This study aims to describe in a descriptive way the experience of Nursing and Medicine students at the University of the State of Pará (UEPA), in a Basic Health Unit (UBS), through the Education Program for Health Work (PET). -Health), and describe the practices developed with patients participating in the Aterial Hypertension and Diabetes (Hiperdia) program. This is a descriptive study, with a qualitative approach, developed at UBS do Uruará, in the municipality of Santarém-PA. In view of the experiences, the importance of the triad in the treatment of high blood pressure and diabetes was highlighted, consisting of medication, physical activity and healthy eating, as problems of lack of adherence to treatment, depression and lack of physical activity in program users. The study made it possible to verify the importance of health education for the quality of life of patients, in addition to contributing to the professional training of students through PET-Saúde.
