BUCKLEW USNR The Author is Commander Naval Operations Support Group, Pacific, is a native of Ohio, born in Columbus on December 14, 1914. He is an alumnus of Xavier University and graduate studies at Columbia University. He is married to the former Helen Nagel of Columbus, Ohio. Captain Buck-lew is a veteran Special Warfare and Naval Intelligence Operator, having previously served in many areas of the world carrying out such tasks as Reconnaissance, Raids, Guerrilla Warfare, Intelligence and Special Projects. His present command, Naval Operations Support Group, Pacific, consolidates under one headquarters at Coronado, California, the two West Coast Underwater Demolition Teams, Beach Jumper Unit One, Seal Team One and the recently commissioned Boat Support Unit One.
