Limits and Potentials of Special Relativity

This paper presents the application of special relativity to different thought experiments. Some issues will be noted and a modification of special relativity will be presented. That modification can be tested and one interpretation of the preliminary result supports the modification. After presenting the history of special relativity, the non-simultaneity of special relativity is questioned in our macro world. In addition, some issues between light-clocks and the application of Lorentz transformation are presented. All this indicates that there is something not right with special relativity. A new proposal is presented based on an adaptation of special relativity; this new proposal solves the anomalies and could be a solution to the twin paradox. It has a prediction: a difference with special relativity which has been tested with a new experiment and the preliminary results support the new proposal. Previously, a lack of special relativistic effects has been observed in the universe [Davis et al., 2004]; that second observation is also explained with the new proposal.

Modelling absorption and emission profiles from accretion disc winds with WINE

Fast and massive winds are ubiquitously observed in the UV and X-ray spectra of active galactic nuclei (AGNs) and other accretion-powered sources. Several theoretical and observational pieces of evidence suggest they are launched at accretion disc scales, carrying significant mass and angular momentum. Thanks to such high-energy output, they may play an important role in transferring the energy released by accretion to the surrounding environment. In the case of AGNs, this process can help to set the so-called co-evolution between an AGN and its host galaxy, which mutually regulates their growth across cosmic time. To precisely assess the effective role of UV and X-ray winds at accretion disc scales, it is necessary to accurately measure their properties, including mass and energy rates. However, this is a challenging task, due to both the limited signal-to-noise ratio of available observations and the limitations of the models currently used in the spectral analysis. We aim to maximise the scientific return of current and future observations by improving the theoretical modelling of these winds through our Winds in the Ionised Nuclear Environment (WINE) model. WINE is a spectroscopic model specifically designed for disc winds in AGNs and compact accreting sources, which couples photoionisation and radiative transfer with special relativistic effects and a three-dimensional model of the emission profiles. We explore with WINE the main spectral features associated with the disc winds in AGNs, with a particular emphasis on the detectability of the wind emission in the total transmitted spectrum. We explore the impact of the wind ionisation, column density, velocity field, and geometry in shaping the emission profiles. We simulated observations with the X-ray microcalorimeter Resolve on board the recently launched XRISM satellite and the X-IFU on board the future Athena mission. This allows us to assess the capabilities of these telescopes in the study of disc winds in X-ray spectra of AGNs for the typical physical properties and exposure times of the sources included in the XRISM performance verification phase. The wind kinematic and geometry (together with the ionisation and column density) deeply affect both shape and strength of the wind spectral features. Thanks to this, both Resolve and, on a longer timescale X-IFU will be able to accurately constrain the main properties of disc winds over a broad range of ionisation, column densities, and covering factors. We also investigate the impact of the spectral energy distribution (SED) on the resulting appearance of the wind. Visual Communication Method of Multi-Frame Film and Television Special Effects Images Based on Deep Learning

In the view of art form change, there is a perspective problem in the detail part of multi-frame film and television special effects (TSEs) images in the special effects rendering module, which leads to the greater ambiguity of multi-frame film and TSEs images. In order to advance the talent of identifying the detail structures and characteristics of multi-frame film and TSEs images, a visual communication technology of multi-frame film and TSEs images in the view of art form change grounded on deep learning is suggested. The transmission relation model of detail characteristics of multi-frame film and TSEs images in the field of artistic form change is constructed, and the attenuation treatment of detail action special effects of multi-frame film and TSEs images in the field of artistic form change is carried out with the assistance of deep learning approaches. The detailed information and color of multi-frame film and TSEs images are obtained by using prior map knowledge instead of rendering basic color. Over the technique of filtering and preserving, the multi-frame film and TSEs images are directed to screen the detailed feature quantity of the input film and TSEs images in the field of artistic form change. In addition, the Sobel operator is practiced to perceive the scrawny edge information of multi-frame film and TSEs images, and block fitting interpolation and depth filtering analysis are used in the edge area to realize the visual communication and color feature parameter identification and amplification of multi-frame film and TSEs images in the field of artistic form change, so as to improve the fuzzy enhancement of multi-frame film and TSEs images. The test results and results indicate that the average Peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) of the proposed method is about 37.7166[Formula: see text]dB, which is 49.08% and 52.08% higher than the PSNRs of the Harris method and SUFR method, respectively. It has been confirmed that this scheme can successfully solve the edge blurring and distortion problems of multi-frame movies and image images in the field of art form change.

Comparative Characteristics of Short-term and Long-term Adaptation by Blood Analysis of Foreign Female Students (India) to the Educational Process System

The article is devoted to the study of the comparative characteristics of the analysis of the leukocyte formula indicators of foreign female students from India during short-term and long-term sociocultural and other demographic factors of adaptation to educational process systems. We found little difference in the blood analysis of foreign Indian female students with short-term, long-term and social adaptation to the educational environment. Based on the evidence of the studied material, it is determined that the body reacts to each environmental requirement with a special effect. If, in one case, as at the initial stage of training, a student is faced with a situation of non-variability, then this requires the mobilization of many resources of the body, while in another case, at a longer and already established stage of training, the student’s body successfully copes with various influencing factors.

Objectives This study scrutinizes the teaching of patent specification writing through the general intellectual property course, draws implications, and suggests ways to improve the 2022 curriculum. Methods This study was conducted in the following ways First, we compared and analyzed the documents of the general intellectual property curriculum of the 2015 and 2022 curricula to identify changes in the achievement standards related to patent specification writing education. Second, we systematically reviewed textbooks, teacher guides, and teaching and learning materials to investigate the content and methods of patent specification writing education in actual educational settings. Third, we analyzed the requirements of patent specification writing education and the differences between domestic and foreign countries by reviewing relevant laws and regulations such as the Patent Act and the Patent Act Enforcement Rules, and identifying international trends through overseas cases. Fourth, we verified the feasibility and effectiveness of patent specification writing education through generative AI by utilizing actual patent specification and Chet Giffity. Through this multifaceted analysis, we identified problems in the current patent specification writing education through general intellectual property courses and proposed improvement measures. Results The implications of patent specification writing education through general intellectual property courses are, first, that it does not fulfill both relevant performance standards and legal requirements. Second, there is a lack of consideration on the selection of invention ideas that are the subject of patent specification writing education. Third, the number of class hours required to teach patent specification writing through general intellectual property courses and the number of teachers to implement the program are insufficient. Conclusions To improve, first, all of the components of a patent specification should be available for writing. Second, it should be possible to protect student-generated invention ideas while broadening the scope of the patent specification. Third, generative AI can be utilized as an assistant teacher to solve the problem of lack of educational content, time, and teacher resources in patent specification writing education. If these improvements are applied and expanded, it is expected that the patent specification writing education through the general intellectual property curriculum in the 2022 curriculum will be more applicable in schools and have a significant educational effect on problem-solving and computational thinking skills.

Influence of velocity pulse directivity on seismic response of cross-fault bridges

Pulse-type ground motions have special destructive effects on structures, and directivity is one of the fundamental characteristics of velocity pulses. In this paper, the impact of the velocity pulse directivity of seismic motions on both sides of the fault on the seismic response of fault-crossing bridges was quantified using the original records from the Chi-Chi earthquake in Taiwan. First, an automatic baseline correction method was applied to restore the permanent ground displacement, and the direction corresponding to the strongest pulse energy on both sides of the fault was identified based on continuous wavelet transformation. On this basis, the variability of the peak intensity of ground motions on the hanging wall and footwall in different directions, as well as the differences in pulse characteristics between the strongest pulse component and the two initial horizontal components, were analysed. Finally, a typical 5 × 30 m continuous girder bridge was considered as the research object to reveal the influence of the velocity pulse directivity on the seismic response of key parts on both sides of the fault. The results showed that the variability in the peak ground-motion intensity on the hanging wall of the fault was higher than that on the footwall. The displacement variability was up to 863 %, velocity was 262 %, and acceleration was 124 %. The pulse characteristics of the strongest pulse component were stronger than those of the parallel and vertical fault components, and its acceleration, velocity, and displacement response spectra were larger. The amplification effects of the velocity pulse directivity on the transverse bending moment, longitudinal bending moment, and torque of the pier bottom reached 1.3, 1.1, and 1.6, respectively. However, the amplification effect of the velocity pulse directivity on the relative displacement of the pier top, displacement of the main beam, and displacement of the bearing was more than 1.6 times, which was more significant than the internal force of the pier bottom.

Study on cerebral oxygen saturation in children with sleep-disordered breathing.

To explore the association between the severity of sleep-disordered breathing, different types of respiratory events, peripheral oxygen saturation (SpO2), age and sleep stage on cerebral oxygen saturation (rSO2) in children. We enrolled children aged 4-14 years who were treated for snoring or mouth breathing at the Sleep Center of Beijing Children's Hospital, from February 2022 to July 2022. All children completed polysomnography, and SpO2, rSO2, and heart rate (HR) were recorded synchronously. A total of 70 children were included, including 16 (22.9%) with primary snoring, 38 (54.3%) with mild obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), and 16 (22.9%) with moderate-to-severe OSA. There were no significant differences in the mean rSO2 or minimum rSO2 among the primary snoring, mild OSA, and moderate-to-severe OSA groups (all p > 0.05). A total of 1119 respiratory events were included in the analysis. Regardless of the type of respiratory event, rSO2 and HR changes occur prior to fluctuations in SpO2. A mixed-effects model showed that ΔrSO2 was positively correlated with ΔSpO2, duration of respiratory event, mixed and obstructive apnea, central apnea, while negatively correlated with age and rapid eye movement (REM) sleep stage (all p < 0.05). Larger rSO2 fluctuations were impacted by a greater ΔSpO2, longer duration of respiratory events, younger age, apnea-related respiratory events and non-REM sleep stage. Thus, sleep disordered breathing in younger children warrants more attention. More research is needed to determine whether REM sleep has special protective effects on rSO2.

Machine learning and propensity score matching for evaluating the effect of special education services on childrens later math performances

The goal of the research is to analyze the effect of special education service brought to childrens later math performance. The dataset is derived from Early Childhood Longitudinal Studies(ECLS) program and the children being studied come from diverse socioeconomic and racial/ethnic backgrounds. We applied PSM and modern machine learning methods including OLS, KNN, BART and MLP on the data in order to calculate the average treatment effect of special education services. It turned out that all the listed machine learning algorithms with comparatively low STD outperformed the traditional propensity score matching. KNN, BART and OLS excelled, offering much more stable calculations. The value of ATE computed through all the methods appeared below zero. By applying linear regression and PCA on all the influencing factors, the analysis revealed that the differences of some factors between the controlled and exposed groups led better math performances to appear usually in the absence of special treatment. Thus, special treatment effect led the trained model to predict lower scores, which finally caused the difference to be negative.

Audit Quality, Auditor Specialization, and Sustainability Reporting: Their Impact on Cost of Capital Moderated by Company Size of the Kompas 100 Index in the Indonesia Stock Exchange Market

The capital market has become an attractive instrument for both local and foreign investors. This study aims to analyze and provide empirical evidence regarding the influence of audit quality, auditor specialization, and sustainability reporting on the cost of capital. Additionally, it investigates how company size moderates the relationship between these variables and the cost of capital. The study focuses on companies listed in the Kompas 100 Index on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2018 to 2022. A quantitative approach is employed, utilizing secondary data available from the IDX (www.idx.go.id), specifically from company annual reports. Data collection involved recording relevant information from the annual reports of each company. The population of the study comprises companies included in the Kompas 100 Index, with a sample selected through non-probability sampling (purposive) with the criteria of being listed in the Kompas 100 Index for the consecutive periods of 2018 to 2022, sample resulted 54 companies. The data analysis method applied is Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results reveal that audit quality has a negative effect on the cost of capital, while auditor specialization shows no significant effect. Furthermore, sustainability reporting also has a negative effect on the cost of capital. As for the moderating variable, company size successfully moderates the relationship between audit quality and the cost of capital, but it does not moderate the effect of auditor specialization or sustainability reporting on the cost of capital.

Shooting Simulator «Inhibitor»: Mathematical Support of Shot Special Effects

The algorithms for preparing shooters to perform an exercise, conducting its course with real-time informing, as well as the implementation of mathematical support of shot special effects (sounds, tracers, explosions, hits, and misses) for the optical-electronic shooting simulator 'Inhibitor' developed at Institute of Mechanics UdmFRC UB RAS and at facilities of Computer Department of Kalashnikov ISTU jointly with JSC «Kalashnikov» Concern» are described. A tactical and technical task is given for the visual and sound effects of a shot, such as tracers, grenade ruptures, misses, return fire, and controlled flight of PTURS. In addition, the manager must monitor the weapon simulator sensors during the preparation of the exercise (magazine, fire switch, cartridge inside the barrel and sight readings) and conduct the course of the exercise with real-time viewing of both targets and shots and altering the ammunition number and type (all ammunition can be made tracer ones). The arrows are selected from the department database for convenience. Viewing shooting errors and aiming along with hit points allows correction of trainees’ actions by means of commands and quick display service information for trainee independent classes on the projection screen. The study the factors affecting ballistic dispersion was carried out and the recommendations for its modeling were formulated. The literature review confirms the potential of further research and development of electronic rifle simulators via improvement of computational tools and the development of software libraries in order to increase the accuracy of shot process simulation and flexible display adjustment of current training exercise results. It is necessary to expand realistic opportunities of shot special effects and reduce the cost constantly, which means to increase the competitiveness of electronic shooting simulators.

Early Specialization and Progress of Finalist Swimmers in World Championships and Olympic Games.

Background: The main objectives of this study were to analyze the effect of early specialization in swimming and to observe the general patterns of success of two different sport specialization models [Spanish (SPA) and United States of American (USA) swimmers] participating in World Championships (WCs) and Olympic Games (OGs) between the years 2006 and 2021 of all swimming strokes and distances. Methods: Descriptive analyses and contingency tables were examined for all the variables. Explanatory models of the z scores were estimated from age depending on the events' distances and strokes. Quadratic regression models were developed to capture the behavior of the variable time with parabolic functions, and the significance of the global model and the predictor variables (age) were also evaluated. In addition, the optimal age (peak performance) as well as the curvature of the model were analyzed. These models were compared between SPA and USA swimmers. Results: The results showed that the main differences in the patterns to success between SPA and USA were the earlier participation of USA swimmers in high-level competitions, as well as the greater number of participants for all the strokes, events, genders, and competitions. Age peak performance in short distances was lower for Spanish swimmers, obtaining the opposite situation for long distances. Conclusions: Being a finalist in junior WCs did not influence success in the finals of the senior WCs and OGs. Main differences in general patterns of success between SPA and USA showed younger swimmers participating in short-distance events, backstroke, and butterfly for USA swimmers and older swimmers taking part in butterfly and short-distance events for SPA.

Evolution mechanism of Ti(C,N)-based cermet microstructure under microwave sintering

Experimental studies of microwave-sintered cermets were carried out at different sintering temperatures and holding times to investigate their microstructure evolution mechanism. Results of the study show that: (1) As sintering temperature increases, main microstructure evolution mechanisms of cermets are as follows: metal-phase melting, hard-phase skeleton filling of large pores in hard-phase skeletons, secondary rearrangement of the liquid phase (the liquid phase gradually fills the space between grains), and cooling down (precipitation–crystallization–reattachment); (2) As holding time increases, main microstructure evolution mechanisms of cermets are as follows: complete filling of large pores in the hard-phase skeleton, secondary rearrangement of the liquid phase, intense dissolution precipitation enhancing the formation of core-rim phase, and secondary homogeneous arrangement of the liquid phase. The special electromagnetic effects of microwave-sintered cermets and their influence on the sintering process were analyzed. It was found that both tip-discharge effect and hot-spot effect occurring during the microwave sintering process are conducive to the sintering process. The formation process of core-rim phase of cermets was also studied. Results show that: (1) Cermets form black core–white rim–grey rim structure via dissolution–precipitation and precipitation–crystallization phenomena; (2) Cermets form white core–grey rim structure through agglomeration of small particles, dissolution–precipitation, and precipitation–crystallization phenomena.

Predicting the Tendency to Re-Experience Abusive Relationships Based on Schema Modes and Self-Compassion: A Web-Based Cross-Sectional Study

Finding an intimate partner is an important step in adulthood that has a special effect on self-concept and mental health. The tendency to re-experience abusive relationships (TREAR) refers to a person’s inclination to repeatedly find themselves in abusive or unhealthy relationships. There are many factors for the TREAR. This study aimed to predict TREAR based on schema modes and self-compassion. The present study design was predictive correlational, with the statistical population consisting of adults over 18 who have experienced emotional relationships in Rasht, Iran. Finally, 190 participants entered the study. Due to COVID-19 quarantine circumstances, we used an internet-based convenience sampling method through the social media groups of students at Rasht’s universities. Participants completed the tendency to re-experience abusive relationships scale, schema modes, and self-compassion. Most of the participants were between age 23 and 32 years (44.2%) and female (81.6%). According to the findings, self-compassion was greatly associated with a lower TREAR. In contrast, the schema modes were significantly associated with a higher score of the TREAR (p&lt; .05). The coefficient of determination (R2) was equal to 0.506, indicating that 50.6% of the change in re-experiencing abusive relationships was explained by demographic characteristics, schema modes, and self-compassion. The results showed that both schema modes and self-compassion were predictors of continuing the abusive relationship cycle. These findings could have important implications for future research, especially on the prevention and treatment of individuals involved in abusive relationships.

Vertical specialization, global expansion of supply chain, and convergence

Abstract In this paper, we construct an elaborate general equilibrium model with a continuum of production fragments for an intermediate good, then incorporate it in a growth model to address the effects of global production fragmentation, vertical specialization, and trade on growth and inequality for a small developing country. Among other things, we show that a small developing economy grows faster than the rest of the world as a result of global fragmentation and trade in intermediates if it is skilled-labor scarce. We further address the effects of such a trade opening on wage inequality.

Method for Rendering Large-Scale Movie Late-Stage Special Effects Under Mixed Use of Level of Detail Fusion

Large-scale movies often require extensive special effects to captivate audiences. To enhance the realism and quality of these effects, especially in complex scenes, a method combining detail-level fusion for post-special effects rendering is introduced. This method involves creating a detailed hierarchy diagram and a visual information sampling model to sample color-matched visuals and extract auxiliary visual elements. It aims to improve the visual communication of special effects and enable real-time, high-quality rendering. Experimental results demonstrate that this approach delivers higher resolution, better quality in film production, consistent output, stability across various scenes, and superior rendering and tracking capabilities, with higher recall and comprehensive evaluation scores, as well as enhanced visual effects.

The purpose of this thesis is to study the influence of cyberpunk style on film-making's theme, graphics, and post-effects. The movies theme mainly centers around anti-Utopian ideas, exploring the future fate of mankind and artificial intelligence with a pessimistic prediction. It explores the potential threat that artificial intelligence poses to the future society under the civilization of high mechanical development so as to criticize the contemporary society and cause self-reflection of human beings. Cinematography mainly utilizes colorful sci-fi elements such as skyscrapers and neon lights to create a futuristic world. In terms of color matching, dark scenes use low saturated dark colors to create a gloomy rainy day feeling while bright scenes employ reds, purples, and other highly saturated hues for a magical atmosphere that increases contrast between light and dark colors for visual impact.
