THE TEACHERS' PERCEPTION OF THE RELIGIOUS EDUCATION COMPONENT TO REDUCE VIOLENCE IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS

This study addressed teachers' perceptions regarding Religious Education and its impact on reducing violence in public schools. The main goal was to identify and analyze educators' perceptions of Religious Education and its correlation with the reduction of school violence incidents. The methodology consisted of a literature review, involving a critical analysis of sources related to the topic. Results indicated that educators recognize the importance of Religious Education in ethical and moral development of students and in promoting a respectful school environment. Effective pedagogical strategies in Religious Education, such as fostering inter-religious dialogue, were identified as key to preventing school violence. The final considerations emphasized the need for an educational approach that respects diversity and promotes inclusion, highlighting the importante role of well-prepared educators in this process. The study concluded that when properly implemented, Religious Education can significantly contribute to reducing violence in schools.

DETERMINANTS OF PARENTAL SCHOOL CHOICE: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE

The study examined determinants of parental school choice internationally aiming to identify research gaps and providing suggestions for researchers. Articles published between 2000 and 2023 were searched from 9 databases and a total of 30 articles were included in the review. The result showed that parental school choice is critically affected by parent-related factors like parents’ education, income, family size, and education level of the children, and the school-related factors: quality of education, performance of teachers, school facilities, school cost, parent-teacher relationship, and school curriculums are the major ones. The safety/security related and children’s educational achievement is found slightly affecting factor on parental school choice. The research design of reviewed articles is found descriptive research although the explanatory research design was appropriate as it supports better. The study also identified factors for developing and developed countries are different. For developing countries socio-economy, income, family education, cost, curriculum, technology, proximity to home, number of children, and age of the child are the major ones. For developed countries: school quality, teacher performance, special programs, playground, training teachers, library service, student moral development, school performance, environment, school ranking, interaction with parents, discipline, curriculum structure, knowledge, result, and communication skills are paid attention for parental school choice decisions.

Five Programs to Improve Student’s Understanding of Religious Teaching at Islamic Educational Institutions

This research aims to determine the implementation of the program used in developing morals for students of Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah al-Jami'ah Indonesian Da'wah Academy Aqabah Bukittinggi, evaluating the program used in developing morals for students of Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Al-Jami'ah Indonesian Da'wah Academy Aqabah Bukittinggi and for inhibiting and supporting factors in implementing the moral development program for students at Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah al-Jami'ah Indonesian Da'wah Academy Aqabah Bukittinggi. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques: observation, interviews and documentation. After all the data was collected, the author carried out classification, editing, and adjustments to the character and type of each data, then filtered it into a final conclusion. Based on the results of research conducted by the author, show that the Moral Development Program for students at Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah al-Jami'ah Indonesian Da'wah Academy Aqabah Bukittinggi can be seen from various aspects, namely: implementation of the student moral development program, namely the main program and supporting programs. The main program is a weekly study program carried out in the dormitory. Then the supporting programs are the muhadhatsah, muhadharoh, tahsin, tahfizh and lailatul Quran programs. All programs aim to ensure that students have good manners or good morals.

The Impact of Technology Use in Teaching and Understanding Religious Values on Students' Moral Development in Islamic Schools in Indonesia

This study investigates the impact of technology in teaching and the understanding of religious values on the moral development of students in Islamic schools in Indonesia. A quantitative analysis using Structural Equation Modelling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) was employed to examine the relationships among these key variables. The study's questionnaire demonstrated strong validity and reliability. Discriminant validity confirmed the distinctiveness of the constructs. Hypothesis tests revealed significant positive relationships between Religious Values and Students' Moral Development and between Technology Use in Teaching and Students' Moral Development. These results underscore the critical role of both religious values and technology-enhanced teaching methods in shaping the moral character of students. The findings provide valuable insights for educators and policymakers in Islamic schools, emphasizing the potential of technology in religious education without compromising moral development.

Pengaruh hidden curriculum dalam Pembentukan karakter Religius peserta didik di SMK Islam Lukman Al Hakim Kabupaten Bogor

In an era of increasingly advanced technology, more and more information is easily accessible to students, so that students in schools, especially vocational schools, experience many difficulties in forming religious characteristics. Seeing the phenomenon of degradation that occurs in education in Indonesia today, it is necessary to take the role of an appropriate education curriculum in order to overcome these problems.The focus of the problem in this study is the effect of implementing the hidden curriculum in the formation of the religious character of students in SMK. Researchers limit the problems that will be the object of research at SMK Islam Lukman Al Hakim. This study aims to determine the implementation of the hidden curriculum at SMK Islam Lukman Al Hakim. The approach used in this research is filed research. Researchers searched for data based on interviews, questionnaires, and reviewed documents and FGDs related to the research focus. Data analysis was performed using descriptive analysis and triangulation methods.The results found by the researcher were that the effect of the implementation of hidden curriculum activities at SMK Islam Lukman Al Hakim had a positive influence on the formation of the religious character of students. Hidden curriculum is a driving force to achieve national education goals. The form of hidden curriculum activities in the formation of religious character which is carried out in SMK is an activity of habituation, exemplary and advice and motivation given by teachers to students. This becomes the basis for formulating the concept of hidden curriculum in the moral development of students in junior high schools, among others, by mapping the moral problems of students in junior high schools, making policies, making strategies, planning activities and conducting ongoing evaluations

PENTINGNYA PEMBELAJARAN TATA CARA SHALAT DAN THAHARAH MELIPUTI WUDHU, TAYAMMUM DAN MANDI WAJIB: STUDI FENOMENIAL PESERTA DIDIK

Knowledge and understanding of prayer and thaharah which includes Wudhu, Tayammum and obligatory bathing are important aspects in religious learning material in junior high schools (SMP). This discussion is about the importance of learning prayer and thaharah which includes ablution, tayammum and obligatory bathing as part of the implementation of religious education courses. Learning prayer and thaharah which includes obligatory ablution, tayammum and bathing at school not only ensures students' correct and consistent understanding of Islamic worship practices, but can also help in forming students' character and moral values. This also highlights the positive impact of this learning integration, such as increasing religious awareness, strengthening students' religious identity. Therefore, learning prayer and thaharah which includes ablution, tayammum and obligatory bathing for students has significant suitability in supporting the spiritual and moral development of students.

Effects of Online Learning on Student Moral Development: A Meta-analysis Based on 42 Experimental and Quasi-experimental Studies

The widespread practices of online learning have sparked increasing interest in its educational efficacy. The effects of online learning on learners’ moral development remain contentious in existing research. The purpose of this meta-analysis was to ascertain how online leaning impact students’ moral development. It included 42 experimental and quasi-experimental studies with an aggregate sample of 5303 learners after the processes of literature screening, data extraction, and risk of bias assessment. Analytical results revealed that online learning had positive effects on student moral understanding and reasoning, but no significant impact on student moral emotions and behavior. Subgroup analyses by student type, course type, online learning pattern, and involvement of interactive activity showed that there were disparities in the effect size between all subgroups and that only the moderating effect of student type on student moral reasoning was statistically significant.

Problematika Guru Pendidikan Agama Islam dalam Pembinaan Akhlak Siswa SD Negeri 18 Kota Padang

Every activity or action carried out by humans must find various problems in it, including problems in the moral development of students in elementary schools. The purpose of this study was to find out how the problems of PAI teachers are in fostering morals in elementary school students. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. researchers conducted research at SD Negeri 18 Padang City. Sources of data were taken through direct interviews with three informants. The informants consisted of school principals, PAI teachers and class teachers. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. All interview results were analyzed thematically using the Miles and Huberman technique. While testing the validity of the data using a credibility test with increased persistence and triangulation. The research findings found that the problems in fostering student morals in elementary schools came from external and internal factors. Problems that arise due to external factors are the family environment and social environment. Problems that arise due to internal factors are the lack of PAI teachers in teaching religious knowledge and instilling noble moral values in students. Not only that, there are still teachers who break the rules, such as arriving late and speaking in a high tone.

In Imam Al-Ghazali's view, students have their own potentials to achieve moral and spiritual perfection and the role of educators is one that is very important and influential in helping them achieve this goal, educators basically must focus on the spiritual and moral development of students. In this journal, we describe Al-Ghazali's views on the potential of students, spiritual and moral development, as well as educational strategies that can be taken from the perspective of Imam Al-Ghazali. This research was conducted using qualitative methods, namely by analyzing and collecting and using literature studies. Learners are people who are experiencing a period of growth and development, especially physically and mentally. Imam Al-Ghazali's perspective on students and Islamic education is still relevant and can certainly be applied in the context of modern education. This can help educators to develop educational strategies that are holistic and focus on the spiritual and moral development of students.

The Importance of Kyai Charismatic Leadership in the Formation of Akhlakul Karimah

The goal of this research is to examine the role of charismatic kyai leadership in the moral development of students at Al Ishlah Islamic Boarding School. To investigate what factors, help and hinder the charismatic kyai's leadership in the moral formation of students at Al Ishlah Islamic Boarding School. This is a descriptive qualitative study. Data is gathered through interviews, observations, and documentation. Analysis data were done through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the kiai's role as a boarding school caretaker, example, parents, leader, and motivator. Characters formed include students who care about the environment, discipline, responsibility, independence, religion, and hard work. The existence of good management performance, the involvement of the Islamic Boarding School family, and the support of the community and government in the Islamic Boarding School are all supporting factors. Inhibiting factors include a lack of belonging to Islamic boarding schools' facilities and infrastructure, a lack of parental understanding of Islamic boarding school regulations, and the influence of children outside the boarding school.

Efektivitas Home Visit dalam Pembinaan Akhlak Siswa Madarasah Ibtidaiyah

A home visiting is a program in the guidance and counseling service that is implemented at MI Raudhatul Jannah Martapura, to visit students' houses for completing the data, moral education, and to solve students’ problems in learning. The purposes of the study were (1) to find out the implementation of the home visiting at MI Raudhatul Jannah Martapura, (2) to find out student moral after the home visiting at MI Raudhatul Jannah Martapura, and (3) to know the effectiveness of the home visiting in student moral development at MI Raudhatul Jannah Martapura. The population in this study was 47 students, with a purposive sampling technique of 25 students in 8 and 9 grades. The data collection technique used questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Then, data were analyzed with quantitative analysis techniques using the one-sample t-test. The results of this study showed that the effectiveness of home visiting at MI Raudhatul Jannah Martapura, based on the student moral is either "not same" high after the implementation of home visiting, which Ha rejected and Ho accepted. Based on the calculation of the results, there are 9 students in the high moral category, 14 students in the medium class, and 2 students in the low class. Because of the 25 students, there were 14 students or 56% in the category of moderate moral. Finally, the home visiting program was quite effective to use.

Islam is a religion that highly upholds noble character, and this is affirmed in the hadith of the Prophet Peace Be Upon Him (SAW), stating that the primary purpose of his being sent to the human race is to perfect commendable character. As critical intellectuals who are characteristic of academics, students need to commit to the teachings of religion (Islam) and morality, which, of course, are supported by policies implemented by the campus. This study discusses the procedures the Director of the Kolaka Nursing Academy carried out in Islamic Student Moral Development. This study aims to analyze the policies applied by the Kolaka Nursing Academy Director in the Islamic Student Moral Development, supporting and inhibiting factors in Islamic Moral Development students Kolaka Nursing Academy, Effective solutions to increase students' importance on the value of diversity on campus, and life daily. This type of research is qualitative with descriptive analysis. From this study, it was produced that the policy in developing the Islamic character of Kolaka Nursing Academy students was carried out through 3 (three) stages, namely, agenda setting. Second, the quality target program will be implemented as a manifestation of the policy implementation of the Kolaka Nursing Academy Director to foster students' Islamic behavior; third, supporting factors for the development of Islamic students will be evaluated, including environmental (campus and community) factors.

Kurikulum Merdeka dan Pengaruhnya pada Perkembangan Moral Anak SD : Sebuah Kajian Literatur

The Merdeka Curriculum can play an important role in the moral development of students. By giving students the freedom to manage the course of learning, this curriculum encourages students to become individuals who are responsible for their own learning. In the process, students can be invited to consider the moral consequences of the actions and decisions they take. They can learn to understand the impact of their actions on themselves, others, and the environment. The purpose of writing this article is to provide information about the independent curriculum and its influence on the moral development of elementary school children. The writing method is a literature review taken from various articles related to the discussion. Through a literature review, it was found that in the implementation of an independent curriculum, they can develop a wider moral awareness and become responsible and moral members of society.

Moral Development of Senior High School Students in Physics Learning Based on Traditional Game

Physics learning is carried out to develop students' cognitive, psychomotor, and morale. This phenomenological research aims to explore the moral development level of senior high school students in physics learning based on traditional games during Covid-19 pandemic. The research data were collected through in-depth interviews with eight physics teachers and eight senior high school students. The participants were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis uses analytic reduction which begins to identify important statements from interview results, determine core theme, and interpret interview results' essence. The research results found that physics learning in senior high schools during Covid-19 pandemic was integrated into traditional games. The student's moral development in physics learning-based on traditional games at second, third, fourth, and fifth levels. Moral development at the second, third, fourth and fifth levels sequentially is shown by the willingness to take part in physics lessons to move up grades, facilitate the application of physics concepts, explore abilities, and integrate physics learning into daily activities. It takes high-quality teachers and complete distance learning facilities so that students can optimize their moral development.

Kreativitas Guru Pendidikan Agama Islam Dalam Pembinaan Akhlak Siswa Di SMK Negeri 2 Jombang

Teacher creativity is one of the most important factors that can encourage students to be more active in learning. Student moral development is being able to distinguish between what is good and what is bad according to reason and the norms that exist in the environment where students are. The aims of this thesis are: (1) The form and process of creativity of Islamic religious education teachers at SMK Negeri 2 Jombang (2) How the morals of students at SMK Negeri 2 Jombang are. This research uses a qualitative approach. Methods of data collection is done through interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data display and verification. The results of the study showed that (1) the creative form of Islamic religious education teachers in developing student morals begins with a handshake, Duha prayer, greetings, tawassul and reading Juz amma one letter. The creative process of Islamic religious education teachers in fostering student morals at SMK Negeri 2 Jombang (a) Providing examples of good habits (b) Applying good attitudes or morals and implementing the formation of character in daily activities. (2) Student morals in SMK Negeri 2 Jombang. The method of fostering morals is (a) fostering student morals (b) habituation (c) daily motivation. The conclusion of this study is that the creativity of Islamic religious education teachers in fostering student morals at SMK Negeri 2 Jombang plays a positive role in changing the attitudes of their students. From this study it proves that many students' attitudes have changed for the better from several aspects such as morals to Allah SWT, morals towards teachers, morals towards parents, morals towards friends, morals towards themselves and morals towards the environment because of the role of Islamic Religious Education teachers.

Implementasi Ekstrakurikuler Rohani Islam Sekolah (Rohis) dalam Pembinaan Akhlak Peserta Didik

In the world of education, there is a decline in morals. One of the solutions made to improve the problem of moral decline in the world of education/schools is by implementing school Islamic spiritual extracurriculars (Rohis) in the moral development of students. The purpose of this study was to describe the planning, implementation, and evaluation in implementing school Islamic spiritual extracurriculars (Rohis) in the moral development of students. This research method is descriptive qualitative. In this study, it was found that planning was carried out by the school and spiritual coaches by holding Islamic programs that could foster the morals of students to become akhlakul karimah. The implementation of spiritual extracurriculars in the moral development of students carries out activities with Islamic nuances by establishing four departments namely regeneration, mupalla, syiar and women's affairs. In the evaluation using an approach with the indicator of akhlakul karimah which includes the first three things, morals towards Allah SWT. second, morals towards humans, and third, morals towards nature. The results of this study indicate that the programs implemented in these four departments are able to foster student morals in accordance with good morals.

PEMBINAAN AKHLAK SISWA PASCA COVID-19 MELALUI KEGIATAN EKSTRAKURIKULER ROHIS

This article's main problem is moral development for post-Covid-19 students through Spiritual activities at the MTsM Sulit Air, Solok Regency. This study aims to describe how post-Covid-19 student morals form through extracurricular activities at MTsM Sulit Air, Solok Regency. This study uses the phenomenological method to describe conditions or phenomena that occur in the field-data collection techniques used through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Data validity technique with triangulation. Research informants are madrasa heads, teachers, and students. The results showed that post-Covid-19 student moral development was carried out through extracurricular activities at MTsM Sulit Air through three activities, namely tahsin, tahfizh and muhadharah. In addition to developing students' talents, this activity can also lead students to improve their reading of the Qur'an, and memorize the Al-Qur'an according to the correct tajwid and makhraj. In addition, it also fosters student discipline in carrying out activities on time, responsible for assignments given by the teacher, humility when exceeding friends' memorization and confidence when studying the Qur'an, daring to appear lecturing in public, responsible for preaching conveyed correctly based on the Al-Qur'an or Hadith that has been studied.

IMPACT OF THE SUBJECT OF ISLAMIAT ON MORAL DEVELOPMENT OF PRIMARY STUDENTS: A CASE STUDY COMPARING PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOL

We are living in an Islamic country and in Islam education is mandatory for all Muslims. Islamiat is compulsory subject for students in Pakistan. Students are supposed to practice this subject in their daily life. The subject of Islamiat should develop a positive impact on student’s moral development. To know which of the students in private and public school is having a more positive impact of the subject of Islamiat, the researcher chose the topic “Impact of the subject of Islamiat on the Moral Development of primary students”. The main objectives of this study were; to compare the impact of the subject of Islamiat on the moral development of primary level students in public and private schools and finding out how much primary level students practice on it in their daily life. A sample of eighty students was drawn by using simple random sampling technique and teachers from two selected public and private schools. The data were collected by using three point liker scale questionnaire with twenty two items from students and three point liker scale questionnaire with five items from teachers. Descriptive statistics is used to analyze the data. This Research found that the subject of Islamiat has a more positive impact on private school student’s moral development as compare to public school students and conclude that the subject of Islamiat performs an important role on student’s moral development. It suggested that teachers and parents focus on the moral development of students. The moral development develops at an early age. Students become a better human being and play a positive role in society if they pick up impact of studying Islamiat. In public schools, particular attention should be given for the moral development of students.
