics service and product design are also emphasized in the suggestion part. Moreover, the specific case study of SHEIN can help other cross-border e-commerce companies to build a more complete supply chain and provide them with ideas to gain a foothold and value on the world trade platform.

Are consumers willing to co-create value when focal firms' suppliers are proactive in green innovation? A chain liability and green halo effect

PurposeBased on the chain liability and green halo effects, this study uses the perspective of multi-tier supply chain management to examine the impact mechanism and boundary conditions of suppliers' green innovation types on consumers' willingness to participate in value co-creation with focal firms from the perspective of multi-tier supply chain management.Design/methodology/approachUsing four situational experiments, 660 participants were recruited in Credamo, and SPSS 23.0 was used for data analysis. Experiments 1a and 1b verify the effect of suppliers' green innovation on consumers' willingness to participate in value co-creation with focal firms; experiment 2 examines the mediating effect of green sincerity perception; and experiment 3 explores the moderating effect of innovation proactiveness.FindingsThe results show that suppliers' green innovation efforts are more sincere when they are substantive (vs. symbolic), thereby generating higher value co-creation intentions. As a driving force, innovation proactiveness moderates the influence of suppliers' green innovation types on consumer's willingness to co-create value with focal firms.Originality/valueThis study enriches the literature on green supply chain management (GSCM) and consumers' willingness to co-create value. Furthermore, this study provides firms with practical guidance to improve marketing performance and green innovation practices through multilevel GSCM.

RETRACTED: Indigenous businesses in Australia: A supply chain management perspective

The article presents the current position of supply chain management (SCM) of indigenous businesses in Australia and the approaches to connect it to the broader business. A comprehensive literature review was carried out on SCM of indigenous business practices across four organisations identified in the Whanu Binal Entrepreneur Programme. A deductive approach was used in analysing the literature to express the business operations of four organisations in SCM concepts and theoretical perspectives. Indigenous businesses are managing their SCs without formally addressing the tools, techniques and systems, and are of small scale often less than AUD 5.0 million. The mainstream businesses with less than 5 million sales were found to have SC collaboration, and tools and systems used in the SCs. Indigenous businesses are strongly guided by its culture, supported by the Yarning in transferring knowledge across different generations of women supported by the Indigenous Standpoint Theory (IST). Customer concentration and digital transformation

Using a sample of Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share listed firms during 2009–2020, we examine how customer concentration would influence firms' digital transformation. In this study, we construct a proxy for digital transformation based on a text analysis approach. Our baseline results show that customer concentration hinders digital transformation at the firm level. Moreover, we design a series of tests including instrumental variables and 2SLS regression to mitigate the endogeneity concern. Still, we find results consistent with the baseline regression. The results hold after multiple robustness tests. Furthermore, this negative effect of customer concentration on digital transformation is more pronounced when firms are subject to 1) more market competition, 2) more financing constraints, 3) higher transaction costs, and 4) less efficient use of resources. Overall, our results demonstrate the role of customer concentration in inhibiting firms' digital transformation from the perspective of supply chain management.

Research on Management Efficiency of Hospital Low-value Consumables in Nursing Unit under Lean Management Mode

Aiming at the management efficiency problems in the traditional medical low-value consumables management mode of the nursing unit, based on the perspective of supply chain management, this study uses lean management method to construct the lean management mode of low-value consumables with a whole cycle and whole process information monitoring, and analyzes the application effect of this mode. The results show that after the application of lean management mode, the low-value consumables of the nursing unit can achieve "consumables in use=priced consumables + un-priced consumables", the settlement cost is significantly reduced and its stability is high, and the efficiency of "supply-inventor-distribution" link is significantly enhanced. This model effectively improves the management efficiency of low-value consumables in the hospital, and also provides a reference for other hospitals to improve the management level of low-value consumables.

Adapting the retail business model to omnichannel strategy: A supply chain management perspective

AbstractRetail firms have developed new product and service offerings to meet the changing needs of omnichannel customers. While, prior research has documented these offerings in detail, little is yet known about how retail firms can best adapt different aspects of their organizations to the new omnichannel environment. We specifically focus on the intra‐firm changes that affected the role of the firm's supply chain organization and its interactions with other business entities within the retail enterprise. This paper provides an in‐depth understanding of the new business processes, organizational structures, governance mechanisms and customer interactions; collectively described as the retail business model (BM). Drawing on the tenets of BM theory, we present findings from a qualitative study of 15 leading U.S. omnichannel retailers to identify key elements of the new retail BM, develop a conceptual framework of the BM innovation process, and highlight the pivotal role of the supply chain organization in helping firms adapt and implement the omnichannel strategy. We conclude by developing research propositions to articulate the connections among different elements of the BM innovation process and how firms can institutionalize this process to respond to the everchanging retail business environment.
