Analysis of China students’ laboratory accidents in the past 39 years and the laboratory management reform in the future

In the recent 39 years, China colleges and universities have developed drastically. However, the colleges’ laboratory accidents also rise significantly. This paper analyzed 197 China college accidents. The results show that the highest percentage of safety accidents are hazardous chemicals. Most of the injured parts of the 416 casualties are concentrated in the front upper body. The author finds that there is a certain correlation between the percentage of accidents and the number of students, as well as the number of scientific research activities. Based on the findings, the author points out: firstly, the college safety department should build a laboratory safety information sharing and analysis platform. The dynamic information includes hazardous chemicals, students, dangerous equipment, research experiments, etc. Secondly, China colleges and universities should build a laboratory safety education system with Chinese characteristics, incorporating laboratory safety education into the training of students. Finally, it is urgent to establish a professional team to fully implement the laboratory safety responsibility system; to establish a laboratory hierarchical and classified management system and to improve experiment project risk assessment and control; to carry out a special inspection on laboratory safety; to carry out standardized construction and to establish standardized process management procedures.

Construction of Safety Production Standardization Information System of Ninggang

Different from other enterprises, the complexity of the production process and production environment of iron and steel enterprises has led to a very serious safety situation, which not only endangers the lives of many workers, but also has an extremely bad impact on society. It is very necessary to put forward higher requirements on safety management for iron and steel enterprises. Based on the standardization of enterprise safety production, this paper builds a safety production standardization information system with Ningbo Iron and Steel Grid Company Limited. (hereinafter referred to as Ninggang) as an example, combined with Internet intelligent tools, to assist enterprises to complete the construction of safety production standardization and improve the safety management efficiency of iron and steel enterprises.

Reuse and Retrofitting Strategies for a Net Zero Carbon Building in Milan: An Analytic Evaluation

The building sector accounts for 38% of carbon emissions, the principal cause of climate change. To meet the targets set by the Paris Agreement, including zero net emissions by 2050, it is necessary that governments develop a culture of sustainability. Whole Life Carbon Assessment of a building, comprehensive of operational and embodied carbon (EC), is described by EN15978:2011. Net Zero Carbon Buildings (NZCB) achieve a balance of zero emissions during their life cycle, promoting both reduction and compensation by adopting many strategies (e.g., reuse of existing structures, design for adaptability and disassembly, circular economy principles). Choosing bio-based materials is also helpful to compensate for EC, thanks to the biogenic carbon stored during their growth. The aim of this research is to find out which strategies are relevant to meet NZCB target, in order to apply them to a case study of reuse of an abandoned building in Milan, highlighting the design process. Material quantities were extracted from the BIM model and imported in OneClick LCA to assess embodied carbon emissions (A1–A5 modules, material production and supply, transport, construction). The final design stage achieved a reduction of 91% in EC compared to a standard new construction, while the bio-based materials compensated for the rest. Further research can improve the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) of materials and assess the entire building life cycle.

This paper deals with head-marked nominal possessors in Nganasan, i. e., constructions with the possessor in the Nominative and possessive markers on the possessee. It is shown that this construction is only used when the possessor is topical and the possessee is in focus. All other combinations of topic/focus and possessor/possessee with a nominal possessor use the standard dependent-marking construction: the possessor stands in the Genitive and the possessee is unmarked.

Bodily Practices and Healthy Bodies: Representations of Gymnastics in a Brazilian Women’s Magazine (1940–1950)

This research aims to understand the influence of bodily practices, especially gymnastics, in the construction of representations of a healthy body conveyed in a Brazilian women's magazine in the 1940s and 1950s. We use records from the Jornal das Moças magazine for the analysis based on the theoretical and methodological assumptions of cultural history. The results show that gymnastics for women was linked to body maintenance and used as a tool for establishing a body standard, thus disciplining and shapingthe construction of women's health concepts, determined by the aesthetic bias of that period: a slim body as an ideal standard of beauty and health.

Standard generators of finite fields and their cyclic subgroups

We define standard constructions of finite fields, and standard generators of (multiplicative) cyclic subgroups in these fields.The motivation is to provide a substitute for Conway polynomials which can be used by various software packages and in collections of mathematical data which involve finite fields.

Identifying factors that predict seatbelt use among drivers in Queensland, Australia using an extended theory of planned behaviour

ObjectiveAlthough seatbelt wearing rates among drivers and other vehicle occupants are relatively high in Australia, approximately-one third of vehicle occupants killed in crashes are unrestrained. The aim of this study was to identify factors that predict intentions to always wear a seatbelt as both a driver and passenger, through the use of an extended Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB). MethodsThis study used a mixed methods design, consisting of both qualitative (Phase 1- focus groups) and quantitative (Phase 2- Survey) methods with licensed Queensland (state of Australia where the study was conducted) drivers. In Phase 2, a convenience sample of 125 participants responded to an online survey. The survey assessed intentions to always wear a seatbelt both as a driver and as a passenger. ResultsThe results of Phase 1 revealed the salient normative, behavioural, and control beliefs underpinning this behaviour. These beliefs were incorporated into the survey for Phase 2. The results of Phase 2 identified that the standard TPB constructs accounted for 70.5% of the variance in intention to always wear a seatbelt as a driver and 51% of the variance in intention as a passenger. However, perceived behavioural control (PBC) and subjective norm were the only significant predictors of intention to always wear a seatbelt as a driver, while subjective norm was the only significant predictor of intention as a passenger. The extended TPB explained a significant amount of additional variance over and above the standard TPB for both the driver (2.1%) and the passenger (15.2%) contexts. Mediation analyses also confirmed the importance of considering not only the direct but also indirect effects of the study’s key constructs. Results confirmed the perspective that past behaviour’s effect is at least partially, and in the case of the relationship between past behaviour and attitude, fully mediated by habit. ConclusionThe results confirmed that while most participants reported always wearing their seatbelt irrespective of whether they were said to be a driver or passenger in a vehicle, there are some instances where they may be less likely to wear their seatbelt. The study highlights the complexities associated with understanding the motivations of seatbelt wearing intentions and the need for further research to ensure the motivations underpinning seatbelt use are well-understood. Such motivations need to be clear to help inform the development of future, targeted interventions to enhance seatbelt wearing intentions and ultimately behaviour.

Application of Solidified Materials in Construction Roads of High Standard Farmland Projects

Road construction in high standard farmland construction projects has always been the focus of project construction. Mud stone road construction is often used in the tableland area. Due to the impact of rainfall scouring, mud stone roads are often damaged. As a new high-performance curing agent that can optimize and improve the soil, the new soil curing material can ensure that the strength of the subgrade can be effectively enhanced, facilitate the smooth implementation of the construction link, and maximize the quality and efficiency of road construction, which has a good promotion value.

Phase boundaries and the Widom line from the Ruppeiner geometry of fluids.

The Ruppeiner geometry has been shown to provide novel ways for constructing the phase boundaries and the Widom line of certain fluids. This paper examines the applicability of these geometric constructions to more general fluids. We develop a general equation-of-state expansion for fluids near a critical point that mainly assumes analyticity with respect to the number density. Based on this general parametrization of fluids, we prove the equivalence of the Ruppeiner geometric construction and the standard Maxwell construction of phase boundaries near the critical point. In contrast, we find that the usual prescription based on the Ruppeiner geometry for the Widom line does not produce the expected Widom line for arbitrary cases of our general fluid equationof state. This usual prescription relies on the Ruppeiner metric induced on a particular hypersurface of the thermodynamic manifold. We show that by choosing a different hypersurface, which we call the Ruppeiner-N surface, and using its associated induced metric, the Ruppeiner construction generates the entire Widom line of the van der Waals fluid exactly, even away from the critical point. Interestingly, this alternative hypersurface yields another benefit. It improves the classification scheme originally proposed by Diósi etal. for partitioning the van der Waals state space into its different phases using geodesics of a thermodynamic metric. We argue that, whereas the original Diósi boundaries did not correspond to any clear thermodynamic lines, the corresponding boundaries based on the Ruppeiner-N metric become sensitive to the presence of the van der Waals Widom line and provide the correct classification of all van der Waals states. These results suggest that the Ruppeiner-N surface may be the more appropriate hypersurface to use when studying phase diagrams with thermodynamic geometry.

On the Prevention and Control of Public Security and the Modernization Construction of Police Organizational form in the Pearl River Delta

With the deepening development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the water security situation is becoming increasingly tense and causing frequent illegal and criminal incidents on the water, which has brought great harm to the economy and people's lives in the Bay Area. On the surface of the public security analysis, the public security organs to the importance of the water police is the direct reason of the deterioration of the water security situation. The deep factors include the existing problems in the form of police organization form in the Pearl River Delta, the lack of police talents in foreign-related waters, the formation of mass prevention and mass governance network by unrelated people, the urgent need of water-related laws, and the fuzzy police organization form in water waters. The prevention and control of public security in waters should start from strengthening the legal standardization and unity construction of water area public security law enforcement, developing the academic education of water area police officers, cultivating professional water area police talents and strengthening the joint prevention and cooperation mechanism of public security in the Pearl River Delta region.

A Spatial Equilibrium Evaluation of Primary Education Services Based on Living Circle Models: A Case Study within the City of Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province, China

Primary education services are a key component of public infrastructure. These services exert significant impacts on public activity, sustainability, and healthy socio-economic development. This research applies the concept of a ‘living circle’ in order to evaluate the spatial equilibrium of education services in existing primary schools. This has enabled equilibrium planning schemes to be proposed for primary schools as well as the promotion and construction of livable and defensible living spaces. This area remains a key issue, however, one that urgently needs to be addressed in terms of the layout of public infrastructural services to facilitate livable living space construction. Thus, from the perspective of livable and defensible living space construction, the aim of this study was to construct a primary education equalization assessment method based on the walking living circle method. An equilibrium index was also designed based on the number of primary school students; this was then combined with the standard construction of new primary schools to optimize the spatial equilibrium of these education services. The city of Zhangjiakou City was then used as a case study; the spatial equilibrium of primary education services was evaluated across four living circle scenarios (i.e., 15 min, 20 min, 25 min, and 30 min). Results reveal that the city of Zhangjiakou currently offers dramatically spatially negative non-equilibrium primary education services (i.e., supply < demand) across four living circle scenarios, but most notably in rural areas away from urban areas and towns, especially in the counties of Shangyi, Chicheng, Chongli, Kangbao, and Guyuan. It is interesting to note that all living circle scenarios could enable positive non-equilibrium primary education services (i.e., supply > demand), mainly within the urban districts of Qiaodong, Xuanhua, Qiaoxi, Wanquan, and Xiahuayuan. It is also clear that equilibrium living circles are distributed across all counties. A spatial optimization proposal for primary school services should therefore be presented that alleviates the issues inherent to non-equilibrium primary education services. The results of this study offer a number of suggestions for education service optimization across the city of Zhangjiakou as well as for other cities in China. We also provide further scientific foundations for research on livable space and defensible unit construction as well as the spatial equilibrium evaluation of other public infrastructural service facilities

Research on the standardization model of data semantics in the knowledge graph construction of Oil&Gas industry

At present, knowledge graphs in both general and vertical fields rarely consider the problem of data semantic standardization in the process of constructing from a global perspective, which brings trouble and loss to the sharing and interoperability of domain information. Therefore, it is very important to construct a set of standardized and semantically consistent knowledge organization model, and to propose a data semantics standardization methodology on this basis, so as to fundamentally solve this serious problem that hinders data sharing. This paper first proposes a model of data semantic standardization theoretically through the research on knowledge organization, concept triangle and concept logic and other theories, combined with ISO 1087 international standard, and proposes the important idea that the key issue of data semantic standardization is conceptual standardization as the core. Then, based on this theoretical model, a comprehensive study and combing of various vocabulary standards in the international Oil&Gas industry was carried out, and the Oil&Gas industry reference vocabulary standardization model (OIRVSM) used to guide the construction of data semantic standards in the oil and gas industry is proposed. Finally, under the guidance of the W3C best practice framework, combined with the proposed model, an operational algorithm for constructing standardized knowledge graph (ACSKG) in Oil&Gas industry and a construction example are given, which verifies the rationality and correctness of data semantic standardization model and vocabulary standard system model. The two models proposed in this paper are innovative. Although they are proposed in the context of Oil&Gas industry, they also have application and reference significance in other fields.

New Advances, Challenges and Opportunities in Forensic Applications of Microbiomics.

The succession of microbiota is closely associated with several essential factors, including race, sex, health condition, lifestyle, postmortem interval, etc., and it has great potential application value in forensic medicine. This paper summarizes recent studies on the forensic applications of the microbiome, including individual identification, geographical feature identification, origin identification of the tissue or body fluid, and postmortem interval estimation, and introduces the current machine learning algorithms for microbiology research based on next-generation sequencing data. In addition, the current problems facing forensic microbiomics such as the extraction and preservation of samples, construction of standardization and database, ethical review and practical applicability are discussed. Future multi-omics studies are expected to explore micro ecosystems from a comprehensive and dynamic perspective, to promote the development of forensic microbiomics application.

The following article describes the research developed at Unbabel, a Portuguese Machine-Translation start-up, that combines Machine Translation (MT) with human post-edition with a focus on customer service content. With the work carried out within a real multilingual AI powered, human-refined, MT industry, we aim to contribute to furthering MT quality and good-practices, by exposing the importance of having continuously in development, robust Named Entity Recognition systems for General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance. We will report three different experiments, resulting from a shared work with Unbabel´s linguists and Unbabel´s Artificial Intelligence (AI) engineering team, matured over a year. The first experiment focused on developing a methodology for the identification and annotation of domain-specific Named Entities (NEs) for the Food-Industry. The devised methodology allows the construction of gold standards for building domain specific NER systems and can be applied for a myriad of different domains. With the implementation of the designed method, we were able to identify the following domain-specific NEs set: Restaurant Names; Restaurant Chains; Dishes; Beverage, Ingredients. The second and third experiments explored the possibilities of constructing, in a semi-automatically way, multilingual NER gold standards for different domains and language pairs, using aligners that project Named Entities across a parallel corpus. Both experiments made it possible to benchmark four different open-source aligners (SimAlign; Fastalign; AwesomeAlign; Eflomal), allowing to identify the one with better performance and, simultaneously, validate the aforementioned approach. This work should be taken as a statement of multidisciplinary, proving and validating the much-needed articulation between different scientific fields that compose and characterize the area of Natural Language Processing (NLP).

Lex Constructionis as a Regulator of an International Construction Contract in Russia

Introduction. The gaps in the international private legal regulation of legal relations arising from an international construction contract are filled by other sources of law, primarily Lex constructionis, which is a set of acts and documents developed by non-governmental organizations that do not have the force of law, but are actively used in business circulation.FIDIC contracts can be cited as standard contracts, which are a set of narrowly focused standard forms of contracts, each of which was developed for a specific situation and certain legal relations arising from an international construction contract.Despite the international and narrowly focused nature of the FIDIC agreements, their application is also possible in the national projects of Russia with some reservations.The purpose of this article is to analyze Lex constructionis on the example of standard FIDIC con- tracts and the possibility of using FIDIC contracts in national projects in Russia.Materials and methods. The implementation of the research tasks was achieved on the basis of the study of theoretical and practical experience in the application of standard FIDIC construction contracts. The methodological basis of the study was the following methods: generalization, analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, comparative legal analysis. The results of the study. The following tasks are solved in the work: an analysis of standard contracts and Russian legislation is carried out, their contradictions are revealed.Discussion and conclusions. The use of FIDIC model contracts without their adaptation to Russian law is not possible due to the existence of contradictions between the provisions of FIDIC model contracts and the mandatory rules of Russian law, arising from different approaches to the regulation of a construction contract - FIDIC model contracts are based on the doctrine of common law, while Russian law belongs to the Romano-Germanic legal family.

An integrated energy system optimization strategy based on particle swarm optimization algorithm

For the sake of increasing the energy efficiency of the city’s energy supply, it is an effective approach to adopt the joint planning of the integrated energy system employing a group of cooling heat and power. However, the coupling matrix in the integrated energy system is quite difficult to formulate. In this paper, a standardized construction method for modeling Energy Hub is proposed. The construction of the model is divided into several steps. In addition, the difficult of solving the coupling matrix of integrated energy system can be availably reduced through this method. Considering the nonlinear problem caused by dispatch factors, this paper proposes a comprehensive energy system optimization strategy by using improved particle swarm optimization algorithm. Finally, using an example of a residential area with cooling, heating and electricity system to verify the effectiveness of the proposed modeling and calculation method . At the same time, the influence of demand response and energy storage on economy during operation is analyzed.

Exploring the nephrotoxicity of sulfur-containing derivatives in sulfur-fumigated Panacis Quinquefolii Radix based on chemical profiling and untargeted metabolomics

Ethnopharmacological relevancePanacis Quinquefolii Radix (PQR) is often illegally sulfur fumigated to extend shelf life and improve appearance, but existing regulations of detecting SO2 residues do not accurately identify desulfurized sulfur-fumigated PQR (SF-PQR). Although sulfur-containing derivatives (SCDs) have been reported in some sulfur-fumigated herbs, there is a lack of research on the generation mechanisms and toxicity of SCDs. Our previous study reported the nephrotoxicity of SF-PQR, and there is an urgent necessity to illuminate the mechanism of toxicity as well as its association with SCDs. Aim of the studyTo investigate the transformation pattern of chemical components and SCDs in SF-PQR, and to disclose the linkage between SCDs and SF-PQR nephrotoxicity. Materials and methodsThe extracts of PQR (before and after SF) were detected by the UPLC-LTQ-Orbitrap-MS method, and SCDs were screened as quality markers (Q-markers). The composition of sulfur combustion products was examined by ion chromatography to exploit the conversion mechanism of SCDs. After administration of PQR extracts to mice for two weeks, serum was collected for GC-MS-based untargeted metabolomics study to mine for differential metabolites. The upstream genes were traced by network analysis to probe toxicity targets. Molecular docking was used to uncover the interactions between SCDs and the targets. ResultsThirty-three compounds were identified and 11 SCDs of saponins were screened, including four SO3 sulfonation products and five H2SO3 sulfonation products. Metabolomics study showed significant alterations in serum biochemistry of SF-PQR group, with substantial increases in fumarate and 2-heptanone content, and induced disturbances in glycerolipid metabolism and phenylalanine, tyrosine, and tryptophan biosynthesis in mice. Network analysis revealed that the key toxicity targets were DECR1, PLA2G1B, and CAT. Molecular docking indicated that SCDs had stable interaction forces with the above three toxicity targets. ConclusionSF-PQR caused kidney damage by affecting glycerolipid metabolism and phenylalanine, tyrosine, and tryptophan biosynthesis. Eleven SCDs were potential nephrotoxic substances and Q-markers for identifying SF-PQR. This study is the first to systematically elucidate the mechanism of SF-PQR-related nephrotoxicity, providing a robust basis for the construction of new quality control standards and a global prohibition of sulfur fumigation.
