The Gusjigang model for strengthening local wisdom-based character education in digital era

This research aims to analyze Gusjigang (bagus (superior), ngaji (religious science), and dagang (trade)) as a model of strengthening character education based on local wisdom in the digital era. This research methodology uses a systematic literature review with in-depth analysis. The results of this study show that the dimensions of Gusjigang can foster moral goodness, intellectual development, and entrepreneurial spirit. In this case, the younger generation can build a strong ethical foundation, utilize technology wisely, and contribute to the development of themselves and society. By combining Gusjigang values and digital technology, it can create a model of character education that is relevant, strengthens cultural identity, and can adapt to changing times without losing its roots and fundamental values.

Evaluation of the Character Education Strengthening Program in Elementary Schools in View from CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product)

This research aims to evaluate the context, input, process, and products in the character education strengthening program at SD Muhammadiyah 05 Pekanbaru. The approach used in this research was qualitative with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques included reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research showed that the character education program at SD Muhammadiyah 05 Pekanbaru had proven to be effective. This can be seen from several aspects: First, the context aspect, where most of it has been fulfilled well. Program procedures, which include a clear and detailed vision, mission, goals, and background, were in accordance with community needs. It is evidenced by the increasing number of students studying and student participation in extracurricular activities, as well as student enthusiasm in carrying out character education programs. Second, is the input aspect, where most of the input components have been fulfilled properly. The majority of teachers implemented character education programs effectively. Third, the process aspect, where all components had been implemented quite well. This can be seen from the value of students' discipline and curiosity, as well as the enthusiasm of educators in guiding and directing students in implementing character education, both in the classroom and outside the classroom. Fourth, the product aspect, where most of the product components of the character education program at SD Muhammadiyah 05 Pekanbaru had shown satisfactory results. This can be seen from the instillation of character values carried out, as well as the implementation or habituation of character education carried out by each student in activities at school. Apart from that, the achievements achieved, both in the academic and non-academic fields, also showed the success of this program.

EFFECTIVENESS OF PANCASILA AND CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION LEARNING

The national urgency of Pancasila and Citizenship Education in overcoming the moral decadence faced by the nation. Character education in higher education, especially through the mandatory general courses of Pancasila and Citizenship Education, is a solution to form good character in students in accordance with the mandate of Law 12 of 2012 concerning Higher Education. The research was conducted in several universities in Pontianak City, focusing on the effectiveness of the courses in fulfilling the effectiveness of the law regarding the implementation of the mandatory curriculum of Pancasila and Citizenship Education courses in the context of local society. The research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive analysis method. The results of the research will be in the form of reports and articles proposed for publication in accredited national journals. The purpose of this study is to show the effectiveness of the Pancasila and Citizenship Education courses in forming student character, as well as what strategies have been carried out by universities to achieve the effectiveness of MKWK learning in universities in Pontianak City. The results of the research are expected to contribute to building closer cooperation between the government and universities in strengthening character education. This can be done through knowledge exchange, curriculum development, regulations, or other supporting programs to strengthen character learning at the tertiary level.

Integration of Islamic Education into Early Childhood Education Education Curriculum: Building Character in the Digital Era

The character education model shows optimal impact when integrated into a holistic and integrative curriculum and learning. Today's children really need character education, in this case teachers and parents, especially teachers, play an important role in strengthening character education for their students. This study aims to examine the integration of Islamic education in the Early Childhood Education (PAUD) curriculum: Building Character in the Digital Era at Bina Putra Kledung Pacitan Kindergarten. This research method uses qualitative research. Descriptive analysis used in this study to explore the dynamics of learning and social interaction in the school environment. For data collection, the author used observation and interview methods with teachers, principals, and parents. The results of this study indicate that research on the integration of Islamic education in the PAUD curriculum at Bina Putra Kledung Pacitan Kindergarten shows that the holistic approach applied is effective in shaping children's character in the digital era.

Implementasi Kurikulum Pesantren pada Sekolah Formal (Studi Kasus: SMP Muhammadiyah Plus Klaten Utara)

The purpose of this study is to examine how the implementation of the pesantren curriculum is integrated into formal educational institutions, especially in the Muhammadiyah Plus North Klaten Junior High School in designing the curriculum as a form of process of fostering, educating and encouraging students to underlie every behavior with good moral values or character. Formal School Education Curriculum to the Islamic Boarding School Curriculum In strengthening character education, data collection is carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. After data processing, the findings are presented in a descriptive form, and conclusions are formed from the data using source triangulation and methods. The results of the study show that there is an implementation of a formal education curriculum development model by collaborating with the values of the pesantren education curriculum which can be a solution in strengthening the morals of students. Thus, the curriculum becomes a tool in education that contains systematic and dynamic planning to achieve educational goals that have an impact on the social environment and society and are able to answer the challenges of the times.

Teachers as Catalysts for Shaping Religious Character in Youth

General Background: The youth are pivotal for national development and are increasingly required to navigate the complexities of a technologically advanced world. Specific Background: Despite this necessity, many young individuals are ill-prepared for technological engagement and often misuse these tools, which adversely affects their character. Character education is critical and must be integrated into both formal and non-formal educational systems. Knowledge Gap: While the role of Islamic boarding schools in character education is acknowledged, the specific contributions of teachers within this context remain underexplored. Aims: This research aims to elucidate the role of teachers in fostering a generation of religious professionals at the Wali Barokah Islamic Boarding School in Kediri, East Java. Results: Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation, revealing that teachers serve as facilitators, motivators, and role models. Findings indicated that teachers received a high observation score of 91%, highlighting their effectiveness in character formation. Novelty: This study provides a comprehensive examination of how teacher involvement directly influences the development of religious character among students, emphasizing the multifaceted role teachers play in Islamic education. Implications: The results underscore the necessity for enhanced teacher training and support to strengthen character education in Islamic boarding schools, thereby equipping the next generation with the moral framework needed to successfully navigate contemporary challenges and contribute positively to society. Islamic education in Indonesia is currently facing major challenges in facing modernization, which demands adjustments without sacrificing traditional values. This article is a literature study that analyzes how Islamic education can adapt to the demands of modernization while still preserving traditional values. This study examines various literatures that discuss curriculum integration between religious and general sciences, the importance of character education, and increasing teacher capacity in the context of modernization. The results of the analysis show that curriculum integration can create graduates who are knowledgeable and have a strong understanding of religion. In addition, strengthening character education based on Islamic values ​​is important to shape students' identity and morals. This study also emphasizes the need for collaboration between educational institutions, government, and society to support relevant Islamic education. Thus, this article provides strategic guidance to maintain a balance between modernization and preservation of traditional values ​​in Islamic education in Indonesia.

The Urgency of Development Digital Comic Teaching Materials in Strengthening Character Education to Prevent Bullying Behavior for High School Students

The bullying phenomenon that occurs in the school environment shows that educational institutions are unable to provide a conducive and pleasant atmosphere for their students because the school climate seems like a "prison", and even acts of physical and verbal violence in the form of bullying often occur. Prevention of bullying behavior in the school environment can be done through strengthening character education. The lack of bullying educational teaching materials in schools is a serious problem amidst the massive bullying behavior that occurs in the school environment. Based on this phenomenon, the development of digital comic teaching materials to strengthen character education and prevent bullying is very necessary. This research aims to identify the urgency of digital comic teaching materials in strengthening character education to prevent bullying behavior. The method used in this research is quantitative-descriptive, with the research subjects being 259 high school students in Denpasar City. Research results based on student responses show that the character values that need to be instilled to prevent bullying behavior at school are 45% integrity, 23% religious, 20% independence, 10% mutual cooperation, and 2% nationalism. Meanwhile, regarding the condition of teaching materials to strengthen character education and prevent bullying behavior, 90% of students stated that there were no teaching materials. Students' perception of the development of digital comic teaching materials in strengthening character education to prevent bullying is that 84.2% are very interested in the development of digital comic teaching materials. Thus, based on students' perceptions of the development of digital comic teaching materials in strengthening character education to prevent bullying behavior, it is an urgency that must be carried out as a preventive measure in preventing bullying behavior that occurs in the school environment.

Exploring Character Education in 'Bocah-Bocah Borneo': Implications for Student Character Development

Literature is an integral part of character formation efforts. This research aims to determine the contribution of the short story anthology book ‘Bocah-Bocah Borneo’ by Neneng Eliana to the character education of elementary school students. The research method used is inferential content analysis in the form of a process of describing, classifying, interpreting, and concluding the character values contained in the short story and implications for student character development based on Strengthening Ki Hajar Dewantara's Character Education. The data sources for content analysis included the short story anthology 'Bocah-Bocah Borneo', presidential regulations related to Strengthening Character Education inspired by Ki Hajar Dewantara's philosophy, and relevant articles from accredited scientific journals.". "The content analysis involved systematically procuring data from the short story anthology, reducing and categorizing the data, making inferences, and conducting a detailed analysis. The results of the data analysis show several findings. First, there are eighteen characters values contained in the short story anthology ‘Bocah-Bocah Borneo’, namely religious, brave, socially caring, environmentally caring, friendly and communicative, responsible, curious, disciplined, hard-working, polite, independent, honest, tolerant, creative, democratic, spirit of nationality, patriotism, and appreciate for achievements. Second, the implications for student character development of ‘Bocah-Bocah Borneo’ short story which originates from the five values of Strengthening Character Education from Ki Hajar Dewantara's philosophy, namely: religion, nationalism, independence, cooperation, and integrity. This research concludes that the short story contributes significantly to the character instruction values of elementary school understudies.

“Panca Sthiti Dharmaning Prabu” – the Concept of Educational Leadership – and Its Relationship to Character Strengthening: A Phenomenological Study in Hindu-Based Schools

This paper explains the relationship between educational leadership and the strengthening of character education. One of the advances of the times is the development of technology, which has positive and negative impacts. One of the negative impacts is moral degradation among teenagers. This phenomenon compels educational institutions to strengthen character education. Therefore, this study sought to interpret how educational leadership strengthens school character education. A qualitative research method with phenomenological study approach was employed to investigate educational leadership at SMP (junior high school) Negeri Hindu 2 Sukawati. Data were collected through observation and interviews and supported by document analysis techniques. The research subjects as participants were the principal and nine teachers. Data analysis was conducted using the Moustakas model, assisted by qualitative data analysis software. Based on the existing findings, character education must be institutional, with school principals and teachers adopting an active role. This active role indicates that school principals and teachers are also responsible for strengthening character education. This is achieved through an exemplary attitude and behavior by principal and teachers, which leads to the internalization of values in character habituation among students. This attitude is essential to the Hindu-based leadership concept of Panca Sthiti Dharmaning Prabu. This research has the potential to increase the understanding of the importance of character education and to form part of a literature review for future research.

The Role of Guidance and Counseling in Forming Pancasila Student Profiles

The negative impact of digitalization on students' personal development and moral degradation highlights the urgency of character education as a solution. The government's strategic plan for implementing the Pancasila student profile requires the contribution of counselors as front guards in strengthening character education in schools. This study aims to describe the role of Islamic guidance and counseling on shaping the profile of Pancasila students. The research method applied in this paper is qualitative research with a literature study approach. The researchers gathered the data from supporting articles, books, and research publications. This research reveals that the innovative programs such as online consultations, intensive character courses, and the role of Pancasila student agents are also explained as concrete efforts in achieving character education goals. A proper understanding of the role of counselors in harmonizing the Pancasila student profile, as well as the urgency of awareness and commitment of all school members to achieve intelligent students with character in national and state life.

THE CONCEPT OF THE ISLAMIC EDUCATION MODEL IN THE TIME OF THE PROPHET SAW AND RECONSTRUCTION FOR THE PRESENT TIME

This study aims to discuss the concept of the Islamic education model during the time of Prophet Muhammad and its reconstruction for the present era. It encompasses Islamic education conducted during two periods, namely the Makkah and Madinah periods, along with the values for reconstructing Islamic education applicable in the modern era. The author employed a literature review method, drawing data from journals, books, and relevant references related to the discussed topic. The study's findings indicate that in reconstructing Islamic education, attention must be given to the harmony of teaching methods. This includes the integration of digital platforms, specialized applications, and artificial intelligence to support learning. Strengthening character education can be achieved through practical learning methods, character-based projects, and collaborative learning. Moreover, holistic Islamic scholarship emphasizes spiritual, intellectual, social, and moral aspects. By adopting the values and methods of Islamic education from the time of Prophet Muhammad and formulating a curriculum aligned with the needs of the current era, it is hoped that contemporary Islamic education can provide a profound and sustainable understanding for learners.

Intensifikasi Profil Pelajar Pancasila dan Implikasinya Terhadap Ketahanan Pribadi Siswa Pada Siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas (Studi SMA N 7 Kota Jambi)

This community service activity was motivated by the lack of optimal strengthening of character education through Pancasila student profiles for teachers in the field. The aims of this community service activity are to; 1) strengthen character and competence, 2) actively participate in planning active and sustainable learning, 3) develop skills, attitudes and knowledge, 4) solve problems in various learning situations, 5) be responsible and care about the surrounding situation and 6) respect learning so as to achieve educational goals. Based on the training that was carried out at SMA Negeri 7 Jambi City, this service activity received a positive response from the teachers who took part in this activity. This can be seen from the high enthusiasm of the teachers when participating in this training activity. The main thing that is done during the implementation of this service activity is that teachers who are training participants are asked to identify a problem related to character education through the Pancasila student profile. Then the teachers are given an understanding of the materials and problems related to strengthening character education. As feedback from this activity, the Education Coordinator and high school teachers said that they were willing to become target schools for various activities to improve the quality of education in their schools. The hope of the Jambi City Education Coordinator and the teachers at the Senior High School is that their school performance can continue to improve with the collaboration built with the Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi Islamic State University.

Teachers' Pedagogic Competence in Strengthening Character Education of Students in Elementary Schools : Exploring Effective Strategies

This study aims to explore effective strategies for improving teachers' pedagogical competence to strengthen learners' character education at the primary school level. The research method used was a literature study with a qualitative approach. Primary and secondary data were obtained from books, documents, and journals that were of the same relevance as this research. After the data was obtained, the data analysis technique for this research used content analysis. The results of the study found that teachers must master educational technology to improve teaching effectiveness and student engagement. It involved using digital tools for assessment, teaching, and communication with students and parents. Teachers needed to develop 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication. These skills were important to help students become individuals who are ready to face future challenges. Teachers should apply an adaptive pedagogical approach, tailoring teaching methods to students' individual needs, interests and abilities. It includes differentiated learning, formative assessment and the use of adaptive technology. Character education should be integrated in the curriculum by teaching universal and contextual values. A holistic approach, including project- and problem-based learning, is important to develop a strong student character relevant to modern challenges. Continuous professional training and development for teachers is key to ensuring they are up-to-date with best practices and innovations in education. This involves workshops, online courses, mentoring and collaboration within communities of practice. Modern assessment and reflection are important for monitoring student progress and evaluating teaching effectiveness. The use of formative and summative assessments, technology in assessment, and regular reflection by teachers and students can improve the quality of learning. Collaboration with parents, communities, educational institutions, government and non-profit organizations can strengthen character education and support teachers' pedagogical competencies.

Analisis Teks pada Buku Pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia Kelas X Terbitan Kemdikbud Edisi Revisi Tahun 2017

This study aims to conduct a text analysis on Indonesian language textbooks in Grade X by focusing on (1) Language Use in Indonesian Language Textbooks in Grade X, (2) Conformity of Indonesian Language Textbooks in Grade X to the 2013 Curriculum, (3) Conformity of Indonesian Language Textbook Discourse to Strengthening Character Education for Grade X Students, (4) Impact of Indonesian Language Textbooks on Learning for Grade X Students. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative research method with critical discourse analysis approach. The subject of this research is the Indonesian Language textbook Grade X for SMA/SMK, published by the Ministry of Education and Culture in the 2017 revised edition. The results showed that from (1) language use, (2) conformity with the 2013 curriculum, (3) conformity of discourse with strengthening character education, (4) the impact of textbooks on student learning is included in the good category, feasible, and in accordance with the level of understanding of students. In accordance with these findings, it is expected that the government and teachers should work together to develop and improve the quality of Indonesian language learning books to make them more interesting in accordance with the times, relevant, easy for students to understand

Analisis Implementasi Profil Pelajar Pancasila dalam Membentuk Karakter Siswa Kelas V SDN 2 Balerejo

Education is a process of developing all aspects of human life including knowledge, skills and character values. Western paradigms that enter Indonesia need to be sorted out, especially cultural deviations and Pancasila values. Strengthening character education seeks to shape student character to integrate Pancasila values, in order to create a generation with character, nationalist spirit, and global competence. The independent curriculum aims to realize Pancasila students through the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile which is divided into six dimensions, namely faith, devotion to God Almighty and noble character, critical thinking, global diversity, independence, creativity, and mutual cooperation. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection was done through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of student character education at SDN 2 Balerejo was carried out through learning activities, extracurricular activities, habituation, and the Student Character Education Strengthening Project. Supporting factors include school commitment, parental support and active student participation. However, there are some obstacles such as the lack of literacy, students' interest and willingness, and the low role of parents. This study suggests increasing school program innovation, improving parental support, and optimizing the learning process. Thus, it is expected that the Pancasila Student Profile can effectively shape students' character in accordance with the values of Pancasila and can be actualized in daily activities.

Character Education of Local Wisdom-Based: A Study of Moral Aspect of Quotes Belong to Bugis People

Research on character education is an important aspect in forming individual qualities, especially amidst the complex challenges that arise in this digital era. In this context, actualizing the value of character education based on local wisdom offers relevant and holistic solutions in dealing with current strategic issues. This research explores the importance of integrating local values into character education as an option to strengthen cultural identity, improve social and moral skills, and face complex social challenges in the digital era. The aim of this research is formulated as follows; 1) to explore the value of local wisdom that grows in society and has been passed down from generation to generation, and 2) to actualize the moral messages contained in the character teachings of indigenous communities which are very likely to contribute to character education. The qualitative descriptive research method was applied to achieve the research objectives. Data was collected through interviews, reading documents and reinterpreting the meaning behind quotes for character education. The results of the research show that there is potential for the oral quotes of pappaseng of Bugis to be a way of strengthening character education that is not understood by the millennial generation. They don't care because they think oral quotes are just false expressions that are no longer relevant to today's needs. The implications of this research raise new awareness among millennials in particular that they have a cultural heritage that is very important to preserve.

Optimizing the Role of Teachers in Strengthening Character Education to Prevent Bullying Behavior in the School Environment

We conducted research to find out the role of teachers in optimizing the character of education in the school environment so that bullying behavior does not occur at school. In the school where we researched, we did not find any bullying carried out by students, but we focused more on the role of teachers in strengthening the character of education so that there is always no bullying in the school environment. We conducted research at SMAN 4 Cibinong and SMPN 4 Serang City schools, which schools are in Serang City and Bogor Regency. For the method used we used qualitative research methods, where the data collection technique we used was using interviews. and observation, then apart from that also the data source, namely online via TV and social media as well as the results of the observations we made. At the school where we researched, we have carried out character education activities, which include praying Dhuha together, applying the 5s, namely smiling, greeting, saying hello, being polite and courteous. Apart from that, listening to teachers in giving advice before lessons start, education in schools can prevent bullying. The school where we conducted our research did not want its students to become perpetrators or even victims of bullying.

Integrating Experiential Learning and Character Education: The Effectiveness of a Hiking Game Technique Module

This study investigates the effectiveness of a hiking game technique group guidance module aimed at enhancing self-resilience among adolescents, a critical response to the challenge of juvenile delinquency exacerbated by insufficient educational and environmental support systems. Through a structured development process influenced by the Borg & Gall model, this research integrates experiential learning with character education, providing adolescents with the tools to navigate physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges. The module, which underwent rigorous validation by experts in guidance and counseling, is structured around activities that foster teamwork, problem-solving, and emotional management, thus proving effective in promoting resilience and character development in young individuals. The study's findings demonstrate the module's appropriateness and efficacy, suggesting that outdoor educational activities can be a vital part of contemporary educational strategies to address the multifaceted needs of adolescents, especially in promoting mental health and behavioral adjustment. This approach aligns with the goals of strengthening character education through practical, real-world applications, although the COVID-19 pandemic posed limitations to direct field testing.
