Abstract An improved spectrophotometric method for determining Temik residues in citrus has been developed by using an acetone extraction followed by a Florisil column cleanup to remove interfering svibstances. The method also determines the sulfone and sulfoxide metabolites of Temik and Temik oxime, but it does not differentiate between parent compound and/or its metabolites. An overall average recovery of 98.5 ± 2.2 % was obtained on samples fortified at levels of 0.002-0.200 ppm. As little as 0.0006 ppm Temik, based on a 500 g fruit sample, covdd be determined
