The preparation of the mixed-ligand complexes [OsCl χJ 6-χ] 2−, x = 0, 2–6 is described. Using the different trans-effects of the ligands directed stereospecific substitution reactions enable the preparation of pure cis- and trans-isomers for x = 2, 3, 4. From solutions containing several mixed-ligand complexions, these can be isolated by means of highvoltage-ionophoresis. Their Cs-salts are stable. In aqueous solutions, especially the complexes containing much J are strongly hydrolysing. The stereoisomers are different in colours. Their absorption spectra show many bands and exhibit systematic shifts.
