PENTINGNYA PENDIDIKAN AGAMA KATOLIK BAGI SISWA-SISWI KATOLIK MENURUT CATECHESI TRADENDAE

This paper aims to explain the importance of catechesis for Catholic students in schools. In this regard, the authors would like to analyze some relevant points of Catechesi Tradendae regarding catholic education. Generally speaking, the document talks about the importance of catechism in the present world. One of the basic ideas is to emphasize that catechesis is an important task for every Catholic for the development of their faith. This document also presents Pope John Paul II's efforts to support the development of the Church through catechesis. Finally, this document states that the formation of people of God cannot be separated from catechesis. A good spiritual formation will bring about a good development of the catholic faith.

Spirituality and Theological Formation: Seven Critical Considerations

What is meant by spirituality and spiritual development in the context of theological formation, and why is it important to incorporate spirituality in theological formation? This article addresses these questions by reviewing scholarly literature and applying the results to the context of Christian academic faculties of theology. The author argues the interdependence of theological and spiritual formation. Also presented are examples of unsound argumentation as to why spirituality would be important in the context of academic theology. The article concludes with the presentation of seven critical considerations for incorporating spirituality in theology in practices within academic faculties of theology. The article argues that paying attention to spirituality in the context of theological formation is an intrinsic part of striving toward both academic and professional excellence. Theology, including academic theology, gains in expressiveness and relevance when it contributes to the development of personal and communal spirituality.

Discussion on regenerative sustainability results from understanding that previous concepts of sustainability, the conventional and the contemporary sustainability, failed to achieve the sustainability agenda. The failure results from human behavior that considers themselves as having the right to use the environment to fulfill their needs. The urgency to satisfy their basic needs and, finally, their greed has resulted in an unsolvable problem: unsustainability. Sustainability is a behavioral matter, and behavior is a product of someone's understanding, attitude, value, beliefs, paradigm, or worldview. Therefore, to achieve sustainability, there should be a mindset change. As a form of contemporary spirituality, Tri Hita Karana can initiate change in the mindset concerning sustainability (inner-sustainability) through character education, so that regenerative sustainability and regenerative tourism in Bali can be achieved.

The Role of Servant Leadership in Developing Spiritual Formation of Teachers

Leadership is the ability of an individual who holds a position and capacity to lead. Logically, a leader who leads must have others to lead and/or who will be led. Leadership can be examined from two aspects, namely religious/spiritual leadership and secular/natural leadership. The leadership to be addressed in this research is Christian Leadership with an emphasis on Servant Leadership. The aim of this research is to explore the phenomenon of Servant Leadership and explain its impact on spiritual growth. In this case, the role of Servant Leadership to be explored is the Servant Leadership of the Principal of SMP Dian Harapan Holland Village Manado, and its impact on the spiritual growth of fresh graduate teachers as individuals or followers who are led, based on a case study conducted on an object and subject of research. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. From the results of this research, it was found that fresh graduate teachers with less than one year of teaching experience can see, experience, and feel the Servant Leadership of the Principal of SMP Dian Harapan Holland Village Manado, which is considered as a humble person, through relationships, interactions, and communication with the Principal. The role of the Servant Leadership of the Principal is also perceived by fresh graduate teachers as helpful in their spiritual formation through mentoring, encouragement, and spiritual activities at school.

Embracing Psychology for Theology: The Role of Developmental Theories in Christian Spiritual Formation

Spiritual formation is a critical component in faith development toward Christlikeness. When the Christians are no longer growing, they are actively dying. Therefore, various efforts need to be made to help Christians grow. However, many spiritual formation efforts are still segregated, fragmented, or isolated from other discourses. This approach tends to focus only on the spiritual dimension and ignores that an individual has complex dimensions that cannot be separated from one another. To realize a more holistic spiritual formation, this article explores some developmental psychological theories to find approaches that might help to nurture the faith of believers holistically. The research method employed for this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection was done by library research on various developmental theories from various developmentalists. From the results of the investigation, the author found different insights to realize more effective spiritual formation, namely by involving the community as a social context, taking into account every human dimension, giving space to the process, accommodating the nature of spiritual growth as multi-faceted and multi-directional, and presenting various experiences in the process of forming spiritual disciplines.

Социокультурная трансформация современного отечественного образования

The article is devoted to the current problem of sociocultural transformation of modern domestic education. Based on an analysis of reality, its aggressive social agenda, the tendency towards the dominance of irrational thinking against the backdrop of a decrease in critical perception and internality, the author confirmed the idea accepted in the scientific community about the transition of society into a certain phase of an unstable state. Previously projected system characteristics of the global society demonstrate failure, axiological assessment of Western civilization as universal has exhausted itself, humanity is on a civilizational turn. Faced with the prob-lem of conceptual cultural nihilism, Russia is once again rethinking its own civilizational path of development, searching for meanings, correlating traditions and innovations. The primary role in this process is assigned to the phenomenon of education as an imperative of spiritual formation of society. Based on a comparative anal-ysis of the Soviet and post-Soviet education systems, the article concludes that the latter, which represents a permanent process of change, not only did not resolve the contradictions of the Soviet socially oriented model of education, but even more served to artificially separate the meaning of education from the idea of develop-ment our civilization. Considering reform as a semantic construct, including analysis of the existing situation, clear goals and objectives, measures adequate to the situation and the system of results assessment correlat-ing with them, the author summarizes that the socio-cultural transformation of modern domestic education should be associated with the traditions of Russian society, and the leading problematic of its concept should be anthropological – as posing the question of the formed person.

Dakwah Islam dalam Dunia Pendidikan Bahasa Arab untuk Membentuk Generasi Muslim yang Sadar

This research aims to investigate the positive impact of using Arabic in an educational context on understanding the Islamic values contained in it. The target of this research is students from the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. This research applies a qualitative approach using case study and questionnaire techniques as the main method of data collection. From the survei results, it can be concluded that the majority of respondents (90%) consider it important to include Arabic in the university curriculum. The reason for implementing the use of Arabic is because it involves moral development, cross-cultural communication, and understanding Islamic teachings. Respondents also saw the benefits of learning Arabic in the context of deepening understanding of the Koran, improving the quality of worship, and forming polite character. Overall, the survei supports the success of Arabic in making a positive contribution to the moral and spiritual formation of students. Some respondents had different points of view because they found it difficult to learn Arabic, but they provided several different solutions for learning it. The next reason for differences of opinion is the status of Arabic as an international language because not all universities have muslim students.

Evaluation of PAI Learning Based on Character Education at SMA Al Islam 1 Surakarta

Positive Islamic and traditional values are instilled in students in order to attain the goal of character education, which pertains to their spiritual formation and attitudes. If we examine more thoroughly, though, we can conclude that character education's primary objective has either failed or been unmet. This is evident in the contemporary globalization period. The sophistication of information technology is rising in the globalization period. However, there are drawbacks to technological advancement. A reduction in employee morale is one of them. It is evident from the aforementioned occurrence that educational institutions face a challenge in molding their students' Islamic personalities. As previously mentioned, the rise of undesirable things like marriage has made it necessary for youngsters to be taught morality and etiquette in line with religious principles. It is crucial that we use habituation techniques to instill Islamic character traits in our children. SMA Al-Islam Surakarta is among the educational institutions that employ the habituation method to instill Islamic character formation in their pupils. The purpose of this study is to investigate the application of the habituation approach to the development of Islamic character at SMA Al-Islam Surakarta, as well as the elements that facilitate the development of Islamic character in students enrolled in the school. to be aware. suppressing Islam and the values of the Al-Islam Surakarta High School pupils. Qualitative field research is what this study is. This study employed observation, interviews, and documentation techniques as its methodology.

The Health/Salvation Nexus: Religion, New Forms of Spirituality, Medicine and the Problem of “Theodicy”

The health/salvation nexus can be better understood if analyzed through the transformations that have affected the social relationship with the sacred in Western society. These changes have caused relevant implications concerning the sphere of “ultimate meaning”, in the words of Peter Berger. Today, we are witnessing a weakening of legitimized “theodicies” capable of promising—according to Max Weber—salvation and guaranteeing “just equalization”, that is, compensation or metaphysical condemnation for worldly conduct. However, this occurs to different extents depending on whether we are in the field of Western religions or new forms of spirituality. Medicine deserves a separate discussion. The hypothesis is that the health/salvation nexus leans towards salvation in the case of Western religions; towards health in the case of medicine; and, in the case of new forms of spirituality it leans neither exactly towards health nor exactly towards salvation: new forms of spirituality promise more than the achievement of health, but less than the achievement of salvation. Ultimately, the health/salvation nexus is structured differently depending on how much Western religions, new forms of spirituality and medicine are able to respond, more or less effectively, to the questions of “theodicy” and of “ultimate meaning”. I use the term of “theodicy” in the way Max Weber and Peter Berger conceived it: therefore, this concept can also be usefully applied to non-theistic and secular worldviews.

Features of the educational process and formation of priests at the Ivano-Frankivsk Theological-Catechetical Theological Institute - Ivano-Frankivsk Theological Academy under the leadership of Bishop Sofron Mudryi

The article examines the peculiarities of the educational process and spiritual formation of seminarians - future priests of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church during the administration of Bishop Sofron Mudryi at the Ivano-Frankivsk Spiritual Seminary, the Ivano-Frankivsk Theological and Catechetical Institution, and later the Ivano-Frankivsk Theological Academy. This work highlights the important aspects of Bishop Sofron in ensuring the formation process, where he contributed to the comprehensive growth of future ministers. Also, the special efforts of the rector were analyzed, which were aimed at the high spiritual and intellectual education of seminarians following the example of European higher educational institutions. In addition, the article highlights a wide range of theological publishing activities of Sophron Mudryi, which were used by candidates for the priesthood to obtain quality theological education.

Prosthetic species: Security dogs and the more‐than‐human sensing of urban danger

AbstractFocusing on human–dog relations, this article develops a more‐than‐human approach to the sensing of urban insecurity. Extending work on the embodied, sensory dimension of fear and other security affects, it centers the role of non‐human, canine bodies in processes of risk assessment. Drawing on research in Kingston, Jamaica, I explore how a range of city dwellers learn to sense danger with and through security dogs. How do those who live and work in the city construct and experience its threats through attunement to their dogs' olfactory, auditory, and visual acuity? And how does this interspecies sensing of urban danger co‐produce distributions of urban safety and precarity? In this context, I suggest, dogs are not only a companion species but also a “prosthetic species,” animals that enhance and extend the limits of the human senses, enabling a more‐than‐human knowledge of what threats look, sound, and smell like. I discuss such practices of interspecies sensing and their effects, concentrating on the identification of criminal, political, and spiritual forms of danger. Together, such instances of interspecies sensing can provide new insights into the everyday perception, construction, and negotiation of fearful cityscapes.

Complaint as testimony?: Listening to Australian Pentecostal Christian women

ABSTRACT Testimony is significant in Pentecostal liturgical worship and life. Historically, narratives that emphasize God’s role in the life of the believer have been used for spiritual formation. This article adopts feminist scholar Sara Ahmed’s work on complaint in the church context and proposes a constructive rewriting of the theological discourse to include women’s complaints as testimony. Women’s experiences at Hillsong Church as outlined in the media are included here and juxtaposed against the church’s official responses (noted as refutation and suppression). It is argued that, given the importance of women to Pentecostalism, examining and including narratives about women’s experiences in the church is vital; this includes acknowledging their testimonies of violence, sexual harassment and spiritual abuse.

Making a Case for College and University Chaplaincy: Howard Thurman as Guide

ABSTRACT Amid shifts in religious life on college campuses, chaplains are reenvisioning the meaning of their work. Parsing a set of Howard Thurman’s 1954 university lectures, I display how Thurman articulates a vision for spiritual formation on college campuses, beginning with his descriptions of religious experience. I interpret Thurman in connection with contemporary insights from higher education religious life professionals who describe their work within the university community in similar ways. I suggest that they challenge the institution to take up their role in helping students to integrate their lives, which requires bringing feelings and intellect together. This article considers Howard Thurman’s distinctive contributions to chaplaincy and explores his vocabulary for rethinking meaning-making on campus as the work of spiritual integration.

Leadership and Spiritual Resources in the Anthropocene: Some Practical Theological Reflections

Faith communities are found all over the world as spaces where people find a spiritual home and where spiritual formation takes place. For this contribution, the research question is: In what ways can the leadership in faith communities contribute towards spiritual resources for their members in the time of the Anthropocene? Faith communities are spaces where three resources (a shared narrative about climate change, shared values and shared symbols and practices) interact and where each of these can also make a unique contribution to raising awareness of ownership and space in the time of the Anthropocene. If the Anthropocene is considered as the period in which human activities have the dominant influence on the climate and the environment, these three resources offer important contributions for a greater awareness of humans’ influence on the climate and the environment. The congregational leader as spiritual guide in the modes of storyteller, moral compass and symbolic worker can play a significant role in the process of mobilising people of faith in becoming involved in their environment and climate mobilisation. Worldview and religious-cultural orientations of the "Digital Age Human"

This article explores the impact of the digital era on fundamental aspects of human life, including issues of faith, morality, and cultural identity. It highlights that digital technologies have become an integral part of modern human life, making it impossible to ignore their obvious cultural significance today. The focus is on analyzing how contemporary technologies, such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things, are reshaping traditional religious practices, facilitating the emergence of new forms of spirituality, and altering traditional religious structures. Both positive and negative consequences of such transformations for individuals and society are discussed. By utilizing digital products and technologies and entering cyberspace, religion strives to make religious heritage, culture, and tradition more understandable and accessible to a larger number of people. The adaptation and transformation of religion can be traced in various directions of activity related to the implementation and mastery of cyberspace and digital space. Examples of the digitalization of religion and religious digital products are provided to substantiate the transformation of religion. The idea is substantiated that studying digital culture today means not so much analyzing its phenomena and artifacts per se, but rather studying the broad transformations occurring with the spread of digital technologies in culture at large.

Defining Relational Dimensions of Spiritual Influence for Management Research and Practice

In management research, the impact of spirituality and its positive influence on organizational outcomes has been studied from many aspects of management practice. The result has been a non-delineated, cross-sectional view of spiritual guidance in creating healthy individual and business outcomes. Unfortunately, the limited focus on spiritual well-being has not encouraged research that considers the full range of outcomes from various dimensions of spirituality. Such focus has not considered the influence of adverse spiritual intent or made distinctions between divine and human forms of spirituality that create uncertainty and lack of trust in spiritual and religious guidance. Considering these limitations, this conceptual research shares a dimensionality of spiritual discernment derived from the current literature on spirituality in management and discusses the limitations of each within the context of developing spiritual capital and spiritual intelligence. This paper presents both divine and human relationships in framing this model and suggests the need to better understand the bounded nature of spirituality under dark or human influence. The outcome from this work is the development of a Relational Models Theory of Spirituality (RMTS) framework to guide management research in creating an ontological perspective around the nature and intent of spiritual relationships and to encourage seeking third-person spirituality as an unbiased, higher form of Spiritual guidance.

A Comparative Study of Pentecostal and Non – Pentecostal Theological Education in South Africa: Spirituality and Academic Theology

South Africa’s theological education is diverse, with both Pentecostal and Non-Pentecostal institutions providing different approaches to spiritual formation and academic theology. Although the majority of people, Christian and non-Christian alike, have a strong understanding of spirituality, Pentecostals are relatively new to the term “spiritual formation.” It is about living a practical Christian life, which consists of intimate existential knowledge of God motivated by a genuine love for God. As a result, commitment to the Lord includes involvement and living in the world around one for the glory of God. Theological education on the other hand, is the training that aims to prepare individuals for professional church ministry. According to Scripture, before regeneration, we were all “dead in trespasses” and sins (Ephesians 2:1). If spirituality and academic theology are necessary components of theological education, then understanding how they are integrated in Pentecostal and Non-Pentecostal institutions is crucial for effective theological education. As a result, the purpose of this study is to examine the role of spiritual practices in shaping students’ theological understanding and to contribute to our understanding of the complex relationship between spirituality, academic theology, and leadership development in South African theological education, in order to establish a more thorough and successful way to forming spiritual/ pastoral leaders in the Pentecostal context.

OBLIK TUGE: DUHOVNO-ESTETSKI AGONI U KNjIZI „NEBO, TAKO DUBOKO“

Vesna Kapor’s novel Nebo, tako duboko thematizes the origins, emotional and spiritual implications of the premature death of the nineteen-year-old girl Tara Senica. Given the thematic-motive scope of the novel, in which the interference of life and death is elaborated, the paper, from the point of view of religious philosophy, affective narratology and metapoetic studies, identifies and analyzes forms of religious and aesthetic spirituality and explicates formulas for deciphering human Destiny. Different models of religious spir- ituality are considered: Orthodox Christianity, mythical-symbolic and folklore elements, as well as the contemporary concept of the world which is immanently antagonistic. Finally, in the aesthetic layer of the novel two domains of spirituality can be distinguished. The first one ‒ Sumatraism ‒ can be recognized in previous Kapor’s novels, although altered and reshaped. The second domain is reflected in Kapor’s poetic self-awareness ‒ the story itself is a formative force, a testimony and a mnemotechnic that puts life before death. It can be concluded that in this novel religious spirituality is replaced by aesthetic spirituality and crowned with the life-giving principle of the story.

Pengembangan Edukasi Teknologi Melalui Game Rohani Kepada Anak-Anak Kristen Masa Kini di GKLI Sipoholon

The purpose of this study was to develop children's ability to use technology through spiritual games. The research method used in this study is a qualitative approach method. Data collection using observation techniques and direct interviews with children and Sunday school teachers at GKLI Sipoholon. The results showed that the use of spiritual games has the potential to increase children's understanding of religious teachings and morality. The importance of developing spiritual education in the digital era demands creativity and innovation in providing learning to children. In an era of ever-evolving technology, education in the church environment requires an innovative approach. Spiritual games are defined as interactive game applications specifically designed to provide religious and moral learning experiences. Spiritual games are an interesting bridge to the world of Christian children. Through the development of technological media, especially spiritual games. Thus, the development of technology education through spiritual games at GKLI Sipoholon is a progressive step in educating and guiding Christian children today, in line with the mission of spiritual formation of the church.

The theological foundations of spiritual formation Both the soullessness of our times, the spiritual overheating, and the unfolding pragmatism in the field of spiritual life call for practical theology to reflect on the field of spiritual formation. In our Church, in our congregations, evangelization, the call to conversion, is still at the heart of the matter. Little is said about what is or what should be after conversion? In this paper, we will reflect theologically on the subject of spiritual formation. We will examine the ordo salutis discussed in classical dogmatics, and within it the interpretations of justification, conversion, and regeneration. Finally, we will explore the theme of sanctification, what is the responsibility of man in the process of spiritual formation according to the Reformed theological approach.
