Professional competence of school counselors in guidance and counseling services

The professional competence of guidance and counseling teachers is an important aspect and affects the quality of guidance and counseling services provided by school counselor. As a guidance and counseling teacher, it is important and necessary to acquire professional competencies to facilitate the needs of students at school and to be able to provide the best service in helping students. The school counsellor profession is a job that is required special requirements so that in the implementation of the services provided can convince and gain the trust of those who need help. The professional competency standards of guidance and counseling teachers refer to whether they can master concepts, live and embody values, provide and demonstrate assistance, and professional performance of their responsibility. The research method used to achieve this goal is Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The results of some literature show that most guidance and counseling teachers have fulfilled professional competencies with high categories, this is shown by the guidance and counseling services provided in accordance with existing standards. However, this study also shows that some other guidance and counseling teachers are still in the medium and low categories. This affects the effectiveness of the services provided, so that guidance and counseling teachers need to improve their professional competence.

Determine the Competency Development Strategy of Labor Social Security Practitioners

The purpose of this research is to map out the most important and most certain strategic assumptions related to the management of the competence of labor social security practitioners, and to determine the strategies that will be applied in developing the competence of labor social security practitioners at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan. Primary data were obtained from questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) involving 13 respondents who were experts on employment social security. The data processing and analysis technique uses the Strategic Assumption Surfacing and Testing (SAST) method to identify the strategic assumptions underlying the determination of the competency development strategy of the labor social security practitioners, and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method to determine the priority of the competency development strategies. This study found that the variable of information technology advancement in supporting the competency development process of labor social security practitioners is a very very important and very very definite strategic assumption that influences the determination of competency development strategies for labor social security practitioners. This study also found that the alternative strategy considered to be the primary priority is implementing the technical professional competency standards of employment social security.

'Patient' or 'professional'? Negotiating accommodations and identity in fieldwork education.

Despite legislation mandating accommodation policies in postsecondary education, support for students with disabilities is often not implemented within health and human services (HHS) education programs, particularly in fieldwork settings. As part of a Canada-wide study exploring the experiences of disabled students in 10 HHS programs, we examined how HHS students described their experiences accessing accommodations in fieldwork to understand how conceptions of disability relate to students' fieldwork experiences. Using a critical disability studies framework, we explored how HHS fieldwork education understands disability, accommodations and professional competence and what those understandings reveal about the discrepancy between mandated accommodations and what happens in practice. Thirty-five students requiring accommodations in HHS fieldwork education participated in interviews. Through a critical interpretive analysis of interview data, we developed first-person composite narratives to show the richness and complexity of the students' diverse, yet similar, subjective experiences with fieldwork accommodations. Two composite narratives demonstrate how conceptions of disability incommensurate with professional competence expectations influenced student experiences with disclosing disability and obtaining accommodations in fieldwork. Fear of stigma and having one's competence questioned, or having accommodation requests denied for being misaligned with professional expectations, demonstrate how HHS fieldwork education and practice are upheld by ableist systemic structures. The dominant medical model of disability in HHS education creates institutional barriers that require students to constantly (re)construct their 'professional' identity in relation to their 'patient' identity. This patient-professional identity construction relates to HHS professional competency standards and assumptions about what makes a 'good' professional. Suggestions include reworking competency standards and implementing critical pedagogical approaches to teach future and current HHS professionals to question both personal and practice assumptions. With institutional backing, such changes may support diversity within HHS and a culture shift toward more equitable education and health care.

Promoting Digital Literacy: Assessing Teachers Readiness in Utilizing Information and Communication Technology for Learning in Rural Area

This research aims to evaluate and ascertain the readiness of teachers to utilize Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in educational settings, with a particular focus on rural environments. By examining teachers' preparedness in employing ICT, the study sheds light on the unique conditions and phenomena associated with technology use in learning activities in rural areas. The methodology adopted for this research was a descriptive qualitative approach, using a case study design focused on the island of Belitung. The study involved 12 classroom teachers from three elementary schools in Badau Village as research subjects. Data were gathered through interviews and document analysis, employing thematic analysis techniques for data interpretation. To ensure the validity of the data, techniques of technical and source triangulation were used. The findings indicate six themes regarding the teachers' readiness to use ICT, including teachers' proficiency in operating laptops/computers, and their capability to plan, select, and integrate ICT tools for educational and administrative purposes. Additionally, skills in collaboration, using the internet, and leveraging other advanced applications are deemed crucial. The study also reveals that teachers need to comprehend their roles and functions in adapting to ICT developments, thereby aligning their readiness with the standards of professional teacher competency. The study highlights the need for teachers to understand their roles in ICT adaptation, aligning with professional competency standards. These insights provide a framework for future research, policymaking, and practice enhancement in educational ICT, aiming to improve educational quality and effectiveness in the digital age.

Strategy for Teachers Management in Binhai School in Xiashan District, Zhanjiang

Focusing on teacher management in private basic education schools in China, this paper makes it clear that the stable development of teachers, as the core resources of the school and the sowers of human civilization, is crucial to the sustainable development of private schools. The authors emphasize that for private schools to achieve long-term development, it is essential to build a team of teachers with strong professional competence and high business standards. Problems in teacher management include insufficient talent pool, unstable team building, unfair salary and remuneration, and unstandardized management system, which originate from the government and social environment as well as the school’s own management level. This article proposes guiding principles for teacher management, which are mainly divided into four aspects: teacher tenure system, teacher training system, teacher incentive mechanism and teacher evaluation system. The article concludes that teachers determine the quality of education and the quality of talents produced, and that private schools must develop good guidelines for teacher management in order to achieve sustainable development. For private schools, teacher management is a project that requires long-term persistence and systematic practice, involving various aspects of work. Given the limited number of years available for the study, it is recommended that guidelines for medium- and long-term teacher management in private basic education schools be further explored in the context of teacher development planning.

Arabic Teachers: Professional Competence and Reflective Teaching

This article discusses the professional competence of Arabic language teachers in several schools in the Central Kalimantan region which have not been met according to the standards set by the Regulation of the Minister of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number 16 of 2007 concerning Academic Qualification Standards and Teacher Competency. Research using qualitative method. Through the results of the research, three Arabic teachers were found with inappropriate educational backgrounds. However, in the learning reflection process, the three Arabic teachers carried out various reflection activities, such as learning evaluation, classroom action research, self-study, self-observation, and student responses, attending training, implementing innovations, recording the learning process, analyzing needs. students, and address the needs of students by needs analysis. From the results of this study, the researcher recommends that Arabic teachers reflect regularly to improve the quality of learning and meet established professional competency standards.

Reform and Practice of "Classroom Revolution" based on the Application of Mechatronics System of New Generation Information Technology

The new generation of information technology has brought tremendous transformative momentum to traditional teaching models. This article proposes a three-stage and three-level closed-loop classroom-teaching model that meets the needs of information technology, professional competence standards, and requirements. It realizes the synchronization of teacher teaching and application, the integration of student learning and application, and the combination of virtual and reality. It also diversified the infiltration and education, providing help for students to complete three-dimensional and comprehensive learning and training closed-loop, and promoting the improvement of the quality of higher vocational education.

Midwive Competency Training Management Models in Health Promotion in Stunting-Based Prevention Collaborative Innovative Participation (Pilar) in West Nias District

A midwife is a woman who has completed a midwifery education program both domestically and abroad which is legally recognized by the Central Government and has met the requirements to practice midwifery. In carrying out their duties, midwives need good quality. Midwife competence is the ability and characteristics that include knowledge, skills and professional attitudes in carrying out their duties and work effectively that must be owned by a midwife, but in reality the midwife has not fully carried out her duties according to professional competency standards and gaps from ideal conditions and has not been carried out effectively. Midwives are health workers who are qualified to contribute to reducing maternal and child mortality and play a role in reducing stunting rates, this is because midwives are directly involved with women who are program objectives. Knowledge of midwives that has an impact on behavior where with good knowledge of midwives about stunting prevention, the better the knowledge of midwives, the better the quality of Ante Natal Care (ANC) services in preventing stunting. Training is a process of increasing systematically and in accordance with the needs of employees by increasing skills, knowledge and understanding as well as self-motivation. The development of a Participatory Innovative Collaborative (Pillar) training management model is an intervention model that has been analyzed, developed, tested, revised and implemented to obtain feedback that has an effect on the training objectives.

Ethics and the Role of Accountants Facing the Current Industrial Revolution

Accountants as a profession are required to keep abreast of developments in an increasingly globalized world. In the current era of the Industrial Revolution, the Indonesian accounting profession must respond to these challenges by strengthening expertise, opening insights both independently and in groups, instilling high values and ethics to contribute in order to withstand pressure and win the competition. Accountants have a code of ethics that regulates professional ethics issued by the Indonesian Institute of Accountants under the name Professional Ethics of Accountants. The code of ethics for the accounting profession is used as a basis for ethical behavior and becomes a guarantee of quality morals in society. The development of the digital economy has changed the role of accountants from book-keeping to internal control and information analysis for management, as well as increasing competition in the field of accounting education. Students are required to understand and follow the code of ethics for the accounting profession as the basis for their future professionalism, which can be learned through professional ethics courses. Understanding the code of ethics will help students behave ethically at work and position themselves as professional accountants. The code of ethics for the accounting profession contains principles and rules that must be obeyed by accountants, such as professional responsibility, integrity, objectivity, competence, confidentiality, professional behavior, and technical standards. This article aims to explain narratively the role of ethical accountants in facing the industrial revolution. Accountants face a number of challenges in carrying out their roles and obligations. It is recommended that all interested parties jointly take a role and help each other to make improvements in upholding professional ethics.

Updating the Standards of Professional Competence in the Field of Toxicology: The Second Generation of Best Practice.

The American Board of Toxicology (ABT), in consultation with ACT Credentialing & Career Services (ACT), performed a practice analysis study of general toxicology in 2020-21. This work follows up on an initial practice analysis commissioned by the ABT and conducted in 2014-2015, results of which were published in 2016. The purpose of the current, second-generation study was to update and validate the existing process-based delineation of practice of general toxicologists, including major domains of responsibility and tasks performed in practice. In addition, the study included the review, update, and validation of the knowledge areas required by toxicologists developed by subject-matter experts (SMEs) that have been used for ABT examination development initiatives. Consistent with best practices in the field of credentialing, ABT also contracted with ACT to conduct 2 follow-on activities: a study to evaluate the reliability of a reduced-length ABT examination and a standard setting study to establish a valid passing score for the updated examination. In addition to informing ongoing ABT certification examination and question writing activities, it is anticipated that the results of this practice analysis will be of value to those responsible for developing graduate and undergraduate toxicology curricula, creating continuing education content, and authoring textbooks covering the contemporary practice of toxicology.

Analisis Tingkat Kompetensi Guru Sekolah Dasar Guna Mewujudkan Profesional dalam Pembelajaran

The purpose of this study is to find out how the level of professional ability of elementary school teachers, especially in pedagogic, interpersonal, communication and information technology competencies in the province of D.I. Yogyakarta. The research method used is descriptive quantitative method. The subjects of this research are elementary school teachers in Yogyakarta. The number of teachers who became the subject was 16 teachers from the primary school level, both public and private, in the province of Yogyakarta. The collection of research data was obtained through a closed questionnaire with a Google Form Linkert scale. The results of the study indicate that the average percentage of the overall professional competence of teachers in the realm of interpersonal, communication, information technology and pedagogy competencies, the overall average is 95% appropriate and valid. Based on this, it can be concluded that the competencies possessed by new and old teachers are in accordance with professional competency standards that have been established through indicators set by researchers.

Evaluasi Implementasi Program Peningkatan Kompetensi Profesional Guru Dalam Upaya Meningkatkan Mutu Lulusan Sekolah Dasar Negeri Kedaung Wetan 7 Kecamatan Neglasari Kota Tangerang Banten

This journal aims to identify, analyze and evaluate the implementation of teacher competency improvement programs in an effort to improve the quality of graduates of SD Negeri Kedaung Wetan 7, Neglasari District, Tangerang City, Banten. The method used is descriptive qualitative method, including data collection using observation, interviews and documentation. Interviews were conducted with principals, vice principals, teachers, school committees, parents and students. Evaluation analysis using a discrepancy evaluation model. The findings of this study: (1) Preparation of the design in the form of guidelines or standards of professional competence of teachers. (2) The installation of a review of standards or guidelines for the implementation of teacher professional competence improvement and infrastructure facilities have not fully supported the improvement of teacher professional competence. (3) Process: the obstacles for teachers have not carried out their duties and functions as educators and reformers. Improving the quality of graduates is marked by the achievement of KKM scores and changes in students: more disciplined, creative and innovative in terms of cognitive, affective and psychomotor. (4) The results of improving the professional competence of teachers can be felt by schools, teachers and students. It directly affects the quality of graduates. (5) Comparison. The improvement of the professional competence of teachers continues on an ongoing basis and is recorded in the form of written reports and submitted in stages to education policy makers. Various efforts made by the school management must be balanced with good collaboration and cooperation with parents and other school community members. Suggestions from parents are also very meaningful for schools in carrying out improving the professional competence of teachers in their own schools. This research is expected to: (1) increase the knowledge and insight of researchers, (2) materials for self-introspection and future teacher career development, especially teacher professional competence and the quality of graduates, (3) consideration for school principals, especially in determining policies for evaluating professional competence programs teachers and the quality of graduates and (4) material for consideration of central or regional government policies so that efforts to increase the distribution of education quality through teacher competence.

Incorporating research training into undergraduate pharmacy courses: A case study from Australia

There is a dearth of research on the undergraduate research training provided to pharmacy students. We aimed to identify and provide examples of effective pedagogy in teaching research and evidence-based practice (EBP) to undergraduate pharmacy students. In conjunction with the professional competency standards for pharmacists, a review of the pharmacy workforce needs and the relevant pedagogical literature, a range of evidence-based approaches for selecting unit content, teaching and assessment strategies was identified. The authors reflect on the evidence and their multidisciplinary experiences in developing curriculum to demonstrate how pharmacy students can be engaged in deep learning rather than surface learning. Effective pedagogy in research training for pharmacy students will ultimately improve the quality of pharmacy education and the use of EBP principles in practice.

Profil guru sekolah dasar dalam mengimplementasikan pembelajaran daring berbasis media aplikasi

<p><em>This study aims to 1) find out the profile of teachers in implementing online learning based on application media 2) find out the obstacles experienced by teachers in implementing online learning based on application media. This research was conducted at SD Negeri Mangkubumen Kidul No. 16 Surakarta uses a qualitative descriptive method. The subjects of this study were teachers of class I to class VI. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and documentation. Learning is carried out online using the internet and media applications such as whatsapp, zoom, google form, and google meet. The learning process is carried out with due regard to teacher competency standards, namely 1) pedagogic competency standards 2) professional competency standards 3) personality competency standards 4) social competency standards. In carrying out the learning process, the teacher encountered several obstacles. However, the process of implementing online learning at SD Negeri Mangkubumen Kidul No. 16 Surakarta can be said to be quite good.</em></p>

THE EFFECT OF AMIL’S ISLAMIC CHARACTERISTICS ON THE QUALITY OF FINANCIAL REPORTING OF ZAKAT MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATIONS (ZMO): GOOD GOVERNANCE AS INTERVENING VARIABLE

The objective of this research is to analyze the effect of Amil's Islamic Characteristics on Quality of Financial Reporting and Good Governance as an Intervening Variable in Zakat Management Organizations (ZMO). The research used the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method with SmartPLS software to analyze data from 204 samples of commissioners and administrators of Zakat Management Organization. The results show that the character of trustworthiness, professionalism, and good governance had a positive and significant effect on the quality of Financial Reporting. In contrast, Islamic religiosity has no impact on the quality of financial reporting. The results also show that Islamic religiosity, trustworthiness, and professionalism had a positive and significant effect on good governance. Good governance played a role in mediating the influence of trustworthiness on the quality of Financial Reporting. The research findings provide managerial implications for ZMO and the government to utilize Islamic religiosity and character of trustworthiness as qualitative standards in Amil recruitment. Furthermore, it allows them to create and set Amil’s professional competency standards, including the fields of accounting and management, and provide Amil professional certification as well as establish Amil Professional Associations.

Development of a professional competency framework for Australian sonographers-perspectives for developing competencies using a Delphi methodology.

BackgroundProfessional competencies are important for enhancing alignment between the needs of education, industry and health consumers, whilst describing public expectations around health professionals. The development of competency standards for the sonography profession defines the behaviours, skills and knowledge sonographers should demonstrate for each learning and experience level.ObjectiveThe objective of this project was to develop a set of professional competency standards for the sonography profession which described in depth the behaviours, skills and knowledge sonographers should demonstrate across multiple learning and experience levels.MethodsRepresentatives of three Australian ultrasound professional associations and seven tertiary institutions involved in entry-level sonographer education in Australia formed a research team (RT). The RT recruited an expert panel that responded to six survey rounds. Using a Delphi methodology, the results and free-text comments from each previous round were fed back to participants in the subsequent survey rounds to achieve a consensus.ResultsThe project developed a professional competency framework for sonographers, which included four major domains: detailed competency standards, sonographer knowledge, sonographer attitudes and a holistic competency matrix [https://doi.org/10.6084/m9.figshare.17148035.v2.]ConclusionThe Delphi methodology is an effective way to develop professional competency standards. This paper describes the methods and challenges in developing such standards for sonographers which could be translated to other health professionals.

Development of the Student Practice Evaluation Form - Revised (Second Edition) (SPEF-R2): The second action research cycle.

IntroductionThe Student Practice Evaluation Form – Revised Edition (SPEF‐R) was used across Australian universities from 2008 to 2020 to assess occupational therapy student performance on practice placement. Evolution of practice contexts, placement models and professional competency standards prompted updating of the tool. This paper describes the second and final action research cycle in the development of the SPEF‐R2.MethodsCycle 2 included three phases: (a) piloting of the SPEF‐R2 and post‐pilot survey to determine utility and applicability; (b) post‐pilot focus groups/interviews; and (c) final amendments for publication and launch. Quantitative data were summarised descriptively, and qualitative data were analysed using qualitative content analysis and reported using illustrative quotes.ResultsIn Phase 1, 23 participants piloted the SPEF‐R2 and completed a post‐pilot survey. Results indicated participants found the SPEF‐R2 relevant to a range of traditional and contemporary settings, easy to understand and an improvement over the previous version of the tool. Most participants found it more concise and less repetitive than the SPEF‐R. Participants particularly valued additions regarding culturally responsive practice, student health and well‐being and reflective practice. In Phase 2, five post‐pilot focus groups/interviews were held, gathering a deeper understanding of its utility. Discussion highlighted desire for an additional core item within the self‐management domain (Domain Two). Increased confidence in rating and provision of feedback on student performance were also evident. Reflection on findings led to final amendments and publication of the SPEF‐R2.ConclusionExtensive consultation with the occupational therapy community informed the development of the SPEF‐R2, reflecting contemporary practice and meeting the expectations of Australian occupational therapists. Action research was an effective approach to the development of the SPEF‐R2. Use of the manual and training website and support from universities are paramount if practice educators are to use the tool effectively.

Factors influencing the rating of sonographer students’ clinical performance

IntroductionLittle is known about the factors influencing clinical supervisor-assessors’ ratings of sonographer students’ performance. This study identifies these influential factors and relates them to professional competency standards, with the aim of raising awareness and improving assessment practice. MethodsThis study used archived written comments from 94 clinical assessors describing 174 sonographer students’ performance one month into their initial clinical practice (2015–6). Qualitative mixed method analysis revealed factors influencing assessor ratings of student performance and provided an estimate of the valency, association, and frequency of these factors. ResultsAssessors provided written comments for 93 % (n = 162/174) of students. Comments totaled 7190 words (mean of 44 words/student). One-third of comment paragraphs were wholly positive, two-thirds were equivocal. None were wholly negative. Thematic analysis revealed eleven factors, and eight sub-factors, influencing assessor impressions of five dimensions of performance. Of the factors mentioned, 84.6 % (n = 853/1008) related to professional competencies. While 15.4 % (n = 155/1008) were unrelated to competencies, instead reflecting humanistic factors such as student motivation, disposition, approach to learning, prospects and impact on supervisor and staff. Factors were prioritised and combined independently, although some associated. ConclusionClinical assessors formed impressions based on student performance, humanistic behaviours and personal qualities not necessarily outlined in educational outcomes or professional competency standards. Their presence, and interrelations, impact success in clinical practice, through their contribution to, and indication of, competence. Implications for practiceSonographer student curricula and assessor training should raise awareness of the factors influencing performance ratings and judgement of clinical competence, particularly the importance of humanistic factors. Inclusion of narrative comments, multiple assessors, and broad performance dimensions would enhance clinical assessment of sonographer student performance.

Evaluasi Kompetensi Profesional Guru IPS pada MTs di Kecamatan Mranggen Kabupaten Demak

Abstrak
 This study seeks to determine the professional competence of social studies teachers and how individual background factors affect professional competence. This research is a type of evaluation research, using the Benchmarking evaluation model, in which the results obtained will be compared with the professional competency standards of teachers prevailing in Indonesia. The study population was all social studies teachers at MTs in Mranggen District, amounting to 31 people. The data analysis technique used is quantitative analysis. The data analysis step of this research is descriptive data analysis and regression test. The results showed that 32.2% of the teachers had professional competence in the very good category, 25.8% in the good category, and 34.4% in the sufficient category. The regression results show that there is an effect of individual teacher factors on the formation of the professional competence of social studies teachers at MTs in Mranggen District. Teaching experience has the greatest influence in the formation of teacher professional competence, namely 44.63%, then the work environment is 31.16%, educational background is 25.80% and training experience is 0.35%.
