ＫＦＡ１０００宇宙写真とＳＰＯＴ画像の比較

A KFA1000 space photo was compared with a SPOT image for same test site, and characteristics of both images were evaluated. Photo interpretation and power spectral analysis proved that the KFA1000 photo has more high spatial resolusion than the SPOT image. In case of enlarging digital image, such as SPOT image, Cubic Convolusion method is suggested to sharpen the image. Shading and small scratches were found on the KFA1000 film. The scale of the film was found to be larger than the specification due to the satellite alltitude variation.

Methods of determination of atmospheric effects for interpretation of brightness‐field images of the “earth‐atmosphere” system

A mathematical model of shortwave radiation transfer in the atmosphere is being developed both in scalar (neglecting polarization) and vector forms. The equation is derived relating a space photo with a near‐surface photo via atmospheric transfer operators. These operators in scalar form are calculated by Monte‐Carlo method and used for Fourier filtration of image. Some analytical approximations also are given. Finally, method for synchronous evaluation measurements of atmospheric parameters is discussed.

Interpretation of an apollo space photo for small scale soil mapping in respect of an area in bihar

A section of an Apollo space photo relating to the Magadh area of Bihar state was monoscopically interpreted resulting in six delineations based upon tone and texture variations. Small scale aerial photographs were used for the preparation of soil map of a part of the area using a systematic air photointerpretation procedure; this served as a basis for defining the soil composition of four out of the six space photo analytical units. In respect of the remaining two units-soil information was obtained by reference to an existing small seale soil map of Bihar State. The data thus obtained have been used to prepare a small scale soil map of the selected section of the Apollo space photo.

Geological interpretation of hyperaltitude photographs from gemini spacecraft

The application of hyperaltitude photographs for geological mapping purposes is evaluated. Examples are given of high-quality space photos, which strongly suggest that future potentials of the use of space photography in small-scale geological mapping are high.
