Solid + liquid phase diagrams have been obtained from time-against-temperature warming curves for eight binary mixtures: p-xylene + C 6H 5F, + C 6H 5Cl, + C 6H 5Br, and + p-C 6H 4Cl 2; and for mesitylene + C 6H 5F, + C 6H 5Cl, + C 6H 5Br, and + p-C 6H 4F 2. Mixtures consisting of all binary combinations of one of the six halobenzenes C 6H 5F, C 6H 5Cl, C 6H 5Br, p-C 6H 4F 2, p-C 6H 4Cl 2, and p-C 6H 4Br 2 with one of the four aromatic hydrocarbons C 6H 6, C 6H 5CH 3, p-xylene, and mesitylene were checked for solid-compound formation. None of the mixtures containing monohalobenzenes formed compounds. Each of the dihalobenzenes formed at least one compound, p-C 6H 4F 2 with mesitylene, p-C 6H 4Br 2 with p-xylene, and p-C 6H 4Cl 2 with p-xylene.
