Accreditation-Based Assistant Leadership Model and Spiritual Values in Academic Service

This research is important because the servant leadership model is crucial in supporting accreditation and is infused with spiritual values to optimize academic services. This research applies the accreditation-based servant leadership model and spiritual values in academic services at the IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo Postgraduate program. This field research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and then analyzed through data reduction and presentation to conclude. The study concludes that the servant leadership model can only support accreditation by applying spiritual values, especially Islamic ones, in academic services. Every academic service requires a strong spirit, which cannot be separated from spiritual values derived from the truth of revelation. Integrated work activities, serving as a means of communication and sharing program information and academic issues supported by academic information systems, are recognized as encouraging timely studies and academic achievements of students and lecturers. However, this will not be complete without spiritual values such as patience, gratitude, sincerity, humility (tawadhu), information and communication technology as God's gifts, and prayer.

TANTANGAN PENGEMBANGAN E-LEARNING KAMPUS MERDEKA BELAJAR

With the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Curriculum in 2020, the opportunities for online learning, particularly through the utilization of e-learning, have significantly expanded. How prepared are universities to realize this MBKM initiative, and what challenges do they face? This research aims to construct the development of e-learning to accelerate the Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka (MB-KM) Program at IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo and UHAMKA Jakarta. This descriptive research employs a mixed-methods approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). Data is analyzed using reduction, display, and conclusion techniques. The research findings indicate that the implementation of MBKM at universities, whether face-to-face or online, can be achieved through student exchanges within the same or different universities, entrepreneurial activities, and thematic community service/fieldwork activities. The design of e-learning development to accelerate the implementation of MBKM can be initiated through: (a) ensuring the accessibility and stability of internet, electricity, telephone, and other infrastructure networks, (b) selecting reliable and modern hardware and software, (c) establishing a strong IT management institution with adequate operational funding, and (d) preparing professional human resources with a high work ethic. The next step is to enhance the performance of university e-learning and study programs in terms of content performance, accuracy, format, appropriateness, ease of use, security and privacy, and response speed

The Correlation of Watching English Movies Habit and Listening Skill

English movies are one of the most effective and enjoyable ways to develop listening skills. However, some students still find it difficult to understanding listening in teaching English. This research aims to determine whether there is a correlation between students’ habit in watching English movies and listening skill. The research method used quantitative correlational approaching involving 30 sixth semester students at English Education Department of IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo. The data collection was done using a questionnaire about watching habit to English movies and a listening test. The data analysis was performed using Pearson Product Moment Formula. The result showed that there is a strong positive correlation between habit in watching English movies and listening skill of English Education Department sixth semester students (r = 0.667). This indicates that the more intense the students’ habit in watching English movies, the better their listening skill.Keywords: Watching Habit, English Movies, Students’ Listening

The Most Appropriate Online Assessment Tools for Language Learning: An Analysis of Their Use and Challenge in EFL Instructions

The integration of assessment tools with technology can lead to numerous benefits, such as improving the efficiency and practicality of the assessment process and its results. Therefore, this study aimed to map the types of online grading systems in EFL testing classrooms and also determine the challenges faced by users, including EFL lecturers and students. This study involved 10 EFL lecturers and 15 students of the English Education Department of IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo, and the instruments used for data collection were observation sheets and a questionnaire. A minimum of 52 online grading systems were accessible through websites and these tools were assessed using instruments produced by the study team to identify any tools that could be employed in the context of language learning, particularly in terms of evaluation. Based on the results, 16 tools were identified for use in the language evaluation process. These included (1) Mentimeter, (2) AnswerGarden, (3) Blooket, (4) Gimkit, (5) Crowdsignal, (6) Google Formulir, (7) Kahoot, (8) Socrative, (9) Quizizz, (10) EdPuzzle, (11) Formative, (12) Floop, (13) JoeZoo, (14) EasyTestMaker, (15) Quia Web, and (16) Edmodo. Furthermore, 5 main components in terms of the challenges faced by EFL lecturers and students in applying these online grading systems in the learning process were identified. These components included preparing to conduct an online assessment, organization of questions, internet connection issues, the use of a device, and controlling a plagiarism/cheating issue.

Exploring The Meaning Of Islamic Accounting Courses For Students: A Phenomenological Approach

This research aims to explore the meaning of Islamic accounting courses for students. This qualitative research uses an interpretive paradigm and a transcendental phenomenological approach. The data source uses primary data with observation and interview data collection techniques, where the research informants are 20 students who have programmed Islamic accounting courses in the Islamic accounting study program at IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo. Before data analysis is carried out, a data validity test consists of credibility, dependability and confirmability tests. This research shows that learning Islamic accounting courses must focus on developing student competencies, optimizing business processes, and developing Islamic accounting applications. This research can contribute to developing academic literature on Islamic accounting by expanding understanding of the effectiveness of learning models on students' understanding of Islamic accounting courses. This research can contribute to universities improving and enhancing Islamic accounting learning models, making them more relevant and valuable for students in the world of work.

Students’ Satisfaction with Islamic Education Management Department Services at the State Islamic University of Sultan Amai Gorontalo, Indonesia

This study aims to analyze the student satisfaction index for the services of the Department of Islamic Education Management at IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo in 2023. Interview methods, participatory observations, and document studies were used to collect data from students who were active in the department. Participants were asked to assess various aspects of the service, including the quality of teaching, facilities, academic support, and participation in extracurricular activities. The collected data is analyzed to evaluate the overall level of student satisfaction. The main findings show that student satisfaction with the services of the Islamic Education Management Department is relatively high. Students give positive ratings of teaching quality, availability of facilities, academic support, and opportunities for participation in extracurricular activities. However, the study also identified several areas where improvements can be made to improve student satisfaction in the future. This study provides valuable insights for university managers to improve the quality of service and student learning experience in the Department of Islamic Education Management at IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo.

Religious Moderation: Concept and Implementation in State Islamic Religious Universities

This research aims to analyze the concept and implementation of religious moderation at two State Islamic Religious Universities (PTKIN), namely IAIN Manado and IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo. In qualitative research with a sociological approach, the research results show that the two PTKINs have succeeded in implementing the concept of religious moderation by prioritizing moderate attitudes, tolerance, and dialogue between religious believers in the campus environment. However, challenges such as skepticism and negative perceptions of religious moderation remain obstacles. The role of lecturers and education staff has a significant impact in supporting the implementation of religious moderation. Training programs and special initiatives have proven effective in increasing understanding and awareness of religious moderation among the academic community.

NON LINGUISTIC ASPECT CAUSED STUDENTS’ FOREIGN LANGUAGE ANXIETY IN SPEAKING ENGLISH

Foreign language anxiety is a type of anxiety that is experienced by individuals when learning, speaking, or interacting in a foreign language. Some scholars have been interested to investigate the foreign language anxietyin the classroom and identified the cause of students’ foreign language anxiety, either in international context or Indonesia context. Most of the factors related to the linguistic aspect, such as students lack vocabulary, students lack of pronunciation, and do not understand of teacher’s talk. However, the research about factors of foreign language anxiety is caused by non-linguistic aspect was still undergrown. This research came to stipulate the gap of knowledge. This research used qualitative method and study case design. It took 20 students of English Education Department FITK IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo who have Upper-Intermediate proficiency level. The instruments of research used foreign language anxiety scale to identify factors of students’ foreign language anxiety and in-depth interview to know the students’ reason of being anxiety in foreign language classroom. It used triangulation method in analysing data, namely reducing data, displaying data, and drawing conclusion. The results showing that there were 3 non-linguistic aspects in causing students’ foreign language anxiety. First, they felt worried if they had to speak in front of the class and answered the lecturer's questions voluntarily. Second, they felt worried if they do not understand what the lecturer is talking about. Third, they felt worried if they did not prepare before the lesson started. Fourth, students felt worried if they would get a bad score. This result implied to the teacher’s technique in asking the students to speak in front of the classmate. Therefore, the research suggested to apply small group discussion in teaching and learning speaking skill in foreign language classroom.

Analisis Pengaruh Aktivitas Pasar Tradisional Marisa Terhadap Kinerja Ruas Jalan Sultan Amai Kecamatan Marisa Kabupaten Pohuwato

The aim of this research is to determine the influence of Marisa Traditional Market activities on the performance of Marisa District Roads, Pohuwato Regency. The research was carried out at the Marisa Traditional Market, Jalan Sultan Amai, Marisa District, Pohuwato Regency using data analysis, namely vehicle volume (Q), free flow speed (Fv), capacity (C), degree of saturation (DS) and service level. The research results show that the vehicle volume at the morning peak hour is 373.53 vehicles/hour. The vehicle volume during the afternoon peak is 363.27 vehicles/hour and in the afternoon it is 450.10 vehicles/hour. Traffic speed (Fv) is 37.04 km/hour. The capacity value (C) is 2,249.84 pcu/hour. The degree of saturation (DS) value was 0.16 for the first day of observation, 0.17 for the second day of observation and 0.20 for the third day of observation. From the degree of saturation value, the level of service (LoS) value is obtained, namely A. Based on the characteristics of the level of service, this means free flow, low volume and high speed. The driver can choose the desired speed.

Language Anxiety for Students of Intermediate Speaking Proficiency Level

The focus of research on students' anxiety when speaking a foreign language, such as English, has shifted to language learning and education. However, the experience of students who reached the intermediate level remains underexplored, particularly in the context of students in intermediate speaking classes. This study aims to identify the students’ reasons for feeling anxious and whether intermediate students also experience language anxiety. This qualitative research involved 20 participants from an intermediate-speaking class of fifth-year English Education Department undergraduate students at IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo. Data were collected using an unstructured interview and an observation sheet. Triangulation was used to analyze data by checking the credibility of data from interviews and observations. According to the findings of this study, students were anxious for three reasons: they were afraid of making mistakes, they were shy to speak, and they had lost motivation to speak. The students who joined the intermediate speaking class experienced anxiety as their psychological disorder. Anxiety was identified as the dominant psychological disorder among the students. It supported the previous research that found students of all levels experienced anxiety in their speaking English class. As a result, to alleviate students' anxiety about speaking a foreign language, teachers must consider the students' anxiety when developing teaching materials and media.

Students’ Perception on Learning Grammar through Social Media during Covid-19 Pandemic

This study aimed to describe students' perceptions in learning grammar using social media during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research used qualitative method with descriptive analysis. The subjects of this study were 20 students who had been taught grammar through social media due to the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak in the third semester of the English Education Department of the Sultan Amai State Islamic Institute of Gorontalo in the academic year 2020/2021 which were taken with a purpose. Data collection that used was questionnaires and interviews. The data obtained were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions / data verification. The results of this study indicated that Students perception show that the most preferred social media for learning grammar by using social media was YouTube, Zoom, and WhatsApp and based on the result of research it showed that learning grammar by using social media are quite diverse and elaborate it. was very helpful, increasing the value, quite flexible but less motivated, less facilitated, not effective, has more disadvantages than advantages and less of interested. Based on students’ perception, 15 out of 20 students feel that they are not facilitated by the network to access the internet to learn grammar online because many students learn in their respective areas which are still difficult to signal to access the internet. From conventional to Islamic banks: Factors affecting customer interests and decision making in selecting banks

The phenomenon of increasing customers of take-over financing from conventional banks to Islamic banks is an interesting trend to study. This research purpose is to investigate the influence of murabahah financing margins, customer religiosity to customer interest and decision making. The method used is a sequential mixed method. The instrument quantitative is a questionnaire, and the qualitative method is an interview. 199 pensioner customers participated in the survey. Internal consistency is measured by Cronbach’s alpha value. The accuracy of the structural equation modeling (SEM) and hypothesis testing was evaluated using AMOS version 23. The research findings indicate, there was a significant influence between customer religiosity on customer interest and customer interest on decision making. Meanwhile, the murabahah financing margin has no significant influence on customer interest and decision making, as well as between customer religiosity and decision making. Murabahah financing margins and customer religiosity have an influence of significance when mediated by the variable of customer interest. In conclusion, Murabahah financing margin, and customer religiosity does not have a direct significant influence on decision making without being mediated by the variable of customer interest. These results indicate that Islamic bank managers can take advantage of this research variable to increase customer interest so that customer decision making also increases. This study has practical implications for conventional banks and sharia banks. Sharia banks are an opportunity to attract customers from conventional banks, while conventional banks are a challenge because their customers have the potential to take over Islamic banks. Kesalahan Berbahasa Arab Mahasiswa Tataran Sintaksis dalam Penulisan Insya’

Identifying Arabic errors among students is important for teaching staff, to determine the right lag in choosing the next learning strategy. The purpose of the study was to analyze the forms of Arabic errors at the syntactic level in writing insya' students in Arabic Language Education at IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo. This research is descriptive research with a type of qualitative research, which is to obtain an overview of syntactic errors on worksheets insya' by students. The results of the analysis found errors at the syntactic level which include: 1) errors in the use of the number of ismiyah, 2) errors in the number of fi'liyah, 3) errors in the use of na’tu and man’u>t, 4) errors in the arrangement of at}fu and ma’t}u>f ilaih.

Tracer Study of Arabic Language Education Alumni of Institut Agama Islam Negeri Sultan Amai Gorontalo

This Article discusses the tracer study of Arabic language education alumni of the Sultan Amai Gorontalo State Islamic Institute. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the alumni profile in the world of work and how stakeholders respond to alumni performance. This research includes descriptive quantitative research using the survey method. This research was conducted through google form with 113 alumni respondents and 9 stakeholders. The research instrument used was a questionnaire, the data analysis technique used percentages and a Likert scale. Based on the results of the study, the profile of alumni who completed the undergraduate education program was 89% and 11% continued the master's education program, 84% of the alumni had found work, 92% worked as education personnel, with a waiting period of less than 3 months 56% and those who had worked before graduating 24%. As for the responses regarding stakeholders related to alumni performance regarding the seven aspects, namely ethics, expertise in the field of science, use of information technology, teamwork, and self-development, most of them have received very good responses from stakeholders.

The Role of vaccination in reducing Covid-19 anxiety

One of the programs taken to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic is the implementation of vaccination. This study aims to explain the relationship between vaccination and COVID-19 anxiety. The subjects in this study were 259 students from the State Islamic Institute of Sultan Amai Gorontalo. The instrument used in this study was the fear of coronavirus-19 scale from Ahorsu et al. and analyzed using the Pearson correlation technique. The results showed a significant relationship between vaccination and anxiety about contracting COVID-19. This research is expected to be able to enrich the literature regarding anxiety about contracting Covid-19.

Development of Augmented Reality-based Arabic Uslub Materials to Improve Daily Language Expressing Ability

Background: A language is a communication tool every person uses to express their desires. However, few students who learn Arabic find it challenging to speak the daily language with the correct uslub Objective: This study aims to develop the Arabic language based on Augmented Reality to improve the ability to express with the correct phrasing and diverse language styles. Method: This study used the RnD method with the ADDIE model. The research location is at the IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo Language Development Center. The population is 100 students, and the sample is 30 students. The data collection procedure is done by observation, interview, lift and test. Data analysis techniques are carried out with T-tests, and presentations are carried out with Likert scales. Results and Discussion: This study produced several recommendations that the basis of Augmented Reality can improve students' ability to express Arabic with the correct uslub Conclusion and Implication: This study concluded that students' ability to express themselves with the Arabic language needs to be accompanied, trained and continue to be familiarized with campus life so that daily expressions become spontaneous habits. The implications of this study suggest that learning Arabic using standard terms can be helped by augmented reality as a technology that combines digital elements, such as images, sounds, and virtual objects, with user needs.

Kecenderungan Pemilihan Bahasa (Ikhtiar Al-Lughah) Mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Arab

This study aims to describe the tendency of choosing the language used by students, especially in the Arabic Education Department. The tendency of choosing the language is seen based on the place and situation where the speech event occurs. This research method uses a descriptive method, a method that seeks to describe a situation or phenomenon that is happening at the present time. The population of this study were students in Arabic education department Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Faculty IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo, the number of samples taken was 20 students. The results of this study indicate that on average 60% of those who choose to use Indonesian. In addition to Indonesian, some students also chose to use regional languages as much as 11%, first language 12.5%, mixed languages 13%, and for Arabic as much as 3.5%. The choice of language is influenced by internal and external factors. Internal factors are in the form of different cultural and social backgrounds, while external factor is environment. So, it can be concluded that the tendency of choosing the language of students in Arabic language education is Indonesian in both formal and informal situations. The data obtained in this study describes the results of the use of language variations in the Arabic Education Department so that further research is needed on the influence of cultural and environmental backgrounds on students' language skills.
