Perancangan Prototype Sistem Informasi Repository Skripsi Berbasis Web Di UNA’IM Yapis Wamena Papua

In Indonesia, there are many institutions that use information systems in the field of education, one of which is the Repository information system. Repository is a digital-based library term where this information system can be used to access student thesis, both the academic community and academics outside the campus as reference material for writing scientific papers. Even so, not all colleges use it. One of them is Amal Ilmiah Yapis Wamena University. As a university located in conflict and mountainous areas, data loss often occurs. Likewise with the use of information systems that have not been maximized. This study aims to design a prototype of a web-based thesis repository information system at the Amal Ilmiah Yapis Wamena University. The method used is simulated prototyping. The results of this study show the prototype/prototype design in the form of a web-based thesis repository information system mockup as many as 7 (seven) mockup pages, including the login page, lecturer list, Lecturer data entry form, student list, student data entry form, repository list, and form. repository data entry.

Dr. Charles L. Suffel: Scholar, teacher, mentor, friend

Dr. Charles L. Suffel (1941–2021) was an influential mathematics educator and scholar at Stevens Institute of Technology for more than half a century. The Managing Editor of Networks for 20 years, Suffel's reach extended far beyond the Stevens campus. He coauthored dozens of graph theory papers and mentored more than a dozen Ph.D. thesis students. In this article, we discuss his contributions to the field of network reliability theory and his legacy as a teacher and mentor.

Examining Frequent Grammatical Errors in Student Theses: A Case Study of a Private University in Sulawesi

The purpose of this study was to determine the most common grammatical errors found in students’ theses at a private university in Southeast Sulawesi, and to consider the possible causes of the students’ mistakes. Descriptive qualitative methods were used. Students were recruited through purposive sampling. The theses were analyzed using the Mileys & Huberman’s approach. During the data collection process, the writer documented the thesis background and noted any errors that were discovered. 803 errors were found in the background of students’ theses. The most common errors were on misformation, which accounted for 547 or 68.12% of all errors, followed by omission errors, which accounted for 128 or 15.94% of all errors. Misordering and addition, on the other hand, accounted for 11.83% and 4.10% of all errors, respectively. The researchers deduced from the error analysis that mother tongue interference and target language causes contributed to these errors (false analogy, misanalysis, incomplete rule application, exploiting redundancy, overlooking co-occurrence restrictions, hypercorrection, overgeneralization, or system-simplification).

Habitat Buatan Cumi Untuk Menunjang Konservasi dan Wisata Bahari Pantai Pangi, Blitar

This community service activity for the Doctoral Serving UB funding scheme is one of the efforts to help partners in Pangi Beach in managing Pangi beach marine tourism. The activity will be held from June to November 2021 located on Pangi beach. There are three main activities, namely discussions with partners, designing and producing artificial squid habitats and finally setting up artificial squid habitats on the seabed of Pangi beach. The method implemented in this service is workshop, training, discussion and assistance starting from training to setting 4 artificial squid habitat units on Pangi beach which is carried out well. The results of the activities in addition to the installation of artificial squid habitats, are also the transfer of knowledge in conservation-based tourism management. The follow-up activity is monitoring which is planned to be carried out through Internship and Student Thesis Research activities in 2022. Cooperation and public awareness (partners) of the importance of developing conservation-based tourism are the main things for this service activity to run well.

Desafíos y oportunidades para el desarrollo de la investigación por parte de estudiantes de Odontología

Background: Regardless of the number of students involved in research, during their university studies, the challenges of conducting research mean that very few choose a career as a researcher in the future. Objective. Analyze the challenges and opportunities that dentistry students perceive when carrying out scientific research. Methods. Observational and cross-sectional study that included 112 thesis students who completed their final degree work at the Faculty of Dentistry (Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. Lima-Peru). The perception of the challenges and opportunity was measured at the end of the study through a scale that assessed the categories of: facilities and infrastructure as support, interpersonal support and institutional relations, writing a report and publishing research results, among others. Scores were analyzed through averages and an association analysis with the personal characteristics of each student. Results: The general score was 2.45 ± 0.34, being the dimensions “data analysis” (3.17 ± 0.41) and “general research experience” (3.26 ± 0.39) those that presented a higher average. Men presented higher overall scores (2.43 ± 0.31), with significant differences in the dimensions "research design and selection" (p = 0.001).  Conclusion: The challenges and opportunities for research are below average, the main challenges were related to institutional support, the presence of adequate laboratories and an inadequate curricular design to promote research; the main opportunities were found in data analysis and research experience in general.

Implementasi Integrasi Islam dan Kedokteran Dalam Tugas Akhir Mahasiswa (Skripsi) Pada Fakultas Kedokteran dan Ilmu Kesehatan UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang

Background: The integration of Islam and science is the process of unification of various branches of science that exist with an assumption that all components of science come from God, which can be implemented in the learning curriculum in all faculties, including the faculty of medicine and health Sciences in the doctor's education study program. To achieve the vision of realising an integrative doctorate education study program in combining science and Islam of international repute, the integration is implemented in several fields of Education and teaching, including writing the final student project (thesis). Objective : to know the concept of integration of Islam and medicine and its implementation in writing student thesis at the faculty of medicine in ptkin environment. Method: This study uses a qualitative descriptive model to describe the concept of Islamic integration and prayer and its implementation in student thesis in the Medical Education Study Program of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences by sampling ten student thesis in 2020. The results of the study are: 1) The concept used in the integration of Islam and medicine in the final project of students is a model of integration of Islamic Science, which makes the Qur'an and Hadith the foundation of the development of medical science. 2) The concept of integration of Islam and Medicine set out in the thesis writing manual has not been implemented optimally because there are differences in the writing of integration concepts in their final project. Conclusion: The implementation of Islamic Integration and Medicine has not been conceptualized optimally in preparing the final student project (thesis) at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. OBSTACLES OF STUDENTS IN WRITING THE THESIS FINAL PROJECT IN THE STUDY PROGRAM OF IPS EDUCATION FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES AND LAW, STATE UNIVERSITY OF MAKASSAR

This study aims to find out 1) the inhibiting factors of students that affect the writing of the thesis final project in the Social Sciences Education Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, Makassar State University during the process of preparing the thesis final project. 2) The obstacles faced in writing the final thesis of students in the Social Sciences education study program, Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, Makassar State University during the process of preparing the thesis. 3) The impact of student barriers in writing the final thesis of students in the Social Sciences education study program, Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, Makassar State University when the process of preparing the thesis final project. The type of research used by the researcher is qualitative. as for data collection techniques through documentation, observation and interviews. The data collection process used by the researcher includes: data collection, word reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the obstacles in writing the final thesis in the Social Studies Education Study Program are divided into two, namely 1) Internal such as motivation or encouragement and also activities or busyness. 2) External, such as the administrative process and the guidance process with the supervisor. The impact of these obstacles has an impact on students' psychology which creates inner pressure from people around, so that students feel pressured and then try to avoid this pressure by looking for other activities.

An analysis on students' thesis topics and research types in automotive engineering education program

This study aims to analyze the topics and types/methods of research in the thesis of students of the Automotive Engineering Education study program, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. This research is descriptive research. The types/methods were descriptive models, Action Research, Ex Post-Facto, Research and Development, Evaluation, and Experimental Research (100, 69, 50, 35, 30, and 23 studies respectively). The study was conducted by analyzing 320 student thesis articles published from 2014 to 2018 in the Yogyakarta State University student e-journal. The results showed that the student's thesis topics consisted of 5 research topics, namely: education (139 topics), learning (120 topics), media development (43 topics), university issues (9 topics), and automotive engineering topics (9 pieces). Based on the results of the research, the types/research methods used were categorized into six methods, namely descriptive models (100 studies), classroom action research (69 studies), ex-post-facto (50 studies), research and development (48 studies), evaluation (30 studies), research and experimental (23 studies).

Problem of Research in Islamic Economics

Indonesia is currently the country with the largest Muslim population in the world. The total Muslim population of 80% makes an Islamic-based economy possible to expand widely related to fashion, culinary, tourism, cosmetics, and various topics. Currently, the Indonesian government, practitioners, and academics are working hard to improve the performance of the Islamic finance industry. Understanding that Islamic Economics is only related to Islamic finance is too shallow perception. Many other sectors can be developed, including the hotel business, tourism, culinary, fashion, hotel, other topics. However, research related to the sectors mentioned is very minimal. The phenomenon is happening because most Islamic economic research worldwide discusses topics related to the financial sector. The researchers have been interested in discussing the development of research on Islamic Economics at the University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra (UMSU) for the last four years. The research is descriptive because the existing data is not processed to accept or reject the hypothesis. The sample selection criteria in this study are all UMSU student thesis related to Islamic economics for the last four years from 2017 – 2020. The results of the study found that out of 499 theses, the majority of students’ research was around the theme of Islamic banking, which was 78%, other themes (including MSMEs, e-commerce, Sharia marts) were 6%, the ZISWAF theme and Halal Industry got the same percentage. Namely, 5 – 6%, the Islamic Capital Market theme at 3.4%, the Fashion and Cosmetics theme at 2%, and the Insurance theme at only 0.8%. considering the current research conditions, it is time for the study program to develop Islamic economic research outside Islamic banking.

Analisis Tingkat Keusangan dan dan Paro Hidup Literatur Monograf yang Disitir pada Skripsi Mahasiswa Program Studi Ilmu Perpustakaan Fakultas Adab dan Humaniora UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi Tahun 2017-2020

Introduction This study aims to determine the level of obsolescence and half-life of monograph literature used in thesis writing for students of the Library Science Department, Faculty of Adab and Humanities, UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. This is on top of the importance of using new literature in every scientific writing to show progress or developments in the field of science.
 Research methods. The research uses quantitative methods with a bibliometric approach.
 Data analysis. data analysis using bibliometric analysis formula in finding the level of obsolescence and half-life of documents.
 Results and Discussion. The results show that the highest level of literary obsolescence is found in the thesis in 2019 with a percentage of 55.87% of the 571 books cited, which are 319 books, and the lowest level of obsolescence is found in the thesis in 2017 with a percentage of 46.22% of the 357 cited books, namely a total of 165 books. While overall from 2017-2020 the average obsolescence rate obtained was 50.89%. For the level of up-to-date literature is 49.31% based on the average age of the half-life obtained, which is 10.39 years.
 Conclusions and suggestions. Looking at the percentage of monograph literature used in student thesis writing, there are 49.31% new literature and 50.89% obsolete literature. So it can be said that more than half of the monograph literature used in student research is not up-to-date. Libraries located in higher education institutions at the level or level that have the skills to meet user needs, especially in making thesis by providing the latest literature can present up-to-date and useful information in the development of science, especially in the field of Library Science.

PEMILIHAN SKRIPSI MAHASISWA TERBAIK MENGGUNAKAN METODE COMPOSITE PERFORMANCE INDEX (CPI)

Thesis is a scientific work written by undergraduate students that discusses a particular topic or field based on the results of a literature review written by experts, the results of field research, or the results of development (experiments). The problem in this research is that the process of selecting the best thesis is still subjective without regard to other criteria and is also done manually which makes the selection process less efficient. The purpose of this research is to create a system for selecting the best student thesis. The method used in this research is the Composite Performance Index (CPI). Methods of data collection techniques by means of observation, interviews, documentation. The results of this study are the Composite Performance Index (CPI) method can be used for selecting the best student thesis and the results obtained for the first rank are A1 with a value of 218.75, the second rank is A2 with a value of 198.75 and the third rank is A4 with a value of 178.75.

The purpose of this article is to show how, from the global quarantine imposed as a consequence of the COVID19 pandemic, an on-line tutorship methodology was generated. This not only enables the simultaneous interaction of a group of PhD thesis students with the director-tutor but also promotes the exchange, acquisition and collective building of knowledge that the writing a doctoral thesis requires.

How can blended learning contribute to the development of dairy professionals within the global dairy sector?

This research focuses on the goal to determine the effect of blended learning in the global dairy sector and to what extent this method has an added value. It was carried out by a 4th-year thesis student from the Animal Husbandry study at the Van Hall Larenstein University in the Netherlands. This research is substantiated by information gathered while participating in creating blended learning modules with Triple Dairy, through literature research, interviews with ten stakeholders in the transfer of knowledge, and two different surveys with Dutch farmers and African trainers of the EARNED project. The research goal is to determine how blended learning is most effective in the global dairy sector and what added value this method has. This research aims to deliver a report, article, and consultation that clarifies how blended learning can contribute to the development of dairy professionals in the global dairy sector.

The contribution of Feedback Contents to the Development of Student Thesis

This paper aims to investigate feedback content in order to improve the development of the student thesis. This case study used a qualitative design that used multiple data collected from nine participants (six supervisors and three supervisees). Data were obtained from the textual evidence of the student thesis drafts and in-depth interviews with nine participants. The data were analyzed by labeling, categorizing and comparing similarities and differences in order to discover patterns and identify meanings. The results show that corrective feedback on the writing mechanism makes less contribution to improving student thesis. Feedback of praise and criticism does not make a contribution to improving student thesis. Specific, descriptive and suggestive feedback on the concept and order of ideas indicates a significant improvement in the development of the student thesis. The paper concludes that the feedback received from the supervisors determines responses to improve the quality of the student thesis.

Urgensi Layanan Penelusuran Untuk Mahasiswa Skripsi Di Perpustakaan Perguruan Tinggi

The Final Student (S1 level) of UIN Saifuddin Zuhri, has the final assignment in research /thesis. The academic library provides services related to student information about thesis assignments. This research aims to find out the views of students in semester seven and above about the importance of special library services for final-level students—research methods through descriptive qualitative approaches, with data retrieval through interviews and documents. This research will be interviews conducted in two stages; first, in Five students researching their thesis and students who have just graduated; Second, the question is open to 99 students in semester seven and above. The results showed that the first stage, information retrieval service as a unique service for thesis students, is very needed. However, some students do not encounter obstacles in completing their thesis but still consider if information retrieval service is necessary. The second stage, open question answers to 99 students, showed that special services for thesis students were indispensable. Student complaints include difficulty finding referrals and a lack of knowledge about compiling a good thesis. In conclusion, the college library has demanded that final-level students hold special services for thesis students. The services provided should be with sufficient officers, in this case, adjusted to the number of students who are thesis.

Critical assessment of initiatives in community college international education

AbstractIn the 1947 Truman Commission, Zook noted a validation of international education for US community colleges and specified two recommendations for the internationalization of US community colleges. The first recommendation was to embrace internationalization in the curriculum, and the second was to create an educational context in which students could gain an international understanding. This article critically assesses the extent to which US community colleges have met Zook's (1947) recommendations. The findings show that internationalization practices are supported by US community college leadership over time, are found in American Association of Community Colleges policies, are the subject of graduate student dissertations, and are the subject of research since the 1960s. The article concludes with a comprehensive set of recommendations for community colleges to support future actionable international agendas intended to serve the next generation of community colleges and their students.

Based on the preliminary survey that had been done toward fifteen English thesis abstracts of post graduate students, it was found a lot of mistakes in the writing (tenses). This research aims at identifying the use of tenses/grammar in English thesis abstracts. The type of this research is descriptive through documentation study approach. The population was all English thesis abstracts at post graduate program Jakarta Islamic University. The sampling was purposive sampling. The data were analyzed descriptively. The results of the research showed that the inappropriate use of tense was more than that of theappropriate one in the part of background; the inappropriate use of tense was more than that of the appropriate one in the part of research method; the inappropriate use of tense was more than that of the appropriate one in the part of result (findings); the appropriate use of tense was more than that of the inappropriate one in the part of discussion; and the appropriate use of tense was more than that of the inappropriate one in the part of conclusion and suggestion

Examining Student Mentorship Experiences in an Online Doctoral Program

As more students elect to complete their doctoral studies online, faculty need to identify and implement mentorship approaches that are conducive to student understanding of the dissertation process. Faculty to mentee relationships are a prominent aspect of student retention and success in doctoral programs. Due to advances in technology, dissertation chairs have access to tools that allow for real-time feedback and support. Therefore, this study examined student dissertation and faculty mentorship experiences. Participants expressed satisfaction in their doctoral studies and dissertation process. However, students shared challenges associated with balancing multiple commitments, feeling lower levels of writing self-confidence, and understanding the dissertation process and expectations. These findings provide additional support on the importance of developing and maintaining positive online doctoral experiences.
