Predicting Innovative Academic Behavior of Students based on Thinking Skills, Teamwork Skills and Problem Solving Abilities

Introduction: According to the policy of entrepreneurship of universities and students, creativity and innovative behavior in students not only can be effective in the development of the university environment, but also, making students become entrepreneurs and creating employment. In fact, it can be said that in the current changing and knowledge- oriented environment, only innovative students can respond to the needs of the labor market in a given time. Therefore, the aim of this research was to predict students' innovative academic behavior based on thinking skills, teamwork skills and problem solving abilities. Method: This is a cross- sectional and correlation study. Statistical population consisted of all students in university of Kashan in academic year 2022-2023 (N=7873) that by using Morgan table and stratified random sampling 380 ones, selected as sample. The research tools were four questionnaires of innovative behavior, thinking skills, teamwork and problem solving strategy. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics level through SPSS & Smart PLS. Results: The findings showed that the mean of innovative behavior (3.34±0.73), thinking skills (3.6±0.53) and teamwork (3.55±0.61) were higher than average. Also, the mean component of confidence in solving problems (47.49±6.16) is higher than the criterion score and the average components of avoidance tendency (52.98±10.64) and personal control (13.92±4.54) are lower than criterion score. The path coefficients showed that thinking skills (Beta=0.195, P=0.003) and teamwork (Beta=0.377, P=0.001) have a positive & significant effect on students' innovative behavior but problem solving ability (Beta=0.061, P=0.08) has no significant effect on students' innovative behavior. Conclusion: The results of this research showed that students' innovative behavior is affected by thinking and teamwork skills. Confirming the relationship between thinking skills and teamwork with students' innovative behavior and identifying the dimension or dimensions of thinking skills and teamwork that has the most relationship with students' innovative behavior will help the officials and practitioners of the educational system to consider the development of thinking skills and teamwork provide the grounds for the development of creativity and innovative behavior in students.

The development of articulate storyline interactive learning media based on case methods to train student's problem-solving ability

The phenomenon of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 currently emphasizes rapid technological advances. There is a need for innovation in technology development to package the current learning process more effectively, one of which is the development of learning media which is an important part of the learning process and is certainly directed at meaningful learning that encourages students to develop 21st Century skills as an urgency in the field of education. This study aims to 1) Develop interactive learning media with an articulate storyline based on a case method on cellular respiration material. 2) Look at students' responses to the interactive learning media articulate storyline based on the case method on cellular respiration material in training students' problem-solving skills. This research is a Research and Development (R & D). The development model in this study uses the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model, this research was carried out until the Development stage. The instruments used in this study were an open questionnaire sheet, material aspect validation sheet, media aspect validation sheet and pedagogic aspect validation sheet. The analytical technique used is descriptive qualitative analysis technique and quantitative analysis by finding the average score obtained from the validator's assessment and looking at the criteria. The results of this study obtained a very valid interactive learning media with a score of 3.9 material expert validators in the very valid category, 3.69 media expert validators in the very valid category, pedagogical expert validators of 3.47 in the valid category. It can be concluded that the articulate storyline interactive learning media based on the case method developed can improve students' problem-solving abilities.

How does PBL Brainwriting Method Supplemented with Concept Mapping Effective to Improve Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Ability?

This study aims to; 1) Determine the effectiveness of PBL brainwriting method supplemented with the concept on improving students' critical thinking skills; 2) Determine the effectiveness of PBL with brainwriting method supplemented with concept mapping on improving students' problem solving; 3) Determine the effectiveness of PBL brainwriting method supplemented with concept mapping on improving students' critical thinking and problem solving skill simultaneously; and 4) To determine the relationship between critical thinking and problem solving. This type of research is a quasi experiment, sampling using a cluster sampling technique. The instruments of this study used test questions on critical thinking ability and problem solving ability. The results of the study with the MANOVA test showed that there was a significant simultaneous effects PBL model of the brainwriting method supplemented with concept mapping on critical thinking and problem solving skills, the PBL model of the brainwriting method supplemented with concept mapping is effective in improving students' problem solving skills, the PBL model of the brainwriting method supplemented with concept mapping is effective in improving students' problem solving skills, and here is a correlation between critical thinking and problem solving skills.

The Effectiveness of Multimodel-Based Physics Modules on Students’ Problem-Solving Ability

Student problem-solving abilities refer to students' ability to identify problems, analyze problems, develop, and implement these solutions effectively. But in fact, this ability rarely gets attention in school. This study aimed to describe the effectiveness of the multimodel-based physics module on students' problem-solving abilities. This module was developed using Flip PDF Professional with the ADDIE development model and implemented in 34 students of class X MIPA at a high school in Banjarbaru. Data collection instruments were obtained from student learning outcomes based on problem-solving indicators. The results showed an increase in students' problem-solving abilities; this was based on the acquisition of a mean pre-test score of 4.63 in the very poor category to a post-test average score of 52.68 in the sufficient category and supported by an n-gain of 0.50 in the moderate category. Thus, it can be concluded that the multimodel-based physics module developed is classified as effective in improving students' problem-solving abilities.

PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE THINK TALK WRITE TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS PESERTA DIDIK KELAS VIII

Problem solving ability is one of the goals of mathematics learning. However, activities learning are not optimal in facilitating students to improve their problem-solving ability. The test result show that the problem-solving ability was still low. One solution to overcome this is Think Talk Write cooperative learning model. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Think Talk Write cooperatif learning model on the mathematical problem-solving ability of the VIII. This type of research was a quasi-experiment design with a non-equivalent posttest only group design. The population was all students of class VIII. Sampling was done by random sampling of class VIII.3 as the experimental class and VIII.2 as the control class. The instrument of this research is in the form of a problem-solving ability test. Based on the result of data analysis obtained P-value where P-value . It can be concluded that the problem-solving ability of students who study with the Think Talk Write cooperative learning model is better than students who learn with the direct learning model in class VIII SMPN 7 Padang. PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM BASED LEARNING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS PESERTA DIDIK KELAS VIII

Problem solving ability was one of learning mathematics goals goals that have to achieved by students. However, in the real skills of mathematical problem solving by students in schools are still lack. One solution to finish these problems was to use the model of Problem Based Learning. The ultimate goal of this research was to find out whether the skill of mathematical problem solving of students who studied with the Problem Based Learning model were more good than students who studied with the model learning in Direct for class VIII MTsN 1 Padangsidimpuan. The research type used was nonequivalent posttest-only control group design. The research population were students of class VIII at MTsN 1 Padangsidimpuan. Sampling was carried out using non-random sampling (non-random sample) with purposive sampling technique by assigning class VIII 1 as the group for experimental and VIII 2 as the group for control. Based on the analysis of Problem Solving Ability test data, P-value = 0.00 is obtained with a level in significant (α = 0.05), because the P-value , then is rejected. The conclusion obtained is that students who learn with the model of Problem Based Learning was more good than those who learn with the model of learning in direct for class VIII MTsN 1 Padangsidimpuan.Keywords - Problem Based Learning, Mathematical Problem Solving Ability

Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dengan Berbantuan Media Quizizz untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematika Siswa SMP Swasta R.A Kartini Tebing Tinggi

The purpose of this study was to improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities by using the problem-based learning model with the help of Quizizz media in class VII of RA Kartini Tebing Tinggi Private Middle School, 2022/2023 academic year. The subjects in this study were 30 grade VII students of Private Middle School R.A Kartini Tebing Tinggi. Data collection techniques used by researchers are teacher and student observation sheets to test students' mathematical problem solving abilities and documentation. This research is a classroom action research which consists of 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of 2 meetings. Before carrying out the action, an initial ability test is first given and at the end of each cycle a student's problem-solving ability test is given. The test results of students' mathematical problem solving abilities increased from the initial test cycle I and cycle II. In the classical pre-test, 3 students (10%) passed and the average pre-test ability was 46.39 with a very low level of ability. In the first cycle test experienced an increase classically obtained 16 students (53.33%) completed and the average ability was obtained 69.44 with the level of ability in the sufficient category. Then in cycle II there was also an increase classically, 27 students (90%) completed and the average ability was obtained 86.67 with a very good level of ability. Thus it can be concluded that the application of the problem-based learning model with the help of Quizizz media can improve the mathematical problem-solving abilities of class VII students of Private Middle School R.A Kartini Tebing Tinggi.

Effects of Priming on Problem Solving in Medical and Paramedical Students: A Study.

This study aimed to evaluate the impact of priming on an individual's problem-solving ability, investigate the existence and direction of the relationship, and examine whether gender differences influence the extent of priming. A sample of 625 undergraduate medical and paramedical students was randomly assigned to either a positive or negative priming group. Data was collected through online forms using Ditloid puzzles, which assess a person's linguistic and word-forming (verbal) ability. The results showed a statistically significant difference between the positively primed group, which had a higher number of correctly answered questions, and the negatively primed group. Additionally, females outperformed males in the number of correctly answered questions, but the extent of priming was similar for both genders, with no significant difference between them.

Effectiveness of a Brief Engagement, Problem-Solving, and Triage Strategy for High School Students: Results of a Randomized Study

Schools offer an advantageous setting for the prevention, early identification, and treatment of mental health problems for youth. However, school mental health (SMH) services are typically not based on evidence for effectiveness, nor are they efficiently delivered, with SMH practitioners (SMHPs) able to only treat a small number of students in need. The current study evaluated the feasibility, acceptability, efficiency, and outcomes of a four-session assessment, engagement, problem-solving, and triage strategy for SMHPs that aimed to improve efficiency while being based on elements of evidence-based care. The study, conducted in 15 US school districts in three states, used stratified random assignment to assign 49 high schools and their participating SMHP(s) to either the Brief Intervention for School Clinicians (BRISC; N = 259 students) or services as usual (SAU; N = 198 students). SMHPs implemented BRISC elements with adequate to excellent fidelity and reported the strategy was feasible and well-aligned with presenting problems. Students assigned to BRISC reported significantly greater engagement in SMH at 2 months and completion of SMH treatment by 6 months. BRISC-assigned SMHPs reported significantly greater treatment completion after four sessions (53.4%) compared to SAU (15.4%). Students in the BRISC condition also reported significantly greater reduction in problem severity as evaluated by the Youth Top Problems Assessment. No differences were found for anxiety or depression symptoms or overall functioning. Results indicate that BRISC is a feasible early intervention and triage strategy that may aid in more efficient provision of SMH services with no compromise to SMH effectiveness.

The relationship of personal qualities and universal skills for successful career building for students of psychological and pedagogical areas of training at the university

The research is devoted to the study and description of the features of the severity of universal skills for successful career building and their relationship with the personal qualities of students of psychological and pedagogical areas of study at the university. The study involved 107 students of psychological and pedagogical areas of training at the university. Research methods: the author's questionnaire for assessing the frequency of manifestation in the behavior of ten universal skills for successful career building and psychological testing of students' personal qualities. Statistical processing was carried out using descriptive statistics, two-stage cluster, correlation and multivariate analyzes of variance using the SPSS Statistics 26.00 software package. As a result of the study, it was found that the skills of managing emotions and stress, flexibility, adaptability, self-presentation and conflict management are expressed at an average level among students of psychological and pedagogical areas of study at the university. Statistically significant differences in the severity of self-presentation skills, problem solving and conflict management among students of different courses were established. The greater severity of the skills of managing emotions and stress, self-presentation, leadership and problem solving in psychology students was determined. The development of individual psychological universal skills among students of psychological and pedagogical areas of study at a university is more associated with the development of emotional stability and self-control, the use of optimal coping strategies, and socio-psychological skills - with the development of extroversion, communication and leadership abilities, emotional stability and self-control.

Design and development of critical thinking learning strategy in integral calculus

<p>Difficulty in understanding problem solving is due to the absence of critical thinking. Students lack knowledge in assessing critical thinking during problem solving. Hence, there is a need to study critical thinking infused through a learning strategy to enhance problem solving. Critical thinking (CThink) is a learning strategy designed which combines critical thinking and Integral Calculus. The development process of CThink combines the critical thinking process and questioning for critical thinking using the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE) model. In the learning strategy, questions were applied based on CThink processes which consist of interpretation, analysis, inference, evaluation, explanation, and self-regulation. Besides, different questioning for CThink is presented based on the critical thinking process. CThink has achieved a content validity of 94.12% with a coefficient value of 0.94, and the value is above 70% or 0.70. Based on the result, the contents in the CThink are considered of good validity. From the calculation of the percentage from the expert given score, CThink has achieved the validity measurement for the language of 97.50% with a coefficient value of validity is 0.975, which is above 70 or 0.70. Based on the result, the activities and syllabus used in CThink achieved good validity measurements. The experts concluded that this CThink meets the content of Integral Calculus, in line with the level of polytechnic students, allowing students to think critically to solve problems as well as activities in CThink help to enhance student problem solving.</p>

Influence of Inquiry Learning on Concept Mastery Ability and Physics Problem Solving Ability of Students on Work and Energy Material

The aim of the study was to determine differences in students' concept mastery abilities and students' problem solving abilities in the material of effort and energy using inquiry learning with students who learned using conventional learning as well as the correlation between concept mastery abilities and students' energy and effort problem solving abilities. This research is a quantitative research with a Quasi Experiment research design and the research design is a nonequivalent control group design. This study involved an experimental class that used the Inquiry learning model with learning stages according to the Inquiry learning model syntax and a control class that used conventional learning with learning stages according to the learning model used by the teacher when teaching. Taking the research sample using random sampling technique. The data collection instrument used tests with physics concept mastery skill instruments in the form of 10 multiple choice questions and 5 physics problem solving questions in the form of description questions. The test data were obtained through the pretest and posttest which were then subjected to prerequisite tests. The prerequisite test results stated that the data were normally distributed, homogeneous, and the test was linear. The data that has passed the prerequisite test is then used to test the hypothesis using Ancova. The results of the data analysis test showed that there were significant differences in students' concept mastery and problem-solving abilities between classes using Inquiry learning and classes using conventional learning. In addition, the results of the research data analysis show that there is a correlation between the ability to master the concept and the ability to solve problems, which means there is a relationship between the ability to master the concept and the ability to solve problems. The conclusion of the research shows that inquiry learning on work and energy materials can improve students' concept mastery and problem-solving abilities

LITERATUR STUDY OF STUDENTS MATHEMATICAL PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITIES ON HIGHER ORDER THINKING SKILL QUESTIONS FROM VARIOUS LEARNING MODELS

This study aims to determine the results of a literature study on students' mathematical problem solving abilities on higher order thinking skill (HOTS) questions from various learning models. Students' problem solving abilities in identifying elements that are known or needed in solving mathematical problems, formulating mathematical problems, selecting problem solving, and re-examining problem solving to then make solutions in other ways or develop student problem solving when students are faced with math problem. High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) is a thinking process of students at a higher cognitive level that is developed from various cognitive concepts and methods and learning taxonomies such as problem solving methods, bloom taxonomies, and learning, teaching, and assessment taxonomies. Based on the results of the analysis of the results of the study, it was concluded that students' mathematical problem solving abilities could be improved by applying problem based learning and discovery learning models. And the learning model that is better used is the Problem Based Learning.

Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis Siswa: Quasi Experimental melalui Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Instruction (PBI) di SD Negeri Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir

This research started with the problem of the low mathematical problem-solving ability of fourth grade students at SDN 004 Sungai Salak. This can be seen in the results of tests of mathematical problemsolving abilities obtained by students, the results of observations and interviews with teachers. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the Problem Based Instruction model on the mathematical problemsolving abilities of fourth grade students at SDN 004 Sungai Salak and to determine the students' mathematical problemsolving abilities after being taught with the Problem Based Instruction model. The type of research used is quasi-experimental research with The Time Series Experiment. The population in this study were all fourthgrade students at SDN 004 Sungai Salak, which totaled 21 people and consisted of 1 class. The sampling technique is a saturated sample because the population is less than 30 people. The data collection technique in this study used a mathematical problemsolving ability test. Data analysis technique used in this study, namely the t-test. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the mathematical problemsolving ability of students who take part in learning using the Problem Based Instruction model is higher than students who take part in conventional learning.

학습자 중심 소그룹 학습을 활용한 문제 해결력 향상 수업 운영 방안 연구

This study is a study on the operation method of programming class method to improve problem-solving ability. Software education needs a way to improve communication skills, creativity, cooperation, and problem-solving skills to recognize and solve complex problems. In this study, classes were conducted in parallel with small group learning and individual learning to improve problem-solving skills. Through small group activities, classes were conducted to facilitate problem analysis, problem design, and algorithm writing through communication with team members, and to improve grammatical understanding and thinking skills of C language code through individual learning. As a result of the survey conducted after the class, it was found that the problem-solving ability of students who actively participated in learner-centered small group activities improved, and as a result, it also affected their grades.

Electronic Worksheet-Based Problem Based-Learning (PBL) Toward Problem-Solving in Science Education: Need Analysis

Both teachers and students require teaching materials to assist learning. This is necessary for students to understand the course and will greatly aid understanding, Problem-solving skills are very important for students, but students feel inadequate in problem-solving skills, so there is a need for teaching materials that contain Problem-Based Learning. This study aims to analyze the need for teaching materials, especially student worksheets based on Problem-Based Learning to improve student problem-solving. This research is qualitative and quantitative. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 14 Yogyakarta. Research data were collected using a questionnaire containing 16 questions, interviews, and observations. The methods for data analysis Techniques for analyzing data include using qualitative methods to examine how curriculum, student characteristics, and learning resources are used and presenting the results in forms that may be used for descriptive statistics, such as graphs and standard tables. The results showed that: Based on interviews, questionnaires, and observations on teaching materials, student characteristics, and the curriculum used. It can be said that, on average, 79.8% of students need additional electronic-based teaching materials on the topic of additives and addictive substances, and the unavailability of teaching materials in the form of electronic worksheets based on problem-based learning.

KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MAHASISWA PADA APLIKASI TURUNAN (MAKSIMUM DAN MINIMUM) BERBANTUAN GEOGEBRA

Students' problem solving skills are still severely lacking, especially in derivative application materials (maximum and minimum). The purpose of this study is to find out how students' problem solving skills in derivative applications (maximum and minimum) are geogebra-assisted. The method used in this study is qualitative research method, with the focus of the research is the problem solving ability of students in derivative applications (maximum and minimum) assisted by geogebra. The subjects in this study were students of STKIP Kusuma Negara Jakarta who had attended the course or who were following the calculus I course, namely there were 6 students with purposive sampling techniques. The instrument in this study is the researchers themselves, tests to measure problem solving skills and interview guidelines. Data collection techniques are conducted with interviews, obsrevation and documentation. Data analysis techniques performed with data reduction steps, data display, data interpretation, conclusion drawing/verification. Presentation of data The results of the study showed that there is an improvement in student learning outcomes with the existence of mathematical modeling, especially in students with moderate and low problem solving skills, where students have been able to meet four indicators of problem solving, because students still need help in turning problems in problems into mathematical forms. And students with low problem solving skills only meet two problem solving indicators, because students must strive to understand the problems contained in the problem, then need to be directed in order to turn the problem into a form of mathematics

The Impact of GeoGebra on Algebraic Modeling Problem-Solving in Moroccan Middle School Students

The purpose of this research is to study the effectiveness of the process of modeling with GeoGebra in the development of algebraic modeling skills and to measure the impact of this program on students' interest in solving extra-mathematical and intra-mathematical problems. To achieve these objectives, we used the quasi-experimental design, where the research sample is composed of 56 students (aged 13–14 years old). The methodology consists of comparing the modeling process between an experimental group using the GeoGebra environment and a control group in the traditional environment. The results show a statistically significant difference in the students' average scores between the two groups. Generally, the experimental group that adopted GeoGebra scored higher than the other group. Interest in solving algebraic problems was higher for the experimental group. On the contrary, for the control group, students' interest in extra-mathematical problems was lower than their interest in intra-mathematical problems. On the other hand, there was no difference in the experimental group.

HUBUNGAN KEMAMPUAN LITERASI SAINS DENGAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH IPA SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between scientific literacy skills and science problemsolving for fourth grade students of Sukatani IV public elementary school, Tangerang Regency, using correlationalquantitative research methods, with 56 research subjects for fourth grade students. The test instrument used scientificliteracy skills essay questions (X). which consists of 10 questions, and science problem solving essay questions (Y)totaling 10 questions. The results showed that there was a positive relationship between scientific literacy skills andscience problem solving, which was 0.94 with a regression equation Y=18.65 + 1.09 X and a determination coefficient of0.97%, this means that scientific literacy skills have contribution of 94.04% to problem solving ability.
