Designing A Catalog of UMKM Metal Crafts in Fancy Copper as A Branding and Marketing Media

: Promotion plays a crucial role in enhancing sales in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. One proven method of promotion that effectively influences consumer purchasing decisions is through the use of product catalogs, whether in print or digital form. Catalogs not only serve as sources of product information but also function as tools to promote the unique features of the offered products. In this context, this Community Service Program (KKN) is dedicated to creating product catalogs for Fancy Copper, an MSME. The objective of this program is to introduce copper and brass products through both print and digital catalogs, with the hope of boosting product sales. The KKN program activities consist of four stages: problem analysis through interviews and discussions, data collection and product photo capture, design of the product catalog, and the composition of catalog content. Evaluation results indicate that the use of product catalogs successfully captures consumer interest and has a positive impact on sales growth

Traceability of Architectural Design Decisions and Software Artifacts: A Systematic Mapping Study

Abstract The definition of architecture is a crucial task in software development, where the architect is responsible for making the right decisions to meet specific functional and quality requirements. These architectural design decisions form the foundation that shapes the arrangement of elements within a system. Unfortunately, these decisions are often poorly documented, implicit in various artifacts, or inadequately updated, leading to negative consequences on the maintainability of a system and resulting in rework and cost overruns. The objective of this systematic mapping study is to comprehend the current state regarding approaches for traceability of architectural design decisions and how these decisions are linked with the different artifacts used in software development. To achieve this, an information extraction protocol is followed, utilizing databases with search strings, inclusion, and exclusion criteria. The findings demonstrate that this knowledge is highly relevant; however, it is rarely explicitly documented. As a result, most works propose diverse approaches to extract this knowledge from existing technical documentation, commonly used tools, and other sources of product and process information. In contrast, it is evident that there is no standard for documenting design decisions, leading each author to present a subjective version of what is important and where to trace these decisions. This suggests that there is still a significant amount of research to be conducted regarding the traceability of these architectural design decisions and their connection with software artifacts. Such research could lead to intriguing new proposals for investigation.

Children’s Attitude Towards Television Advertisements and Their Confront and Prospects on Family Purchase Behaviour

Changing the business environment in the Indian context, children have become a very important consumer group that influences challenges and opportunities for family purchases of various products in many ways. Marketers pay this group, especially by recognizing them as a main market, an influential market, and a future market. Due to the dramatic changes taking place in society in terms of technology, information processing, and the changing media environment, children, especially 8-14-year-olds, are growing much faster. The increase in the double income of parents, the increase in the number of working women, the reduction in the size of the family, the increase in the number of televisions in the household, in particular children's bedrooms, commercial pressure increased the arrival of new products on the market. Due to the presence of huge media environment, children can experience consumption and shopping at a much faster rate than ever. Changing business environment in the Indian context marketing targets children, including infants, often based on a highly sophisticated and manipulative psychology that is primarily focused on television commercials. The central role of television in children's lives is indicated by the fact that 9 out of 10 children watch it almost every day. Now, the socializing agent has drawn more attention than the mass media, especially television, in the literature on consumer behaviour. In this changing business era, many television commercials are creations of bright minds that try to persuade people to buy. These commercials affect the minds of children because of the beautiful audio and visual effects. Advertising influences children's purchasing demands and family dynamics. Earlier literature indicated that television commercials affected children's attempts to influence parents' purchases, calling the advertisement "an unhealthy persuasive vehicle." This study is an attempt to investigate changing business environment in the Indian context for the purchase of children affected by television commercials. The main objective of the study is to assess the attitude of children towards television advertisements by taking a sample of rural and urban children, to measure the capacity of television advertisements to influence the purchases of families in this regard, which concerns the different categories of products and analyze the parents' perception of the influence of television advertisements on their children. The result indicated that the children in both homes have a generally positive attitude towards television commercials viewing them as an important source of product information and enjoyment, although they do view TV advertising as manipulative to some extent.

From brick-and-mortar to livestream shopping: product information acquisition from the uncertainty reduction perspective

This study investigates how livestream fashion shopping is associated with brick-and-mortar shopping, focusing on product uncertainty, and examines livestreaming’s role in reducing product uncertainty and promoting consumers’ purchase intention by adopting the Uncertainty reduction theory (URT). The study identifies the three product information sources (i.e., product demonstration, interaction with the seller, and other viewers’ reviews) that consumers use in livestream shopping via uncertainty-reducing strategies. PLS results (n = 292) indicate that consumers who rely on salespeople’s assistance as a product information source in brick-and-mortar shopping showed a positive perception of the two product information sources—interaction with the seller and other viewers’ reviews—in livestream shopping. The seller’s product demonstration played a significant role in reducing product uncertainty and subsequently affected purchase intention, while the other two information sources (i.e., interaction with the seller and other viewers’ reviews) affected the purchase intention directly. The findings extend the URT to improve our understanding of consumer information attainment in the livestream shopping context and exemplify a promising future for livestream fashion shopping by investigating its features that can potentially substitute for the brick-and-mortar shopping experience. Future studies can include motivational factors (i.e., service and/or technical barriers) in the model.

More Than Just Numbers: How Engagement Metrics Influence User Intention to Pay for Online Knowledge Products

The online knowledge-sharing market in China has been rapidly growing, with increasing user demand for paid knowledge products. Like in other e-commerce contexts, users must make product evaluations under conditions of information asymmetry. In the age of social media, engagement metrics can be a particularly rich source of product information for users. However, there has been little research on how engagement metrics influence user decision making in online knowledge market. As such, mainly drawing on the Social Impact Theory, this study conducted a 2 (engagement metrics: high vs. low) × 2 (source expertise: high vs. low) between-subject factorial design experiment to explore the impact of engagement metrics on user purchase intention for online knowledge products. Participants consisted of 151 college students who completed measures on purchase intention, trust, demographics, and other individual variables. Results revealed that only when source expertise is high do higher engagement metrics lead to higher consumer trust, in turn resulting in higher purchase intention. Differentiating from findings on the impact of engagement metrics in other online contexts, this study highlights the importance of source expertise for influencing user purchase intention in the knowledge-sharing market.

Cover Crops for Sustainable Cropping Systems: A Review

Cover cropping is a promising and sustainable agronomic practice to ameliorate soil health and crop performances in agro-ecosystems. Indeed, cover crops (CCs) may regulate several ecosystem services such as nutrient cycling, soil fertility, moderation of extreme meteorological events, pollination, and climate and water regulation; in addition, CCs are also used as forage crops and have considerable effects on plant and soil biodiversity. However, to achieve the desired effects on agro-ecosystems, cover cropping should be carefully adopted by considering the specie choice, period of cultivation, and termination method based on site, farm, or purpose-specific. The main objective of this manuscript is to analyze the effects of modern agriculture on soil and environmental health and how cover crops can support sustainable cropping systems and global food security. In addition, it focuses on how the incorporation of cover crops into conventional cropping systems can help in the diversification of crops and assist in mitigating the environmental effects of cropping systems. Finally, this review thoroughly investigates the potential effects of CCs on environmental sustainability, which can be an important source of information for sustainable crop production and food security.

Young adults' knowledge, perceptions and use of cannabidiol products: a mixed-methods study.

Cannabidiol (CBD) product regulatory efforts must be informed by research regarding consumer perceptions. This mixed-methods study examined CBD product information sources, knowledge, perceptions, use and use intentions among young adults. This study analyzed (i) Fall 2020 survey data from 2464 US young adults (Mage = 24.67, 51.4% ever users, 32.0% past 6-month users) and (ii) Spring 2021 qualitative interviews among 40 survey participants (27.5% past-month users). Overall, 97.9% of survey participants reported having heard of CBD, 51.4% ever/lifetime use and 32.0% past 6-month use. Survey participants learned about CBD from friends/family (58.9%), products/ads at retailers (36.4%), online content/ads (34.8%), CBD stores (27.5%) and social media (26.7%). One-fourth believed that CBD products were required to be US Food and Drug Administration-approved (24.9%), tested for safety (28.8%) and proven effective to be marketed for pain, anxiety, sleep, etc. (27.2%). Survey and interview participants perceived CBD as safe, socially acceptable and effective for addressing pain, anxiety and sleep. Interview findings expanded on prominent sources of marketing and product exposure, including online and specialty retailers (e.g. vape shops), and on participants' concerns regarding limited regulation and/or evidence regarding CBD's effectiveness/risks. Given young adults' misperceptions about CBD, surveillance of CBD knowledge, perceptions and use is critical as the CBD market expands.

How Perceived Risk and Suspicion Moderates the Relationship Between Information Source, eWOM, and Purchasing Decision

This research aimed to examine the customer behavior in online shopping by measuring product characteristics, information sources, perceived risk, electronic word-of-mouth, suspicion, and purchase decision with the moderation effect. The research data were collected using convenience sampling method. Respondents of 312 customers who conducted shopping online have been analysed, and research hypotheses were assessed by employing partial linear square structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) and hierarchy regression analysis. The study found that there is a relationship among different variables and perceived risk, and suspicion moderates the relationship between information sources, electronic word-of-mouth, and purchase decision. Since the issues of online shopping were still subject to further validation, this study provided an important reference for marketers to develop marketing strategies as well as the theoretical base for further empirical validation.

Student-Generated Teaching Materials

Students can create products that take the form of instructional materials. A scoping review was carried out to map the research field of student-generated teaching materials, focusing on product types, information sources, learning-related matters, and researchers’ explanations. Based on 280 articles, four product types were identified: audio/visual materials, questions, texts, and educational games. Studies gathered information from product creation, product use, participants’ perceptions, and learning outcomes. Socio-cognitive and motivational learning-related matters for creators and users were reported concerning the subject matter, cross-curricular competencies, academic emotions, and engagement. In these studies, researchers interpreted their findings based on nine different explanations: active learning, audience effect, knowledge building, learning by teaching, motivational processes, peer learning, the role of ICT, scaffolding, and time-on-task and practice effect. Different lines for future research are discussed, related to the educational stages and knowledge areas, the research designs, and the relationship between research and practice.

How User Manuals Support the Diagnosis of Common Faults in Household Appliances: an Analysis of 150 Manuals

Product repairs are at the core of sustainable consumption and user manuals can play a relevant role in facilitating them. They are the accredited source of product information for end users and are therefore sought as an important means for the diagnosis and subsequent repair of household appliances. However, despite increasing societal demand for repairable products, few studies have been conducted on the extent to which manuals contribute to the fault diagnosis and subsequent repair process. In this study, we analysed current guidance provided by manuals for the diagnosis process, answering the research question: ‘To what extent do user manuals provide sufficient information to diagnose the most frequent faults in household appliances?’ We examined the diagnosis instructions provided in the user manuals of four different household appliances using data on the appliances’ most frequently failing components, and a framework that considers three steps towards a successful diagnosis: fault detection, fault location, and fault isolation. In total, we analysed 150 user manuals of 48 brands available on the European market. We show that manuals do not instruct the diagnosis of frequently failing components. They mainly refer to causes of failure and directly recommend corrective actions after fault detection. Thus, they rarely include a three-step fault diagnosis process to identify and isolate a faulty component. Based on these results, we have extended the framework for the process of fault diagnosis to include a step from cause identification to corrective action. Both routes, the component-oriented and the cause-oriented route in fault diagnosis, should be considered during the design of products for easy fault diagnosis, and should be included in future regulations that address product reparability.

Observing Product Touch: The Vicarious Haptic Effect in Digital Marketing and Virtual Reality

Retail is rapidly evolving to construct virtual environments for consumers. Online product images, videos, and virtual reality (VR) interfaces enliven consumer experiences and are a source of product information. Because consumers are unable to physically touch products in these digital environments, this research examines vicarious touch, or the observation of a hand in physical contact with a product in a digital environment. Across eight studies, the authors use images, GIFs, and VR to show that vicarious touch affects consumers’ psychological ownership and product valuation due to the active nature of product touch, which results in a felt sense of body ownership of the virtual hand. This is termed the “vicarious haptic effect.” Results demonstrate that it is not enough to show a hand in an advertisement; the hand must be touching a product. The vicarious haptic effect is strongest for people who become highly stimulated by an immersive VR experience (i.e., measured via the elevation in heart rate). The vicarious haptic effect is attenuated if the viewed interaction does not represent a diagnostic hand movement. The authors discuss theoretical and managerial implications for digital product presentation to encourage feelings of product ownership and valuation.

PENGARUH SIKAP KONSUMEN TERHADAP IKLAN TELEVISI DAN MINAT BELI SUATU PRODUK

Advertising is a source of product information for consumers. Different responses from consumers to advertisements form various specific attitudes towards an advertisement. Marketers and companies need a positive attitude towards the advertisements produced. So that consumer buying interest is quite strong in the market. This study aims to provide an overview of consumer attitudes towards television advertising on products commonly used by consumers. This study uses primary data obtained directly from distributing questionnaires to 150 respondents, namely the people of Cibungbulang District. The analytical method used is path analysis (path analysis). The results of this research using the path analysis method indicate that companies can still get a positive impact from advertising through television media. Advertising on television is still superior because consumer evaluation of advertising is strong enough to increase purchase interest in products.The results of the study based on path analysis show that consumer attitudes towards television advertising (X) affect consumer attitudes towards brands (2) and purchase interest (Y). If regressed, consumer attitudes towards television advertising (X) have a significant positive effect on attitudes towards brands with a standardized beta value of 0.429 and a significance of 0.000. Attitude towards brands (Z) has a significant positive effect on purchase intention (Y) with a standardized beta value of 0.417 and a significance of 0.000. Meanwhile, the attitude variable towards brands has a significant effect on purchase intention. Further research can be carried out through comparing consumer attitudes towards advertisements on several media with wider reach and affordable costs, such as the internet and social media.

This article analyzed the impact of three categories of influencing factors on the usefulness and funniness of game reviews, which are characteristics of review, reviewer and game. Additionally, by using the Random Forest-based classifier, the usefulness of reviews could be accurately predicted, while for funniness, Gradient Boosting Decision Tree was the better choice. This article applied research on the usefulness of reviews to game products and proposed research on the funniness of reviews.

Community Consumption of Traditional Medicine and Health Supplements During the Coronavirus Disease-2019 Pandemic

Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) encourages the community to prioritize basic and personal health needs. This study aimed to explore the consumer behaviour of traditional medicine and health supplements during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia using the Consumer Decision Model approach. A quick online cross-sectional survey involving 215 respondents was carried out from December 23, 2020, until January 2, 2021. This study revealed that the majority of respondents consume the products as forced by the pandemic situation, and their use has increased than before the pandemic. The primary reason for consuming the product is to increase their immunity during a pandemic, and they felt more healthy after consuming it. Social media and television are the primary sources of product information. Furthermore, we found that the majority of respondents were branded product consumers. Respondents were more likely to have good behaviour based on knowledge of the products' legality, dosage, indication, instructions for use, and expiration date. This study sets appropriate consumer behaviour and performs the statistical tests only for branded product consumers. It is concluded that consumer behaviour in this study is related to product advertisement exposure and acceptance, environmental influence, and individual difference.

The impact of Danmu technological features on consumer loyalty intention toward recommendation vlogs: a perspective from social presence and immersion

PurposeThis study investigates how Danmu (danmaku) technological features (DTFs) of recommendation vlogs (rec-vlogs) impact consumer experiences and decisions.Design/methodology/approachThe authors adopt the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) technique with a sample of 422 viewers of Danmu-enabled rec-vlogs to examine the proposed model.FindingsThe DTFs positively affect consumer loyalty intentions through the mediation of social presence and immersion. Also, vlogger-product congruency significantly moderates the relationship between social presence and immersion.Originality/valueWith the increasing popularity of vlogs, retailers have adopted the vlog as a new marketing channel to connect with consumers. Although a growing body of studies focuses on this phenomenon, little is known about how DTFs help to increase consumer loyalty toward using rec-vlogs as product information sources. Anchored on the stimulus–organism–response framework, this study investigates how pseudo-synchronicity, Danmu-content congruency and parallelism, three DTFs used in rec-vlogs, impact consumer experiences of social presence and immersion, eventually influence the consumers' loyalty intentions toward rec-vlogs. The authors also examine whether the effect of social presence on immersion is contingent on vlogger-product congruency. These findings have implications for both researchers and practitioners to understand the effect of DTFs in the context of rec-vlogs.

The Critical Need to Build a European Governance Model for Online Access to Medical Information Services: A Position Paper.

European pharmaceutical companies have a legal requirement to provide non-promotional Medical Information (MI) services to support healthcare professionals (HCPs) who are using their medicinal products. While the industry has self-regulating bodies with established Codes of Practice, these mainly focus on promotional messaging and commercial activities. In the absence of similar frameworks for MI, such services struggle to understand how to meet HCP digital expectations, often in fear of breaching the promotional codes. This is limiting access to the wealth of non-promotional patient-focussed information held within the industry. Meanwhile, a large volume of unregulated, low-quality information can be readily found on the internet. To understand the current status, the Medical Information Leaders in Europe (MILE) industry association performed a benchmarking survey which explored the online MI service provision of 13 mid-large pharmaceutical companies across Europe. This highlighted a great diversity in approach in terms of geographical coverage and content. Visibility and access for HCPs is complex, compromising online engagement and website utilisation. This MILE position paper highlights the critical need to establish a clear governance model, which empowers pharmaceutical company MI functions to provide unbranded, non-promotional, medicinal product information sources to support HCP online information needs. It is essential to build confidence, transparency and trust by establishing a practical quality framework with principles and standards for online MI services for HCPs.

Consumer response toward native advertising on social media: the roles of source type and content type

PurposeDrawing upon attribution theory, this study aims to examine how different types of product information sources (mainstream celebrities vs micro-celebrities) interact with content type (experiential vs promotional) to influence consumer response toward native posts on social media (causal attributions and click intention).Design/methodology/approachA total of 134 adult Twitter users participated in a 2 (source type: mainstream celebrity vs micro-celebrity) × 2 (content type: experiential vs promotional) between-subjects online experimental design.FindingsResults showed that for experiential native advertising, messages from a micro-celebrity generated more information-sharing attributions and less monetary gain attributions than those from a mainstream celebrity on social media. Moreover, the experiential native ads from a micro-celebrity elicited greater intention to click the URL than those from a mainstream celebrity. However, consumer response was similar for promotional native advertising regardless of message source. This study demonstrates that information-sharing attributions mediate the interaction effects of source type and content types on click intention.Originality/valueThis study contributes to the literature on native advertising by providing empirical evidence to highlight the effect of message source and content type on consumer response. This study shows that the success of native advertising depends on how consumers perceive the messages and content creators' intention to communicate.
