Enhanced Fill Factor and Efficiency of Ternary Organic Solar Cells by a New Asymmetric Non-Fullerene Small Molecule Acceptor.

Asymmetric non-fullerene small molecules acceptor (as-NF-SMAs) exhibit greater vitality in photovoltaic materials compared to their symmetric counterparts due to their larger dipole moments and stronger intermolecular interactions, which facilitate exciton dissociation and charge transmission in organic solar cells (OSCs). Here, we introduced a new as-NF-SMAs, named IDT-TNIC, as the third component in ternary organic solar cells (TOSCs). The asymmetric IDT-TNIC used indacenodithiophene (IDT) as the central core, alkylthio-thiophene as a unilateral π-bridge and extended end groups as electron-withdrawing. Due to the non-covalent conformational lock (NCL) established between O···S and S···S, the IDT-TNIC molecule preserves its coplanar structure effectively. Furthermore, IDT-TNIC exhibits complementary absorption and excellent compatibility with donor and acceptor materials, as well as optimized ladder energy level arrangement, resulting in a higher and more balanced μh/μe value, more homogeneous and suitable phase separation morphology in TOSCs. Thus, the PCE of the TOSCs reached 17% when the weight ratio of PM6:Y6:IDT-TNIC was 1:1.1:0.1, and it is noteworthy that when the device area was increased to 1 cm2, the PCE could still be maintained at over 14%. Detailed studies and analysis indicate that IDT-TNIC has great potential as a third component in OSCs and for large-scale printing in the future.

Exploration of formation and in vitro release mechanism of supramolecular self-assembled Licochalcone A eutectogel for food application

Licochalcone A (LCA) is extracted from licorice plants and used as a food additive. Citric acid (CA) and alanine (Ala) are food additives with good regulatory functions. This study aims to investigate the formation and in vitro release mechanism of the LCA eutectogel using supramolecular self-assembly technology. The mechanism of self-assembly indicates that the resulting eutectogel has strong intermolecular interactions. The formation mechanism of LCA eutectogel suggests that LCA is dispersed in nano form in the DES solution before self-assembly and dispersed in molecular form in the eutectogel after self-assembly. Mesoscopic MD simulation studies indicate that the interaction energy between LCA Ala-CA(5:5) eutectogel and the solvent interface is relatively low, suggesting it may have a better drug release rate, consistent with the in vitro release results. In conclusion, the study successfully prepares LCA eutectogel and provides theoretical guidance for the development and application of novel eutectogel for food application.

Structure-Dependent Water Responsiveness of Protein Block Copolymers.

Biological water-responsive (WR) materials are abundant in nature, and they are used as mechanical actuators for seed dispersal by many plants such as wheat awns and pinecones. WR biomaterials are of interest for applications as high-energy actuators, which can be useful in soft robotics or for capturing energy from natural water evaporation. Recent work on WR silk proteins has shown that β-sheet nanocrystalline domains with high stiffness correlate with the high WR actuation energy density, but the fundamental mechanisms to drive water responsiveness in proteins remain poorly understood. Here, we design, synthesize, and study protein block copolymers consisting of two α-helical domains derived from cartilage oligomeric matrix protein coiled-coil (C) flanking an elastin-like peptide domain (E), namely, CEC. We use these protein materials to create WR actuators with energy densities that outperform mammalian muscle. To elucidate the effect of structure on WR actuation, CEC was compared to a variant, CECL44A, in which a point mutation disrupts the α-helical structure of the C domain. Surprisingly, CECL44A outperformed CEC, showing higher energy density and less susceptibility to degradation after repeated cycling. We show that CECL44A exhibits a higher degree of intermolecular interactions and is stiffer than CEC at high relative humidity (RH), allowing for less energy dissipation during water responsiveness. These results suggest that strong intermolecular interactions and the resulting, relatively steady protein structure are important for water responsiveness.

The Peculiar H-Bonding Network of 4-Methylcatechol: A Coupled Diffraction and In Silico Study.

The crystal structure of 4-methylcatechol (4MEC) has, to date, never been solved, despite its very simple chemical formula C7O2H8 and the many possible applications envisaged for this molecule. In this work, this gap is filled and the structure of 4MEC is obtained by combining X-ray powder diffraction and first principle calculations to carefully locate hydrogen atoms. Two molecules are present in the asymmetric unit. Hirshfeld analysis confirmed the reliability of the solved structure, since the two molecules show rather different environments and H-bond interactions of different directionality and strength. The packing is characterised by a peculiar hydrogen bond network with hydroxyl nests formed by two adjacent octagonal frameworks. It is noteworthy that the observed short contacts suggest strong inter-molecular interactions, further confirmed by strong inter-crystalline aggregation observed by microscopic images, indicating the growth, in many crystallization attempts, of single aggregates taller than half a centimetre and, often, with spherical shapes. These peculiarities are induced by the presence of methyl group in 4MEC, since the parent compound catechol, despite its chemical similarity, shows a standard layered packing alternating hydrophobic and polar layers. Finally, the complexity and peculiarity of the packing and crystal growth features explain why a single crystal could not be obtained for a standard structural analysis.

Synchronous Regulation of Hydrophobic Molecular Architecture and Interface Engineering for Robust WORM‐Type Memristor

AbstractIn the context of human active response to exponentially increasing data volumes, memristors have emerged as a focal point in systematic problem‐solving approaches. Particularly, organic memristors, characterized by excellent scalability, flexibility, and 3D stacking capabilities, have shown its tremendous potential in innovative electronic applications. However, the modulation of molecular assembly and interface interaction at the electrode surface poses a challenging task, despite their crucial role in determining the memristive performance. Herein, a collaborative method involving hydrophobic molecular design and interface engineering is proposed to generate high‐quality nanofilms with optimal photoelectric and electrochemical properties. By subjecting the bottom electrode to O2 plasma treatment and chemical modification using a hydrophobic ionic liquid poly(diallyldimethylammonium) bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (PTFSI), the hydrophobic compound DN demonstrates exceptional affinity and stronger intermolecular interactions with the electrode surface. Consequently, the two‐terminal device array comprising Al/DN@PTFSI/ITO exhibits robust non‐volatile write‐once‐read‐many times (WORM) memory behavior, resulting in a tripling production yield from 30% to 92% along with a lower threshold voltage of 1.5 V, higher ON/OFF current ratio of 103 and excellent stability. This study presents a versatile approach to optimize the film assembly and material/electrode interface, thereby accelerating the development of organic memristors toward future applications.

Hydrated eutectic electrolyte promotes the preferential growth of Zn (0 0 2) plane and suppresses side reaction for high-stability zinc anodes

Using deep eutectic solvent (DES) electrolytes is an efficient way to suppress the Zn dendrite growth and the side reactions resulting from the high activity of H2O in aqueous zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs). However, most DESs consist of expensive/explosive zinc salts or flammable/toxic organic ligands, which hinders their practical application in ZIBs. Herein, a low-cost and high-safety hydrated eutectic electrolyte based on ZnCl2, urea, and a small amount of H2O is prepared. Due to the low content of H2O and the strong intermolecular interaction between urea and H2O, the activity of H2O is greatly restricted and therefore H2O-induced side reactions are improved. In addition, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy spectra and density functional theory calculations reveal that the adsorption of urea molecules on the zinc surface forms an organic protective layer, which can induce the preferential growth of the Zn (002) plane. As a result, with the optimal electrolyte, the Zn||Zn symmetric cell shows a long cyclic life of 1200 h, and the Zn||Cu half-cell delivers a high average Coulombic efficiency of 99.7 % for 2500 cycles. Meanwhile, the Zn||Bi2Te3 and Zn||polyaniline full cells with DES exhibit improved cycling performances compared to those using traditional ZnSO4 electrolyte. This work offers a new perspective to explore low-cost, non-toxic, and high-security DESs for ZIBs.

STUDYING THE EFFECT OF ADDING LIGNOSULFONATE STABILIZERS ON THE STRUCTURAL, THERMAL AND OPTICAL PROPERTIES OF POLYMERS POLYVINYL ALCOHOL

Composite films made from blends ofPolyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) and Lignosulfonate (LS) were prepared using the casting technique in this study.The aim was to investigate the impact of LS concentrations at (0, 0.01, 0.05, and 0.1 wt. %) on the optical, thermal, and structural properties of PVA.The composite films were examined using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and UV-VIS spectroscopy. Results showed that adding LS led to a more compact structural arrangement, increasing the refractive index and amorphous phase due to the composites disorder, which reduced the optical energy gap. The Absorbance of the PVA/LS composite film increased as LS concentration increased, indicating a strong intermolecular interaction between LS and PVA. This interaction suggested a strong hydrogen bond formation between the hydroxy group in PVA chains and the outer site groups of LS. These findings suggest that LS can effectively modulate the optical properties of PVA, making it useful in various fields such as optics and photonics.

Chiral Metal-Organic Frameworks with Spectroscopic Methods: Towards Chemical Sensor Devices.

Chiral Metal-Organic Frameworks (CMOFs) are a rapidly growing field reflecting their potential as selective and sensitive chemical sensors for chiral analytes. The highly tuneable nature of CMOFs enables the size, shape, and non-covalent interactions to be optimised towards specific analytes to engender strong intermolecular interactions and sensing responses. While CMOFs as chiral chemical sensor devices have been explored with electrochemical methods including differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), bipolar and chemiresistive sensing techniques, the CMOFs as chiral chemical sensors using spectroscopic methods has received significantly less attention. This review examines the synthesis of CMOFs for chemical sensors with spectroscopic methods such as photoluminescence, circular dichroism, and solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance with a view towards their incorporation into chemical sensor devices. Future directions of the field are highlighted for the generation of functional devices.

Selective Formation of Homochiral Dimers by Intermolecular Charge Transfer on a hBN Nanomesh.

In this study, a comprehensive characterization was conducted on a chiral starburst molecule (C57H48N4, SBM) using scanning tunneling microscopy. When adsorbed onto the hBN/Rh(111) nanomesh, these molecules demonstrate homochiral recognition, leading to a selective formation of homochiral dimers. Further tip manipulation experiments reveal that the chiral dimers are stable and primarily controlled by strong intermolecular interactions. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations supported that the chiral recognition of SBM molecules is governed by the intermolecular charge transfer mechanism, different from the common steric hindrance effect. This study emphasizes the importance of intermolecular charge transfer interactions, offering valuable insights into the chiral recognition of a simple bimolecular system. These findings hold significance for the future advancement in chirality-based electronic sensors and pharmaceuticals, where the chirality of molecules can impact their properties.

Dimethyl Amine Detection using Polydiacetylene Functionalized Cellulose Paper

AbstractThis work demonstrates our effort to develop stimuli responsive cellulose films for the detection of dimethyl amines, a biogenic amine, released during food decomposition. Herein, we demonstrate that thin layer deposition of polydiacetylene‐zinc oxide nanosheets (PDA‐ZnO) on cellulose (CE) paper yields a stimuli responsive strip exhibiting strong thermochromism and solvatochromism against dimethyl amine. The incorporation of Zn nanoclusters within the composite plays an essential role in achieving reversible thermochromism while strong intermolecular interactions promote adsorption of PDA‐ZnO on cellulose paper. X‐ray diffraction and infrared spectroscopy reveal that the Zn2+ ions intercalate with PDA bilayer and strongly interact with the carboxylate headgroup of PDA. Furthermore, the reversible thermochromism persist when the nanosheets are deposited on cellulose (CE) paper when assembling PDA‐ZnO−CE paper. In addition, PDA‐ZnO−CE displayed selective solvatochromism allowing the utilization of the paper in the detection of dimethyl amine as it displayed a distinct and remarkable purple to orange colour transition. In particular, the response of the PDA‐ZnO−CE paper in several other organic solvents was poor as no transitions were observed hence its selectivity towards dimethylamine. In conclusion, the incorporation of PDA‐ZnO on cellulose paper is a step forward towards designing of a stimuli responsive packaging material that can detect biogenic amines released during food decomposition thereby preventing food poisoning.

Applicability of self-consistent reaction field (SCRF) method to DFT estimation of hydrogen isotope separation factors in reversible processes

ABSTRACT In earlier quantum chemical calculations of isotope effects, chemical species in the liquid phase were generally treated as existing in the gas phase. In recent years, however, advances in computational programs have made it easier for the self-consistent reaction field (SCRF) method to handle chemical species in the liquid phase, and as a result, it has become easier to apply the SCRF method to isotope effect calculations. This paper concerns the scope of application of the DFT-SCRF method to reversible processes for hydrogen isotope enrichment. It is found that the applicability of the method depends on the type of the intermolecular interaction in the liquid phase and the degree of hydrogen isotope effect (separation factor) on which the process is based. When the magnitude of the isotope effect of the separation system is greater than 10–1, the simple SCRF method is fully applicable; when the magnitude is around 10–2, SCRF with a dimer model, in which the monomer is replaced by a dimer, is applicable for the analysis of the liquid phase with relatively strong intermolecular interactions. Anharmonic correction to the separation factor calculated based on harmonic frequencies may be effective to systems with the liquid phase with weak intermolecular interactions.

Interfacial self-assembling of nano-TATB@PDA embedded football-like CL-20 co-particles with reduced sensitivity

In this study, to effectively reduce the mechanical sensitivity of 2,4,6,8,10,12-hexanitro-2,4,6,8,10,12-hexaazaiso-wurtzitane (CL-20) while maintaining its high energy density, an interfacial controlled self-assembly technique was employed to prepare co-particles containing minimal amounts of nano-sized insensitive compounds. Herein, 1,3,5-triamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene (TATB), a commonly used insensitive energetic compound, was employed. Through the spray drying technique, CL-20 and nano-sized TATB@polydopamine (PDA) were effectively assembled into spherical co-particles with varying TATB contents (1, 5, and 10 %). The scanning electron microscopy images revealed the co-particles to have a football-shaped morphology. Notably, a part of the CL-20 had crystallised as a compact shell with a trace amount of nTATB@PDA on the surface, while most of CL-20 was embedded in the co-particles. The strong intermolecular interactions between the compact CL-20 shells and nTATB@PDA were confirmed through Raman and infrared spectroscopy analyses. For instance, the co-particles with 10 % nTATB@PDA exhibited 2 °C higher peak decomposition temperature compared to raw ε-CL-20, indicating improved thermal stability. Furthermore, thermal gravimetric analysis results revealed that the co-particles underwent one-step thermal decomposition, while the mixture decomposed in two steps (at the same ratio) due to the differing thermal stabilities of CL-20 and TATB. In terms of safety, the co-particles demonstrated an impact initiation energy of 16 J, which is five times higher than raw CL-20. Additionally, the friction sensitivity of co-TATBP10%/CL-20 decreased from 100 to 80 %. Despite great improvements in sensitivity, the density of the co-particles remained almost the same as that of ε-CL-20. Overall, these findings underscore the effectiveness of co-particle technology in reducing the mechanical sensitivity while enhancing the thermostability of CL-20, all whilst maintaining the energy density.

Influence of Polymer Side Chain Size and Backbone Length on the Self-Assembly of Supramolecular Polymer Bottlebrushes.

Hydrogen bonds are a versatile tool for creating fibrous, bottlebrush-like assemblies of polymeric building blocks. However, a delicate balance of forces exists between the steric repulsion of the polymer chains and these directed supramolecular forces. In this work we have systematically investigated the influence of structural parameters of the attached polymers on the assembly behaviour of benzene trisurea (BTU) and benzene tris(phenylalanine) (BTP) conjugates in water. Polymers with increasing main chain lengths and different side chain sizes were prepared by reversible addition-fragmentation chain-transfer (RAFT) polymerization of hydroxyethyl acrylate (HEA), tri(ethylene glycol) methyl ether acrylate (TEGA) and oligo(ethylene glycol) methyl ether acrylate (OEGA). The resulting structures were analyzed using small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Both BTU and BTP formed fibres with PHEA attached, but a transition to spherical morphologies was observed at degrees of polymerisation (DP) of 70 and above. Overall, the main chain length appeared to be a dominating factor in inducing morphology transitions. Increasing the side chain size generally had a similar effect but mainly impeded any aggregation as is the case of POEGA. Interestingly, BTP conjugates still formed fibres, suggesting that the stronger intermolecular interactions can compensate partially for the steric repulsion.

STUDYING THE PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF PVA-PEG LOADED WITH DIFFERENT CONCENTRATIONS OF LIGNOSULFONATE

Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) and Polyethylene Glycol (PEG) blend composite films were prepared using the casting technique. The study aims to investigate the effect of the addition of various Lignosulfonate (LS) concentrations at (0.01, 0.02, and 0.04 wt %) on the optical and structural properties of the PVA/PEG using UV–VIS spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results showed that the addition of LS led to a more compact structure of PVA/PEG, which increased its refractive index and amorphous phase. This resulted in a reduction in the optical energy gap that could be attributed to the increase in the disordered structure of the composites. Additionally, the Absorbance of PVA/PEG/LS composite film increased as the LS doping concentration increasedin the matrix. These results reflect the proper dispersion of LS into the PVA/PEGmatrix, causing a strong intermolecular interaction between LS and PVA/PEG blends, suggesting strong hydrogen bond formation between the hydroxyl group in PVA chains and the outer site groups of LS.This study has yielded significant insights that may aid in the advancement of polymer applications in industries by reducing costs. Theseresults could be instrumental in enhancing production processes and making the use of polymers a more viable and cost-effective option for industrial operations.

In silico Characterization of Natural Blending Agents in Conjunction with Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) to Solicit Biopolymer film with Improved Thermal Stability

Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) is known to exhibit limitations in terms of thermal stability. Its susceptibility to thermal degradation, particularly when exposed to high temperatures, can hinder its performance in various applications. This study addresses the thermal stability limitations of Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) by exploring strategies to enhance its performance through blending with biodegradable polymers. Focusing on the PHB-pectin blend, computational simulations unveil a remarkable 346.92 K increase in the glass transition temperature (Tg), surpassing pure PHB. This elevation indicates strong intermolecular interactions, potentially involving hydrogen bonding, leading to a more rigid and thermally stable polymer system. The heightened Tg has practical implications for critical applications, such as automotive components and electronic devices, where resistance to elevated temperatures is essential. Emphasizing environmental benefits, the study highlights the use of biodegradable and bio-based polymers as eco-friendly alternatives to traditional plastics, contributing to reduced plastic waste. Overall, this research underscores the potential of thermally stable polymers to both enhance material performance and address environmental concerns across diverse industries.

Magnetic Supramolecular Spherical Arrays: Direct Formation of Micellar Cubic Mesophase by Lanthanide Metallomesogens with 7-Coordination Geometry.

Here, an unprecedented phenomenon in which 7-coordinate lanthanide metallomesogens, which align via hydrogen bonds mediated by coordinated H2 O molecules, form micellar cubic mesophases at room temperature, creating body-centered cubic (BCC)-type supramolecular spherical arrays, is reported. The results of experiments and molecular dynamics simulations reveal that spherical assemblies of three complexes surrounded by an amorphous alkyl domain spontaneously align in an energetically stable orientation to form the BCC structure. This phenomenon differs greatly from the conventional self-assembling behavior of 6-coordinated metallomesogens, which form columnar assemblies due to strong intermolecular interactions. Since the magnetic and luminescent properties of different lanthanides vary, adding arbitrary functions to spherical arrays is possible by selecting suitable lanthanides to be used. The method developed in this study using 7-coordinate lanthanide metallomesogens as building blocks is expected to lead to the rational development of micellar cubic mesophases.

Utilization of Lipophilic Salt and Phospholipid Complex in Lipid-Based Formulations to Modulate Drug Loading and Oral Bioavailability of Pazopanib.

Pazopanib hydrochloride (PAZ) displays strong intermolecular interaction in its crystal lattice structure, limiting its solubility and dissolution. The development of lipid-based formulations (LbFs) resulted in reduced PAZ loading due to solid-state mediated low liposolubility. This study aims to enhance our understanding of PAZ crystallinity by synthesizing a lipophilic salt and phospholipid complex and investigating its impact on the drug loading in LbFs. The synthesized pazopanib lipophilic salt and phospholipid complex were extensively characterized. The solid form of pazopanib docusate (PAZ-DOC) and pazopanib phospholipid complex (PAZ-PLC) indicates a reduction in characteristic diffraction peaks of crystalline PAZ. The lipid formulations were prepared using synthesized PAZ-DOC and PAZ-PLC, where PAZ-DOC demonstrated sixfold higher drug solubility than the commercial salt form and twice that of the PAZ-PLC due to differences in the crystallinity. Further, the impact of salt and complex formation was assessed on the aqueous drug solubilization using lipolysis and multimedia dissolution experiments. Moreover, the LbFs showed notably faster dissolution compared to the crystalline PAZ and marketed tablet. In terms of in vivo pharmacokinetics, the PAZ-DOC LbF exhibited a remarkable 11-fold increase in AUC value compared to the crystalline PAZ and a 2.5-fold increase compared to Votrient®. Similarly, PAZ-PLC LbF showed an approximately ninefold increase in drug exposure compared to the crystalline PAZ, and a 2.2-fold increase compared to Votrient®. These findings suggest that disrupting the crystallinity of drugs and incorporating them into LbF could be advantageous for enhancing drug loading and overcoming limitations related to drug absorption.

Band-like transport in solution-processed perylene diimide dianion films with high Hall mobility.

It is crucial to prepare high-mobility organic polycrystalline film through solution processing. However, the delocalized carrier transport of polycrystalline films in organic semiconductors has rarely been investigated through Hall-effect measurement. This study presents a strategy for building strong intermolecular interactions to fabricate solution-crystallized p-type perylene diimide (PDI) dianion films with a closer intermolecular π-π stacking distance of 3.25Å. The highly delocalized carriers enable a competitive Hall mobility of 3cm2V-1s-1, comparable to that of the reported high-mobility organic single crystals. The PDI dianion films exhibit a high electrical conductivity of 17Scm-1 and typical band-like transport, as evidenced by the negative temperature linear coefficient of mobility proportional to T-3/2. This work demonstrates that, as the intermolecular π-π interactions become strong enough, they will display high mobility and conductivity, providing a new approach to developing high-mobility organic semiconductor materials.

Electropolymerized Bipolar Poly(2,3-diaminophenazine) Cathode for High-Performance Aqueous Al-Ion Batteries with An Extended Temperature Range of -20 to 45°C.

Achieving reversible insertion/extraction in most cathodes for aqueous aluminum ion batteries (AAIBs) is a significant challenge due to the high charge density of Al3+ and strong electrostatic interactions. Organic materials facilitate the hosting of multivalent carriers and rapid ions diffusion through the rearrangement of chemical bonds. Here, a bipolar conjugated poly(2,3-diaminophenazine) (PDAP) on carbon substrates prepared via a straightforward electropolymerization method is introduced as cathode for AAIBs. The integration of n-type and p-type active units endow PDAP with an increased number of sites for ions interaction. The long-range conjugated skeleton enhances electron delocalization and collaborates with carbon to ensure high conductivity. Moreover, the strong intermolecular interactions including π-π interaction and hydrogen bonding significantly enhance its stability. Consequently, the Al//PDAP battery exhibits a large capacity of 338 mAh g-1 with long lifespan and high-rate capability. It consistently demonstrates exceptional electrochemical performances even under extreme conditions with capacities of 155 and 348 mAh g-1 at -20 and 45°C, respectively. In/ex situ spectroscopy comprehensively elucidates its cation/anion (Al3+ /H3 O+ and ClO4 - ) storage with 3-electron transfer in dual electroactive centers (C═N and -NH-). This study presents a promising strategy for constructing high-performance organic cathode for AAIBs over a wide temperature range.

Enhanced liquid crystal performance through alkoxybenzoic acid doping

ABSTRACT This study investigates the impact of doping agents, 4-octyloxybenzoic acid (8OBA) and 4-octyloxy-3-fluoro benzoic acid (8OBAF), on the thermodynamic and electro-optical properties of the nematic liquid crystal 5CB. The differential scanning calorimetry, dielectric, and polarising optical microscopic measurements revealed intriguing properties. The doped liquid crystal samples exhibit higher phase transition temperatures, increasing birefringence, and order parameters. Dielectric measurements disclose reduced free ion concentration with 8OBA and increased concentration with 8OBAF in the liquid crystal matrix. The threshold voltage, switching time, and rotational viscosity were also diminished in the 5CB + 8OBA mixture, whereas these parameters were increased in the 5CB + 8OBAF mixture due to the strong intermolecular interaction with liquid crystals. The results presented here demonstrate that 8OBA dopant can be used to achieve high thermal stability of the nematic liquid crystal phase with fast response times and low threshold.
