Once these abnormal pulmonary shadows are visualized radiologically it becomes the responsibility of the clinician to evaluate the nature of the pulmonary lesion in order that the proper therapy may be promptly instituted. Among the varied lesions that may be revealed by routine chest radiography, the isolated and circumscribed pulmonary densities often present elusive and challenging problems in diagnosis.
