Framing Child Abuse: Analyzing Media Coverage of CSA in Lahore's Newspapers (2020-2023)

Media coverage significantly influences public understanding and policy responses to child abuse. This study examines the portrayal of child abuse, particularly child sexual abuse (CSA), in Lahore’s newspapers from 2020 to 2023. Findings reveal distinct patterns in coverage frequency, framing, and narrative presentation across English and Urdu newspapers. The analysis highlights issues such as sensationalism, lack of sensitivity, and politicization. Despite these challenges, media coverage remains essential for raising awareness and fostering societal dialogue on child protection. The study emphasizes the need for ethical reporting practices, improved journalist training, and stronger collaboration between media, government, and civil society to effectively address child abuse.

Role of artificial intelligence in smart grid – a mini review

A smart grid is a structure that regulates, operates, and utilizes energy sources that are incorporated into the smart grid using smart communications techniques and computerized techniques. The running and maintenance of Smart Grids now depend on artificial intelligence methods quite extensively. Artificial intelligence is enabling more dependable, efficient, and sustainable energy systems from improving load forecasting accuracy to optimizing power distribution and guaranteeing issue identification. An intelligent smart grid will be created by substituting artificial intelligence for manual tasks and achieving high efficiency, dependability, and affordability across the energy supply chain from production to consumption. Collection of a large diversity of data is vital to make effective decisions. Artificial intelligence application operates by processing abundant data samples, advanced computing, and strong communication collaboration. The development of appropriate infrastructure resources, including big data, cloud computing, and other collaboration platforms, must be enhanced for this type of operation. In this paper, an attempt has been made to summarize the artificial intelligence techniques used in various aspects of smart grid system.

Bonus Demografi: Peluang atau Tantangan Bagi Kemajuan Indonesia di Tahun 2045

Indonesia's demographic bonus, characterized by an increase in the number of people of productive age, provides an excellent opportunity to drive economic growth and sustainable development. However, optimizing the demographic bonus faces various challenges, including disparities in the quality of education, inequality in access to skills training, and the unpreparedness of the labor market to absorb the workforce. This study aims to analyze the potential of the demographic bonus as an economic opportunity while identifying challenges that hinder its optimization. With an innovative cross-sectoral approach involving education, health, and the economy, this research offers solutions in the form of strengthening the quality of human resources through technology-based education, digital skills training, and cross-sectoral policy synergies. The results show that cross-sectoral synergies are key in capitalizing on the demographic bonus to support inclusive and sustainable economic growth. The research also highlights the importance of developing policies that are adaptive to the needs of the digital era to create a highly competitive workforce. With strong collaboration between the education, health, and economic sectors, the research provides concrete solutions to improve the quality of human capital through technology-integrated education, relevant digital skills training, and well-coordinated cross-sector policies. It was found that cross-sectoral cooperation is key in harnessing the potential of the demographic bonus to support inclusive and sustainable economic growth. In addition, this research emphasizes the need for policies responsive to the development of the digital era to create a highly competitive workforce in the global market.

Research on hypoxia and the extracellular matrix in cancer: A visualization analysis

Hypoxia and the extracellular matrix (ECM) are critical drivers of metastasis. To comprehensively analyze the development of hypoxia and ECM in cancer and identify potential collaborative relationships, this study employs bibliometric methods to analyze and predict emerging hotspots and potential research directions. This study collected relevant research literature (published in English; 2007 – 2024) from the Web of Science Core Collection using bibliometrics. The research status, hotspots, frontiers, and trends in the field of “hypoxia and ECM and cancer” were analyzed using the R package (bibliometrix). CiteSpace and VOSviewer were employed for visualizing the analysis of authors, countries, institutions, keywords, and co-cited references. A total of 2199 authors from 39 countries contributed to 351 articles published in 201 journals in the research domain. From 2007 to 2024, there was an overall increasing trend, with an average annual growth rate of 13.54%. Developed countries, especially the United States of America (USA) made major contributions, while China, despite its high publication volume, lagged in quality compared to the USA. Notably, Johns Hopkins University demonstrated strong international collaboration. Cancer-associated fibroblast (CAF), tumor microenvironment, and cancer metabolism are current major research areas, with future directions in clinical therapy. The analysis of hypoxia and ECM in cancer using bibliometrics reveals a rapid development from 2007 to 2016. International collaboration has intensified through partnerships with developed countries, resulting in more in-depth research contributions from some developing countries. These research efforts mainly focus on pancreatic cancer, lung cancer, glioblastoma multiforme, and breast cancer. CAF and glucose metabolic reprogramming associated with hypoxia and ECM in cancer have garnered widespread attention. Research in these areas, particularly the challenges of clinical therapy resistance in triple-negative breast cancer closely associated with ECM, is expected to be key focal points in the future.

Strategy for accelerating the realization of climate-smart agriculture using a circular economy perspective approach

This research aims to accelerate the realization of Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) with a Circular Economy Perspective Approach. The research was conducted in Kopeng Village, Getasan District, Semarang Regency, Central Java. The sampling technique used in this research was the purposive sampling method to select research personnel. The first analytical method in this research is Mactor analysis. The second data analysis method used in this research is ANP (Analytic Network Process). The research results show that the strategy to accelerate the realization of Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) using a circular economy perspective requires strong collaboration and synergy between stakeholders/actors. The stakeholders who have the strongest role and influence are organic farmers, research institutions, and universities. Efforts to realize climate-smart agriculture based on a circular economy have the main strategic objectives of increasing agricultural productivity amidst uncertain climate change and reducing farmers' dependence on the use of chemical inputs. The strategic priorities in realizing climate-smart agriculture based on a circular economy are selecting plant varieties that are resistant to extreme weather and improving water resource management.

Advances in gastrointestinal vascular bleeding disorders: Successful sirolimus treatment in colonic angioectasia.

Gastrointestinal (GI) vascular bleeding disorders pose significant clinical challenges due to their complex pathogenesis and varied treatment responses. Despite advancements in diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, optimal management strategies remain elusive, necessitating further research. To assess research trends and clinical advancements in GI vascular bleeding disorders, highlighting key themes and therapeutic progress. A bibliometric analysis was conducted using the Web of Science Core Collection database, reviewing publications from 2000 to 2024 to identify trends, high-frequency keywords, and key contributions from leading research institutions. In addition, a case study highlighted the effective application of sirolimus in managing colonic angioectasia in a patient with recurrent GI bleeding who had not responded to previous treatments. The analysis reviewed 470 scholarly articles from 203 countries, involving 2817 authors across 1502 institutions. The United States led in publication contributions, with strong collaborations with countries like China, England, and Germany. A significant trend was observed in the shift from traditional endoscopic interventions to pharmacological therapies, particularly highlighting the successful use of sirolimus in treating colonic angioectasia. High-frequency keywords such as "angiodysplasia", "colon", and "management" were identified, indicating key research themes. The study also noted a growing interest in drug therapies, as evidenced by the increasing prominence of keywords like "thalidomide" since 2018. This study links bibliometric analysis and clinical insights, highlighting the shift to pharmacological management in GI vascular bleeding disorders to improve patient outcomes.

How can we adapt together? Assessing how legal frameworks address collaboration between the urban water sector and spatial planning

ABSTRACT Climate change presents novel challenges for water management, both in the context of water excess and scarcity, and it is expected to afflict the world in the coming years. The necessity of strong collaboration between urban water management and spatial planning to facilitate adaptation to climate change has been underlined in the literature. Considering the potential of the legislative context to foster this collaboration, this article examines how the objectives and measures for collaboration are foreseen in a set of legal documents. The article focuses on the Portuguese legal context. As a southern European country, Portugal is situated in one region most susceptible to climate change impacts, including water scarcity and flooding. A systematic document analysis was conducted to examine how collaboration is formally foreseen in a set of legislation, plans, programs, and water management-related contracts. The findings reveal that although plans and programs include recommendations for collaboration, this inclusion is much poorer in regulations where the establishment of the necessary steps remains weak. Contractual arrangements between water sector grantors and concessionaires have shown to be even poorer at fostering such collaboration. Further studies applied to other countries could shed light on this challenge.

This study examines the evolution and current state of green investment research through bibliometric analysis and a systematic review. A bibliometric analysis can examine the intellectual landscape of this field including publication trends, leading countries and institutions, collaboration patterns, and key themes. Green investment research has grown significantly since the year 2014 with China leading in publication and citations. Strong international collaborations were observed, particularly between China, United States and United Kingdom. The analysis also highlights the central themes of Green Investment, Sustainable Investment, and Sustainability, along with the increasing prominence of areas like Green Finance, ESG, and Green Bonds. To get a better understanding of this rapidly evolving topic, a thorough review of the 25 most cited papers is done. This review focuses on green investment drivers and obstacles. This study gives an overview of green investment research and the interplay of enabling and constraining variables, with implications for investors, policymakers, and businesses, seeking a more sustainable future.

The Influence of Leadership Style and Organizational Culture on Employee Engagement at PT. Dayamitra Telekomunikasi, Tbk. (Study of Mitratel Employees)

PT. Dayamitra Telekomunikasi, Tbk. (Mitratel) aims to foster strong collaboration within the organization. High employee engagement is essential for achieving this goal. However, recent internal surveys indicate a decline in employee engagement, potentially linked to leadership style and organizational culture. These factors, as supported by prior research, significantly impact employee engagement and should be addressed to improve overall organizational performance. This research aims to examine the correlation and relationship between leadership style, organizational culture, and employee engagement as outcomes at Mitratel. The correlations will be linked to determine whether there is a relationship with the overall organizational performance level. This quantitative study uses surveys to gather data and PLS analysis to examine the relationships between variables, even with moderate sample sizes and non-normal data. This study found that both leadership style and organizational culture positively impact employee engagement, with organizational culture having a more significant influence. Higher levels of both factors lead to higher employee engagement. In summary, the study confirms that a leadership style and the organizational culture have a significant impact on employees’ engagement in an organizational such as a telecommunication company like Mitratel.

A Special Issue Dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of Centre of Super‐Diamond and Advanced Films (COSDAF), the City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK)

AbstractThis special issue celebrates the 25th Anniversary of the Centre of Super‐Diamond and Advanced Films (COSDAF) at the City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), coinciding with the 30th anniversary of CityUHK. It showcases the research contributions of both current staff and former members of COSDAF. Established in 1998 by Prof. Shuit‐Tong Lee, COSDAF serves as a university‐level research center, bringing together academic experts from various disciplines focused on semiconductor nanomaterials, nano‐organic light‐emitting displays, diamond technologies, and advanced nano‐coatings. Since its inception, COSDAF has trained over 450 PhD students and postdoc fellows, many of them now serve as faculty members and leading researchers in various universities, research institutes, and industries worldwide. Additionally, COSDAF has cultivated strong collaboration with high‐tech local industries, providing training and resources for research staff and students. This has established an important platform that bridges the gap between academia and industry.

Analisis Faktor-faktor yang Mempengaruhi Keberlanjutan Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) yang Didirikan oleh Mahasiswa

The purpose of this study is to analyze and determine the factors that influence the desire of MSMEs established by students. This research approach collects data through literature studies, which involve reading literature from various sources including books, journals and reports using qualitative and deductive approaches. The findings in this study are that there are two factors that influence MSMEs established by students, namely internal and external factors. Internal factors include managerial skills, innovation and creativity, and availability of capital. While external factors include access to markets, government policies, and market competition. In addition, there are strategies for the sustainability of MSMEs established by students, including improving management skills, developing solid business plans, increasing innovation and creativity, strong collaboration and networks, and sustainable growth of MSMEs.

It Is a Catch-22 Situation! A Decade of Research Trends on Gay Wellbeing in China: A Bibliometric Analysis.

The wellbeing of gay men in China is shaped by a combination of cultural, social, and political factors, yet research on this topic remains fragmented despite growing global interest in LGBTQ+ health. This study provides a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of research trends on wellbeing of gays (MSM) in China, using the PRISMA 2020 guidelines for a systematic search strategy and VOSviewer for bibliometric mapping. Data from Scopus were analyzed to examine publication output, top journals, and authors, along with a co-occurrence analysis of keywords and co-authorship networks across countries and authors. Results show a steady rise in publications over the past decade, particularly after 2015, revealing strong domestic collaboration and emerging international partnerships. The study identifies key contributing journals and themes, while revealing that most research remains narrowly focused on HIV/AIDS, leaving gaps in understanding gay wellbeing from broader societal and cultural perspectives. Surprisingly, very few studies specifically examine or measure overall wellbeing, whether using quantitative or qualitative approaches, and there is limited exploration of how cultural factors influence the experiences of gay men in China. These findings underscore the need for more holistic research approaches that move beyond public health and HIV prevention to address the psychological, social, and cultural dimensions of wellbeing.

Global research trends of BRUE (brief resolved unexplained event) or formerly ALTE (apparent life-threatening event): A comprehensive visualization and bibliometric analysis from 1988 to 2024.

This study aimed to conduct a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the literature on Brief Resolved Unexplained Event (BRUE) and its predecessor, Apparent Life-Threatening Event (ALTE), from 1988 to 2024, in order to identify research trends, collaborative networks, and areas of focus in this field. We analyzed articles indexed in Scopus and Web of Science using various bibliometric indicators. The visualization of bibliometric networks was performed using VOSviewer and bibliometrix. Publication trends, citation analysis, co-authorship networks, and keyword co-occurrence were examined. A total of 270 articles were analyzed, of which 85.56% were research articles and 14.44% were review articles. The number of publications showed a significant increase over time (r=0.73, p<0.001). The United States emerged as the leading contributor with strong international collaborations. The most prolific journals were Pediatrics, Pediatric Emergency Care, and Journal of Pediatrics. Keyword analysis revealed a shift from terms associated with life-threatening events (e.g., SIDS, sleep apnea syndrome) to more specific terminology (BRUE) and methodological keywords over time. However, the 2016 redefinition of ALTE to BRUE did not result in a corresponding increase in publications. This bibliometric analysis provides valuable insights into the evolution and current state of BRUE/ALTE research. The findings highlight the field's progression toward more precise, evidence-based approaches. The identified research trends and gaps, particularly the limited studies from developing countries, offer direction for future research. These results can inform clinical practice, guide research priorities, and support the development of standardized guidelines for BRUE/ALTE management.

Solution-Focused Telemental Health: A New Approach for Social Work Field Education

ABSTRACT The COVID-19 pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges around the world and shifted social work education. The solution-focused telemental health (SFTH) model was developed and evaluated at a social work program in New York State in the United States with both Master and Bachelor of Social Work students. The 14-week online training model included: (a) a clinical weekly seminar augmenting social work students’ practice classes focusing on solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), (b) group supervision and case consultations, and (c) a field placement implementing SFTH. A cotherapy model was implemented where students worked in pairs for additional support, processing, and preparation. Process evaluation using focus groups with social work students, and their process recordings and weekly supervision logs revealed: (a) increased social work students’ competence in using SFBT in their telemental health practice, (b) strong collaboration with peers in the virtual training with group cohesion and mutual support, and (c) needs for more focused and meaningful telemental health training. Recommendations are provided for social work education to incorporate training in telemental health and virtual social work practice using evidence-based approaches. The SFTH model provides an effective, short-term, online training approach for social work students.

The 6 C’s of Imaginative Play in Learning English to Develop Students’ Character

This community service examines the use of imaginative games in English learning to develop student character through the 6C framework: Collaboration, Communication, Content, Critical Thinking, Creative Innovation, and Self-Confidence. This activity was conducted with seventh grade students at Agios Nikolaus Gunungsitoli Christian Private Junior High School using observation sheets, field notes and student worksheets to analyze the impact of imaginative play on language learning outcomes and character building. The findings showed that most students demonstrated strong collaboration and communication skills, participating effectively in group activities and verbal interactions. Comprehension of materials and critical thinking skills also improved, with 87.5% of students (14 out of 16) showing a strong understanding of English learning materials, including grammar and vocabulary. A total of 68.75% of students (11 out of 16) were able to analyze and solve problems effectively, although further development is needed to improve their critical thinking skills. However, creative innovation was less developed, with only half of the participants actively exploring new ideas. Self-confidence saw a significant improvement, with 81.25% of students (13 out of 16) showing high levels of self-confidence. This reflects the effectiveness of the imaginative play method in helping students feel confident using language. In conclusion, the 6C’s imaginative play effectively supports language acquisition and character education, particularly in enhancing communication, collaboration, and confidence, though additional strategies are needed to further improve creativity and critical thinking. This approach offers a holistic and engaging method for integrating character development into English language learning.

Hot Spots and Frontiers of Livestreaming Communication Research in China in the Past 10 Years---- Bibliometric Analysis and Knowledge Graph Visualization Using Cite Space

Chinese research on livestreaming communication lacks systematic theoretical analysis and comprehensive understanding; hotspots and frontiers are still unclear. Based on the relevant literature in the past ten years (2013-2023) on CNKI, this paper explores the development trends, research status, and keyword clustering in this field. It was found that academic articles on livestreaming communication in China show a significant growth trend. The past decade's research can be divided into three stages of development, and the establishment of strong collaboration among prolific authors, represented by Yu Guoming, Liu Jia, Hua Jie, and Yan Sanjiu, remains elusive. Eight hotspots emerged in live streaming communication research during the four evolutionary phases: webcasting, livestreaming reports, mainstream media, e-commerce live streaming, sports events, media convergence, livestreaming bandwagons, and live streaming platforms. Moreover, five major research frontiers were identified: mobile live streaming, live streaming with goods, slow live streaming, live streaming with goods, and e-commerce live streaming. Regarding knowledge structure, in the cluster analysis, webcasting, e-commerce live streaming, and livestreaming coverage scale are more significant and are the current areas of concern for scholars. This study helps scholars in livestreaming communication to discover new frontiers and distinguish key knowledge subfields.

Evaluation of an interprofessional education program involving medical and pharmacy students: a mixed-method study

BackgroundEffective pharmacotherapy requires strong collaboration between physicians and pharmacists, highlighting the need for interprofessional education (IPE) in university curricula. This study evaluated the impact of an IPE program on medical and pharmacy students, focusing on their perceived development of interprofessional collaborative competencies, perceived learning outcomes, and clinical collaboration perceptions.MethodsA mixed-method approach was employed to evaluate an IPE program that consisted of three mandatory activities with increased complexity and autonomy, that were integrated into the medical and pharmacy students’ curricula. From September 2022 to June 2023, using a retrospective pre-post approach, students rated their competence levels after an educational activity using the Interprofessional Collaborative Competency Attainment Scale (ICCAS). The participants also answered open-ended survey questions about their learning outcomes. Medical students participated in both uniprofessional education (UPE) and IPE, while pharmacy students participated exclusively in IPE. Effect sizes for competency development were estimated, and subgroup analyses were performed to examine the impact of multiple IPE activities. Semi-structured interviews provided additional qualitative insights, which were analyzed using thematic analysis.ResultsOf the 309 surveys completed (response rate 64%, with 274 medical and 35 pharmacy students), all 21 ICCAS items showed statistically significant improvement in both UPE (n = 127) and IPE (n = 182) (p < 0.05). While effect sizes for UPE were small across all items, IPE had medium effect sizes for six items and large effect sizes for two items. Overall, students rated themselves as more capable of interprofessional collaboration after IPE, with 55% (n = 124) reporting feeling 'somewhat better' and 6% (n = 14) feeling 'much better,' compared to 16% (n = 12) and 0%, respectively, after UPE. Competency development seems to improve slightly with an increased number of IPE activities. Pharmacy students reported somewhat higher post-activity scores than medical students did. Qualitative data from open-ended survey responses and interviews with six medical students and four pharmacy students highlighted a deeper understanding of professional roles and a greater appreciation for collaborative work through this program.ConclusionsThis IPE program focused on pharmacotherapy improved self-perceived interprofessional collaborative competencies among medical and pharmacy students. Through multiple interprofessional activities, students can develop a deeper understanding of professional roles and improve collaborative skills.

Biodiversity Conservation in Human‐Dominated Landscapes: Toward Collaborative Management of Blue–Green Systems

ABSTRACTMaintaining ecological connectivity is crucial for biodiversity, yet effectively managing interconnected areas through actor collaboration is challenging. This study examines collaboration through social–ecological fit in interconnected aquatic “blue” and terrestrial “green” areas, encompassing natural and semi‐natural elements, in human‐dominated landscapes. Combining species distribution models and connectivity analyses focused on declining amphibians and survey data on actors’ area management and collaboration within interconnected areas, we create a spatially explicit social–ecological network that we analyze using network models. Results highlight diverse ecological dependencies shaping actor interactions. Strong collaboration is observed in interconnected blue‐rural‐green areas, whereas blue‐urban‐green areas lack collaboration, with minor rivers and urban‐green spaces at the network's core plagued by social–ecological misfit. Strengthening collaboration in these areas is essential to prevent further ecological network degradation. Incorporating a spatially explicit social–ecological perspective covering diverse blue and green areas guides targeted interventions and fosters effective conservation policy and practice.

Peran Resiliensi dalam Memediasi Pengaruh Budaya Manajemen Risiko Rantai Pasok terhadap Kinerja Organisasi

This study aims to analyze the impact of Supply Chain Risk Management Culture on Re-engineering, Agility, Collaboration, and Organizational Performance. Based on research involving 125 respondents, it was found that Supply Chain Risk Management Culture positively and significantly influences Re-engineering, Agility, and Collaboration. However, these variables do not directly affect Organizational Performance. Instead, they act as mediators connecting the Supply Chain Risk Management Culture with improved Organizational Performance. Additionally, further research on 125 respondents in automotive companies in Bekasi City revealed that the implementation of Collaborative Supply Chain Management positively affects Operational Performance through enhanced Operational Capability. Strong collaboration between companies and business partners supports production efficiency, cost reduction, and product quality improvement. This study emphasizes the importance of Operational Capability as an intermediary in strengthening the relationship between Collaborative Supply Chain Management and Operational Performance. In conclusion, Supply Chain Risk Management Culture and Collaborative Supply Chain Management contribute to improving company performance through mediators such as Re-engineering, Agility, Collaboration, and Operational Capability. Companies are advised to continue developing culture and collaboration strategies to achieve efficiency and sustainable competitive advantages.

Diversity and Inclusion in Economics in United Kingdom Higher Education

The Equality Act of 2010 provides a legal framework promoting diversity and equity within UK higher education. The Act aims to eliminate unlawful discrimination and ensure fairness, equity, and inclusivity in the United Kingdom. However, several studies have revealed discrimination and a lack of diversity in UK higher education. This study examined the state of diversity and inclusion in the field of economics in UK universities, a discipline highly influential in global policy formulation, using secondary data from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA). The importance of having a diversified economics profession cannot be overemphasized. Greater diversity in economics provides opportunities for people of diverse backgrounds to contribute new and innovative ideas to tackle the ever-changing challenges facing the economy and society. The findings from this study however show that that economics lacks diversity relative to other disciplines such as Law, Art and humanities, languages, management, and social sciences. The field of study is still male-dominated, and the BAEM groups and people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds are also underrepresented. This paper therefore aligned with the call for a targeted mentorship programme for the underrepresented groups in economics, decolonisation and internationalisation of economics curriculum, broadened and inclusive admission policies for economics, and stronger collaboration with specific organisation hiring economics graduates to organise industry-specific workshops on practical industry-relevant skills.
