Implementation of Restorative Justice in the Legal Area of the State Attorney of Banjar Regency South Kalimantan

Restorative Justice is a criminal settlement that emphasizes justice and creates a balance between the rights of victims and perpetrators. The prosecution has a role to play as the main active element in conducting and creating a result that can resolve a crime and fulfil justice for the victim. This study examines how the enforcement and obstacles and barriers in the implementation of restorative justice as well as the ideal form of the application of restaurative justice in the territory of the State Prosecutor's Office of Banjar Regency Kalimantan South Province.

Implications of the South African National Drug Policy on prescribing patterns: a case study of the Limpopo province

BackgroundThe South African National Drug Policy (SA-NDP) was introduced to promote rational medicine use (RMU). This study evaluates the quality of prescribing in the public healthcare sector in South Africa's Limpopo province following the World Health Organization's (WHO) rational prescribing standards. In addition, the prescribing practices in South Africa were compared to other African countries.MethodsA prospective cross-sectional survey of patients' prescriptions was conducted in Limpopo, South Africa, from October to December 2018. Findings were compared with the WHO reference values (WHO-RV), and the International Network of Rational Use of Drugs (IRDP) tool was used to measure the degree of rational prescribing. The optimal IRDP value was defined as 1. Study findings were compared with results from a previous study conducted in Limpopo and studies from Ethiopia and Eritrea.ResultsSix hundred prescriptions were reviewed. The mean (SD) age was 43.9 ± 24.4 years (females = 56.5%). The average number of drugs prescribed (4.3, IRDP = 0.47) was higher than the WHO-RV (< 2). Generic prescribing (43%, IRDP = 0.43) and medicines prescribed from the essential medicines list (EML) (90%, IRDP = 0.90) were less than the WHO-RV (100%, respectively). Antibiotics (28%, IRDP = 1) and the number of injections prescribed (8%, IRDP = 1) were below the WHO-RV (< 30% and < 20%, respectively). The number of medicines prescribed was higher compared to previous years (4.3 vs. 3.4). Antibiotic prescribing declined (28% vs. 63.4%). Generic prescribing (43% vs. 41.7%) and medicines prescribed from the EML (90% vs. 93.1%) did not improve. A higher number of medicines were prescribed in this study compared to Ethiopia (1.7) and Eritrea (1.8), and a lower number of antibiotics were prescribed compared to Ethiopia (58.2%) and Eritrea (54.5%). Generic prescribing was low compared to Ethiopia (95.6%) and Eritrea (94.9%). All studies showed reduced injection prescribing (6.6–15.9%) and similar prescribing from the EML (90–95%).ConclusionsThere is an increased potential for drug-drug and adverse reactions with the increased number of prescribed medicines; however, the patient's clinical needs may warrant using multiple medicines. There is a need for generic prescribing to reduce medicine expenditure.

Farmers' perception on severity, crop loss and management practices of variegated grasshopper (Zonocerus variegatus L.) on cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) in Sierra Leone

Farmers' perception on the severity and management practices on cassava has not been fully investigated particularly across agro-ecologies in Sierra Leone. This study assessed the perception of smallholder cassava farmers on the severity of Z. variegatus L., its impacts on yield and indigenous coping management practices utilized to mitigate the infestation of grasshoppers in their cassava farms. The population of the study comprised 300 cassava farmers sampled from the north, south and eastern provinces of Sierra Leone. The study involved questionnaire research instrument administered to smallholder farmers who were farming for household consumption, those producing for sale and household consumption and those who were mainly producing for sale because their primary goal was to produce for the market. Findings revealed that farmers had perceived abilities about agro-ecological distribution of grasshoppers, making them to be familiar with cassava crop damage severity pattern and easy identification. Farmers have ability to recognize and identify adult grasshoppers, and part(s) of cassava mostly affected by grasshoppers. Cassava leaves and stems are destroyed by the pest during either preferential feeding or as a result of ‘choice, no choice feeding’. The study established that smallholder farmers have perceived abilities to identify damage symptoms, stage(s) in the life cycle of the pest that is/are more destructive leading to crop losses and utilization of best practices to mitigate grasshopper infestation on cassava that could be exploited for increased production, management and conservation of cassava genetic resources. Moreover, 52.3% of variation in extent of crop loss by grasshopper infestation is attributable to life cycle stage(s) of the grasshoppers, identification of part(s) of cassava plant mostly destroyed by grasshoppers, cassava variety preference by grasshoppers and the best practices that contribute to increased cassava productivity.

Research on the Ecological Innovation Efficiency of the Zhongyuan Urban Agglomeration: Measurement, Evaluation and Optimization

The objective of carbon peaking and carbon neutralization put forward higher requirements for the intensive use of energy and resources, and green and efficient development has become an essential part of high-quality development. Ecological innovation focuses on resource preservation and application and the improvement of the ecological environment while driving economic development through innovation; therefore, ecological innovation has become a solution to balance resource conservation, environmental protection, and efficient development effectively and has received widespread attention. This research takes 30 cities of the Zhongyuan Urban Agglomeration as research subjects and constructs an urban agglomeration’s evaluation index system to measure ecological innovation efficiency. By utilizing the entropy-weight TOPSIS model and super-efficiency SBM-DEA model, the ecological innovation performance of the Zhongyuan Urban Agglomeration is measured and evaluated from 2006 to 2020; then, redundancy analysis is applied to analyze the correlation between ecological innovation inputs and outputs. The final results illustrate that: (1) The overall ecological innovation performance level of the Zhongyuan urban agglomeration is relatively low, and the ecological innovation ability of some cities is inadequate; (2) From the temporal perspective, the temporal evolution of the Zhongyuan urban agglomeration showed a less obvious U-shaped trend, and the innovation output benefits of the core development region are considerably superior to those of the co-development region, and the ecological innovation transformation efficiency of the Zhongyuan urban agglomeration shows a fluctuating trend; (3) From the spatial perspective, there are eight cities at the “high output and high efficiency” level but 19 cities at the “low output and low efficiency” level, and the ecological innovation performance of most cities in the north is obviously better than that in the south from the perspective of spatial distribution. Therefore, to further improve the ecological innovation ability and performance of the Zhongyuan urban agglomeration, relevant policies should be fully practiced and implemented, such as building Nanyang as a sub-central city, constructing an efficient ecological economy demonstration area in the south of Henan province, effectively integrating Zhengzhou and Kaifeng, and the innovative radiation of Zhengzhou as a national central city to other cities.

Evaluation of Preterm Birth and its Associated Risk Factors in Southeast Iran in 2020: A Glance to Social and Care Factors

Aims: This study aimed to assess pregnancy health care and the incidence of PTB in the south of Kerman province. Background: For the plan and management of prevention programs effectively, it is important to consider the incidence and trend of preterm births (PTB). Methods: In this cross-sectional (descriptive and analytical) study, the national code of mothers of premature infants was extracted by reporting from the national system of the Ministry of Health. The data collection tool was a researcher-made checklist. Data analysis was carried out by SPSS version 20 software and the significance level was &lt;0.05. Results and Discussion: A total of 554 premature infants were examined, and 55% of them were boys. The gender of the infant and the number of cares received (p&lt;0.01), the level of education of the mother and father (p &lt; 0.001), the mother’s occupation (p &lt; 0.01), the father's occupation (p &lt; 0.001), monthly income and participation in preparatory classes of childbirth (p&lt;0.01), place of residence (p&lt;0.05), appropriateness of receiving care with pregnancy age (p&lt;0.001) had statistically significant relationship with the number of care received. Conclusion: This study showed potential risk factors associated with preterm delivery and subsequent management to prevent preterm delivery in low-risk and high-risk women with singleton or multiple pregnancies. A history of premature birth is the most important risk factor for premature birth in the next pregnancy.

The Influence of Regional Financial Independence and Government Spending on Economic Growth and Poverty

This study aims to determine the effect of Regional Financial Independence and Government Expenditure on Poverty and Economic Growth in Kalimantan Island in 2012. The data used in this study is secondary data in the form of Regional Financial Independence, Government Expenditures, Poverty Levels, and Economic Growth in the Province Central Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, East Kalimantan and South Kalimantan. The analytical method used in this study is multiple regression analysis. The results of the first model analysis state that regional financial independence has a negative and insignificant effect on poverty, and government spending has a significant effect on poverty. While the results of the second model analysis are regional financial independence and government spending have a significant effect on economic growth.

Building Lasting Connections: Cultivating Brand loyalty through Relationship and Commitment

Because of the cutthroat rivalry that exists in the fashion sector, customers are faced with a bewildering selection of options, which makes it extremely difficult to win and keep their allegiance. Using the literature on relationship marketing as a jumping off point, this study investigates the dynamic link that exists between "brand trust," "customer satisfaction," "brand evaluation," "brand commitment," "brand relationship," and "brand loyalty" in the context of Pakistan's fashion sector. This study conducts an in-depth analysis of 460 answers from important fashion brand customers in the South Punjab province of Pakistan. The data utilised in this investigation was gathered by means of structured surveys that were carried out using the mall intercept methodology. The use of the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) technique allows for a comprehensive investigation into the ways in which the variables are related to one another on the basis of well-established theoretical premises. The conclusions of this research have important repercussions for marketing executives and brand managers, since they provide such individuals with useful techniques to strengthen client loyalty. These tactics place a strong emphasis on the management of online brand communities and make use of new technology to strengthen market orientation. They are widely regarded as being essential for the cultivation of "brand loyalty" in the fashion industry.

Land use change rather than surrounding vegetation affects fungal endophyte assemblages in the African wild olive

ContextLand use change can significantly affect plant-fungal interactions.ObjectivesWe assessed how fungal endophytes within African wild olive (Olea europaea subsp. cuspidata) twigs are influenced by different levels of land use change and differences in surrounding vegetation types.MethodsTwigs were sampled in the Western Cape Province (South Africa) and their fungal endophyte assemblages were characterised using culture-independent DNA metabarcoding. We assessed the effects of land use change (natural, semi-natural and planted (completely transformed)) and differences in surrounding vegetation types (grasses/low-growing plants versus shrubs/trees versus other olives) using fungal endophyte alpha and beta diversity measures. Co-occurrence networks were constructed to assess assemblage connectivity under different scenarios and to identify OTUs of potential ecological significance.ResultsOTU richness, but not abundance, was significantly influenced by both land use change and differences in the surrounding vegetation types. Planted African olives and those surrounded by heterospecific trees harboured the highest OTU richness. Only levels of land use change significantly influenced fungal endophyte assemblage composition. Specifically, fungal assemblages from natural habitats were distinct from those in planted and semi-natural habitats, which were similar to each other. Co-occurrence network analyses revealed that cohesive and species rich networks could only be maintained within the natural habitats.ConclusionThese findings suggest that although the African olive is widespread, the identity and composition of their associated fungal assemblages are particularly sensitive to land use change. This study highlights the importance of conserving natural habitats, not just for the plants, but also for the maintenance of their associated fungal endophytes.

The Impact of Income on Gender-Based Violence: A Case of Matabeleland South

The study assessed the effects of income on gender-based violence using a multinomial logistic regression and an ANOVA test to model the cross-sectional data collected from a survey of 305 respondents in Bulilima district, Matabeleland South province, Zimbabwe. The study is significant as understanding the role of income on gender-based violence guides policymakers in eradicating gender-based violence since it entails more economic costs such as lost wages, productivity and it also drains resources from justice, health and social service which slackens the effectiveness of poverty reduction programs. The results showed that more women than men experienced gender-based violence. Also, an increase in the proportion of women engaged in any economic activity was associated with the risk of encountering sexual and emotional violence. In addition, the likelihood of experiencing emotional violence increased with every Rand in income for a woman. The study recommends the government to prioritize employment creation and financial empowerment through promoting and supporting agricultural operations so that men retain their social role of providing for the family. Furthermore, monetary policies that benefit both men and women in small and medium-sized businesses should be implemented to increase household incomes.

An Investigation on the Factors Influencing the Success and Failure of Co-Operatives in the Chris Hani District Municipality (CHDM), Eastern Cape Province, South Africa

In an era when the level of unemployment and poverty continues to be a challenge in both developed and underdeveloped nations, many countries have identified the need to strengthen the legislative frameworks that perceive co-operatives as resilient, vibrant, and viable economic alternatives. However, there is a lot of literature pointing to the failure of co-operatives to live beyond five years. This study, hence, explored the factors that cause Co-operatives to fail despite the support received from governments. The study used a thematic analysis descriptive qualitative approach with data collected from five Co-operatives in the Chris Hani District Co-operatives in the Eastern Cape, Province South Africa. In-depth interviews were used in the study, as such, a narrative of verbatim accounts was used to derive themes and sub-themes for results analysis. The findings revealed countless aspects that hinder the progress of Co-operatives such as inadequacies associated with the lack of managerial skills for good governance, age gap among members and viewing the co-operative as just a project, not a business enterprise, political interference and infighting among members. The paper concluded that Co-operatives indeed offer a significant contribution to the socio-economic development and need to be effectively managed. The paper recommended that monitoring and evaluation instruments by funders and government departments responsible for registering and guiding co-operatives be developed. The study will help Co-operatives identify more ways of becoming successful and sustainable. Retrospective Post-Hospitalisation COVID-19 Mortality Risk Assessment of Patients in South Africa.

Background: This study explores the determinants impacting the mortality risk of COVID-19 patients following hospitalisation within South Africa's Limpopo province. Methods: Utilising a dataset comprising 388 patients, the investigation employs a frailty regression model to evaluate the influence of diverse characteristics on mortality outcomes, contrasting its performance against other parametric models based on loglikelihood measures. Results: The findings underscore diabetes and hypertension as notable contributors to heightened mortality rates, underscoring the urgency of effectively managing these comorbidities to optimise patient well-being. Additionally, regional discrepancies come to the fore, with the Capricorn district demonstrating elevated mortality risks, thereby accentuating the necessity for precisely targeted interventions. Medical interventions, particularly ventilation, emerge as pivotal factors in mitigating mortality risk. Gender-based distinctions in mortality patterns also underscore the need for bespoke patient care strategies. Conclusions: Collectively, these outcomes supply practical insights with implications for healthcare interventions, policy formulation, and clinical strategies aimed at ameliorating COVID-19 mortality risk among individuals discharged from hospitals within South Africa's Limpopo province.

Knowledge, attitude and preventative practice of tuberculosis in rural communities of Dikgale, Mamabolo and Mothiba health and demographic surveillance system in Limpopo province, South Africa

BackgroundTuberculosis continues to be a serious public health issue. To reduce the transmission of the disease, it is imperative to address the major obstacle of inadequate understanding regarding the causes, risk factors, treatments, and prevention of pulmonary TB. The study assessed knowledge, attitude, and preventative practices of tuberculosis among community members in Dikgale, Mamabolo and Mothiba (DIMAMO) Health Demographic Surveillance system, Limpopo Province South Africa.MethodsA cross-sectional clinic-based survey involving 360 participants was conducted at clinics at Dikgale, Mamabolo and Mothiba (DIMAMO) Health and Demographic Surveillance System. A standardised questionnaire on socio-demographic, knowledge, attitude and preventative practices towards tuberculosis based on (WHO) KAP-TB template guidelines was used to collect data. Descriptive statistics on Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 27.0 was used to analyse data.ResultsThe results of the cross-sectional survey on KAP-TB illustrated that the participants have good knowledge, attitude, and perception of TB. Majority of the participants (n = 270, 75%) had good general knowledge, while (n = 90, 25%) had poor knowledge about TB. However, the study reports (n = 57, 15.6%) having knowledge of causative agents of TB. Participants showed a favourable attitude toward people who are infected with TB. 87% showed a favourable attitude while only 12.46% showed an unfavourable attitude towards TB. Participants showed a good practice of (71.7%) while (28.3%) of participants had poor practice towards TB.ConclusionHealth education interventions programme on TB needs to be intensified among the community members to improve TB awareness and reduce transmission. Focused educational interventions on TB aetiology and mode of transmission are required to increase TB preventative practices and improve health-seeking behaviour among community members.

New extralimital breeding records of saltmarsh sparrows (Ammospiza caudacuta) and Nelson's sparrows (Ammospiza nelsoni) and their implications.

Saltmarsh (Ammospiza caudacuta) and Nelson's (A. nelsoni) sparrows are sister taxa that breed in tidal marshes along the coast of the Northeastern United States and Canada. The Saltmarsh Sparrow breeds from mid-coast Maine south to Virginia, while the Acadian Nelson's Sparrow breeds from the Canadian maritime provinces south to northern Massachusetts. Here, we present three extralimital observations of breeding Saltmarsh (n = 2) and Nelson's (n = 1) sparrows. In 2021 and 2022, we observed Saltmarsh Sparrow females attending nests at Mendall Marsh, ME, and Milbridge, ME, respectively, approximately 60 and 110 km beyond the documented northern extent of the Saltmarsh Sparrow breeding range. In 2022, we observed a breeding-condition male Nelson's sparrow singing in the upriver portion of a marsh on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, approximately 115 km beyond the previously documented southern extent of the Nelson's Sparrow breeding range. We confirmed morphological species identification using a panel of microsatellite DNA loci. Due to both the well-documented population declines of these species in the region and the intensity of sampling effort undertaken in recent years, we suggest that these observations likely are not indicative of range expansion. However, they do indicate that these 2 taxa have the capacity to use and successfully reproduce in marshes well beyond their established breeding limits. Our findings provide novel insight into the potential for these taxa to occur and successfully breed outside their documented breeding ranges. Given increased interest in their conservation, these results support the idea that management actions aimed at creating or maintaining nesting habitat across both species ranges could benefit both taxa.

Phylogenetic position of Xiphinema oxycaudatum (Nematoda: Longidoridae) associated with maize using 28S rDNA from South Africa

Plant-parasitic nematodes are the main nematodes that live in the soil, causing yield loss in various crops. Since Xiphinema oxycaudatum is an ectoparasite, it can reduce crop yields by feeding on the roots of crops like maize. Correct identification of this species is crucial as maize is a vital crop in South Africa's Limpopo Province. Therefore, this molecular study was conducted in 2023 at Limpopo University to identify the nematode from South Africa's soils using 28S rDNA marker. The recovered nematode was extracted using the tray method, and then its DNA was extracted using the chelex method. The nematode was identified as Xiphinema. Afterward, 28S rDNA was amplified using specific primers to identify the nematode at the molecular level. The Nblast analysis based on the large subunit ribosomal DNA showed South African X. oxycaudatum had 99% similarity (MK966417) with the South African population. Phylogenetic analysis using maximum likelihood placed this species with those molecularly identified as X. oxycaudatum in the same clade with highly supported (100) bootstrap values. While 28S rDNA was used to successfully identify this species, further investigation into the phylogeny of X. oxycaudatum will benefit from the addition of other rDNA markers such as ITS rDNA and mitochondrial DNA.

Strategies to enhance sexual health education for prevention of teenage pregnancy in Vhembe District, Limpopo Province: different stakeholder’s perspectives, a co-operative Inquiry qualitative protocol paper

BackgroundSouth Africa is reporting higher rates of adolescent pregnancy as compared to other countries. There are different types of interventions that are in place to address teenage pregnancy. However, these interventions were developed using top-down strategy without the inclusion of different stakeholders and adolescents which makes it hard to implement those interventions particularly in countries like South Africa. Hence, this study aimed to develop strategies to enhance sexual health education for prevention of teenage pregnancy in Vhembe District, Limpopo Province of South Africa.MethodsThe research design of this study will be Co-operative Inquiry.The study will take place in Vhembe District in Limpopo province of South Africa through collaborating with a Non-governmental Organisation (NGO). The study population will be the teenagers and all the different stakeholders caring for teenagers in their areas of specialization. Purposive sampling will be used to sample the targeted participants of the study. The data collection method will be done in phases and focus group discussions will be used to collect data. Content analysis will be used to analyse data.DiscussionThis study will add to the body of knowledge regarding the strategies that maybe used to enhance sexual health education for prevention of teenage pregnancy.

Taxonomic study on the subgenus Orientostichus, the Pterostichuspulcher species group (Coleoptera, Carabidae, Pterostichus).

The Pterostichuspulcher species group of the subgenus Orientostichus Sciaky & Allegro is defined for P.pulcher Sciaky & Allegro and six new allied species. All seven species of this group are revised on morphological characters. Six new species are described from south of Sichuan province, China: P.pemphissp. nov. (type locality: Shuihaizi, Puge county, 27.33°N, 102.45°E), P.orbicollissp. nov. (Longzhoushan, Huili county, 26.79°N, 102.20°E), P.leosp. nov. (Shizishan, Jinyang county, 27.88°N, 103.23°E), P.liyuanisp. nov. (Luojishan, Puge county, 27.58°N, 102.39°E), P.condylussp. nov. (Yele, Mianning county, 28.96°N, 102.16°E), P.jialinisp. nov. (Jiamashi, Huidong county, 26.81°N, 102.68°E). Tritrichischinensis Jedlička, syn. nov., a species previously misplaced in the subgenus Orientostichus, is excluded from the genus Pterostichus and confirmed to be a junior synonym of Synuchusnitidusreticulatus Lindroth, 1956.

Changing the Epidemiology and Pattern of Hepatitis B and C in the South of Fars Province, Southern Iran: 2015 - 2021

Background: Hepatitis B and C are now recognized worldwide as dangerous infectious diseases which impose many physical and economic problems on individuals, families, and society. Objectives: This research was designed to demonstrate the trends of hepatitis B and C in the south of Fars province, southern Iran, from 2015 to 2021. Methods: The current research was a cross-sectional analytical study. All patients infected with hepatitis B and C from 2015 to mid-2021 were enrolled, and their information was registered in the health department of the Larestan Faculty of Medical Sciences. The Cochran-Armitage trend test was used to determine hepatitis B and C incidences. Results: A total of 306 cases of hepatitis B and 128 cases of hepatitis C were registered. The mean age of the individuals with hepatitis B was 40.15 ± 18.95 years, and that of those with hepatitis C was 45.12 ± 13.31 years. The overall incidence of hepatitis B and C was estimated at 18.44 and 7.71 per 100,000 population, respectively. The highest incidence of hepatitis B was observed, with 50.91 and 26.01 per 100,000 population in 2019 and 2018, respectively, and the lowest incidence was reported in 2016 (1.46 cases per 100,000 population). The highest incidence of hepatitis C, with 17.94 and 15.01 per 100,000 people, was reported in 2018 and 2019, respectively, and the lowest incidence (0.36 per 100,000 population) was in 2016. The finding of the Cochrane-Armitage trend test for both types of hepatitis B and C indicated that the trend of hepatitis incidence from 2015 to 2021 had significantly increased (P Trend &lt; 0.001). Conclusions: In general, the incidence of hepatitis B and C has increased significantly; therefore, it is necessary to implement preventive and control programs.

Factors influencing smallholder farmers’ climate change risk perceptions: A behavioral approach in semi-arid regions of Zimbabwe

Abstract The resilience of the agricultural sector is increasingly threatened by climate change while rainfed agriculture has become more susceptible to climate and weather-related stressors. However, farmers’ perceptions of climate change risk which vary by niche, greatly influence their adaptation strategies. This study used a questionnaire survey to solicit factors that inform and shape climate change risk perceptions of smallholder farmers in semi-arid areas in Zimbabwe. A sample of 180 farming households was randomly selected from six wards of Beitbridge District, Matabeleland South Province. Descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, and the ordered probit regression model were used to assess the determinants of smallholder farmers’ perceptions of climate change risk. Results show that perceptions of climate change risk are significantly enhanced by educational level, participation in social groups, household experience in agriculture, access to climate information and extension services, as well as age, gender, and education level of the household head. However, resource endowments reduced the climate change risk perception of households. However, the weak influence of these factors points towards the existence of other issues that influence smallholder farmer climate risk perceptions that warrant additional research to understand how these inform and shape smallholder farmer decision-making. Nonetheless, there is a continuous need to improve smallholder farmers’ access to climate information and build their capacity to address emerging climate risks. This is critical to shaping their climate change risk perceptions and influencing their decisions to adopt resilience-building technologies.&amp;#xD;

Optimizing biomass yield of three herbaceous forage legumes through dual inoculation of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi and Rhizobia

The production of forage legumes under Sub-Saharan region of Eastern Cape Province (South Africa) had been limited by several factors which includes low levels of soil nitrogen and phosphorus. The current study aimed at investigating the effects of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) and Rhizobium inoculation on growth and yield of three forage legumes, namely, Vigna unguiculata, Lablab purpureus and Mucuna pruriens. The field trials were established over two growing seasons (2017/2018 and 2018/2019) to measure growth parameters such as seedling survival, plant height, stem diameter and plant vigor as well as mycorrhizal dependency, nodulation and forage yield. The results showed that the dual inoculation of AMF and Rhizobia bacteria significantly increased (P ≤ 0.05) seedling survival, plant height, stem diameter, plant vigor, nodule numbers, active nodulation rate and dry matter yield. However, nodule dry weight and dry matter content of forage legumes were significantly reduced by the dual inoculation of AMF and Rhizobia. In conclusion, the dual inoculation resulted in high forage production compared to single inoculation and un-inoculated forages in both seasons. Therefore, the dual inoculation could be an ideal alternative in attempts to reduce the overreliance of chemical fertilizer application on forage production under semi-arid regions.
