The present study was carried out in the province of Viru during the year 2013, in order to determine the impact of the execution of the budget of the Provincial Municipality on the quality of life of its population; also, analyze the level of budget execution, and identify how budget execution influenced quality of life. The research method implemented was inductive-deductive, descriptive, analytical, observational, cross-sectional, qualitative and quantitative. 367 surveys were applied to residents and 36 to officials of the provincial municipality; being processed in MS Excel, to determine the mean, standard deviation and coefficient of variation; likewise, the contrast test statistics of the variables under study. The level of expenditure execution was sufficient (98%); the efficiency of social spending has been 75.52%, referring to investments in basic services, health, education, and welfare in general; spending efficiency was 19% higher. There is a significant correlation (0.62) between the provincial municipal budget execution, during the year 2013, and the standard of living of its population. It is concluded that the execution of the budget of the Provincial Municipality had an impact on the quality of life of the population of the Province of Viru.
