The Hawaii Osteoporosis Center’s website provides an information tool, the Remaining Lifetime Fracture Probability, that practitioners can use to make clinical decisions for osteoporosis patients quickly and easily. The Remaining Lifetime Fracture Probability is a standardized risk assessment tool which provides physicians with a simple report and enables them to develop a treatment plan within minutes. The report places patients in one of four categories, each of which outlines treatment options. Researchers are currently working to incorporate resorption markers into the model as independent predictors of risk.
