Excessive workload is one of the triggers for problems in terms of occupational health and safety. Many factors can cause excessive workload, both individual factors and external factors. The workload is divided into two, mental workload and physical workload. In actual practice, it is still common to find employees who experience excessive workload, whether it is experienced simultaneously or under certain conditions. The combination of the G20 Summit event and the year-end holiday season, made all task units at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport very busy. Therefore, analyzing a workload needs to be done as material for consideration and evaluation, which is helpful for later. Mental workload analysis in this study used the NASA-TLX method, with a descriptive quantitative research design. The results showed that of the 28 officers who were analyzed under normal conditions, 14 were in the high category, 12 were in the medium category, and 2 were in the low category, while under certain conditions, 5 were in the very high category, 22 were in the high category, and 1 was in the low category. The mental workload of officers under certain conditions increases significantly compared to normal conditions..

Endek to be an International Clothes of G20 Summit

Endek, as one of the Balinese woven cloths, has existed since the reign of King Dalem Waturenggong in Gelgel, Klungkung Regency. Since the 16th century, people in Bali have made their traditional cloth using hand-operated machine looms and other simple tools. The name Endek derives from gendekan or ngendek, which means silent or unchanged in color. Economic recovery efforts are a priority for the Province of Bali during the COVID-19 pandemic. Including increasing the value of Balinese cultural heritage, Endek woven fabrics. The government carries out massive promotions through various activities, exhibitions, to the promotion of Endek fabrics by international designer Christian Dior at Paris fashion week in 2020. In addition to having aesthetic value, Endek woven fabrics have high economic value for improving the welfare of weavers to SMEs. In the G20 Summit event in the province of Bali, the government proposed that state delegates attending the G20 Summit (KTT) wear clothes made from Endek or traditional Balinese woven fabrics. Inflation and Asymmetric Collapse at Kīlauea Summit During the 2018 Eruption From Seismic and Infrasound Analyses

AbstractCharacterizing the large M4.7+ seismic events during the 2018 Kīlauea eruption is important to understand the complex subsurface deformation at the Kīlauea summit. The first 12 events (May 17–May 26) are associated with long‐duration seismic signals and the remaining 50 events (May 29–August 2) are accompanied by large‐scale caldera collapses. Resolving the source location and mechanism is challenging because of the shallow source depth, significant nondouble‐couple components, and complex velocity structure. We demonstrate that combining multiple geophysical data from broadband seismometers, accelerometers, and infrasound is essential to resolve different aspects of the seismic source. Seismic moment tensor solutions using near‐field summit stations show the early events are inflationary. Infrasound data and particle motion analysis identify the source of inflation as the Halema'uma'u reservoir. For the later collapse events, two‐independent moment tensor inversions using local and global stations consistently show that asymmetric slips occur on inward‐dipping normal faults along the northwest corner of the caldera. While the source mechanism from May 29 onwards is not fully resolvable seismically using far‐field stations, infrasound records, and simulations suggest there may be inflation during the collapse. The summit events are characterized by both inflation and asymmetric slip, which are consistent with geodetic data. Based on the location of the slip and microseismicity, the caldera may have failed in a “see‐saw” manner: small continuous slips in the form of microseismicity on the southeast corner of the caldera, compensated by large slips on the northwest during the large collapse events.

Mostly 'men in suits': The ASEAN summit and integration as news in Southeast Asia

This article is a preliminary examination of how Southeast Asian media frame the regional integration of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) as a news topic. Without grassroots engagement, the ASEAN integration will inevitably fall short of its grand objectives, and crucial to building grassroots engagement is media coverage capable of building audience interest and appreciation. Based on articles published during the major ASEAN summit events in 2018, the authors identified resonant themes in the reportage and discussed these vis-a-vis the documented character of the different media environments in the region. It was found that the axis of the reportage is the declarations and actions of the heads of state, with very few human interest and context-building stories that would have built audience engagement in what is otherwise an affair revolving around ‘men in suits’. Moreover, the journalistic emphasis on consensus and state initiatives reflects continuing adherence to the tenets of the development journalism framework, but this can also be interpreted as the dominance of ‘prominence’ as a news value (i.e. stories are framed according to the gestures of prominent individuals). These findings call attention to the need for re-thinking reportage on potentially high-stake phenomena such as the ASEAN integration.

Educator Toolkits on Second Victim Syndrome, Mindfulness and Meditation, and Positive Psychology: The 2017 Resident Wellness Consensus Summit.

IntroductionBurnout, depression, and suicidality among residents of all specialties have become a critical focus of attention for the medical education community.MethodsAs part of the 2017 Resident Wellness Consensus Summit in Las Vegas, Nevada, resident participants from 31 programs collaborated in the Educator Toolkit workgroup. Over a seven-month period leading up to the summit, this workgroup convened virtually in the Wellness Think Tank, an online resident community, to perform a literature review and draft curricular plans on three core wellness topics. These topics were second victim syndrome, mindfulness and meditation, and positive psychology. At the live summit event, the workgroup expanded to include residents outside the Wellness Think Tank to obtain a broader consensus of the evidence-based toolkits for these three topics.ResultsThree educator toolkits were developed. The second victim syndrome toolkit has four modules, each with a pre-reading material and a leader (educator) guide. In the mindfulness and meditation toolkit, there are three modules with a leader guide in addition to a longitudinal, guided meditation plan. The positive psychology toolkit has two modules, each with a leader guide and a PowerPoint slide set. These toolkits provide educators the necessary resources, reading materials, and lesson plans to implement didactic sessions in their residency curriculum.ConclusionResidents from across the world collaborated and convened to reach a consensus on high-yield—and potentially high-impact—lesson plans that programs can use to promote and improve resident wellness. These lesson plans may stand alone or be incorporated into a larger wellness curriculum.

A Forty-Year Search for a Single-Negotiating Text: Rio+20 as a Post-Agreement Negotiation

AbstractThis article elaborates on the place of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, also known as Rio+20) in a forty-year trajectory of international sustainable development negotiations, particularly through the processes placed in motion during the 1992 Rio Earth Summit event. The negotiation of the final UNCSD document also can be evaluated in its own right, and the article examines this process in the second section, keeping in mind the negotiating system in which the talks took place. The final section focuses on the process as a post-agreement negotiation and considers the role of the twenty-year milestone negotiations in shaping the sustainable development regime. The article explores in particular the role that consensus negotiated agreements have played as the regime’s decision-making procedure, and how this procedure has faltered as the complexity – including the number of issues, actors and obligations incorporated into the regime – has increased. Two elements from the Rio+20 outcome – a “take-it-or-change-it” facilitation approach of the Brazilian hosts and the adoption of a process to create “sustainable development goals” as a different means to focus international expectations – are presented as new directions for decision making in the regime’s next rounds of regime governance and regime adjustment negotiations.

2001 flank eruption of the alkali- and volatile-rich primitive basalt responsible for Mount Etna's evolution in the last three decades

Since the early 1970s enhanced eruptive activity of Mount Etna has been accompanied by selective geochemical changes in erupted lavas, among which a gradual increase of alkalis whose origin is still debated. Here we provide further insight into the origin of this recent evolution, based on a detailed study of the chemistry and dissolved volatile content of melt inclusions trapped in olivine crystals of unusual plagioclase-poor primitive basalt that was extruded during a highly explosive flank eruption in July–August 2001. Two types of lava were erupted simultaneously along a N–S fracture system. Trachybasalts from the upper vents (2950–2700 m) were simply drained out by fracturing of the central volcanic conduit. They are identical to summit crater lavas and contain Mg-poor olivines (Fo70–72) with evolved and volatile-poor melt inclusions that represent late-stage crystallisation during shallow open conduit degassing. In contrast, plagioclase-poor basalt (80% of total) extruded through the lower vents (2550–2100 m) derived from lateral dyke intrusion of a more primitive and volatile-rich magma across the sedimentary basement. This primitive melt is best preserved in rare Fo82.4–80.5 skeletal olivines present in lapilli deposits from the most powerful activities at the 2550 m vent. Its high dissolved contents of H2O (3.4 wt.%), CO2 (0.11 to 0.41 wt.%), S (0.32 wt.%), Cl (0.16 wt.%) and F (0.094 wt.%) point to its closed system ascent from ∼400 to 250 MPa (∼12 to 6.5 km depth b.s.l.). However, the predominance of euhedral olivine phenocrysts with common reverse zoning (cores Fo76–78 and rims Fo78–80) and decrepited inclusions shows that most of the erupted basalt derived from a slightly more evolved, crystallizing body of the same magma that was invaded by the uprising primitive melt prior to erupting. The few preserved inclusions in these olivines indicate pre-eruptive storage of that magma body at about 5 km depth b.s.l., in coherence with seismic data.We propose that the 2001 flank eruption resulted from gradual overpressuring of Etna's shallow plumbing system due to the influx of volatile-rich primitive basalt that may have begun several months in advance. We find that this basalt is much richer in alkalis (2.0 wt.% K2O) and has higher S/Cl (2.0) but lower Cl/K and Cl/F ratios than all pre-1970s Etnean lavas (1.4 wt.% K2O, S/Cl=1.5), as further exemplified by melt inclusions in entrained olivine xenocrysts. Combining these new observations with previously published data, we argue that the 2001 basalt represents a new alkali-rich basic end-member feeding Mt. Etna, only few amount of which had previously been extruded during a 1974 peripheral eruption and, more recently, during brief paroxysmal summit events. Over the last three decades this new magma has progressively mixed with and replaced the former K-poorer trachybasalts filling the plumbing system, leading to extrusion of gradually more primitive and alkali-richer lavas. Its geochemical singularities cannot result from shallow crustal contaminations. Instead, they suggest the involvement of an alkali-richer but Cl-poorer arc-type component during recent magma genesis beneath Etna.

Relocation of seismicity preceding the 1984 eruption of Mauna Loa Volcano, Hawaii: Delineation of a possible failed rift

Waveform cross-correlation based repicking of P arrival times and subsequent relocation of 187 earthquakes that occurred near the summit of Mauna Loa, Hawaii, prior to the March 1984 eruption has illuminated a previously obscured structure beneath the northwestern flank. Simultaneous inversion for hypocenters and velocity model parameters using the refined arrival times resulted in well-constrained relative earthquake locations with very low arrival time misfits (average RMS 0.041 s). Pre-eruption seismicity from this time period occurred in two groups: a shallow group located near Mauna Loa’s summit, at depths of 1–3 km, and a deeper group (5–10 km) located 4–6 km northwest of the summit. After relocation, we found that most of the northwest flank earthquakes occurred along a 3-km-long planar feature striking about 60° West of North in a thin band about 1 km thick. There is a temporal migration of epicenters from the northwestern edge of the zone migrating towards the summit. Focal mechanisms in this zone reveal a change in faulting from strike-slip in the southeast to a mix of strike-slip and normal faulting in the northwest. This feature we interpret to be related to a rift zone that was stunted by the buttressing of the adjacent volcanoes Hualalai and Mauna Kea. Previous gravity and magnetic studies provide supporting evidence for the existence of a rift zone. There was only a modest increase in clustering of the summit events. After relocation, hypocenters that were previously located within a diffuse zone (4.5 km) were reduced to a 2.5-km-wide zone. They extend from a depth of 6 km to about sea level, trending toward the summit. The focal mechanisms from the summit events are mix of faulting types without a consistent pattern.

The Bishkek Mountain Platform: Outcome of the Bishkek Global Mountain Summit, 28 October 2002–1 November 2002

The Bishkek Global Mountain Summit, held 29 October to 1 November 2002 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, was the culminating global event of the International Year of Mountains. Organized by the government of Kyrgyzstan with support from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and other partners, the Summit was attended by more than 600 delegates from 60 countries. I was particularly pleased to attend the summit for 3 main reasons. Firstly, long before the Summit I gladly joined the BGMS Advisory Board, which met several times in preparation for the event. Secondly, I was invited by the Swiss Government to become a member of the Swiss delegation to the Summit. Thirdly, the involvement of the Centre for Development and Environment (CDE) in several programs in Central Asia since 2000 had already brought me to this fascinating region many times prior to the Summit. The Kyrgyz hosts made every effort to ensure that the Summit was a big success. The official opening, where much of Central Asia’s— and particularly Kyrgyzstan’s—spiritual and cultural heritage was evident in the audience, will remain unforgettable. Apart from presentations and statements by many highlevel representatives from all over the world in the plenary sessions, many parallel sessions were offered for participants—up to 16 at a time—which sometimes made it rather difficult to choose. My personal input at the Summit was facilitation of the results of the Pamir Strategy Project workshop in Khorog, together with representatives of the GBAO Government. Of course, this symposium was only one of numerous Summit events open to participants. The Summit produced a number of very concrete results. For example, the governments of Italy and Switzerland pledged support to enable the International Year of Mountains Coordination Unit at FAO to continue its work in 2003. The Swiss and Italian contributions will also allow FAO to help develop a secretariat to support the International Partnership for Sustainable Development in Mountains, which was launched at the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) in Johannesburg in September 2002. A key product of the Bishkek Global Mountain Summit was the Bishkek Mountain Platform. This statement is presented in full below. It builds on the many substantial declarations developed at other major global events on mountains. It was prepared by representatives of participating and attending institutions, and presented to the Summit by the Government of Kyrgyzstan, which has forwarded it to the United Nations General Assembly for consideration. The purpose of the Platform is to provide guidance to governments and others on how to improve the livelihoods of mountain people, protect mountain ecosystems, and use mountain resources more wisely. Most important, it provides a framework for action at the international, regional, national and local levels, which can be used in follow-up activities and to enforce initiatives launched during IYM2002.

Statistical identification of physical patterns which accompany eruptive activity on Mount Etna, Sicily

Abstract A new statistical nonparametric pattern recognition algorithm is used to identify the phenomenology which accompanies summit and flank eruptions on Mount Etna, Sicily. This algorithm allows us to solve some of the operational problems typical of logic-type pattern recognition algorithms. Volcanic activity is parametrized through 12 variables concerning seismicity, past eruptive history, and precipitation, which practically exhaust the presently available data. In the 40 days which precede and follow the onset of each eruption, we identified no pattern whatsoever for summit eruptions, and a single significant pattern for flank activity. This indicates different eruptive mechanisms for flank and summit events. The latter appear to be independent of all the phenomena considered, and should therefore be ascribed either to magma feeding processes, a variable which we were not able to consider in our analysis due to the lack of data, or to random behaviour, without any repetitive scheme. Flank activity appears to be linked to the state of regional tectonic stress, but is independent of past eruptive history and groundwater level. This means that eruptions of the size Etna recently experienced, do not perturb the system, which must have a much larger capacity, at least of the order of 10 9 m 3 .
