The Mentoring for Teachers at Primary School 1 Jati Wetan in Developing the E-Diagnostic Assessment Model based on Literacy to Manage Learning Loss of the Learners

The implementation of online learning has an unfavorable influence on students' motivation and enthusiasm for learning. So far, assessments have been carried out, but teachers at SD 1 Jati Wetan have never carried out an evaluation with e-diagnostic assessments. Community Service Activities aim to provide knowledge sharing and application of technology in order to improve teacher competence and skills by developing e-diagnostic assessments to overcome student learning loss and improve the quality of post-pandemic learning. Teachers are able to compile literacy-based e-diagnostic assessments with optimal application of technology. This activity is carried out in stages; 1) planning stage, (2) socialization and training stage for introducing literacy-based e-diagnostic assessments, (3) training and assistance stage for designing literacy-based e-diagnostic assessments, (4) technology application stage, (5) e-implementation stage literacy-based diagnostic assessment to identify learning loss, and (6) evaluation stage of program activities and sustainability. The results of Community Service activities are in the form of developing literacy-based e-diagnostic assessments and being skilled in their application to identify learning loss. Literacy-based diagnostic assessment products are implemented programmatically and productively by teachers.

Reducing initial cotton yield penalties in a transition to conservation agriculture through legume cover crop cultivation – evidence from Northern Benin

Much effort has been spent on promoting conservation agriculture (CA) in Northern Benin to sustain the transition of cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) cropping systems toward agroecology. However, its limited adoption by farmers is often ascribed to initial yield penalties during the transition to CA and to trade-offs around crop biomass use. Here, we assess the effect of different CA-based cropping systems promoted in the region on water productivity and cotton yield in a three-year cotton/maize (Zea mays L.) crop rotation during the initial transition phase to CA. Three CA options were assessed combining different levels of soil disturbance and cover, and introducing cover crops to alleviate the biomass trade-offs. Direct seeding (DS), strip tillage (ST), and direct seeding mulched-based cropping systems (DMC) were compared with conventional tillage (CT) from 2017 to 2019 under a dominant soil type in the region, Haplic Lixisols. Two legume species, Stylosanthes guianensis (Aubl.) Sw. and Crotalaria retusa L. were grown as cover crops with maize under ST and DMC. The experiment followed a randomized block design comprising six replicates. After 2–3 years of DMC, the cotton yield advantage with respect to CT increased from 5 % to 7 %. Cotton yield penalties of respectively 11 % in 2018 and 26 % in 2019 were found for DS. ST treatment went from a yield advantage of 8 % in 2017 to a yield penalty of 20 % in 2019. The DMC and CT treatments gave similar and highest boll weights compared to the ST and DS treatments. The treatments had no significant difference regarding the number of bolls per plant. Soil water storage in the upper 30 cm depth and water use efficiency (WUE) were the highest in the plots with the DMC treatment compared to CT, ST, and DS. At 28 days of active vegetative stage (between 34 and 62 days after sowing), the WUE of seed cotton was 0.11 kg ha−1 mm−1 under DMC, while it was 0.08, 0.07, and 0.04 kg ha−1 mm−1 under DS, CT, and ST, respectively. The performance of DMC at increasing water productivity could be an argument to improve adoptability by farmers in northern Benin who are facing increased weather variability, given that the yield penalties often associated with early transitions to CA were not observed here with full DMC.

Urban street clusters: unraveling the associations of street characteristics on urban vibrancy dynamics in age, time, and day

Understanding urban vibrancy has been considered crucial to promoting human activities and interactions in public open spaces. Recent advancements in urban big data have facilitated the potential to understand and measure vibrancy patterns throughout cities. While streets are considered the center stage of human activity, previous studies have often overlooked their multifaceted nature and their association with urban vibrancy. In this study, we incorporate multi-source big data and combine a set of features that comprehensively describe the scale, function, and topology of street segments in two Seoul districts: Jung-gu and Gangnam-gu. Using these features, we employ a machine learning clustering technique to classify them into five distinct typologies. Then, with street-level aggregated mobile phone tracking data, we investigate whether street typology characteristics are associated with urban vibrancy with respect to age groups, time of day, and day types (weekends/weekdays). The results show varying relationships between street characteristics with age-, time- and day-vibrancy measures by the identified street typology. Further, we contrast the results of the two districts to evaluate urban vibrancy differences in organic and planned urban layouts. This study enables a more nuanced understanding of urban streets to better comprehend their impact on people’s use of street space. The derived novel insights could assist planners and designers to better pinpoint street management solutions for different age- and time-dependent needs based on the complexities in urban vibrancy dynamics.

Novel age constraints on offshore islets around Taiwan with implications for the Northern Taiwan Volcanic Zone

Determining the exact age of volcanic activity in the Northern Taiwan Volcanic Zone (NTVZ) is essential for comprehending Taiwan's tectonic evolution. The timing and duration of the volcanic processes that formed the NTVZ remain uncertain despite the availability of geochronological, geochemical, and geophysical data. While extensive efforts have been directed towards investigating the age of the Tatun Volcanic Group, the primary feature of the NTVZ, many other aspects require further examination. This study concentrates on two offshore islets in the northern region of the NTVZ. We present new 40Ar/39Ar ages of 0.252 ± 0.018 Ma for a lava flow, representing an early stage of volcanic activity, and 0.118 ± 0.012 Ma for a dike, representing the latest stage of volcanic activity around Pengjia Islet. A sample collected from Mianhua Islet did not yield a reasonable age due to high uncertainty, likely attributable to young and low radiogenic argon. Field observations support the interpretation that volcanic activity on both islets is considerably younger than previously estimated. This study corroborates the hypothesis from geophysical studies that submarine NTVZ features to record a potentially active magmatic reservoir offshore of northern Taiwan. By refining our understanding of spatio-temporal patterns in volcanic activity, this study contributes to volcanic hazard assessment in Taiwan and surrounding areas.

Geostratigraphic Mapping of the Intrusive Valentine Domes on the Moon

AbstractLunar intrusive igneous domes have not been the center of much research in the past due to their rare occurrence on the lunar surface, and the difficulty in locating them. Most of the known structures were discovered using images with low illumination angles, including data from the Lunar Orbiter, telescopic images, and photos taken during the Apollo Missions. These intrusive domes are characterized by an oval shape and low slopes. We analyzed one of these systems, the Valentine domes, located near the rim of the western Serenitatis basin, with modern techniques and data sets from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) and Chandrayaan‐1 missions. We created a geostratigraphic map of the area, combining geomorphological and spectral classifications. The aspect map (direction of the slope) proved to be the most suitable product to locate and delimit these structures; using it, we identified a new dome southeast of the principal body, suggesting that the intrusive system is larger than previously thought. It was found that the three domes can be classified as laccoliths, and that several derived structures such as rilles, dykes, and secondary domes represent different stages of intrusive activity in the area. Based on crater counting analysis, we determined that the intrusive activity began after 2.98 ± 0.15 Ga and lasted at least until 1.88 ± 0.5 Ga ago.

Optimalisasi Penjualan dan Pengelolaan Keuangan UMKM Pedagang Melalui Pengenalan Fintech dan Pemanfaatan Facebook Market Place

This service aims to assist Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) traders in increasing sales and managing their finances through the introduction of financial technology (fintech) and the utilization of the Facebook Marketplace e-commerce platform. This service was carried out in response to the challenges faced by MSMEs in the digital era, especially in the aspects of increasing sales and efficiency of financial management. This service activity involves direct training and assistance to MSME players in Wanayasa District, Banjarnegara Regency. The stages of training activities include 1) survey 2) training and mentoring 3) results and evaluation. This training activity is an introduction to the basics of fintech, how to access and utilize fintech services for financial management, as well as marketing and sales strategies through Facebook Marketplace. The results of this activity show an increase in the ability of MSME traders to use fintech to better manage their finances, including in terms of transaction recording, cash flow management, and access to digital financial services. In addition, the merchants also succeeded in increasing the visibility and sales of their products through Facebook Marketplace.Thus, the introduction of fintech and the utilization of Facebook Marketplace are proven to support the optimization of sales and financial management of MSMEs.

On the Dynamical Evolution of the Asteroid Belt in a Massive Star–Neutron Star Binary

Some fast radio bursts (FRBs) exhibit repetitive behaviors, and their origins remain enigmatic. It has been argued that repeating FRBs could be produced by the interaction between a neutron star and an asteroid belt. Here, we consider the systems in which an asteroid belt dwells around a massive star, while a neutron star, as a companion of the massive star, interacts with the belt through gravitational force. Various orbital configurations are assumed for the system. Direct N-body simulations are performed to investigate the dynamical evolution of the asteroids' belt. It is found that a larger orbital eccentricity of the neutron star will destroy the belt more quickly, with a large number of asteroids being scattered out of the system. A low inclination not only suppresses the collisions but also inhibits the ejection rate at early stages. However, highly inclined systems may undergo strong oscillations, resulting in the Kozai–Lidov instabilities. Among the various configurations, a clear periodicity is observed in the collision events for the case with an orbital eccentricity of 0.7 and mutual inclination of 0◦. It is found that such a periodicity can be sustained for at least eight neutron star orbital periods, supporting this mechanism as a possible explanation for periodically repeating FRBs. Our studies also suggest that the active stage of these kinds of FRB sources should be limited, since the asteroid belt would finally be destroyed by the neutron star after multiple passages.

Geological hazards when justifying the regulations of urban development

Relevance. Territorial planning of cities determines the reduction or prevention of possible or existing losses of the population, economic facilities and the environment from technoprirodnye hazards of different genesis. The effectiveness of planning regulations for urban development depends on the degree of validity of identification and forecasts of the occurrence and evolution of hazardous natural and technogenic processes in time and space. This, in its turn, is determined by the reliability of our ideas about the patterns of their formation and regional distribution. Aim. To identify geological hazards and propose the main engineering and geological constraints in urban planning on the example of Gomel. Objects. Natural and technical system "geological environment – technogenic impacts – hazardous natural and technoprirodnye processes". Methods. Systematic approach to the analysis of patterns of formation of hazardous natural and technoprirodic processes in the city; numerical modeling of geofiltration and geomigration processes based on the geofiltration model "GOMEL". Results. The most characteristic dangerous natural and technoprirodnye processes have been established on the example of the city of Gomel. Priority areas for the introduction of planning restrictions: tectonic situation; man-made flooding, were identified. Soil conditions are considered separately as one of the factors effecting the precipitation of natural and artificial bases under the influence of loads from civil and industrial buildings and structures. The authors have revealed the presence of disjunctive, as well as plicative in the form of flexures, age-varying and multi-scale dislocations forming the block structure of the upper part of the earth's crust of the city. It is shown that from the point of view of the stability of engineering structures, the absolute values of the velocities of long-period unidirectional block displacements are dangerous during long-term operation of structures located in interblock active zones. At the same time, short-period multidirectional movements in the active geodynamic zones of the articulation of blocks cause a change in the slope and bending of the foundations of structures. The paper introduces the engineering-geological features of the most common surface deposits: the terrigenous gray-colored formation of the Paleogene; glacial, periglacial and extraglacial formations of anthropogenic origin and their facies-genetic complexes. The authors identified the potential natural and technological hazards associated with the marked deposits. The paper demonstrates the causes and mechanisms of the formation of technogenic flooding of the city, as well as the genesis of the decrease in the deformation properties of moraine sandy loam with a technogenic increase in humidity. It is concluded that when establishing land use regulations for a city, as a rule, general measures cannot be taken, both for its entire territory and for certain stages of construction activity. The paper introduces the corresponding restrictions on the use of subsoil.

Aggregation-Disruption-Induced Multi-Scale Mediating Strategy for Anticoagulation in Blood-Contacting Devices.

Minimally invasive blood-contacting interventional devices are increasingly used to treat cardiovascular diseases. However, the risk of device-related thrombosis remains a significant concern, particularly the formation of cycling thrombi, which pose life-threatening risks. To better understand the interactions between these devices and blood, the initial stages of coagulation contact activation on extrinsic surfaces areinvestigated. Direct force measurements reveals that activated contact factors stimulate the intrinsic coagulation pathway and promote surface crosslinking of fibrin. Furthermore, fibrin aggregation is disrupted by surface-grafted inhibitors, as confirmed by ex vivo coagulation tests. An engineered serum protein with zwitterion grafts to resist the deposition of biological species such as fibrin, platelets, and red blood cells is also developed. Simultaneously, a protease inhibitor-based coacervate is incorporated into the coating to inhibit the intrinsic pathway effectively. The loaded coacervate can be released and reloaded through modulation of catechol-amine interactions, facilitating material regeneration. The strategy offers a novel multi-scale mediation strategy that simultaneously inhibits nanoscale coagulation factors and resists microscale thrombus aggregation, providing a long-term solution for anticoagulation in blood-contacting devices.

Ретроспективный анализ научных взглядов о государственно-общественном управлении образованием на материале eLibrary.ru

Introduction. Since 2000 up. to the present time, there has been an increase in scientific and applied public interest in the role of state and public education management (SPEM). This period is associated with a change in scientific, pedagogical and management ideas in SPEM, which allows for a retrospective analysis of scientific views on the problem, based on publications in the Russian scientific electronic library eLibrary.ru for the specified period. The purpose is to study and summarize scientific views on the state and public management of the education system in our country for the period 2000-2024 to determine further littlestudied directions for the development of state educational institutions. Materials and methods. Using a retrospective analysis of publications from the Russian scientific electronic library eLibrary.ru, recognizing and describing the stages of publication activity of Russian researchers on the problems of state-public education management, which are associated with the stages of development and implementation of the SPEM reform, are named. Based on a comparative analysis, the theoretical foundations of the organization of SPEM in the Russian Federation, general and specific approaches to the practical organization of SPEM at the regional and national level, and modern views on the topic were identified. Results. Systematization of information made it possible to identify the current state of knowledge of the problem, and to determine possible directions for further research of SPEM in the Russian education system. A three-stage periodization of scientific research into the SPEM model in Russia is proposed. Conclusions are drawn about the validity of the proposed periodization, and the problems of implementing state-public educational management at the present stage, little studied in the scientific literature are noted. Among the problems of implementing state education educational institutions that have been little studied in the scientific literature at the present stage, the following are noted: modern forms of management of an educational organization in the conditions of state education educational institutions, the potential of state educational institutions for the civil and patriotic education of students, features of the development of the digital educational space of school self-government in the state education educational institution system, mentoring technologies in working with schoolchildren in conditions of state and public school management.

Dead ringer acts as a major regulator of juvenile hormone biosynthesis in insects.

In holometabolous insects, proper control of the production of juvenile hormone (JH), which maintains larval traits, is crucial for successful metamorphosis. JH is produced specifically in the corpora allata (CA) via the functioning of a set of JH biosynthetic enzymes (JHBEs). Expression of JHBE genes in the CA is coordinated except for JH acid methyltransferase (JHAMT), which functions in the last step of JH biosynthesis. Here, we sought to determine the mechanism that enables this coordinated expression, assuming the presence of a central regulator of JHBE genes. Comparison of transcriptomes in the CA during active and inactive stages revealed the presence of 3 transcription factors, whose expression patterns matched those of JHBE genes. We propose that one of these, Dead ringer (Dri), is the central up-regulator of CA-specific JHBE genes including JHAMT, based on the following findings: (ⅰ) Knockdown of Dri in the larvae caused precocious metamorphosis, which was rescued by the exogenous application of JH analog, and (ⅱ) knockdown of Dri decreased the expression of most CA-specific JHBE genes examined. Furthermore, RNAi-based reverse genetics indicated that Dri works most upstream in the control of CA-specific JHBE genes, and that shutdown of JHAMT, which occurs independent of other JHBE genes prior to the onset of metamorphosis, can be hypothetically explained by the presence of an unidentified repressor. Our study suggests that Dri, which has been known to regulate embryonic development in a wide range of animals, is conferred a new role in holometabolous insects, i.e. central regulation of CA-specific JHBE genes.

Review of fossil heterostigmatic mites (Acari: Heterostigmata) from late Eocene Rovno Amber. II. Family Resinacaridae, with redescription of Resinacarus resinatus (Vitzthum), four new species and a new genus

The fossil representatives of the family Resinacaridae (Acari: Heterostigmata) from the Late Eocene Rovno amber are reviewed. Three new species are described in the genus Resinacarus Vitzthum, namely, R. longipilis sp. nov., R. vitzthumi sp. nov., and R. striatus sp. nov. A new genus and species, Pararesinacarus krczali gen. and sp. nov. are also described. The extant species Pararesinacarus aradii (Krczal) comb. nov. was moved from Resinacarus. All active stages of the extant type species of the genus Resinacarus, R. resinatus Vitzthum, are redescribed based on type material. A key to genera and species of Resinacaridae is also provided.

Chronic thermal stress on Octopus maya embryos down-regulates epigenome-related genes and those involved in the nervous system development and morphogenesis

Red Octopus maya is strongly influenced by temperature. Recent studies have reported negative reproduction effects on males and females when exposed to temperatures higher than 27 °C. Embryos under thermal stress show morphological and physiological alterations; similar phenotypes have been reported in embryos from stressed females, evidencing transgenerational consequences. Transcriptomic profiles were characterized along embryo development during normal-under thermal stress and epigenetic alterations through DNA methylation and damage quantification. Total RNA in organogenesis, activation, and growth stages in control and thermal stress were sequenced with Illumina RNA-Seq. Similarly, total DNA was used for DNA methylation and damage quantification between temperatures and embryo stages. Differential gene expression analyses showed that embryos express genes associated with oxygen transport, morphogenesis, nervous system, neuroendocrine cell differentiation, spermatogenesis, and male sex differentiation. Conversely, embryos turn off genes involved mainly in nervous system development, morphogenesis, and gene expression regulation when exposed to thermal stress – consistent with O. maya embryo phenotypes showing abnormal arms, eyes, and body development. No significant differences were observed in quantifying DNA methylation between temperatures but they were for DNA damage quantification. Epigenetic alterations are hypothesized to occur since several genes found downregulated belong to the epigenetic machinery but at histone tail level.

Risk of postpartum hemorrhage with increasing first stage labor duration

With increasing rates of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) in high-income countries, an important clinical concern is the impact of labor duration on the risk of PPH. This study examined the relationship between increasing active first stage labor duration and PPH and explored the role of second stage labor duration and cesarean delivery (CD) in this association. Including 77,690 nulliparous women with spontaneous labor onset, first stage labor duration was defined as the time from 5 cm to 10 cm, second stage duration from 10 cm dilation to birth and PPH as estimated blood loss > 1000 ml. Using modified Poisson regression for risk ratios (RR) and confidence intervals (CI), we found a 1.5-fold (RR, 1.53; 95% CI, 1.41‒1.66) increased PPH risk when first stage of labor exceeded 12.1 h compared to the reference (< 7.7 h). Mediation analysis showed that 18.5% (95% CI, 9.7‒29.6) of the increased PPH risk with a prolonged first stage (≥ 7.7 h) was due to a prolonged second stage (> 3 h) or CD. These results suggest that including first stage duration in intrapartum assessments could improve PPH risk identification in first-time mothers with a singleton fetus in vertex presentation at full term with spontaneous labor onset.

Vasil Yakovych Yuriev: Life and scientific heritage (on the 150th anniversary of his birth)

The article discusses the main stages of life and scientific activities of the renowned and respected academician-breeder Vasyl Yakovych Yuriev. His name is inextricably linked with the activities of the Ukrainian Research Institute of Plant Breeding, Selection, and Genetics (now Yuriev Plant Production Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine). It is shown that in his scientific work, Vasyl Yakovych paid special attention to the collection of initial material, the selection of parental forms for crossing, developed methods for testing hybrids and varieties at different stages of the selection process, and demonstrated the advantages of the method of selecting pure lines from local wheat populations compared to the ineffective method of mass selection. Based on this method, under his leadership, many high-yielding valuable varieties of winter and spring wheat, rye, millet, barley, and corn were developed. To study the patterns of inheritance of important valuable traits in wheat, V. Ya. Yuriev used intervarietal and interspecies crosses of the diallel type. Many studies have been conducted in the field of breeding varieties for disease and pest resistance and immunity. In recognition of his scientific achievements, the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine established the Vasyl Yakovych Yuriev Prize, which is awarded for the highest achievements in the field of selection and genetics.

Enhancing the Efficiency of Scientific Activities in a Medical Organization within the Scope of the Process Approach

The article substantiates the principal trends of research optimization in medical organizations with the use of process-oriented management methods (the case of Ya.L.Tsivyan Novosibirsk Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics). The research is based on the principle of the process approach. It is one of the fundamental principles of the total quality management model that is the most effective management concept based on quality. When developing a system for organizing scientific workflows based on the process approach, planning as well as a methodology of academic research play the key role. For all stages of research activities, processes of planning tasks, their fulfilment and reporting with the determination of responsibility for all types of work being performed and with the development of forms of necessary documents used in the organization of scholarly activities have been framed; approaches to the output of scientific products have been standardized and process regulations have been developed for each of its types. The development of processes is carried out on the basis of the requirements of regulatory documentation, taking into account modern approaches to the organization of research activities. Moreover, all documents containing requirements for processes are reviewed and updated at regular intervals, taking into account changes in regulatory guidance. The development and implementation of a system for organizing scientific activities based on the process approach allow a scientific medical institution to achieve compliance with modern requirements for conducting academic research, as well as to improve the quality and efficiency of scientific activities. The accumulated successful experience can be used in organizations that seek to increase the effectiveness of their scientific activities and meet contemporary requirements for their results.

Science Communication and Popularization of Science in CS recruitment Tasks

The article analyzes the global practice of using science communication and, in particular, science popularization to recruit volunteers for citizen science projects (CS recruitment). Russians actively participate in global, cross-border online projects. However, local Russian CS projects are less successful. It is shown that the problem of unsatisfactory recruitment is very serious. Science communication and science popularization contribute to recruitment and volunteer retention. Moreover, the role of communication is particularly important in the early stages of a project. The concepts of active and preliminary stages of CS recruitment are introduced to identify the dynamics of volunteer motivation. The experiences considered in the article can be useful for scientific management in Russia.

The miR-338-3p expression level in pemphigus diagnosis

BACKGROUND: Pemphigus is a group of potentially fatal chronic cutaneous diseases in which blisters appear on the skin and mucous membranes as a result of IgG autoantibodies binding to desmosomes in the epidermis, leading to keratinocytes acantholysis. Currently, methods to monitor disease activity and therapy efficiency using various biomarkers are being investigated. MicroRNA expression, in particular miR-338-3p, has been one of these biomarkers, as changes in miR-338-3p expression may trigger the Th1/Th2 cell imbalance and possibly be involved in the pathogenesis of the disease. AIM: This study aimed to design a protocol to evaluate the level of miR-338-3p expression in peripheral blood mononuclear cells and verify the diagnostic value of miR-338-3p expression in pemphigus. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Experimental prospective comparative study was conducted from February 2023 to February 2024 at the Dermatology Department of Sechenov University. The study included 10 patients with pemphigus in the active stage of the disease, 3 patients in remission, and 9 participants of the control group. The expression of miRNA-338-3p was analyzed by real-time polymerase chain reaction, cDNA was obtained using StemLoop method. The evaluation of miRNA-338-3p expression level was based on its comparison with the expression of U6 gene using 2-ΔΔСt method. RESULTS: The expression level of miR-338-3p was analyzed in 10 patients in the active stage of the disease (5 men, 50%; 5 women, 50%; mean age 46±10.7 years), 3 patients in remission (2 women, 66.7%; 1 man, 33.3%; mean age 57±8 years), 9 control group (8 women, 88.9%; 1 man, 11.1%; mean age 36±16.8 years). The mean expression level of miR-338-3p was 8.64 (SD±5.72) in patients with active disease, 3.38 (SD±1.44) in patients in remission, and 1.48 (SD±1.12) in controls. A statistically significant increase in the expression level of miR-338-3p was found in patients in the active disease stage compared to the control group (p=0.002). A statistically significant correlation was found between the level of miR-338-3p expression and the PDAI index score (p 0.001). CONCLUSION: Based on the data obtained in this study, it can be assumed that microRNAs are important in pemphigus, and miR-338-3p expression in particular may serve as a key element in pemphigus pathogenesis. More detailed study of microRNAs and analysis of expression variability according to clinical data may provide the basis for developing new diagnostic methods and severity scoring, allowing more accurate and less invasive diagnostic methods, as well as monitoring and predicting disease progression.

Growth, Development, Yield Attributes and Yield of French Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) as Influenced by Doses and Methods of Nitrogen Application

A field experiment was carried out at School of Natural Resource Management, College of Post Graduate Studies in Agricultural Sciences, CAU, Umiam, Meghalaya during summer season 2021 to study the effect of different doses and application methods of nitrogen on the growth, yield and yield attributes of Frenchbean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). The experiment comprised of four doses of nitrogen viz.,0, 30, 60, 90 kg ha-1 and two methods of its application i.e., full dose as nitrogen as basal application and 2/3 of nitrogen dose as basal and 1/3 of nitrogen dose split application at active branching stage. The experiments consist of a total of 7 treatments laid out in Randomized Block Design with four replications. Growth parameters such as plant height and number of branches per plant in frenchbean showed a significant increase at all the growth stages with increase in nitrogen doses. Maximum plant height (39.35 cm) and number of branches per plant (3.56) were observed with application of 90 kg N ha-1. The grain yield (762.32 kg ha-1) was observed with application of 90 kg N ha-1 whereas, lowest grain yield was observed in control (146.25 kg ha-1). Yield attributes were observed to follow the same trend with highest number of pods per plant as 5.44, number of seeds per pod as observed significantly more values of all the above said parameters of growth and yield of frenchbeanin comparison to full dose of nitrogen as basal alone. Therefore, the finding of this experiment suggest that the frenchbean should be grown with 90 kg N ha-1 and 2/3 of this dose should be applied as basal application while remaining 1/3 should be applied as top dressing at active branching stage for better growth and yield of frenchbean.

Exploration on the improvement of EEG dataset collection and preprocessing methods based on neuroscience theory

This paper analyzes current methods of EEG dataset collection and preprocessing within the framework of neuroscientific theories and proposes potential improvements. Existing datasets are limited because they primarily capture specific stages of neural activity during continuous recitation, missing other crucial stages of language generation. This limitation impacts the performance of deep learning models used for EEG data classification. By examining the multi-stage process of language formation, the paper highlights the need for data collection methods that encompass all stagesconceptualization, grammatical encoding, lexicalization, morphological and phonological encoding, and articulation. The review also discusses the benefits of using nonlinear dynamic system analysis methods over traditional covariance or cross-correlation matrices to better capture the complexities of EEG data. Finally, it suggests treating EEG data at various stages of language formation as multimodal data, as a strategy to improve the comprehensiveness and practicality of EEG datasets, thereby enhancing the accuracy and practical application of EEG-based brain-computer interfaces.
