PENGARUH GAYA BELAJAR MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS X TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMAMATIS PADA MATERI MATRIKS DI SMK NEGERI 1 TOMA

The objective of this study is to gather empirical data on the impact of several learning methods (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic) on the mathematical communication skills of class X students at SMK Negeri 1 Toma during the 2023/2024 academic year. This study falls under the category of quantitative research. All the participants in this study were 45 students in the X grade at SMK Negeri 1 Toma. The data gathering procedures used in this study consist of questionnaires and tests. The study employs many data analysis approaches, including Classical Assumption Test, Simple Linear Regression Analysis, Partial Determination Coefficient Analysis, and Hypothesis Testing. The study findings indicate that the tcount for the learning style variable (X) is 3,757 with a table value of 1.681, and the significant level is 0.000, which is less than 0.05. Additionally, the coefficient of determination test (R2) yields a value of 0.247, indicating that it has an impact of 24.7%. It can be inferred that the learning style variable (X) has a positive and substantial impact on the student's mathematical communication ability variable, as well as the mathematical communication ability of the whole class. Hence, academics propose doing a comprehensive investigation to scrutinise this event and use it as a point of reference.

The Effect of the PBL Model on Learning Outcomes Viewed from Mathematical Communication Ability of Students

Teachers as educators need to apply various learning models in order to optimize student learning outcomes. In addition, teachers need to concern to the mathematical communication skills possessed by students. The purpose of this research was to analyze the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on Mathematics Learning Outcomes in terms of students' mathematical communication skills. This research is a quantitative research using experimental methods and using a factorial experiment design. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling technique. The instruments used in this research were questions on the test of mathematical communication ability and test questions on learning outcomes in the form of descriptions. Statistical analysis used the Friedman two way ANOVA test. The results showed that there was an effect between learning models and mathematical communication skills on student learning outcomes. Students who receive PBL learning have an average learning outcome higher than students who receive conventional learning. In addition, students had high mathematical communication skills get the highest average learning outcomes compared.

The Effect of Self-Confidence and Mathematics Anxiety on Mathematical Communication Ability of Class IX Students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah

This research was conducted at MTsN 1 Mataram in the 2023/2024 school year with the aim of seeing the effect of self-confidence and math anxiety on student’s mathematical communication skills. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research with ex post facto method. The population of this study was class IX MTsN 1 Mataram. In determining the sample, probability sampling technique with cluster random sampling type was used. The sample in this study were students of class IX-4 MTsN 1 Mataram, totaling 32 students. The instruments used in this study were self-confidence questionnaire, math anxiety questionnaire, and mathematical communication ability test. The data analysis technique used was descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The results of data analysis showed that: (1) The average self-confidence of class IX students of MTsN 1 Mataram in the 2023/2024 school year is in the medium category, where the largest frequency is in the low category with a percentage of 37.50%. The average student math anxiety is in the low category with the largest frequency in the low category at 53.13%. And the average mathematical communication ability of students is in the high category with the largest frequency in the medium category at 40.63%. (2) There is a positive and significant influence between self-confidence on student’s mathematical communication skills by 24.9%. (3) There is a negative and significant influence between math anxiety on student’s mathematical communication skills by 25.6%. (4) There is a significant influence between self-confidence and math anxiety together on student’s mathematical communication skills by 36.4%.

Analysis of Elementary School Student's Mathematical Communication Ability on Statistics

Students' difficulty in communicating a problem into a mathematical model is one of the important things that must be corrected. This research was carried out based on the results of a preliminary study which showed that students' mathematical communication skills in statistics material were stull low. This study aims to determine students' difficulties in solving application problems. The research method used in this research is qualitative. This research was conducted in an elementary school in West Bandung Regency with 32 V class students as subjects. The instruments used in this study were a descprition test consisting of four questions and interviews. The indicators of mathematical communication used are : (1) Expressing everyday events in symbols or mathematical language, (2) Explain ideas, situations, and mathematical relations with real objects, pictures, graphs, and algebra, (3) Expressing images in the form of ordinary language, (4) Read with comprehension a written mathematical presentation The results of the study show that students still have difficulty communicating the given application problems, especially in making diagrams. Students feel confused in communicating from ordinary forms into diagrammatic forms. Students are confused in determining the value and frequency in the form of a diagram. students also have difficulty reading diagrams and changing the results of the diagrams into ordinary language.

The Effect Of Using Multimedia Macromedia Flash On Student Mathematics Communication At SMP Negeri 1 Labuhan Deli

This research is a quasi-experimental research. The research conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Labuhan Deli aims to find out. 1) To find out how the mathematical communication ability of students who learn to use Macromedia Flash. 2) To find out how the mathematical communication ability of students who learn without using Macromedia Flash. 3) To find out whether the mathematical communication of students who learn using Macromedia Flash media is better than the mathematical communication of students who learn without using Macromedia Flash media for class VII students at SMP Negeri 1 Labuhan Deli T.A. 2021/2022. The population in this study were all students of class VII at SMP Negeri 1 Labuhan Deli. Using a homogeneous technique, samples were taken from 2 classes of population. One class was used as the experimental class, namely class VII-2 which was taught with Macromedia Flash and class VII-3 which was used as the control class, namely class which was taught without using Macromedia Flash. As a data collection tool using PreTest and PostTest. In this study 1) the mathematical communication ability of students learning to use Macromedia Flash with an average pretest of 67.77 and a posttest of 85.54. 2) the mathematical communication ability of students who learn without using Macromedia Flash with an average pretest of 67.13 and a posttest of 77.54. then testing the hypothesis for learning outcomes using paired t-test. after testing the data, it turns out that the results of testing the ability of learning outcomes in the experimental class at the pretest level α = 0.05 with Lcount < Ltable, namely 0.09452 <0.192 and posttest 0.1228 <0.192 , and the results of testing the ability of learning outcomes in the control class at the pretest level α = 0.05 with Lcount < Ltable, namely 0.1014 < 0.184 and posttest 0.1659 < 0.184, then H0 is accepted and Hi is rejected. Thus it can be concluded that the mathematical communication ability of students who use macromedia flash media are better than those without using macromedia flash media.

Analisis pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dengan strategi pembelajaran think-talk-write

This study aims determine results of tests of conceptual understanding and communicatio skills with the TTW learning strategy conducted in class VIII of MTs Al Ikhlas Beringin Private. In this study, researcher used a qualitative descriptive type of research. In this study, data was collected by administering tests, by distributing test tests in the form of essay questions on cubes and blocks to 30 students in class 8-B of Al Ikhlas Beringin Private MTs in even semester of the school year. 2022/2023. After that, the results of each student's answer were classified for each indicator in understanding the concept and mathematical communication ability to be achieved as well as being used as a sample consisting of 6 students from the concept understanding test and 6 students from the student's mathematical communication ability test. The assessment is carried out by means of reduction, presentation of data and drawing conclusions. From the results of the analysis obtained, it can be concluded that the TTW learning strategy is carried out in class 8 MTs Al Ikhlas Beringin has a good effect because the average student score on the test of understanding concepts and students' mathematical communication skills is quite good.

Penerapan Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Think-Talk-Write Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa Pada Materi Statistika di Kelas VIII SMP Parulian 1 Medan

Mathematics is a scientific field that investigates formless structures and forms of interaction within them. Mathematical interaction is a powerful tool used to express mathematical opinions verbally or in writing. The Think-Talk-Write (TTW) learning approach is designed to facilitate the construction, reflection, and organization of new mathematical views. This study aims to explore the efficacy of using TTW learning examples as a tactic to enhance the quality of students' mathematical communication, and to assess the impact of this approach. In order to achieve these goals, researchers used classroom action research in two stages of testing. The study involved 21 students in grade VIII at SMP Parulian 1 Medan. The initial ability test revealed that the students' mathematical communication ability scores were 34.2%. After conducting test activities in cycle I, the average mathematical communication ability of students rose to 36.8%. In the second cycle (II), the percentage result increased to 88%. The results of the research demonstrate that students in Class VIII at SMP Parulian 1 Medan experience a significant improvement in their mathematical communication skills through learning via the Think-Talk-Write model. We can conclude that this approach is an effective way to enhance students' mathematical communication skills.
 

Peningkatan Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa Smp Melalui Model Problem Based Learning Berbantuan Geogebra

The aims of this study were to: 1) Know the improvement in the mathematical communication abilities of students who received the Geogebra-assisted Problem Based Learning model was better than students who received conventional learning models. 2) Knowing the Self-confidence of students who get the Geogebra-assisted Problem Based Learning model is better than students who get conventional learning models. 3) Knowing that there is a correlation between mathematical communication ability and self-confidence of students who obtain the Geogebra-assisted Problem Based Learning model. The method used is quasi-experimental. The subjects in this study were students of SMPN 16 Bandung. Data analysis technique with a two-sample comparison test (t-test) using the IBM SPSS 23.0 for Windows software program. Based on the results of data analysis, the following conclusions are obtained: 1) Improved mathematical communication ability of students who get the Geogebra-assisted Problem Based Learning model are better than students who get conventional learning models. 2) Self-confidence of students who use the Geogebra-assisted Problem Based Learning model is better than students who receive conventional learning models. 3) There is a correlation between mathematical communication ability and self-confidence of students who obtain the Geogebra-assisted Problem Based Learning model.

PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN CONNECTING, ORGANIZING, REFLECTING, AND EXTENTING DENGAN MEDIA POSTER TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIS PESERTA DIDIK

This research was inspired by the lack of students’ mathematical communication ability. Mathematical communication ability is one of the basic abilities that need to be achieved in mathematics. In fact, learning activities in SMK N 9 Batam are not optimal in facilitating students to improve these aspects. The average score of the mathematical communication ability test that does not meet the value of mathematical communication ability criteria is evidence of this. This research uses the Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, and Extending learning model that comes with poster media to improve mathematical communication ability. This study has the purpose to describe the development of students’ mathematical communication ability as long as the CORE learning model comes with poster media is applied and comparing the mathematical communication ability of students who learn using the CORE learning model comes with poster media with students who learn by direct learning model. This research is descriptive and quasi-experimental research using research design is the non-equivalent control group design. After analyzing the data, through quizzes the mathematical communication skills of the experimental class had increased, then through the final test the mathematical communication ability of students who studied using the CORE learning model that comes with poster media was better than students who studied with direct learning models in class XI SMK Negeri 9 Batam. Mathematical Communication Ability in Core Learning Realistic Mathematics Approach with the Assist of Quizizz

Mathematical communication skills are very important in learning mathematics. The mathematical communication skills of grade III students at SD Tandang 02 were still relatively low, they have not been able to express opinions about mathematics or explain in notation or hull form. This study aimed to determine the increase in students' mathematical communication skills in CORE learning with a quizizz-assisted realistic mathematics approach. The method used in this study was a Quasi-Experimental method. The population in this study were class III students in the even semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. Selection of the sample using cluster random sampling technique. The sample in this study was class III students as an experimental class, the class that was subjected to CORE learning with a quizizz-assisted realistic mathematics approach. Data collection techniques in this study are documentation techniques, test techniques, observation, and interviews. The research instruments used were mathematical communication question sheets, interview guidelines and observation sheets when learning took place. The data analysis technique used is a prerequisite test which includes normality and homogeneity tests, hypothesis testing which includes completeness tests, average difference tests and influence tests. The results showed that there was an increase in mathematical communication skills using the CORE model with a realistic mathematical approach based on quizizz media. The success of this increase can be seen from the results of research on frequency tendencies which show an increase during the posttest or after being given learning. The completeness test also showed that the proportion of completeness of students subjected to the CORE learning model with a quizizz-assisted realistic mathematics approach is more than 75%. The results of the independent sample t-test to find out the difference between the control and experimental classes, the results of the significance value show the number 0.00 <0.05. This proves that there is a difference in the average mathematical communication ability of students in the experimental class and the control class after learning. In the matter of mathematical communication skills, there were no students who achieved high gain scores, students who achieved moderate gain scores had a percentage of 82%, and students who achieved low gain scores had a percentage of 18%. PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KONTEKSTUAL TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIS SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

This research is motivated by the low mathematical communication ability of students in expressing ideas and relating the knowledge students have to real situations. This study aims to determine the contextual learning model influences students' mathematical communication ability better than the direct learning model. This research is a quasi-experimental research. The population of this study were all fourth grade students at SDN 050660 Kwala Bingai, Stabat, which consisted of three parallel classes with a total of 89 students. The sampling system used was cluster random sampling with classes IVA and IVB classes being sampled. Class IVA as the control class consisted of 30 students and class IVB as the experimental class consisted of 27 students. Data analysis was performed by two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results showed that the contextual learning model had a better effect on students' mathematical communication abilities compared to the learning model. This shows that the contextual learning model provides a good change in developing students' mathematical communication ability.

Pengaruh Sikap Belajar Terhadap Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 43 Merangin

The mathematical communication ability of students is still low, is known from the results of the initial test that there are no students who meet learning mastery. Because students have not mastered and are ability to apply all indicators of mathematical communication skills. The purpose of this research is to describe the significant influence between learning attitudes on mathematical communication skills. This research uses a quantitative approach to the correlational method. The population of this research is all students of class VIII SMP N 43 Merangin consisting of 4 classes totaling 120 people. For the sample using the Taro Yamane formula, 55 people were selected, the sampling method used was simple random sampling with the lottery method. The data collection technique used questionnaire and test data. The instrument used in the form of statement items and items about mathematical communication skills. Based on the data analysis technique, the data obtained are normally distributed and have a linear pattern. Furthermore, to test the hypothesis using the Pearson product moment formula, and the significance test using the Z-test, followed by the determinant coefficient formula for variable X to variable Y from the analysis is known that the coefficient of determination is 27.35%. Then a simple linear regression test and a regression significance test were performed. Based on the results of data analysis, it shows that if Fcount > Ftable or 19.948 > 1.907, then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there is a significant influence between learning attitudes on the mathematical communication skills of eighth grade students of SMP N 43 Merangin.Keywords: Learning Attitude, Mathematical Communication Ability

Analysis of Mathematical Critical Thinking Ability and Mathematical Creativity: Judging from the Process of Deriving the Fermi-Dirac Formula

This study aims to see and simultaneously describe the ability to think critically and creatively in student physics teacher candidates in the Fermi-Dirac course. Descriptive quantitative was used as the method of this research. Data collection in the study used tests on the cognitive domain in the form of a description of 8 questions where four measured critical thinking skills and four questions measured creative thinking skills. The data analysis process was carried out qualitatively and then described to determine the students' mathematical critical thinking and creative thinking skills, which were then assessed in distribution based on the categories that had been created. The data and facts that the researchers found after the study showed that the average mathematical thinking ability of students was in the Good Enough category, and the average mathematical communication ability of students were also in the Good Enough category.

Understanding Mathematical Communication Concepts and Skills: Analysis of the Ability of Prospective Physics Teachers?

The research that has been carried out aims to see the ability to understand mathematical concepts and mathematical communication of students on the Maxwell-Boltzman material for Tadris Physics students, especially students in semester VI. This research is a quantitative descriptive study in which the data collected from the test results and the results of the lecture process at the time of giving the Maxwell-Boltzman material will be analyzed and described and added with a test technique on the cognitive domain in the form of a description test (essay) consisting of 7 test questions, where five questions are for understanding students' mathematical concepts and two questions for technical analysis of students' mathematical communication skills. The data obtained in the quantitative analysis and according to the five categories that have been determined. The facts obtained from the results of the study show that students' ability to understand mathematical concepts in the Maxwell-Boltzman material is in the Good Enough category, and the average mathematical communication ability of students is also in the Good Enough category.

The Effect of Cabri Express in Geometry Learning on Students' Mathematical Communication Ability

Cabri is characterized by an attractive advantage and provides wide-ranging benefits in the teaching of mathematics. Although today there have been many studies on the edges of Cabri, experiments on Cabri-Express have not been widely explored. For this reason, a quasi-experimental study with a randomized posttest only design involving 80 grade VII junior high school students in Ruteng, Indonesia, was conducted to analyze the effect of Cabri-Express in learning geometry on students' overall mathematical communication ability (MCA) and based on students' initial mathematical abilities. The results of the MCA test are the research data, which consists of 5 questions that are then analyzed by t-test and preceded by conducting an analysis prerequisite test. The Hedges equation describes how much influence the Cabri-Express model has on students' MCA. The results showed that the overall MCA of students who were taught using the help of an Cabri-Express was better than students who were taught using the conventional model. From the Hedges equation, an effect size of 1.23 is obtained, indicating that the use of Cabri-Expresses strongly affects students' MCA. These results interpret that students who are ranked 13th in the experimental class are equivalent to those who are ranked 5th in the control class. By clarifying the effect of Cabri-Express on students' MCA, this study recommends the need to use Cabri-Express in mathematics classes. The analysis results can also help researchers explore other material in a relatable context.

Analysis Of Mathematical Communication Skills On The Material Of Two-Variable Linear Equation System In Smp Negeri 7 Medan

The purpose of this study was to describe the mathematical communication skills of class VIII students of a two-variable linear equation system at UPT SMP Negeri 7 Medan. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The samples taken in this study using purposive sampling were students at UPT SMP Negeri 7 Medan, namely class VIII. The instrument used in this research is a test of mathematical communication skills in the form of 4 essay questions. Data collection techniques using triangulation techniques, followed by data analysis which includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of student tests that have been carried out on the material of mathematical communication skills show that most students meet the indicators of mathematical communication skills. So, it can be concluded that this study shows that the overall mathematical communication ability of students is relatively high, this can be seen from the results of mathematical communication skills at the high category level of 53%, the level of the medium category of 31%, and the level of the medium category of 31%. the low category rate is 16%.

Implementation of Think Pair Share (TPS) Learning Strategies to Improve Students' Mathematical Communication Skills on Integer Materials in Class VII SMP Negeri 1 Tigabinanga 2014/2015 Academic Year

The type of research used in this research is classroom action research where action research is research that has the aim of improving the quality of learning in the classroom so that there are improvements in the classroom. The purpose of this study was to improve students' mathematical communication skills in learning integer material through Think Pair Share (TPS) learning strategies. The subjects of this study were class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Tigabinanga for the academic year 2014/2015 Class VII-1 with a total of 38 students. In accordance with this type of research, this research has several stages which are cycles. Based on the results of the research presented in Chapter IV, conclusions can be drawn that learning by applying the Think Pair Share (TPS) strategy can improve students' mathematical communication skills seen from the increase in the average test results of students in cycle I and cycle II. The results of the student's mathematical communication ability test in the first cycle obtained an average score of 2.51 with a student's mathematical communication ability level of 60.52% or a low category. In the second cycle, the average score of the students' mathematical communication ability test reached 2.91 with the students' mathematical communication ability level of 84.21% or the medium category. This means that the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning strategy can improve students' mathematical communication skills, especially on integer material in class VII SMP Negeri 1 Tigabinanga academic year 2014/2015.

The effect of brain-based learning on student’ mathematical communication ability viewed from creativities in the thematic subjects of science physics - mathematics

This study aims to determine the effect of Brain Based Learning on students’ mathematical communication ability viewed from creativities, in the thematic subjects of science physics - mathematics. The research was carried out at SDN Pantai Harapan Jaya 01, Muara Gembong District, using experimental research on treatment with a level 2 x 2 design. The results showed that:(1) the mathematical communication ability of students who are given brain-based learning treatment is higher than students who use expository, (2) there is an interaction of learning models with creativity on students’ mathematical communication ability, (3) students’ mathematical communication ability with brain-based learning are morehigher than expository, this is for students who have high creativity, and (4) there is no difference in mathematical communication ability with brain based learning and expository treatment between students who have low creativity.

Analysis of Students Mathematical Communication Ability in Solving Trigonometry Problems Reviewed from Students Learning Interests

Mathematical communication ability have an important role for students in knowing their abilities when communicating their understanding. The purpose of this study is to analyse students’ mathematical communication ability in solving trigonometry problems in terms of interest in learning. This research uses qualitative descriptive research. The instrument used in this study were the questionnaire interest in learning, the mathematical ability test, and interview. The results of this study is mathematical communication ability is different for every subject both orally or writing related with interest in learning. And the conclusion of the study is mathematical communication ability in writing, subject with high interest learning still better than the subject interested in learning is medium and the interest in learning is low. While the ability to communicate mathematically oral subject with medium and low interest learning still better than the subject interested in learning is high. Abstrak: Kemampuan komunikasi matematika berperan penting bagi siswa dalam mengetahui kemampuannya saat mengkomunikasikan pemahamannya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal trigonometri ditinjau dari minat belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis berbeda-beda setiap subjek baik secara lisan maupun tulisan yang dihubungkan dengan minat belajar. Dan kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah kemampuan komunikasi matematis tulis, subjek dengan minat belajar tinggi lebih baik daripada subjek dengan minat belajar sedang dan minat belajar rendah. Sedangkan secara lisan, subjek pada minat belajar sedang dan rendah lebih baik daripada subjek minat belajar tinggi. Kata kunci: kemampuan komunikasi matematis, minat belajar, trigonometri. Development of Learning Outcome Assessment Instruments with Mathematics Communication Ability in High School Mathematics Learning

This study (1) develop a learning assessment instrument with the assignment technique-oriented to mathematical communication ability in high school mathematics of trigonometry material (2) reveal the feasibility of the developed instrument, (3) reveal the characteristics of the developed instrument, (4) reveal the users' responses to the instrument, (5) measure the ability of mathematical communication of the students on high school mathematics in learning trigonometry. This study was research and development using the procedure of tests preparation based on Mardapi (2017 ) with the steps including preparing test specifications, writing test questions, reviewing tests, administering tests, analyzing tests items, improving the tests, assembling the tests, administering the tests and interpreting results. The initial product was field-tested to 254 students of high schools in Yogyakarta City. The result of the research was an assessment instrument of learning outcomes with assignment technique-oriented to the mathematical communication ability in high school mathematics learning of trigonometry. The Aiken index was 0.7 for this instrument, and the instrument was reliably tested to a test of participants with the ability ( q ) between -4.07 logits < q <3.79 logits. The teachers' responses to test instruments were good. The results of field trials showed that 20 items fit with the PCM model. The level of difficulty was in the range of -1.29 logits <b < 1.32 logits. The function of the test information Obtained by q = -0.11 logit and the standard error of measurement was 0:18. The measurement result of 90 students shows that the student's mathematical communication ability was 67%.
